Awesome guys, took my remote starter out after I thought it was draining my battery (wasnt the case, but they still did it efficiently) only qualm is that my car was there overnight and was supposed to be done in the morning but wasnt done until 3pm. Other than, definitely liked it here and would recommend

So happy i came to this place for my speakers and radio. I have an older car and didnt want to mess around to much they helped find the perfect match for speakers and gave me good advice on what radio to get that wouldnt need extra work done. Now i have my 85 cougar that has an amazing sound and apple car play. I love it. I will be coming back to set up my rear view camera.

I do not recommand this store. i brought my car to program a remote they told me will cost you 31$ to fix it after that they told me you have bad module which is not after i went back the next day😄,I asked them how the Tech said that i have bad module . how? and the remote i got is working i felt something wrong with them they left everything hanging and told me you all set .I paid them for not doing nothing ..

I was blown away with the black Friday sale they had going on. Advertised is a alarm/remote starter 1 mile range installed for 159.95. Then it also states in the small print underneath vehicles with factory security system may require additional interference. that additional interface now cost 100 bucks. Ive played 25 bucks before. Another time 50 bucks but not 100 bucks for the ignition immobilizer interfaces, transponder bypass kits, or passlock interfaces. That hidden fee ups your price a whole 100 bucks and shouldnt be a hidden charge because its for cars newer than the year 2000. If your car is older there is no reason to get a alarm.i was going to say whatever and still get it but Then to add insult to injury I see a sign showing all the additional fees for features that should already be standard with installation. Like door locks 45 bucks extra on top of the 159 and 100 hidden fee. And trunk release 27 should be standard also. So 159 jumped to over 300 bucks quick. This is not a black Friday sale. Its a black Friday RIP off thats why I walked right out and guy says youll be back.. I definitely wont. I should jus stick with what I know. Cartunes....they lure you in with the so called sale and charges just start flowing from the rear like one had diarrhea...

Awesome place for car electronics

Just got home. Great experience. Friendly kind and straight to the point. I will be heading back to buy a new radio. Jason is a great manager and was kind and welcoming. Fixed my auto start when no one else even had an idea. Will definitely go back.

A couple days ago my cars engine would not stop even after taking out the keys. The car threw a plethora or error such as power steering warning and the engine light came on. Luckily, I was able to self-diagnose with help from an expert that the remote starter was the problem because the problems all went away when I manually disabled the system. It is the only thing that can cause the engine to keep running.I had gone to another Mickey Shorr about a year ago and the installation was a mess. I went back to them at least 5 times to get the remote starter system in working condition. I had a completely negative opinion about Mickey Shorr and planned to never step foot inside another store again. One bad apple spoils the whole bunch.Luckily, I told myself give them one last try and came to this store in Garden City. These people not only fixed all the problems that arose from the poor installation of the other store, but also left the system in much better condition than before via an update. This allowed my vehicle to control the remote starter setting via my car. Nothing but applause for the Technician Manager.As long as you dont expect to come into a store and get free stuff(likely what many of the negative reviews expected), the customer service team and technicians will do a fantastic job. I will definitely be coming back to this store for any of my needs.

Went in to have my door speakers replaced. Prices were almost 75% over list, but the man at the counter ended up matching... He may have made this back in the installation cost. I dont know. However, I am very happy with how quickly they were installed. The extra $100 was definitely worth the afternoon I would have spent screwing around in my garage. Shop around. Know what your products cost and youll have a good experience.

I came here because my Viper alarm kept waking up my neighbors...they were so helpful! The issue was diagnosed and fixed in less than an hour! Alot of places take advantage of the customers but not here. All of the employees at this location are awesome. Very good customer service. Mike was very nice. One lady was agitated already when she walked in the store. I read her review & she wrote that he was racist🤔🤔🤔. NOT TRUE!!! I would happen to know his oldest daughter very well & shes black white Indian & Italian. So whoever wrote that was very irritated. And he had 4 customers ahead of her. And was answering customer calls at the same time. But overall good customer service.

I told him what I was looking for and showed me all my options and was very patient with me. He wasnt trying to sell me the top of the line that I really didnt need to make a buck. I went to car tunes, auto one, ziebart, and Hollywood sounds and got bad attitudes and off name brands before going to garden city mickey shorr for a VIPER system, I came and spoke to Jason the store manager and he took the time to show me all the options and explained in detail how they all work with my car... I ended up getting a viper alarm start combo that works a mile away from my car!!!I am so happy I came to the garden city location, these guys are top notch

Stay away with this company.I came November 1 to purchase a set of speakers for my Ford Edge 2017 SuvNovember 2 came back 9am for the installation.2:34 pm salesperson called me saying that I won’t be getting back my oEM speaker opposite of what I was Told November 1 and early November 2. He said they will used it.2:37pm I called them asking how is it possible to add the old one when it is 25watts only and the new that I purchase (JL C2 650x and JL C2 component) i was told that they just need a part.2:47 I called back telling them that I change my mind. I don’t want them to break my oEM. I was told that it is done. I am force to accept it. It is different that what I was expecting. I am reading the net what is required to install a different speaker when they are both 6.5 inc size.Stay away with this company.

The only store I go to for my car audio needs the store manager Jason was beyond helpful in getting everything together to run my 2 2000 watt amps and my two Orion hcca 10’s along with new jl door speakers, and Chris did a phenomenal job at installing it all hands down the best system I’ve had installed and it looks and sounds great thanks again guys!

