Purchased beautiful iron front door with window casing above and metal side gate for $7,000! Don’t mind spending that for a long lasting beautiful door/gate. Had issues right away with the gate not shutting (self closure because we have a pool) and lock not engaging. Feel like sloppy work in measurement cuts because now we have red spacers between the block wall and gate. Measurements are accurate from salesman and not what we are measuring after install. Technicians out at least 3 x to drill out gate key hole so it would engage the lock. Make excuses that it’s our wall. I feel the key lock mechanism is set too far inside that’s why the design is cut around lock and wouldn’t engage into side pole. Again excuses from company. Gate closes now - barely, but feel like we settled on look of spacers. At least why can’t they match? Now the screws in handle sheared off. My husband had to caulk the above door window casing- big gap left when we went to paint around it. Had to have someone back out to show us how to adjust rollers in door so it was easier to open and close door. I asked installer to adjust but he said to try it for a while. Ok, but show me how to fix….company has been good at getting back to us but I feel we settled for what we paid for.

We had a great experience from start to end.. Jack and Mark are awesome.. great service and the quality of the product is great. We are very impressed with first impressions and very pleased. I 100% recommend it.

We had a great experience with first impression. From the initial design consult to the end installation, no issues at all. The door was manufactured quicker than they said and was installed two weeks early. It seems like a great product that would last through an apocalypse. I’m excited for the cooler weather so I can have my front door open with my new security door in place.

I purchased 2 security doors the past 3 years from First Impression IW. The sale, install and subsequent operation was as expected. Based on that positive experience and functionality, I desired to have 2 entrance gates quoted, manufactured, delivered and installed. However, I didn’t get passed the quote. The salesperson used subversive and deceptive sales tactics by not quoting the correct gate I asked to be quoted, instead, a product code was used on the written quote v. the gate name as called out on website, a tactical sales move to reduce the quote cost and push the sale. Hey, this is a great deal, right? Fortunately, my OCD picked off the deception and right before I was going to provide a 50% deposit toward a $3k cost for the builds, I wanted to verify if the code matched up with product name and it didn’t. Salesperson stated if I wanted the actual gate I asked to be quoted, it would be a substantial cost up charge. So the salesperson thinks they have me on a proverbial hook?? If I didn’t verify the model and then if I subsequently put down $1500 deposit to build then, when delivered, I was then on the real hook to install as built or eat the deposit for a gate I didn’t want. Be careful here with this vendor, good product, but the vendor sales management seems to condone and enable a deceptive sales culture to increase profits, stay away.

From sales to installation, the services were outstanding. Each step was performed in a professional manner and we would do business with First Impression again.

Well my wife wanted to go this route. I just wanted to get a security door from home depot to be honest. So with f/I you get a design on the screen, color you want and its hand made. I didnt think the price was worth it. Dont tell her but man was she right. The quality, sturdiness, and design are awesome.I like it. My wife....I hate it when shes right!!

Overall we are very pleased with the quality of the door and the experience of picking the door. There was no pressure during the process. My only disappointment was when the door was installed, the remaining balance was not collected. The door was installed and the installer left without knocking on the door or anything. We didnt receive a call to collect payment either. So a full SIX WEEKS went by and I received an email that they charged our account over $1100 at 10:30 on a Friday night. I called and left a message to discuss my frustrations and would have appreciated a call before charging that large of an amount to our bank account. I never received a response to my call. I would recommend this company, but hesitate because I would not want that to happen to anyone else.

I was so pleased with our security gate. Now that my great granddaughter can open doors I can rest easy that my three standard poodles can only run as far as the gate and I am not chasing them around the neighborhood. It has become their new favorite space to play safely! We are extatic.🐩🐩🐩🌈

Hands down, best security door in Phoenix. The quality is superb, it’s family owned, and they’re made in Gilbert, AZ. This isn’t a Lowe’s or Home Depot type of company either.This is a quality product made with American product and crafted in house. Gary, our salesman, walked us through the entire process with ease, and thoroughly answered all our questions. My wife Melissa and I truly love our door, its quality and its looks. Lastly, these doors are definitely more expensive than a those at Lowe’s/Home Depot, but the product you get is FAR SUPERIOR. In this scenario, you truly get what you pay for. Save your pennies, and buy from this company. You won’t regret it.

