Nice place but no water pressure in showers. You would be better off using the hose in the fuel island. Water was about as warm. Not worth $15.00 or wasting one of your shower credits. Disappointing to say the least.

This is one of the biggest truck stops in the Chicago metro area. Coming in before 8:00pm Ive never had a problem getting a spot to park my rig for the night. My only complaint is that the plandemic has really screwed up their supply chain so the 3 fast food joints here are ALWAYS out of something or another.

I stopped to have my coolant reservoir replaced, along with a pair of attached plastic pipes. One of the pipes was replaced at a different shop, with a clamped hose, causing the fitting to break off, leading to coolant loss. I specifically requested to have the reservoir replaced, and asked about those coolant pipes, knowing that if they were not part of the fix, I will have problems down the road. Does the reservoir come with those hard plastic pipes? Losing one is why I am sidelined. I need to eliminate this problem. A question, and related statement, said for the purpose of making sure of no bandaid repair.A few hours later, I walk over to check on the progress, to find that my tractor is ready. Strangely, I received no call, though a text, which also did not occur, would have sufficed. I take my tractor, get back under my trailer, and bed down to salvage some of the sleep I had already missed.Two days later, I arrive at my shipper, steam billowing from under the hood. My brand new reservoir is empty, the hose used in a bandaid repair is present(!), and still attached, but the original remaining plastic pipe, has popped off. I reattached it, eliminating the leak, and refilled the reservoir.This made me VERY angry, because I specifically asked about those hard plastic pipes, and whether they were included with the reservoir. They were the ENTIRE REASON I had to go to the shop in the first place. The pipes are not included. Do you want us to add/order them? Instead, I did NOT get that call/text. When I walked over, because NO ONE CALLED AT ALL, there was no mention of any of this.Luckily, I keep extra fluids on hand, but this is one for the books. TA has PERMANENTLY lost my confidence in their shops, for anything other than tires.

Shelby at parts/service department was very rude to customers on the phone needing help and asking questions. She rolled her eyes several times. I needed a small part for the truck. She informed my they have no coin change in the store. Other cashiers have the same bad attitude towards people that was in there this evening. So what happens at the end of the shift when drawers get counted. Who is putting money in there pocket because of not giving change to customers.

A diamond in the rough. While they do have reserved parking its maybe 10% of the lot and even at 12 am theres spots available in the back lot. Theres a taco bell and a Quaker State plus the barber shop upstairs. Showers are clean (got old school keeping em clean for us drivers) and the barber shop is hands down one of THE best barber shops you can go to. They also have armed guards (side arm, and some vairent of an ar platform in the vehicles they drive) patrolling the lots along with the occasional gary pd officers patrolling the lot.

There is no reason for this parking lot not to have been plowed in so long. It’s incredibly rough. Unacceptable.

A liked the new look when we first went inside. Completely updated from previous inside of the building for the truck stop. The food here was ok not the best. I give it a rate of 3 mostly because my grilled chicken was burned on one side and the cook forgot my sauce to be put on the wrap. I did receive the sauce after I realize it wasnt there but who puts cold sauce on a warm sandwich? The macaroni and cheese was a -3 because the noodles were under cooked and the cheese was like they mixed in to much water in the cheese sauce.

I have to give this T/A Travel center mechanic shop 4 stars for being so clean, lots of parking. Couldnt even see any trash any where in the parking lot, bathrooms are really clean, Patrol car watching all the time. Lots of different food storesPilot trucks stop right across the road walking distance, liquid store, pizza restaurant, even a Adult books store. People acting like its a regular grocery store walking in and out waving at each other saying hello..Its a older truck stopped inside and out but its good.. I would make this my regular stopping place when I come threw again..Its not the Sheraton hotel dont count on vala parking or porter to grab your bags when your going to take a shower.. Its a truck stop...

