We took a group of 20 kids and adults and put it all on one tab. They handed all the orders quickly and without any issues. The ice cream, shaved ice, and soda was all very refreshing. Everyone left happy and refreshed. 👍

This was a true, pleasant surprise! We were so hot and my car AC had difficulty blowing cold air to the back seats. So, as a little, unplanned excursion, we parked and went into the water, ice, shaved ice and ice-cream store. It was our first time. I ended up buying ice cream, shaved ice, cold drinks and cooled off. It was a bonus seeing some old- school arcade games, (only about four or so machines) to allow my five year old grandson to play under my watchful eyes. My daughter and boyfriend had fun too. There was also a candy area that had great treats and even some chewing gum from back in the day. The employees were great and we unexpectedly had a nice, cooling off period. We live just up the street, so, by the time we arrived home, we forgot how hot it was!

Very clean store and very friendly and helpful staff. They had a great selection of candy and Thrifty Ice Cream is always a huge win. Very kid friendly store. Highly recommend coming to this location. Everything is reasonably priced and the staff is more than willing to look to see if they have items in stock if it is not on the shelf. The slushies are a little watery for my taste, but thats all personal preference. They also had arcade games in the back but it didnt look like they were turned on/plugged in.

I like their Artic Blends (their version of the blizzard) I tried a few of them and a lot of them are great. I wish the Banana Chocolate actually had slices of banana in them. Overall nice Ice Cream place.

Love the malts here, but dont love the fact there are no public restrooms.

I get water from here often but sometimes I have to send another family member because if I dont, I know Im going to pick up a couple pints of Thrifty ice cream. The people working there have always been very friendly and it seems to make the customers great each other kindly as well. The place is always busy whenever I go but I never wait for more than a minute or so if I have to wait at all.

Update: In light of the fair and thoughtful owner response to my concern, I’m editing this review. I still feel very strongly that mask wearing should be completely optional without a state order in place, but the reasoning and timing plan provided below is satisfactory, in my opinion. It is appreciated and I will be back after May 1st.I’m a customer for 7 years having purchased my machine and my water from them during that timeframe. It’s also a nice store for nostalgic candies, beverages, ice cream and ice.

Whenever I go there I get this blended drink made with red creme soda and the vanilla soft serve and then blend it, and its one of my favorite drinks! Plus, its pretty filling.

I have been a customer at this store for several years. I have never ever seen them treat anyone with disrespect. I happen to be one of the customers that are immune compromised fighting stage 4 cancer. The owners and employees are some of the finest people I know. While I appreciate that they have followed the state rules with masks. Customers can be so rude and self absorbed they don’t think of anyone but themselves. While I am sad to see the mask mandate taken down on May 1st I do put myself in their shoes. I will continue to be a customer but go at times when it is less busy. I always appreciate their kindness and will not stop shopping there.

Weve been going here for years, but today will be our last time. Tonight I took my 4 little boys to get some ice cream. 3 of my boys are Autistic and I have a medical exemption due to lung damage. Even so, mask mandates have been lifted in AZ. I was calm and respectful, just wanting to purchase some ice cream for my boys, who were so excited. The employees refused to serve me and told me and my little boys to leave the store. It was a heartbreaking and humiliating experience, especially for my little boys. This store has decided to discriminate against people with disabilities. I will never go there again and will be sharing my experience whenever I can. Thankfully there was another ice cream shop open down the street who treats their customers with respect.

I have purchased lots through this business. I own a business and have used them to get water for my business for the past 2 years. This time I did not have a mask so I was refused business which is fine. However the lady was very rude and did not even offer a mask for us to buy. I could see that she had masks however that was not an option. Instead she told me to leave. I will never use them again personally or for my business.

The salesperson was probably the nicest salesperson Ive ever had. Its a bit out of the way for me but I think I might return trying some of their ice cream or shaved ice.

I love this place! The ice cream is delicious and makes for a quick dessert. There is also a huge variety of candies, sodas, and other snacks to choose from. Not only is it in the name but yes, you also get water from here and I only get my water from here. I also really enjoy the style of this place, theres enough seating and theres video games and toy machines.

This is a great business to frequent. I could spend a few days detailing out the reasons but basically they sell the cleanest and most pure water around, sell and serve Thrifty ice cream along with candy, sodas, and a few other random ancillaries. We picked up a water cooler for the 5 gallon water jugs and its still working 3 years later. Allan is awesome too, he cares about his business and the people that visit.But man, two things from other reviews: never has there been an issue with chemicals in the water or the CDC would have the place shut down so that is fake as all hell and why would one run to review how a scoop of ice cream couldnt be split in two. Go get a soft serve. They have a machine that will mix it for you if its that important.

We have been coming here for a year now. Its the closest to our home. Easy and convenient parking. The water has never had a funky taste, always fresh and clean. If you prefer convenience without service, this is the place. Dont expect a smile nor a greeting. I highly recommend this cold sholder store.

