They estimated one week to overhaul a cylinder head I supplied, it was already disassembled and ready for cleaning and machining. It was not finished for six weeks and required multiple phone calls. The cylinder head was not cleaned at all. They painted over grease to make the cylinder head look like it had been cleaned, but it is clear it was never cleaned before, or after machine work; lots of metal remained in the intake/exhaust ports. In order to complete the job correctly I will need to take the cylinder head apart to clean everything up. Very disappointed with the quality of service overall and the additional time required compared to the estimate.

I had my 2004 Dodge Ram 4.7L rebuilt and picked it up on 09/03/2019. I was given invoice# 204431 and paid $2600.00 in cash. I have never driven the truck out of the metroplex and babied it. One morning i went out and started my truck to let it warm up. After several minutes it began to bellow white smoke and this terrified me because this happened before my rebuild. After about 20 min the white smoke went away and so I continued to work. I called Elpino and advised what happened and I was advised to check anti freeze level. Then of course it was immediately assumed that it may have ran hot. I advised No that this occurred during warm up. So then I was reminded of the warranty only being 1 year and it would cost to have it looked at. I said no problem when can I get it in. I was then told to wait until after the new year because they were sooo busy and if brought now it would just sit. Well after going to run an errand I returned to my truck and the motor would not rotate to start. This was due to one of the cylinders filling with coolant due to possible head gasket failure. I towed it the motor shop here in Dallas where I live. Yes the motor fell apart and now Im in middle of another rebuild. The new company gave me a little discount after showing receipt from Elpino. Please go or find a shop willing to give a warranty longer than 1yr. If you read most reviews rebuilds fall apart just after the 1 yr warranty expire. I decided to just cut my ties with Elpino as I bought another truck and saved money for second rebuild for my daughter. I really believed in their work and they let me down. I really feel like I got robbed for my hard earned money. If you decided to ignore this understand that no matter what the circumstances. Elpinos response immediately to any problems with workmanship ................WILL BE YOUR FAULT . Good luck to anyone that ignores this warning

I took my sons 09 Mini Cooper S into the shop. Francisco took the time to explain everything wrong with the motor and what they would do to rebuild the engine. They texted me pictures of the engine which was leaking oil everywhere! Francisco explained they do OEM rebuilds. When I got it back the engine looked, sounded and ran like new! I had an engine light came on and called and brought it back to be checked. It was nothing to do with the build. However Francisco took the time to explain and fix it for me. The rates are very affordable, the service was on time and service after the fact has been great! I would recommend this El Pino to anyone! Thank you Francisco!Even though it was OEM its faster!

12-18-19Beware of this place!!!Before hand I read some of the reviews and weighed the good with the bad eventually going with the good.I couldnt have made a worse choice.Rebuilt a 5.7 hemi $3000Had issues from first week but got better.7 months later different issues so bad I took it back in. They blamed me. Said it overheated. Didnt think so but they were the professionals and after $1000 more took the truck home.3 months later it died while driving. Called to say I was bringing it back in, Jr. Without seeing the truck blamed me and said they wouldnt fix it for free and that I did something to the truck. ITS UNDER WARRANTY!!!!!Or phone conversation didnt go that welland afraid for then to touch my truck I had another ship look at it.They found that the timing chain had broken. New shop feeling bad for us caked El Pino to try and explain what was wrong with it and see if they would fix it. Jr. Blamed us again and told him it would be $1000 -$1500 for then to fix it. ITS UNDER WARRANTY!!!!!New shop with my permission began work on the truck to fix it and after tearing it down found that the cause of the break was due to one bolt not being tightenedHolding the camshaft in places. This caused from day 1 the camshaft to have play and eventually weari6down and wobbling do much it broke the sprocket that turns the timing chain which caused the chain to break and bending 3 valves as of first inspection. Heads are being sent to a machine shop for inspection and no telling what other damage this has caused.VERY POOR WORKMANSHIP WAS THE CAUSE!!!I believe now that there first rine it went back, their reason was an absolute lie!! I paid $1000 more and they tried to use tube same excuse this time.Im glad I found a trustworthy shop now. I sure wish ID NEVER HEARD OF EL PINO!HORRIBLE PLACE,HORRIBLE PEOPLE!DO NOT USE THIS SHOP FIR ANYTHING!Litigation coming.Cory