By far, the biggest TA location I’ve been to yet. This place has everything, and with large quantities. The parking lot looks like a small airport strip, with over 300 parking spots. Everything you’d expect to see at a truck stop, plus more; there’s even a barber shop on the second floor. Parking lot smells like urine. Some drivers don’t want to walk the distance to the washroom. Be careful at this place. Looks like some locals wondering around and some with baseball bats. They have a security guard on duty driving around but a lot that’s going to do when it only takes minutes to get robbed. The security guard woke me up from a dead of sleep last night because the decided to make my spot a reserved parking spot. Very rude! I’ll stay clear of this hell hole next time.

Huge truck parking lot with a lot of food options like taco bell,pizza hut,subway and a liquor store, pizza closeby plus JJ fish and chips, awesome place to sleep.

As a drivers if the wheels aren’t turning we aren’t earning. That being said I was informed by my company that my truck needed a PM and DOT inspection. So I proceeded to the TA here in Gary, IN to get said work done. I checked in at exactly 13:45 and was told I had roughly a 4hr wait. After 5hrs 18:45 I checked back in and there was still 2 trucks ahead of me meanwhile no one has told me anything so 3hrs later 21:45 I check back in only to be told I was next in line but probably wouldn’t get pulled in until midnight because of the time that the next mechanic was to arrive. And so here it is 03:00 the next day and I’m still waiting to get pulled in, but now I’ve got another truck in front of me ( which mind you they put in front of me because of my DOT inspection) and probably won’t get in until 5am. Almost exactly 14hrs after the fact. The TA Gary, IN service department is trash and they don’t give a Damn!!! About you or your time don’t come here for anything.

The scoreboard barbershop is amazing! Gave my old man the best cut he’s had in years. Extremely polite and down to earth. Highly recommended place to go for hair cuts.

No sit down restaurant any more. Restaurants are not open 24/7, the service shop is useless and will flat out ignore your presence. Staff is unfriendly for the most part the one star given covers the friendly staff as thats all they have to offer. Diesel price is currently 3.61 for credit on 10/11/18. Definitely go to Lake Station over here any day.

The place is okay now I be been here before this is my 2nd time here and they are doing renovations for a new restaurant Quaker steak but the 2nd shift security was a little rude when I parked my truck she jumps out the security car like police asking me for certain document to park ( I like can I put my truck in Neutral 1st) and why question me when i didnt do anything wrong.. but the staff at the restaurant T.B. N P.H was nice but at the store part was unprofessional she acted like she didnt want to work. But hope big changes coming soon. If not I will give pilot my business. 3 stars for parking only. This place is a dump. They have Gay, I mean Gary police as security. One certain officer thinks he is the only one that should have a pistol. Apparently a CPL and your Constitutional right to carry has no bearing in this place. He actually told me that the manager had asked me to leave. Then went to the manager and asked why I had to leave and she didnt know what I was talking about. I politely told the officer that he was a liar and the manager did not ask me to leave. I then told him that he had no right to make me. I have done nothing wrong. I told him if there were any further issues that he could contact his CO to rectify the situation. I dont think he likes me.......

The wings were smaller than frozen wings at the grocery store. I guess they place the sauce on the side now. The lube has went straight down the toilet since getting bigger. The staff at the truck stop are good people though

7 hour wait to get into the shop. The waitress has the personality of a dung beetle. Lot of parking and the majority is free unlike a lot of TA and Petros.

I come to this to your location regularly do I really like the location has good parking. That is really good restaurants inside. Has a trucker lounge upstairs. The customer service is usually good there was plenty of parking spaces and fuel isles. Theres another truck stop across the street. And theres a JJs fish also cross the street which I love to eat at.

Had to have trailer lights repaired. In and out within 2 hours and under $200. Plus the cashier in there store was really friendly. For being 3 am, it wasnt crowded any there were still a few parking spots left

Washed laundry, driers broke down on me manager didnt even want to refund any money. cashier was more worried about a personal phone call to even listen. well so much for my quick in and out. showers were clean though. A nice change with the steak and lube. They were nice.