First of all I love door they installed. Im not going to lie about that. When I signed contract, Im responsible for outside stucco or drywall. Thats what they told me. When they came to install, inside casing wasnt fit so work wasnt complete that time. But technician promised me when he come back next time, he will do new lock for me. Second time, different technician came to inside casing, he talked first technician on the phone and let me know he will stop by again. After he left, one day later I found huge gap between my tile and rubble part. So I emailed first impression. Manager called me saying I have to pay extra for bottom black rubber part which they never mentioned it first. I think they made mistake and it should get cover by them but she denied. Manager also denied me and technicians conversations. VERY Poor customer service! Iron door is more than $5k. And this is such poor customer service by them. Because of this, I dont want to recommend to anyone.Update: after this complain and email, they came back for floor cover. Just thats it.Another update: whoever had door from first impression ironwork, please check if there is gap between door and bottom frame. I was cleaning with water from outside and water came inside. So they came out to adjust something. And couple of months later, I was really careful to clean outside floor with water and water came in again. I email them and waiting for their answer.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Kept me updated throughout the entire process with timelines and details. They were able to match my door perfectly to the customized design I wanted. Door feels and looks very sturdy and well built. Install took minimalTime, installer was very professional and left the area clean upon leaving. Highly recommended would do business again if I ever get another security door.

These guys did an amazing, fast job. My door Ive waited for for 20 years is beautiful. Only think I would have like included for the amount of money would have been a rubber hand protector so that people dont burn their hand as my door sits in the sun all day but its minor. My opinion of First Impressions has greatly improved due to the hardworking dedication of the in-house installation department. After many conversations with First Impressions about my concerns. They sent Mr. Garrison to evaluate the project and we were able to reach an understanding as to what was needed to complete the installation. He implemented a custom solution by a very competent fabricator Mr. Jensen. I am now happy with the door.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE my new 11- Foot Tall Double Iron Door! I waited 14 years to upgrade it and it has changed my entire house - inside and out! MORE importantly is the outstanding customer experience I had from the Salesperson (Mike C.) to the CAD Department (Liz) to the scheduling department (Jamie) to the INSTALLERS JORGE and EDDIE and their supervisor JOHN, who were all at my house until 7:30 p.m. last night !!!! It was such a long day and raining and cold out, but they never stopped! You would not even know they were here. My house is spotless and there is no touch up work to do. This was not a small project. My door is so high quality and AMERICAN MADE, made right here in Gilbert AZ! That was important to me. First Impressions fabricated the iron gate into the courtyard of our home. The installation went off flawlessly, the gate is exactly as ordered and looks even better than we had imagined. Every staff member we had contact with behaved with the utmost professionalism. The only downside was the amount of time from order to installation. But then I guess that can be expected for a first class company in a seriously busy market.

Beware of issues previous customers had with this company because we chose not to and we should have. The salesman talked about this being a family business with great customer service. Unfortunately that is not what we experience. We paid a lot for our security door and we expected the quality to match the price. That did not happen. While our door is decent looking the quality is just lacking. In addition the installer did a very poor job. We contacted First Impression and spoke to their customer service repair department about the issues. They were not very interested in send f a tech out and made us send multiple pictures twice just to get someone to agree to come out. In fact a whole week went by after email the pictures and no one called back. I had to keep following up to get a call back. It was not an easy process. Eventually we were placed on the schedule 10 days out. The tech made some no or repairs but the finished product is far from advertised. I cant recommend this business to anyone.

Awesome customer service team! One of the gate locks wasn’t working after a year of install. They jumped on it and came out and fixed within a few days. I’d recommend this company.

