I had no idea what I was looking for. I just needed a good AR to protect my house. I told hunter and Adam my price range and they hooked me up with such a good deal. This is exactly what I wanted to do… go support a local business that deserves it and I even got to learn from an army veteran. I must’ve been there for an hour and half asking so many questions but they did not mind. Very welcoming employees/environment. COME HERE before any other gun Gun store. I saw a few items a couple bucks more than what Walmart or bass pro may sell them for. This is because they are trying to survive from buying retail price and it is worth spending 2$ extra on ammo to support a local business when they sold me a weapon for a great price no other big corporate store would. Don’t be scared by the just few one star google reviews. Really really big thanks to the two dudes who helped me out, they made me confident. See y’all soon
5 stars must be earned, and Guns Plus in Georgetown has earned the highest rating from my family. Are you new to guns and maybe a bit nervous / intimidated? Walk in and the staff greets you with a smile and is ready to assist. You an expert and have questions? This team has a vast knowledge of all things from builds to upgrades and can direct you to the right answers. Need an FFL to ship a new gun? Guns Plus. Theyre prices are in line, theyre local, offer classes to help become a very proficient, knowledgeable shooter, CHL etc... This store has earned my business by doing and offering all the above.
These guys are great. I use them to change sights on my guns because Im just too lazy to do it and they only charge like $25 to do it. They have a cool selection of guns but its a small store not much inventory and a little on the expensive side.
This place is awesome! Staff is super friendly and helpful. Fair prices. One of the few gun stores I found locally that offer gun smithing. It’s small, but has a great stock of guns and ammo. It’s a 30 minute drive for me to get there, but it’s worth the commute. Highly recommend this gun store!
REALLY great service. We met 4 of the staff on our first visit. All of the guns that we bought were lost in an unfortunate boating accident, so we don’t have any guns, but when we bought all of our guns the service and everything was great, and then we had the terrible boating accident during which all of our guns were lost.To be clear, we don’t have any guns. But when we buy guns, we get them from this shop, and then promptly lose them in unfortunate boating accidents.
The gunsmith crew here is excellent. Quick, reasonably priced and do excellent work. Selection of weaponry in the shop is solid, and the prices are fair. Very knowledgeable staff and an overall excellent experience.
These guys are awesome. Theyve helped me with builds, fixed some minor issues for a fair price, and ALWAYS have the ammo I need. They arent price gouging like some other people accuse them of, thats the world were in. You wanna save money buy a .22 and shoot that. It costs what it costs these days.Anyways they have a great selection of firearms and are always pleasant and helpful when I come in or call with a question.
First time customer. Was asking questions about several different firearms that i will be back to purchase before i left Trevor asked me what ammo i was using for home defense and made a great suggestion on what i should be using for home defense bought the box before i left . Thanks to Trevor for all his time and knowledge he made shopping there for something as small as a box of slugs a full on experience!
Im going to start this review by pointing out that I am a very particular and detail-oriented person. I desired to have the bull barrel on my .17 HMR prairie dog rifle threaded to receive a suppressor. I contacted a number of buddies in my network in the Killeen/Belton area and they were hard-pressed to come up with anyone they could personally recommend locally. I expanded my search and had a buddy in Georgetown point me to Kyle Simank (owner) and Dave Moreno (on-site gunsmith) at Guns Plus in Georgetown.Unlike other shops which just take work in and ship it out to a third-party gunsmith (thus incurring greater turnaround time), Guns Plus does their work on-site.Kyle and Dave took the time to explain the process and the tools they would use on my rifle, how the barrels crown would be protected with a brass insert during the lathing process, and how they would use a suppressor identical to my own to check the concentricity after the work was complete. The job was finished early and under-budget. I was charged $25 less than I was quoted at the counter when I walked in, and the work was completed just 3.5 days after I dropped the rifle off (they estimated 5-6 working days).I couldnt be more pleased. All this took place in mid-March of 2021 when people are, literally, standing in line for guns, ammo, and service.FOLLOW UP: I took this rifle to Wyoming in July 2021 on the intended prairie dog shoot and took dogs out to 300 yards (under windless conditions!) with many, many more taken at closer ranges. Daves work was great and stood the real life field test.