Honestly, i researched and researched a ton of places that repaired the 4.7 dodge engines. Dodge has had issues with the 4.7 from 2002-2008 . Unfortunately my 2007 jeep commander limited got one of the trouble engines. They have oiling issues which cause catastrophic engine failure. Hard to get parts to repair and buying another engine is pretty costly for these. Nine months later, i ran across EL PINO Engine repair who specialize in doing these Dodge 4.7 engines. They quoted me a very fair price and gave me a fair turn around time for completion. Was very skeptical, but towed the Jeep from Austin to Dallas, which is about 3 hrs away. They really came through. Sure, the customer service could be a bit more organized and maybe have a translator, lol. Overall i can honestly say i am completely satisfied with everything. Even though they had a break in and my high dollar stereo was stolen, they credited off my bill and took care of me. I highly recommend this place if you face the same problem as i have.Thank again Francisco!

Took my truck to this place due to misfire on cylinders 1,5,7. They quoted me 2 weeks. 3 Weeks later I got my truck back ticking horribly. And all of the sudden the air conditioner was not working. Before I got back to work the check engine light came on. Took the truck back to El Pino, They gave me lots of excuses and a week later told me my truck was ready again. I picked it up with a horrible ticking noise and before I got back to work the check engine light came on again. Took the truck back to El Pino, They gave me lots of excuses and a week later told me my truck was ready again. Finally the ticking is gone but the Air Conditioner is not working and the check engine light came on before I got back to work.Unless if you like problems do not use these guys. They talk a nice game but they do not deliver on time or provide quality service.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! I had them rebuild my dodge 4.7L engine and the rebuild only lasted approx 14,000 miles before the rear main seal failed, along with gaskets leaking allowing antifreeze into the engine. I shared my receipt that showed everything they replaced, along with the mileage when these issues came up. I had the truck towed to their shop on July 22nd. I followed up on July 30th and asked Francisco for an update on my truck. His response was, “which one is your truck?” After I explained which truck was mine he said he would take a look and call me back. He called back the next day July 31st and advised they would need to rebuild the engine again and would not warranty anything even though I’d only put 14,000 miles on the rebuild. I told him I was not comfortable paying them again to do the same work if it’s only going to last 14,000 miles. Francisco said ok, and he would call me when my truck was ready to be picked up. After not hearing anything from Francisco, I contacted him on August 8th asking when I could come pick up my truck. His response again was, “which one is your truck?” I explained to him which truck was mine again and asked him why hadn’t he called me to let me know when I could pick up my truck. His response was, “you decided not to let us fix is so I don’t know what to tell you, you can come pick it up now”. When I asked him why couldn’t he just call me he could not give me an answer. I also explained to him that I’m his customer who has spent money with him that I should at least be able to get some customer service. He didn’t agree and was not interested in an apology! Awful service and their rebuild only lasted me 14,000 miles!!

The price for the engine repair changed from the price I was told over the phone, when I went in to pick of the vehicle. Ridiculous surprise after an extremely long repair. I travelled 5 blocks and the vehicle dropped dead at a signal light. I called back to the shop, I spoke with Francisco. He decided to share with me that he had driven the vehicle without any problem and the issue is probably the battery. In my opinion, extremely slow, poor service and a total lack of business acumen.

I am very disappointed. We took our 2006 Jeep WK there and they could not rebuild it but took our money. We took it back to them numerous times. They said it was the transmission. We spent $2000 rebuliding the transmission and took it back to them, they still could not fix the oil leaks. Like I said they took our money and that was all they did.