My experience was alright. I wanted 1 scoop with half one flavor and half of another flavor. She said no because there is a “rule” that one scoop is one flavor. Come on people. It’s ice cream. The worker thought I was asking for her left leg. I just wanted 2 flavors in one scoop. Sheesh!!

It is a great self-serve water and ice store. I love the ice... the blocks last longer than any other store brand and a very reasonable price. I love the rolling carts and how easy it makes loading into my vehicle. Whoever complained about not getting help with jugs must not realize it is a self serve store.

ABSOLUTELY love this store. Owner is so sweet and the younger guys are so helpful and sweet. The selection of icecream and candy is great. They have a variety of candies from way back when to the newest goodies. Prices are great and store is so clean and welcoming.

Went in to this store today for water and loved it. This was my first time here. My neighbors have been telling me for sometime now to go in and check it out. Wow...the selection of products was beyond my expectations. The guy was behind the counter (owner) was very nice and extremely helpful. He took the time to explain all about the high alkaline water machine and its benefits. They have a full ice cream menu, candy that I havent seen in years and shaved ice. I found my new favorite place in Gilbert to bring the family for treats.

Been using their water for 5 years now and it is the best tasting water. We use it for both drinking and now all of our cooking. A year ago a guy from a prestigious water system company came to our home to sell us their filtration system and when we mentioned using Water & Ice up the road he quickly said their water is pretty much at the top of the scale and quickly moved on, hoping wed install the water system for use when showering, etc. After the salesperson left demonstrating all the crap in our water using little test tubes, we decided to perform our own experiment. We had been boiling five chicken tenders for our dog, who would get one chicken tender each night for dinner. By the third night, the chicken would become slimy and smelly. We decided to boil the water in the Water & Ice water and by the fifth night the last piece of chicken smelled and felt just as fresh as the first night. We have not cooked with tap water since.The owners are friendly and courteous. The machines on the outside for late/early hours are always working. Great business!

My family and I have been getting our water here for years. My kids love it for the 20 plus flavors of classic Thrifty brand ice cream. And I like it because the water here is better than those cheap little water machines in front of grocery stores.

Baylee is amazing! Today after tearing my ACL playing basketball I needed to get water. I had four 5 gal bottles. After getting out of my car, I noticed my knee had swollen and I couldnt bend it. This is so much more than a water and ice store! Its like an ice cream parlor/candy store too. My kids love coming here! The Thrifty Ice Cream is delicious and we love being able to sit down and eat it in the store if we want to, this place is huge! Everyone is always so helpful and friendly too.

Very cheap prices for regular and alkaline water. Very nice manager who runs the cashier and the whole shop. Their candy and snacks are very marked up however. 2.49 for a small bag of chips 1.50 for a pack of gum and things like that.

I have been going to this Water and Ice since my family moved to AZ. As someone who worked for this place I am slightly biased but I have nothing not love for this place and the owners. Not only were they always friendly and kind to me when I was a child, but they gave me invaluable custermer service experience and life knowledge working here when I turned 17. All the ice cream flavors are so fun and their pumpkin pie article blast is way better than the pumpkin pie blizzard from Dairy Queen (spoken as someone who has eaten both). I would not only recommend this as a place go form invaluable family memories with your family (as I have many cherished memories I made with my dad visiting this place), but also as a GREAT first job for anyone who has teenagers looking for emoloyement.

If youre not WHITE, dont go here! There is an old, caucasian man ( about 70) who blatantly avoided serving my family. He stared directly at me when we first arrived and then started acting like he was stocking and cleaning. He stared at me a second time and still did not acknowledge me. Finally, a white woman and her son came in and he immediately greeted them and said, How can I help you, you were here first. I immediately told my wife and daughter that we were leaving and the other young man working there asked how he could help us. I told him we were there first and the old man completely ignored us and helped the other family first. We left.Being Japanese and growing up in Mississippi during the 1970s when I was younger, I know the type. It still amazes me though that living in America, 2018 in Arizona, that racism is alive and well. At first, it angered me, but as I thought about it, I felt sorry for him. He works in an ice cream shop, which I think is one of the happiest places to work, and he is filled with hatred and resentment. Hes in his golden years where he should be enjoying his life. Maybe he still believes the false stories that immigrants are draining Americas society, or that non-whites are stealing all the jobs. Who knows, but why else would you dislike another race. Anyway, even though its a really nice store, go somewhere else that will treat you with respect and appreciates your business. Enjoy your ice cream elsewhere!

This place is great. The water tastes wonderful and there are plenty of spouts so Ive never had to wait. They even have carts you can use for easy loading. Very affordable at $0.30/gallon, or $0.25/gal if you buy one of their pre-paid cards (as of Aug 17). You can buy water jugs (different sizes), as well as different types of dispensers there as well. They also have one alkaline water dispenser, but Ive never used it.Their candy and ice cream selection is diverse and they have some very nostalgic brands and flavors. DQ Blizzard-style blends, shakes, and convenience store snacks round out the food area, with a limited selection of classic arcade games for entertainment while you enjoy your treat. Inside and outside seating available.