Went in today to buy a firearm for home defense, could not recommend a better place. The gentleman that helped me out was a newer hirer to the store and still had a wealth of knowledge. Got me exactly what I needed, awesome staff. Went home and researched the gun I bought a bit more and the guy was right on with everything he told me and the reasons why he recommended what he did. I won’t go any other gun store after today; these guys are top notch.
Awesome place! Great people!Purchased some tru glo sights for my glock 48 called around and every other place was telling me to leave my gun for a couple days to be able to install. Called guns plus and within 30 min of calling them I had my tru glo sights installed on my gun!Would definitely recommend!
From the first time I went in, these guys were very helpful with any questions I had and gave quick advice. They always always have ammo of all kinds.I spoke with Stephen and when I asked about holsters he gave me advice and asked me questions back that I had never thought about. He said he taught the LTC course and I signed up right away.I cannot say enough great things about the course. It is a long day of learning, but he keeps you engaged. He give different scenarios and makes you think and not just give you answers right away. I left with so much knowledge that I told a lot of people I knew and they are also now going to take the class.Im looking forward to taking some of their training courses!
Recently took the LTC course. Phenomenal experience all the way around. The instructors years of experience and class were absolutely invaluable. Would give 10 stars if I was able.
Hi everyone, I wanted to take the time to say THANK YOU to the staff at Guns Plus for treating with me with dignity, respect, and educating me! I recently decided to buy my first pistol and went to Academy Sports and Outdoors in Georgetown where the guys at the gun counter wouldnt even acknowledge me. I then went Bass Pro Shop in Round Rock where they sold me a right handed gun when I am left handed. Thankfully I singed up for some lessons with Grant and LTC class with Stephen from Guns Plus. Grant took the time to educate me all aspects of being a gun owner. Never once did I feel silly for what I had bought and the reasons I was told I needed to buy it. He explained why it wasnt a good fit and had practice guns with him that I could try. After my lesson we went back to the store and Guns Plus bought my gun for fair market value and helped me find the right fit for my needs! I couldnt be happier with the pistol I got! I now feel confident enough to protect myself and or my family which is one of the greatest feelings in the world. Simply stated go see the professionals not a big box store! Everyone in that store has real life experiences and education to help you make the right choice for your needs whether youre young, old, man, or woman!!!!!
My wife and I took lessons with Grant through Guns Plus. He was outstanding. Emphasized safety above all. Thoroughly explained reasoning behind proper technique, mechanics and protocol using real world relatable examples. He is a very personable, witty and knowledgeable instructor. Highly recommend.
Gun’s plus is a great store, everyone is very helpful and knowledgeable. I bought my 1st gun with them and even completed the LTC class through them. Stephen Simank was the instructor, and he was beyond great. I learned so much and highly recommend everyone to take it. Definitely worth all the knowledge.
Called first and they were helpful and nice. I went to looking at several of the offferings they invited me to come look at. We got there and zero service. They acted like we were invisible. I the gun business is so good they can ignore people. I was looking at a gun in a case and a guy laid paperwork all over the glass right in front of me???? We left. Lots of places to find a gun. I’m retired, got plenty of guns, ammo is too expensive anyway, And I’ve got plenty of other toys. I’m in no hurry so I’ll wait. This shop isn’t the only one that doesn’t understand what customer service is. Too bad, I was ready to pull the trigger. LOL
Very good service the guys are always looking to satisfy your needs an exceptional kindness
Top notch customer service. Highly recommend Jake and company.