Very large and clean parking for truckers. Security personnel on hand at night doing patrol. Inside of the store was clean and well stocked.

The Quaker steak and lube joint has the SMALLEST WINGS.......2 bites and that’s it......they need to order the large or jumbo wings......shameful

They try hard here. The effort is obvious. But the area is garbage & truckstops inevitably attract...umm... undesirable elements.I just got here and already have heard 2 gunshots. Or fireworks. It aint a truck noise. Its gunpowder for sure.

Horrible service. They denied responsibility for my truck being disabled when I left. When it was in service when I came. Then tried to say it was a coincidence so I’d have to pay them again to get service. Then they lied and told me they’d send a mechanic to service me and never showed up. Don’t listen to “Stirling” he will gas you up with no intention on actually being of service.

Always a place to park here. Plenty of amenities. No more Country Pride though. Steak n lube wasnt too bad. The fish n fries were outstanding! And there is a Pilot across the street and a party center and a few other shops to keep a body preoccupied.

Awesome TA! The mechanics are very knowledgeable and capable. My truck was fixed in a timely fashion. They were all friendly throughout the store and willing to go the extra mile. My experience was extremely wonderful!

This place is huge like any Travel Center of America. I have just about everything. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Its right off of Highway in Gary and they keep the place pretty clean.They have a good selection of different food. Plenty of space to sit down and relax and eat.

Karen @ the cashier is the mask police. She will call u out and tell u to wear your mask as soon as u walk in the door😂🤣

Excellent trk stop!! This place covers everything that a trucker could ask for. Friendly helpful staff and really good food. In fact today when I stop by I thought Id have a burrito you know for a change of pace. so Ill end up going to the Taco Bell there and had one of the best absolute best burritos Ive had in a long time so Props to Taco Bell, and its friendly and workers. Avoid this TA if at all possible. For over a year now the Fuel pump are jacked up.. You never know if the pumps will work at all or just pump out at a trickle.mng. knows TA Corp. know & wont do anything to fix it. If your Low on your DOT clock dont go here.

I was waiting for more than 8 hours to change a tire too slow the workers, not wanting to come back again, I lost my delivery as they promised to take the work in less than 4 hours and it took more than 8 hours

The worst possible truck service ever. I requested ultimate pm service. They charged $442 and they didnt change the air filter. But they charged $19 for filter change labor.After I came back they told me the ultimate service does not include air filter. So the most expensive service DOES NOT INCLUDE AIR FILTER ?? Then why do they charge for it ?!?And they got me $7 back instead of $19. And than they replaced air filter and charged me $212 !!So if you want to go broke, just stop in here to do your service and they will make sure you dont have any money left!!

Took my trailer in due to a hanging mud flap and ABS light. Professional and speedy service. Technician managed to reattach the hanging mud flap and correct the trailer ABS issue within a reasonable amount of time .

This location was very nice and clean. Ladies restroom was very clean. Nice staff! Would recommend this place! Very impressed!

This truck stop has improved dramatically since the last time I was there in the 90s. Kudos TA.

One of my favorite TA to visit. Like the restaurant, the store, facilities. I just have lost all love and respect for the shop. It no longer have the staff available when I need my 120 inspection. Last few times Ive called or visited the wait time was ridiculously long. I like the place, but the shop doesnt seem as efficient as it can be.

Very clean and accommodating and the staff had masks on.

They are remodeling so there are no restaurants open here at all. Small store. Nice drivers lounge, clean showers and nice laundry facilities. There is a Subway across the street at another truck stop. 3 small restaurants across the street. Ricos pizza is awesome.

