Vanessa and Chris did a great job communicating with me. They listened to what I needed for my boat service, which was a lot, and addressed every item with me. I came away with a wonderfully working boat and the price was very reasonable. I will bring my boat back if/when it needs anything.
Very friendly place. I believe Vanessa is her name at the front counter? Took great care of me this weekend and helped me acquire some hard to find Suzuki replacment parts. Thank you for getting my family back out on the water this weekend. God bless.
This is a family love these guys.. They have took care of our first boat we boat and always helpful. Honestly and effort go hand and hand. Salute Nortex
Friendly and thorough service. First time using them, will be back for sure. Chris was a nice guy and knowledgeable.
Vanessa was terrific. She was very helpful and went out of her way to try and please.
Great guys, will helped me diagnose my problem with my motor and was able to figure out the issue, I had spun my hub on my old 1971 johnson, now Im just ordering a new one. Thank you guys . Most people try to sell you a new motor they helped keep mine alive. Eternally grateful 🙏
I dont understand these bad reviews. I brought my boat in today and, Chris installed my trolling motor within an hour, with excellent craftsmanship. I have also used them in the past, with my other boats. Good, friendly people and excellent service! Thanks Nortex Marine. I will be a customer for life!
The staff did a great job of taking care of us. I traded in my Bayliner and got a fair price. Then the used Chaparral I bought was detailed and all the problems solved even including a new motor due to the winter freeze cracking the block. Even then they kept fixing all the boat and trailer issues until I was satisfied. Repeat: they took great care of us and I’ll bring my business there again.
I’ve been reading some of these reviews and I wonder, did you really take your boat here? I’ve been taking mine there since I bought it in 2011. Everything was explained and they did what they told me. One thing, my boat is 10 years old and has around 70 hours on it. So to be nice, I take care of something I pay that much money for. If I hot rod it, don’t change the oil, keep fresh gas in it and keep it clean, I can’t be mad at someone that has to clean up after me. Boats are like dogs, children, cars, house and everything else. Nor Tex has always treated us professionally. Someone stole our battery as we replaced and the stole our gas and left the draw tube exposed to rain. Out in the middle of the lake it died and not start. Our gauge showed full as they cut wires as well. Within 45 minutes Nor Tex was there to tow us in, helped loading and completed the repair and we were back on the water in less than 2 weeks. That’s was during the summer and that is peek boat season. I will not trust anyone except the team at Nor Tex. It’s called integrity and they have shown us that.
I went to the shop and asked how soon they would be able to get my boat in. The response was they collect a up front $200 fee to keep place in line. Who does that? The only reason to collect a $200 up front fee is to hope that someone does not come back, or to take your boat in and keep it for a long time. No reputable shop charges up front fees to keep place in line...beware.
Great service I would highly recommend it if you need a boat right kind of ski fixed or repaired
This place is nothing but a bunch of liars and I had to replace the waterI had to replace the water pumpA narrator for people.I bought a boat in them give $8,000 for it they never took it out and tested it they lied and said they didI had to replaceI had to replace the
***Don’t do it. You will be sorry if you do.***Shade tree at best. The work they do is half a**, and lacking consistency. Got my boat back with hull damage and of course nobody knows nothing about it. I had to leave boat additional days so they can rework what they were suppose to n the first place. No warranty on work, Super bad first experience. I dropped 5k to service my boat and got it back with 3k worth of hull damage.
Had a new motor installed and some console work. Wonderful service. Beautiful job. I would recommend Nortex Marine to anyone and I will be taking my boat there for any future service.
We took our 2001 Crownline to them to have a Gimble Bearing replaced. When I picked it up, the speedometer didnt work anymore, and it popped from forward to reverse. I took it back and they said it was the cable. They supposedly fixed it. In doing so, the tore my backseat, and put the glove box in upside down. They told me at 5pm it was not ready, then at 5:30 they said it was ready. They charged me $130 for a lake test, but there is no way that they lake tested it during rush hour traffic in Garland I30 in that 30 minutes window, and the problem was not fixed. I wont be back.
Great experience and great service they keep you informed about your boat very good communication there customer
Do not take your boat to Nortex Marine unless you want delays, unjustified bills and missing parts! Nortex Marine kept my Malibu ski boat for months and then returned it in the same non-running condition and without a $1,398 brand new ECM they told me to order and then confirmed they received at their shop. To top it off, they also billed me for the experience and required me to pay to get my boat back. When I discovered they had just put the old ECM on the boat, they claimed it was the new model even though it was clearly old and the model number and serial number did not match.