Guns and all that comes along with them were completely foreign to me. Yet with the social climate we are living in I felt I had to become acquainted sooner rather than later.I came to the right place. From the minute I walked in I was helped by very gracious and informative sales people who helped me begin my journey.... and didn’t make me feel ridiculous.I’ve had two lessons by Grant and Chris and can’t say enough positive things. They are both highly skilled professionals who taught me and in one lesson my boys, from the ground up.I intend to go back for a third lesson soon. The LTC class is excellent as well.So thorough and comprehensive. It is taught by the owner Steve who has a background in law enforcement and multiple overseas deployments..... his experiemce is so extensive that when I read it I thought it would take a few lifetimes to accomplish all that he has.The course would be great to take for anyone even considering purchasing a gun whether they will carry or not.As a single mom, I am so glad I came to guns plus :)
Dont shop here the owner is price gouging.$90 for a box off 300BLK when its $30 down the road.
Really awesome people, with a really good training program, aswell
If you are looking for professionalism & reasonable prices, keep searching!! I highly agree wih nearly all the bad reviews posted on their site. Sadly, if you do choose to do business here I dont suggest doing it with neither the owner or his son Kyle (worst service Ive had in my life!). CUSTOMER IS NEVER CORRECT even if you have a receipt to back it up. If you do make a purchase, dont try to return ANYTHING they will charge 25% +more on all returned items.
Had a great experience executing my FFL transfer to these folks. Went through seamlessly, everyone I interacted with was professional, and went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed before I left. Happy to finally find a local shop for my ammo, optics, and other firearms needs!
Took the LTC with Steve. The day was packed with good information. during the day there were many questions and none were left unanswered. The day was long, don’t get me wrong, but it was well worth it. We walked out confident, knowing the Do’s and Don’ts regarding owning and carrying a gun. Would highly recommend!
I have done a lot of business with Guns Plus GeorgeTown and I am impressed with the quality of information this team provides it customers. I have read a number of reviews that say they are quite expensive and comparable to other similar business that may be true but what is not said is that you are getting top notch instruction. Whether you take your LTC or learning how to shoot a fire arm for the first time, you are getting practical experience from some of the best in law enforcement and military. My wife recently took a class to learn how to handle a fire arm prior to taking her LTC. Even though I already had my LTC I was invited to sit along with my wife and listen in. I watch my wife who was scared to handle a fire arm become an change confident woman in just two hours. The LTC class my wife took part in was way more detailed and very well structured to help students understand the true responsibility of Gun ownership. We pray God continue to prosper this local business and I would encourage others to experience Guns Plus for themselves. You will find people who actually care about their customers experience and take the time to be friendly.
Always friendly and does everything by the book
Quick and easy service. Gentleman knew exactly where the firearm was. No clueless wandering around. Then the background check and general process was just quick and simple. Pleasant atmosphere as well. All the guys were personable and pleasant. No bad attitudes. Will definitely return with business!!!
CONCEALED CLASS------You will not find a better concealed handgun course anywhere else in Texas. Just about anyone can get licensed to teach this course, but it is the real world experience in different police and homeland defense sectors that makes a difference in value for the dollar. I would say the same even if I did not know Steven personally, but that said, (and my bar is high), he is the most passionate person you will find who has made it his mission to empower good citizens to NOT have a victim mentality. The gun happy mantra is not taught here, just good common sense and awareness training. You will be glad you took this class, even if you never have to defend yourself with lethal force.GUN STORE--------Friendly, helpful staff with a passion for firearms. I had an FFL transfer delivered here and the fee was very reasonable. FYI, even if the State of Texas has allowed expired driver licenses in the time of covid, federal agencies will not recognize an expired Texas license as valid. Thanks, Guys!