I have a badly experience wit this service location...come with some issues on the trailer and mechanic not fix it but charge me 222$ for labor.... so come with problem and after 3,5h including wast of time for waiting line -living this service with some problem but with out 222$... so few hours ago stop by Love’s and mechanic fix it for 15 min and charge 37$... can you believe it??? So never stop here for service.. very unprofessional and lazy

Were very helpful helping me find the light I needed to replace and as soon as there were to many people in line they got more staff to cover checkout. Very impressed on customer service and everyone was super friendly

This place is the worst place I have every been. Stop by to get diesel. Diesel pump wasn’t working and they didn’t even close the pump line. I had change the pump three times. Next I visited for quick fuel up and shower. Showers are good and clean but the staff knock the door every 10-minutes I have no idea why. I yelled them couple times “it’s busy” but they keep knock.

Josh and his team do a great job! I went in for an oil change like I always do at TA - but there are a few across the nation that I specifically send my drivers to. This is one of them. They realized after changing the fuel filters that there was a leak impairing the rest of the oil change and had to stop. After seeing that they charged for filters without doing the oil change, I was a bit frustrated. After Josh explained why (you first change fuel filters, fire up the engine, change the others, etc on a DD15) and that this was procedure, he still went out of his way to make sure my customer service needs were met. Working with me, we came upon an agreement that was super fair. I appreciate this effort. Finding a repair shop away from home can be difficult - i have been ripped off many times (Avoid Three Jays Onsite Repair) and to know I have a trustworthy shop helps me sleep at night. The best Pizza Ive ever gotten at a gas station. Honestly it could rival several national pizza chains. A truly nice travel center which also has excellent food options including a sandwich place it might be subway.

Do not eat at the taco bell inside the store got food poisoning. Ate their at around 1700 hrs its now 2200 hours and Im puking my guts out.

If I can can put zero stars I would,employees at the maintenance shop really need some kind of training or something, I spent 6 hours at the shop just to correct a problem with a fuel filter that I had done on one of my trucks on a different location, 6 hours!! I really don’t think this is the best way to make money or make your business grow,it’s very unprofessional and expensive too,but as far as my concern I would never come here to this location ever again,be aware of this kind of issues ( drivers or owner opps) you will literally loose a whole day just to do a oil change on any truck !! hopefully someone fix this type of issues soon or TA will start to loose a lot of business and most importantly costumers.

I hit this place 6 days a week for fuel usually up kept very well rest rooms are clean they have Pizza Hut,Taco Bell and a steak joint all is good

The travel plaza is very nice. However, ther restaurants are exceedingly high priced. Theyown the fast food joints somehow, so my 9 dollar meal at any other taco bell, was 17 dollar. The security was nice, plenty of spots to park.

What an amazing truck Stop! Its been Remodeled. They have taco bell, pizza hut, Quaker steak and lube. Great customer service GM TRACEY knows what customer need excellent customer service. Great food clean restrooms .

This TA is a true truck stop. Clean plenty of laundry/ parking/ drivers lounge area is very comfortable place to be. The place is roomy throughout.

I had a good visit here. The Country Pride restaurant had good food. The chef cooked it the way I wanted it and it was really good. My waiter was nice, accurate, and friendly. I will be stopping back through. Lets just hope it stays that way.

The in-store was good, service desk was polite and quick. The shop floor was very oily, you could probably take a squeegee and harvest enough oil to change two gear boxes and the pit was worse.

Ever since they took out the restaurant and gave the inside a facelift...it now looks like a food court in the mall.... theyve taken away the personal touch and family atmosphere.... Im no longer going to stop in here to eat... just fuel and have work done on my CB radio and leave...Big mistake T/A... you lost me as a valued customer

Mixed. There is parking, but in the back lot. Security goes through there, so its pretty safe. Theyve shut down the restaurant, now there is a Quaker Steak Express. Staff not really that friendly.

The set-up at this 1 is the screwiest Ive EVER seen. Theres about an acre of pumps for tracker/ trailers on 1 side of the property. 6 gas pumps for cars with a mini mart and then behind that is another building with the convenience store, restrooms, food court etc. LOL