BUYER BEWARE! Great product, great sales and install folks, poor customer service and architecture. The issue I ended up having with First Impression Ironworks is that while installing the gate, the installation gentleman pointed out that the gate door would not open all the way after being installed, there was a light in the way. He was going to take down the light but noted he was not allowed to put it back up. That didn’t sound right to me as this should have been pointed out during the design and architecture phase so that we could have chosen to have the gate doors open to the inside. He asked his manager to call me and after a bit of an acrimonious conversation we landed on the fact that I signed off on the design/architecture and they have a contract to prove it. She did mention that First Impression Ironworks would be happy to fix the situation, for a price. True, I signed a contract, but it is not my job to notice engineering and architecture flaws, it is the job of the company I hired for their expertise in creating and installing the gate. If I was an expert in such things, I would have purchased the gate somewhere else and installed it myself and saved a signification amount a money. But I am not an expert, I hired a First Impression Ironworks for their expertise and paid a premium for that expertise. Ultimately, the gate is in and it looks very nice though it does not function fully. BUYER BEWARE as First Impression Ironworks does not take responsibility for their blatant mistakes, they use the contract for cover and offer to help via an extra bill. There are probably 20 or 30 companies I could have chosen to do this job and in hindsight I should have gone with one of them. I would NOT RECOMMEND First Impression Ironworks.UPDATE: Rebecca, thank you again for your response. I agree, the gate it beautiful but you should not be surprised by my post as I told your customer service manager that I would be giving a negative review based on my experience. You may have my credit card but I have the power of the written word. My issue is that you did NOT follow your policy regarding having a conversation about obstructions. If there was a conversation, there would have been a solution. I did NOT change my mind after the contract was signed, I was NEVER notified there was an obstruction in the first place or we would have resolved the issue. I do not wish to change the gate, nor do I wish to speak to your customer service. I simply want other potential consumers to know that First Impression Ironworks is not recommended.

We really love our iron door from First Impression. Weve had it a couple of months now and are still thrilled. Everyone we worked with was very professional. Ashley helped us pick the style and made recommendations, but she didnt force her opinions on us. The final decisions were ours to make. We were worried about making the right choices in style and color, but she helped make the potentially stressful experience fun for us by creating a mock up of what our choices looked like on a photo of our house. The day of the installation went very smoothly and it took less time than we imagined for the installers to complete the job. They hung a large plastic tarp in the entryway to ensure the rest of our house stayed clean (from dust and debris) during the installation. The whole experience was just great. We recommend First Impression 100%.The quality of our door is excellent; you get what you pay for with First Impression.

I had several quotes and appointments for security doors. I ended up going with First Impressions. I felt their quality of doors and customer service was the best. I Had an appointment with Mike and he was awesome. He was super friendly, very detailed oriented, and responded quickly to my emails. It took about 3 weeks for my door to come in after I placed my order. Richard installed my door and did a great job. He was very friendly and made sure I didnt have any questions before he left. He was super quick as well. Got my door installed in about an hour. Overall I have had a great experience with this company. Will defiantly come back to them if I need another security door down the road :)

First Impression was not the fastest not were they the cheapest but the quality of the fences they provided were far superior in quality to the other fence we had previously installed on our property. Excellent door, when you walk up, it pops and shows the custom effort and professionalism in how it is made. It was $400 cheaper then a homedepot install and it was not out of box it was custom to fit our house. The door also completely, yes completely seals from bugs. The install was quick and they also adapted the door for a number pad Schlage that I had on my original door. Everyone loves the door, install was quick, from purchase to install was only a few weeks. If I had known what this would have done to the curb appeal, security, and ability to have front door open and highly secure I should have done this twenty years ago.