Went to Guns Plus to use their gunsmith services to replace a 300 Blackout barrel with a 5.56 Barrel on my upper AR-15 receiver. (See attached receipt).I took the rifle to the range and it would not fire correctly. The rifle was under pressure I thought it was no big deal. Ill just return to Guns Plus and the gunsmith will fix whatever problems there were with the upper receiver.*Their diagnosis was a bad bolt carrier group was causing the problem with the rifle* And charge me an additional $81 for parts and service I didnt need (See attached receipt)Went back to the range, I put in a new bolt carrier group that I knew was good and the rifle still would not fire correctly, still under pressure. At this time I paid Guns Plus a total of $118.00 for service and parts and my rifle still does not fire correctly. So I took it to a different gunsmith shop and had a total inspection of the rifle to find out what the problem was. And the problem was the barrel had a .075 gasport which is very ammo sensitive. ( All Parts use made in the USA)The Fix : The new gunsmith drilled the gas port out to a size of .081 and dimple the barrel so the gas block would sit on the barrel better. The owner will probably reply to my complaint saying its the customers fault. For some reason this company always blames the customer. ( it’s one of those companies) you know what I mean. Look at there pass review youll see what I mean
Adam is awesome. Extremely helpful with my first AR15 purchase. Answered every question I had & demonstrated how the gun functioned. Excellent customer service! The day before I was at Elite Guns & the same exact AR15 I purchased at Guns+ was $300 more at Elite Guns! Not to mention the guy there had no interest in answering my questions, just wanted me to buy the gun.Definitely will keep doing business with Guns+!
Great experience all the way around. As a first-time gun purchaser, I was a bit apprehensive but was put at ease by the friendly and professional staff right away. I worked with three people, one to choose the firearm, one to complete the paperwork and sale and one to arrange training. Everyone was helpful and patient.I went in with 2 particular handguns in mind, but the rest of the world has recently had the same idea and those were not available. The salesperson recommended another model and my later research has showed this to be a wise choice at a great price. I’m sure I will be back in the future
If youre new to firearms, stay far away from this place. If youre experienced with firearms, youll know better as soon as you see their prices.Price Gouging seems to be their business model.
Went in today to buy some ammo due to shortages at all the big box stores and basically everywhere else. Got there as soon as they opened and was surprised they were stocked on ammo! Surprised simply because this is a true hole in the wall . What they lack in size they make up for in customer service and stock. Not to mention they had a NO LIMIT POLICY on ammo! YES, you heard that right, NO LIMIT. Suffice to say I got my fill on 9mm, .45acp, and 5.56. No price gouging either, just ample stock and good prices. what more could you ask for? I will shop here again and maybe next time, purchase a gun. Adam helped me out and he took care of all my needs courteously and efficiently. Great job guys and keep up the great customer service, it truly makes a difference!
Very much price gouging there ammo. When I see 50 Ae Hornady hollow points going for $34 and then 9mm hollow points across the shelf from 40-50 dollars. How does that work the 50 ae has more casing more powder more projectile. And it less expensive. same with 6.5 Creedmoor growing in popularity its like $69 for target ammo. and then the less common newer round 6mm arc red tip ammo going for a normal price of $39. An known the less 22lr common and popular going for $45 for a 100 rounds of cheap plinking bullets. When I can go to reds and get it for $9. And the excuse is its hard to get and you have boxs and boxs of ammo on the ground. And every customer in there buy the ammo was talking about it your just trying to profit. And its not right. I know your a small Business but its a little much gun show arent even charging this much.
This would be my second time buying from these folks over the last 3 years, both times the quality of service I received from Kyle and Steven were exceptional and should be how every store conducts their business with their customers! Both times I drove over an hour to get to the store and this second time today they even stayed open 30 minutes later on a Saturday because they knew I was on my way and I had called in advance. That’s serious customer service! Another gentleman (wish I caught his name) helped my wife pick a better holster for her CC which greatly reduced printing and was much more comfortable for her!Their prices were competitive and the selection was great! After today they earned my business and I’ll be sure to give them my recommendation to my buddies!
Took their LTC class this past weekend, and was very impressed. Stephen did a wonder job explaining, and role-playing tons of possible scenarios and how to handle them effectively. 10/10 would recommend.