Went there needing a speaker baffle to upgrade speakers in my 07 cobalt. Was sold the wrong size. Three days later went to return the item at 2:09 pm in the afternoon and was told that they could not do the refund because they did not have cash in the register and that I would have to come back at a later time once somebody had made a transaction.Absolutely unprofessional not only did they sell me the wrong part but then told me they did not have money in the register to refund me $10.29. Absolutely unprofessional!! I will never go back there again and cant believe what they pulled. Its $10 if I was the manager I wouldve pulled $10 out of my pocket and made sure the customer was taken care of. The fact that they had been open all day and had no customers should say enough on its own. Alex the manager told me to come back later to get the refund and He might have the money, ha ha yeah right I wont be going back there ever. They can keep my $10 its the principle of what they did that matters to me more than the money.

I was the first one at the shop to have a remote start/alarm installed on my truck. They told me it would be done by 1pm. At 4:30pm I hadnt heard from them so I called to check. They didnt finish until 6:30pm. They had my truck the whole day for a 3 hr install. I think since I dropped it off they jumped other jobs ahead of me cuz they knew It was a drop off. This is the second time its happened to me. I wont be doing business here anymore.

I had a remote start installed in my F150 a couple months back, the overall experience exceeded expectations. As noted by others, there could be a significant wait time, 4-6+hrs. Be smart and prearrange to have someone pick you up. This way youre not stuck waiting around. Keep in mind, it takes a couple of hours to install a remote start, and there may be a few cars scheduled before you. I dropped by the store with the intent of getting one of their cheaper remote starts installed, these are often advertised through fliers, online etc. It just so happened that they were out of that particular model when I visited. Rather than turn me away, the manager upgraded me to a Viper system with security alarm + remote start, all at no additional cost!!

Ive been screwed over by another audio shop in the past, so I was a bit hesitant to take my car anywhere to begin with, other than working on it myself.However, after seeing the reviews I drove here (about 30 minutes from my place) to get a headunit installed. I went in for installing remote car start. These guys are very professional and honest about wait times and offers. Prices are better then online. Store manager and the technician made sure the job was done beyond the working hours they even waited for me beyond store hours. They did not rip me off by upselling unwanted addon parts. Hands down best place you want to take your car to have top of the line products installed by top of the line professionals.I needed a remote starter for my 2014 Fusion. I diligently shopped all the other stores and installers in the area and chose Mickey Shorr for several reasons.Jason, whome I delt with, not only took the time to ask me questions about what I wanted in a remote start, but also explained the pros and cons of each.He also gave me options. I had done research and thought I knew what I was looking for but Jason took the time to explain that might not be the best option and provided a better option that was the same price. Then he showed me several other remote starters that had the options I was looking for but, as the options got better the price went up.So I had my basic, mid grade, and high end options that all had the important function that I said was a must in order for me to consider to purchase.The 4 other places I went to either said I couldnt have that option and immediately offered the most expensive starter they offered or seemed to be more interested in their phone then trying to get my business.Long review I know and I apologise, but after I made my purchase Jason picked a good day for me to come in and have it installed. A few days before that date I had some free time so I called to see if he could fit me in and they had an open spot and I had my new starter installed in 3 hours and it works fantastic. Jason even offered to give me a ride home if I didnt have one when I dropped my car off.TL;DR Great customer service, professional installers, more then competitive pricing, and willing to go the extra mile to make sure you have a positive experience.Highly highly recommend!!

Bad radio (sony)Being an older car that I dont use often I didnt want to to be sold things I didnt need.Jason replaced it with a JVC unit that seems even better than what I had and very reasonably priced. Took a total of 45 minutes. And he tuned it for me and set up blue tooth.I highly recommend going here. Thank you Jason and your staff.

O gas a very positive experience at the garden city location today. I had the pleasure to deal with Jason today. I came on to have a remote starter installed on my truck, Jason explained everything in great detail, even when another customer came in asking simile questions to mine He was ale to communicate effectively with both of us simultaneously which is a feat in itself. He did not try to upsell me on unnecessary products or additions which is a rarity these day. My vehicle sas complete in approximately the timeframe quoted dave an unanticipated issue with the installed product which sas rectified. So far i am completely satisfied with my visit the price and the work performed. I have no hesitation being a repeat customer if the need arises.

I called in advance and told them I was driving and hour to get to their location and wanted to know if there was going to be any complication? Alex told me no, we can get you in when you get here and it will be a 4 hour install. After driving an hour and getting there, they told me it would be 4 hours before they could get my car in and it would be another 4 hours for the install. Then the associate told me it was my fault for driving an hour down there because they dont do appointments. If this wasnt bad enough, as this is going on, Alex is trying to make a sale to the customer behind me and he tells him the exact same thing. I asked him why he just the customer he could get that customer in right away and then he corrected himself and said it would be a 4 hour wait and the customer could leave and they would call him when they were available, which sounds an awful lot like an appointment to me. IMHO, I would never trust someone this dishonest in my car, Id be too afraid someone like this would break something and then lie about it.

Excellent service and employees will be going back for future purchases.

I have no idea how the staff like Bryan the Manager, Mike the installer and Joe the assistant manager still have jobs. I recently went back to this Mickey Shore in Troy after many years living in another state. When I was a teenager I remember spending a lot of Money to make sure that my car was equipped with all the lasted and greatest electronics for this particular Mickey Shore Location. Needless to say I went back December 13th 2011, and Bryan the “new store manager”, which he was just a salesperson several years ago, was running the store. All I can say is that “ Wow how things have changed”. In todays economy most companies are under staffed especially in MI, and to think that a business can survive with having the WORST customer service and staff available is a shame! This place Sucks TRUST ME! I’ve purchased many electronics in my life at Mickey Shore and Places Like Best Buy, I’ve even installed remote starts, car alarms and Car Audio systems many times in my life ( which Im AES certified) And I’ve check there installed product and a 5th grader can do better, and these guys a complete HACKS!