Should have read the reviews first. I had the same experience. (Has boat for 2 months - waiting on parts etc. etc.). The mechanic “kept on finding issues” with my boat. I originally brought the boat in for a diagnostic on speed loss due to a bent prop issue and a tune up. They said my yoke just went bad - it now vibrates when turning sharply. It never vibrated until I went to this shop. Said It will be ok for a season or two, but will eventually go bad. Also stated I needed a new throttle lever and cable. The original quote of $2600 was well above $5200 when they were done. Upon pickup I was skeptical of the repairs so I asked to see the receipts for the parts purchased to fix my boat, “Tony” stated we don’t show customers the receipts, a hand written receipt is what they give and it would be ok. Still feeling uneasy I asked for the old parts from my boat - wouldn’t you believe it - they were thrown away??? To top it off, they said my blower and a bilge pump needed to be replaced- I refused service- when I went to leave, I was missing my drain plug and latch down straps. “Tony” walked to another person’s boat and gave me their drain plug, and $20.00 for my missing straps. My gel coat was scratched/gouged but they denied the damage. I got the boat home and went to check out the bad fan and pump. The pump had the wires cut, and the fan had a bad fuse. I have not put my boat back in the lake yet due to possible bad weather, but will this weekend, so not to sure of the repair. I warn all to stay away. This place is bad news, take your money elsewhere. WARNING - FIND SOMEONE ELSE. GO TO A REPUTABLE MECHANIC.
The lady Vanessa that answers the phone is the most unprofessional piece of trash any business should avoid because it’s just bad business . She sounds like she is out of breath when answers and then hangs up as if she doesn’t have a responsibility as an employee . She treats phone calls like it’s a burden to her life ..... what kind of employee is that ??????.... Trash ...
Man!!!! I had one heck of a positive experience buying my FIRST BOAT!!! Chris is the man to see at Nortex!!! Relaxed environment and he does not rush!He made sure everything fit my budget and made sure I got EXACTLY what I wanted. He went ABOVE and BEYOND his job description, to make sure that I was happy!!! Go give Chris a holler and tell him that Jared refereed you!!! You won’t regret it.Thank you Chris, for making 2019 a year to remember!
DO NOT TAKE YOUR BOAT TO THIS SHOP!!!! My boat sat there for nearly two months. I took the boat there because it overheated. The main wiring harness was burnt where it had come in contact with the exhaust. NorTex Marine repair estimate was nearly $8500. The total repair estimate was nearly $4600, with labor at around $3100. The rest of the bill was shop supplies and tax. I picked up my boat and had to pay $608 to get my boat and a cardboard box of all my parts. My new boat cover was ripped on the box and stern sections because they let it turn into a play pool filled with rain water. Just fantastic! I took the boat home and cut out the 8 inches of melted wiring harness and ordered parts on the internet. My total parts bill was under $600 and I had it running and on the lake two days later.
About To Be Under New Management❤️👍🏾❗️Mr. Roberts Is InDeed A Top Notch, Honorable Man, With High Integrity And Big Dreams For The DFW Area❤️👍🏾❗️
Had all the parts I needed for my Bayliner, great staff that is very knowledgeable. Tried to buy extra parts just in case I may need them on this project but they told me to try other small things that are likely to be the culprit before spending my money on the more expensive parts that are more than likely not the issue. Couldnt be more pleased with the service, and as a pretty knowledgeable technician myself I cannot express how satisfied I am with this place. Super great job! Will be back for ALL my parts needs in the future and support small local business.
I took my boat in to have the tilt trim fixed on my bass boat. After several weeks I called to see what the progress was. I was told they dont make the parts anymore but they found a used unit on ebay at $ 570.00. I waited all together 7 weeks and was told it was ready to go. Upon arrival I found out they had left the cover off my boat and it had about 250 gallons of water inside and was filled with dirt and trash. They charged me $ 909.00 in parts and $ 600.00 in labor which I thought was excessive. I would not recommend the company as they are not professional and over charged. Overall I would give them 1 star. Dont wast your time.
Nortex installed a open array radar on my Cruisers 3750 and I was impressed on how they listened to what I was looking for and they worked with the transport company to install a transducer on very short notice. I was around a lot while the install was being done and Robert, the technician was very knowledgeable to all my questions during the process. He pointed out some issues during the installation and took care of them too at my request and that really meant a lot to me. He showed me some of the basics of operating the unit as I had never operated a radar before. I am confident we have built a relationship that will give me confidence in using Nortex for many future projects on my new boat.A goodboat mechanic is so nice to have. I also want to thank Tony for making sure I was happy. I would highly recommend Nortex to anybody.
Helpful people
BE AWARE of this place. Totally disappointed, DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. They never tell the truth, just a lot of excuses, nobody is able to tell you what is happening, the summer is over, thank you for NOTHING
AVOID NORTEX...they are kind, but not mechanically inclined, SLOW TO REPAIR, and totally unorganized! Initially we used Nortex because of it’s partnership with Chris @Sound Shack. Sound shack has always taken very good care of us. Chris has installed systems in all our vehicles, and updated the system in our boat. If you need radio/system work, CHRIS IS THE GUY....but not Nortex for boat repairs! So we took our boat to Nortex for minor maintenance concerns- post winter in prep for summer usage. We were told the parts/updates needed & the potential costs. After 3+ weeks in the shop, the parts never were ordered and it was Memorial Day....time to take the boat out. They even said “sorry we got busy and dropped the ball on your boat!” Thats verbatim from Tony-the owner! So we said we are coming for our boat. They said bring it back after the holiday and we will get you fixed up. Regretfully....We took the boat back, it sat there for 5+ weeks. (Now over 2 months in the shop for 2019 summer) Nothing repaired except a minor cruise control setting and they had to have the Malibu manufacturing company WALK THEM through the entirety of the repairs. We left with out boat still not completely repaired/updated & took it to a Malibu dealership.