Great gun store with a great crew! Staff members are all very friendly and knowledgeable. Ive bought, sold, and transferred many guns at Guns Plus, every interaction Ive had with them has been excellent.
Took the LTC August 1, 2020. Very nicely done. Class was informative, comfortable, interesting, etc. I would highly recommend Steve and his team as knowledgeable and competent instructors, inclusive, and trustworthy.
Know EXACTLY what you want when you go in. I wanted a bottle of cleaner and a bottle of oil. I was talked into a four step cleaning process for $85. I was weak. The next day I had decided that what I had used for 65 years was good enough and I tried to return the products. I was told that it was against store policy. Alright, I was weak but what they sold me I neither asked for nor wanted. And then they were not accommodating about the return. They might be very good in other aspects, I can not say. But in this one they stunk.
Stopped in for the first time to see what they had. I was supprised to see a lot of ammo on the shelf. When I looked closer I quickly saw why, the ammo prices in this shop were at least twice what I would expect to pay even with the shortages we have been seeing. One of the employees walked up while I was browsing and asked if he could help me fi d anything, I commented on the ammo prices and he said it was only going to get worse. The bottom line is that there are shortages and they have every right to charge what the market will bare, that said many other retailers have chosen not to price gouge their customers or to only increase prices 20 or 30 percent to account for challenges in sourcing inventory. For myself I find business that try to cash in during this pandemic objectionable and I chose to take my business elsewhere.
Always helpful and very knowledgeable. Happy to have them as our local gun shop.
I highly recommend the LTC class with Stephen. His experience and stories from his law enforcement career make it interesting and keeps it real.
Ive dealt with Guns Plus many times: Purchase of Handgun, Consignment Sale, Ammunition Purchase, and Training Class. Nothing but the highest regard for any and all Ive had the pleasure of dealing with, and I will continue going there for my Guns/Ammo needs.
Ive purchased guns, ammo and taken the LTC class. All three experiences have been top-notch. Very knowledgeable staff and exceptional instruction. I was very pleased with the high emphasis on safety in both the classroom and on the Firing Line.First rate and I recommend highly!!
This was my first gun purchase. Grant and Stephen were incredibly helpful in guiding us into the right direction for our needs. Couldn’t have asked for a more pleasant experience in a situation where I was very unsure. Thank you, guys!
Love this place. Took the LTC class and was blown away. They fit is much into the class as they can.If you are looking for full fledged knowledge packed class based on real life events then this is the one to do. Its not one of those get in get out classes. Was there a long time, but when your life and other peoples could be on the line do you really want to skimp?I have the worse attention span known to man and yet I was able to get through the all day class and only chew up 2 pens. Will continue to do business with Guns Plus, Everyone on their team that I have talked to/ worked with has great knowledge and is always willing to pack you full of information!I will warn you though, if you go in to the shop you have a good chance of buying something. Cant go there too much because of this
Where do I even start! I am so angry, Im a first-time gun buyer and female. I cant believe this gun store took advantage of me. I purchased a handgun that I thought was pretty expensive after my purchase. I checked with other gun shops around the area and found the same handgun for two-thirds of the price. I think they took advantage of me because I was a first-time gun buyer or female I dont know which, even overcharged me on Ammunition.
I’ve purchased several fire arms from these guys over the years and they are a class act. They know their trade well and have excellent customer service. Kyle really helped me out today. Can’t thank him enough. Highly recommend them.
Have yet to have a good experience there. Quoted over 140 bucks to ship a rifle to NC, asked about consignment they told me theyd buy my Weatherby Mark V for 500 bucks.... It sold the next week for 1300. One guy there is good, the rest blow. Prices seem way too high. Now I only use Elite Guns in Austin. To your comment- I never offered/wanted to sell it to you, you then told me it wasnt worth that and I wouldnt even get a grand for it. The MSRP is 2700 and they sell used for as much as 1500. Its insulting considering how I sold it the next week for 1300. Your prices are high and so is your shipping based on relativity. Its a large expensive rifle its a 0 contour 5.75lb rifle with a 22in barrel in the worlds smallest rifle box because its a Weatherby. lol. Thats my honest opinion as reflected in my review. The fact you want to argue with a former customer about it reflects.
Great experience, picked up a rifle today and the staff couldnt have been more helpful. Super quick, great prices, family business. they also build and repair
Had a great experience with them after having a winning ticket in a raffle for a gun. I was not aware of the process to get the gun and they were very open and involved to ensure that the process took as little time as possible. Very friendly staff and extremely informative as well. When I go to these businesses, I try to evaluate the stock as well as the service received. I can report that the shelves were well stocked with ammo and they had quite a bit of accessories as well. Highly recommend them after that experience and I know I will be back to them to do business.
Stopped in to day and was shocked by the price gouging on ammo. $39 for 100 rounds of .22rf. $55 for 9mm fmj. I will never shop there again.
This family is so helpful and extremely knowledgeable. They are willing to spend the time with you to make sure you find a product you are happy with and that suits your needs. Ive been to many gun shops in the Austin area and the staff at this shop exhibited far more knowledge - by a long shot. Very very wonderful people, I cannot recommend this store enough!
Guns Plus is the best shop in Georgetown and the Austin area. Experts and very helpful staff.
The staff here is exceptional. The are always helpful and welcoming. I have spent countless hours here just talking with them. Great selection and competitive prices, as well they also have a range out by Walberg.
I have purchased several handguns and 1 AR lower receiver over the last 2 years. They have always given great service and I have always left with a bit more knowledge then when I went in.
Got my red dot sight installed for a very reasonable price . Got the cheapest quote from these guys and I made the 30 minute drive ... it was worth it, they are very professional and great customer service .. took literally 5 minutes for the job to be done. 🏆☝🏼
I have read the reviews and agree with everyone indicating Gun’s Plus Service, Prices, and Classes offered are best in this area. The team at Guns Plus know their business and are willing to share information with focus on their customers. Very Customer Oriented. They are more than friendly, they will work with you to meet your personal needs. Prices are very reasonable both regarding weapons and accessories. I spend way too much time comparing those particular topics. They have to make some profit to stay in business so don’t expect something for nothing. I would use them any time over any gun shop near Georgetown TX including any of the major gun shops in the Austin area. They treated both my wife and myself with respect and answered questions directly. No pressure to buy something that did not meet our needs. Experiences may vary but their team provided a great experience for us and I wish them great success. I recommend them to friends without hesitation.
Ive bought several firearms from Guns+ from shotguns to pistols. Staff are always knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. If youre in the area and in the market for a firearm, I would recommend trying them out.
Good group of guys. They have earned my business.
Great selection of new and used guns only surpassed by the friendly and super knowledgeable staff. Lonestar goodness all the way.
They are all a bunch of great guys. They are very knowledgeable and friendly. I have bought 2 guns from them and if I decide to purchase more I will contact them first. I have dealt with Collin and Kyle and both are A+. Great store and they have my business.
The Symank family is a credit to the community of Georgetown as a whole and their patrons. I’ve never had an experience that wasn’t framed with honest thoughtful service - they are trustworthy, professional and genuinely warm.
Kyle answered my questions in just a few mins! Thanks so much dude!
I used them for an FFL transfer. They’re super helpful and personable. It’s like hanging out with your buddies.
Great store. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the prices were right around what i would expect to pay. The thing that really sold me was that the guys there all knew what they were talking about and offered suggestions and help for my first gun purchase. will return if i ever need another gun.
Ive always enjoyed this shop. Lots of knowledge, good selection. A willingness to help. Great instruction in their classes. They are the only ones to train my kids.
Great price on the new Glock 19 in custom factory color when others were asking much more for the plain black. Hats off to Mike, very helpful especially on holster selection. Would recommend!