Excellent service, great customer service I would recommend to anyone that wants 💯.
Nortex kept our boat for over 6 months giving us various excuses. Finally, they returned it to us saying a wiring problem had been fixed and it had been lake tested, which was a considerable charge. When we finally got it back, it still didnt run. Not wanting to have it kept another 6 months, we found a mechanic who diagnosed the problem and fixed it. He said the wiring hadnt been touched and there was no way they could have lake tested it. Nortex charged us over $1,000 for nothing. They are liars and cheats! Find another place with integrity and honesty to get your boat fixed. This should have zero stars.
Great Shop!! They are very reasonable and Professional. The only place I will trust with my boat!!
Ok, so I bought a boat from nortex Marine from Chris, he seemed to be a nice guy. Two years later I have never received my title or boat registration. I paid cash for the boat and cash for tax title and license. The only reason I bought that old boat for the amount I paid is because I thought I was dealing with good people. Dont be fooled by anyone up there. They will take your money, but they will not deliver on there contractual agreement. I now have the parks and wildlife on them and a lawyer getting ready to sue. They owe me 4700.oo on a boat they sold me that they themselves dont own or have a title. I looked up the boat I purchased only to find it belongs to another finance company. It has a lien. Dont trust these people. Especially the owner Tony Vastano. I had this boat in my driveway ruining for two years and he had the gut to tell me he cant buy it back because of the value the boat had lost. Expect this company to no longer be in business very soon!!
The absolute worst place to do business, take your business to people who actually want your business, these guys aint it, I can not believe how poor customer service is, very unhappy camper!
CROOKS! Rip offs! These people are the worst! Promised a replacement wear ring and impeller for $940.00 Called the next day and said the jetski motor was blown!? Really? Says it will be another $1300.00 for a rebuild. Told them no just wanted to pick up the jetski. Told me $700 CASH ONLY, (weird huh?) Shady Shady Shady... Get home check to make sure the parts and repair I actually PAID for were done, NOPE! Same impeller, all he did was grind it and put it back on. What a bunch of lying, cheating, crooks...... Stay as far away from this place as you can!
Great place for you to get your PWC repair done by my friend and brother Tommy
Great guys and service, always very friendly staff
Took my 29 ft Sea Ray to Nortex to have the generator pulled and replaced. They pulled it in 2 days, I sent the Genset to Florida at end of March 2017 to be rebuild then got it back 2 months later at beginning of June 2017. I had a contract to sell the boat to a family in Colorado. They were in contact with Tony for several months and Tony said boat was ready to pick up by first week in July. They arrived from Denver to complete the transaction and suddenly the boat is not ready at all. This is the tip of the iceburg. The boat set down there for another 9 months without being worked on at all. Every time I called it was one excuse after another. Finally in March of 2018 I called Tony and said I was coming to pick it even if it wasnt done. 4 days later they said it was complete and had been lake tested. I picked it up with a damaged bimini, dirty cockpit carpet, greasy seat, missing bow pad, rain in the cabin because they left it open when it rained, ruined depth sounder, ruined GPS, broken navigation/anchor light, windlass and anchor was not on boat, broken ladder, fiberglass was completely destroyed. I put the boat in the water and port engine would not start nor would the lower unit trim down. Pulled it back out and sent to different mechanic. $678 to get port engine running and lower unit trims to work. $700 to get figerglass compounded out. $400 for a new bow pad, $350 for a new back rest. They also put 3 holes in the captain bench seat. boat ran so bad when I put it in this time that I barely got it to the slip. Had oil changed in both engines just to find out that the starboard engine had water in it, They didnt even winterize the engine so the block cracked. Now I am having a new engine installed at the cost of $5690. I suspect I will be spending at least $500 to get the port engine running properly. This is not even all of the expenses that I have incurred just to sell the boat. When I delivered the boat it was immaculate and needed only a genset swap. simple and easy 30 hour job. They charged me for 50 hrs and were so generous and kind enough to give me a $500 discoount (sarcasm) I will say they did repair the bimini top but didnt have enough courtesy to call and let me know it was done and to come pick it up. I am out over $13,000 on a job that should have no more $6500. Including the cost of generator rebuild. You would have to be the most desperate person in the world to let these guys work on anything you own. Absolutely zero communication for anybody there. I went by numerous times to see what was going on just to find out that Tony nor the mechanic that was working on the boat were there. Good luck if take your boat to these guys.
I havent been yet due to my work schedule but why is there still not a website for inventory to look at?
Great service