They did a great job cleaning up my old 12 gauge!
Great service and helpful staff. I was only picking up an online order but they still went out of their way to answer all my questions and make me feel welcome.
Terrible shop. They wont take collector firearms simply off of the basis of resale. Couldnt even compromise.
Transferred a rifle through them I purchased online. A younger guy helped me if you could say that. No warm welcome as mentioned by others, no smile at all and had nothing to say unless it was absolutely required of him. Seemed quite chummie with a couple other patrons which made me feel even more out of place. Ive purchased a half dozen more firearms from other sellers since and none of them had customer service as poor as Gunsplus.
Never Had a single bad experience for the 5 years I have been giving my business to Guns Plus. This is by far the best place in Georgetown to buy all your firearms and Class III NFA items. They also a very knowledgeable and full service gunsmith on staff that takes good care of all my needs no matter how large or small. The staff is very family oriented and once youve become a regular face they treat you like one of their own. I would never buy a gun from anyone else or have my FFL transfers done from anyone else in town because Guns Plus is the most affordable, knowledgeable and has more experience than anyone else in town.
Super friendly and knowledgeable staff, they gained a customer for life today simply because of their great attitudes, thanks again guys!
Most knowledgeable staff around! CHL classes that surpass all others as to knowledge and true training! No other place to go for guns or accessories or classes!
I bought a JR Carbine G-40 on Valentines day from these guys. They are very knowledgeable and helpful however the I put 200 rounds through it this weekend and its jammed 8 times. Not the gun shops fault I know and I imagine its just new and needs the kinks worked out a bit. The ramp seems to get jammed. No big deal I will keep feeding it and see if it really is a problem. What irks me a bit is that I bought the carbine and then went to look up the price. I paid at least a $100 more than I should have on a gun that out of the box jams up. Also I bought a SightMark red dot sight and they had it priced $50 over what SightMark has them priced at on their website. Not really thrilled about that but its a good sight very good quality. I should have done more research before buying anything. Not a happy customer and wont go back. I would just say know your prices before you go in there.
These gentlemen are very kmowledgeable and a pleasure to deal. The helped with a change out of a difficult scope rail situation and really knew their stuff. Great prices on all inventory! They won me over from their local competition!!!
My order was out of stock, so it was going to take a day for it to arrive. Nevertheless, one day for delivery while still being well below MSRP is pretty darn good, right? Few hours later, I get a call saying they got my order in. Still dont know how they did it, but that is the definition of service.Speaking of service, I may not be able to name you a top five list of every type of firearm (or even one or two types), but I do know the difference between a clip and a magazine (and, therefore, why a 30 caliber magazine clip is nonsense). Having that said, Stephen was especially patient with me and answered my every question. Hes got so much knowledge and experience that I wish I could chew the fat with him all day.Dont forget the Plus: there are classes, accessories, knives, a variety of ammunition, and more available. Additionally, they have done plenty of community service events (like charity auctions) that I had no idea about.Ill be wandering in for quite a while checking out the different areas and hopefully learning a lot more.Oh...uh, yeah, I do recommend them (if not apparent enough).
Good people. Has odd ball ammo also.
I came in to this establishment looking for a few 1k boxes of 5.56 for a class that I was going to take. They prices are a bit inflated...I took a trip to Cableas and got a better price. But this is not about the prices...it was more the atmosphere that the place has...if you are not showing the cash they just ignore you...not very service oriented in my book.Too bad they do have some good selection of accessories. That I can give them.
My wife and I recently audited a License to Carry (LTC) class held at Guns Plus+ of Georgetown and we would highly recommend this class to everyone. Although we both have our LTC we decided to sit in after we met Stephen Simank (owner and instructor). We were both impressed by his experience and knowledge gained from 28 years of Law Enforcement. You can read his bio on their website…Impressive to say the least! His class was enjoyable, informative, and fun, with videos, a live demo at the range, and real life examples from his years with APD and Law Enforcement. We came away having a better understanding of things like Use of Force, Non-Violent Dispute Resolutions, and Range & Gun Safety just to mention a few. We are very glad we took this opportunity. This class is head and shoulders above other classes offered in our area….Outstanding!
Nice gun store, the guys here are friendly and they have a decent amount of stock.
This store has always had the best customer service each and everytime that I have visited. And in my opinion the most knowledgable staff, Plus the best deals in our area is a fact. Thanks guys!!!!
I was just looking up the phone number for Guns Plus when I noticed the yelp reviews for Guns Plus. Well to say I am surprised to see any negativity is an understatement. When I arrived here from Australia in 2010 my brother in law and I decided to get our CHLs (Concealed Handgun License). We went to Guns Plus to look at guns and arrange for a time to get our CHLs. When we arrived everyone was so happy to help. The staff are all very knowledgeable, and the prices were very fair. When I went to the CHL class I had no idea what to expect. To say the least it was an eye opening experience. Steve the owner taught my class, and as he is a Police Officer as well, he was able to describe in great detail all that information in a very concise and informative way. I have since bought 3 guns from Guns Plus. Every time I go in it has been great. Even if you just drop in for some helpful information the guys are always happy to help.Guns Plus will always get all my friends and family for business. A personal thank you to all the Staff. Greg
Great shop, very professional and extremely knowledgeable group of guys!
These guys have provided nothing but good service and good advice.
Great personnel. Very helpful and knowledgeable.
I have used Gunsplus for FFL on a couple handgun online purchases as well as some ammo purchases. I have been very unhappy with their customer service provided by a young clerk there. I took in a six month old handgun that I had paid $500 for and asked what he would give me for it. He checked his computer and offered only $200. A week later, GTX Guns up on Williams Drive, gave me $300 for the same gun with no hassle. Today, I went in to Gunsplus and picked up another new gun that they had FFLd for me and the same young guy forgot to give me my driver license back causing me to drive 1 1/2 hours and forty miles to come back and pick up. I suggested he give me a box or two of ammo for the trouble he caused me. He declined and said, Have a nice day, with a sarcastic smile on his face. They just lost a customer for good. My experience with GTX Guns in Georgetown has been much better and I would wholeheartedly recommend them.
Very knowledgeable staff and a large selection of STI firearms.
Finally! A gun shop with friendly service.
This business is not female friendly. Yes Im new to guns and the sport, but Im not an idiot.I walked in and they treated me like they where doing me a favor by pushing on to me a revolver for conceal carry. When I really wanted was a Glock 23.When one of the attendants told me I do not think you can shoot a big 40SW little one that was my ticket to not come back and wirte this review. They maybe ex-law enfocement, but they have no right to talk down to people.Geez!Ladies take your business to a better place.
Honest opinion. They know their stuff, and are genuinely nice people, but ive gone in there a dozen times, sent a dozen emails and spoken personally to each of them about various things and they never remember who i am. ever. I went in there 4 days in a row one week looking at various options and weighing them carefully before making my first purchase, and talked to them about CHL and all sorts of stuff. Every time i go in there, its as if they have no clue who i am and treat me like a brand new customer which makes me reluctant to pay more for a gun than i could buy one at academy for, so i ended up doing just that... buying my first gun at academy. Since then i have gone back a few times for various things and ultimately choose not to buy from them since their prices are so much higher and, still dont recognize me. It shouldnt be that i have to buy something for them to care to remember my face. I own a business, and i can literally recognize every person who has ever been in my shop. and im not even a cop like steven was... i.e. its his livelihood to pay attention to details and remember them. how hard is it to remember someone who comes in a dozen times asking about the same stuff while trying to make an important decision about their first weapon. so yeah... i dont bother going out of my way to go there anymore. id rather drive 40 miles to cabellas and deal with their horrible customer service than drive 25 to georgetown to be ignored by those guys and pay more anyway
Very friendly and helpful staff.