Had to replace the screen and worked with Jennifer who was fun and efficient at getting me taken care of. Then Matt came out to put the screen on and there was a small issue. Bought a door in 2017 (3 years ago) and their response and installation was great. A few months ago the door failed to latch correctly, leaving dogs and toddlers able to push the door open unless it was locked. We called them and were told they could come out for a service fee (that was ok) but couldnt guarantee the fix as they buy their door hardware from another vendor and it could be THEIR problem. So we called the lock vendor as instructed and were told that they couldnt tell the exact mechanism used from our invoice and wed need to take the whole thing apart and bring it in to them to look at. Which we did and they promptly pointed the finger back at First Impressions or us for the door not being leveled or warping now. So the door apparently isnt leveled correctly now and its up to us to get the mechanism back in to the door where it wasnt working to begin with. At this point the door is worthless since it wont shut or lock. Willing to pay for service but cant get help!Update 11/20/20 - Dont like their policy of paying 100% up front to schedule a service call a week away, but we did. They were able to repair the lock quickly. Jennifer, the Customer Care manager also followed up with a phone call to ensure our satisfaction which was appreciated, so great job!

The door we purchased seems to be high quality and the company provides good customer service. We door we chose is beautiful. The only issue we had (2 months after installation the door would not stay propped open) was resolved. Parts were ordered and the door repaired about 10 days after we called. We know 2 other families who have a security door from First Impression and they are all very satisfied with their purchases.

BUYER BEWARE: they only care about making the door and dont care about destroying your wall in the process. While installation should involve an inquiry into the correct size and weight, they do not take the time. All they care is about selling you the door or gate and nothing else. Also, their customer service is poor, including being condescending, rude, and not listening (for instance I asked for a workman to show up on a certain day and customer service operated like I had said nothing).Picture of my broken door as the lock they installed was faulty.

I love my door. From the first contact to the last installer, all very nice and professional. Also, I had originally had a different company come out. they got lost. Didnt call me then and just went home. Second time and by the third screw up, I found First Impressions. And yay, they were less money. Great all around!

Im very disappointed with the company. I purchased a quite expensive door, and the door arrived with an odd hole in the door around the lock. I was told these doors were precut prior to leaving the warehouse and the installer only does the installation. The installer did a great job, but I question the companies commitment to quality control.I had to do quite a bit of calling to get someone to help me. Always passed to another person, from the installer, from the salesperson, from the complaint I finally left with the customer service group.Why on earth the door would leave without QC is beyond me, and why they would install it with an odd shaped cut for the lock and not say anything is beyond me.The level of effort I had to give to get a cover for the door they miscut is not acceptable for the price I paid. Adam our salesperson was very helpful in helping my husband and I choose our door. He virtually took a picture of our entrance and placed the door we chose in the photo. He even thought of putting the framing on the back of the opening so we would have a bigger opening to have furniture fit through easier. The person who installed was very knowledgeable and took the time to make sure he was installing it properly.

We had our door installed and we are extremely pleased with the quality and craftsmanship of the product. The installation only took about 45 minutes but the technician did a great job! First Impression visited our home and gave us an estimate for a security door. We visited their Gilbert office/display area and picked out an attractive door at a reasonable price. The installation went smoothly, on schedule, and the ugly existing security door was removed at no cost. Only thing we would do differently is include a mechanism to limit the door opening so it cant touch the house. We are quite happy with our decision to upgrade our old door.

From the start of our estimate to the final installation it was a great experience. The door is beautiful and we have been able to now bring in fresh air with the knowledge that the door will provide the same security as our current front door. Great craftmenship and great staff.

Well I feel as though the salesperson misrepresented the product. I was offered a lesser priced door cuz I didnt think $1900 for a specific design was worth it. The door I did order was $1200 but I wasnt told I wasnt getting a steel screen..which I wanted due to having a dog! I did not get what I requested and was told it would be an extra $395 after paying$1200!!! Not happy.Linda Vieira

This is my 3rd door from 1st Impression and they have always been amazing! I always recommend them for quality and service. Worth the price as everything is custom and no gaps around the edges for critters to get in which was a big thing for me. Timely and friendly as well.

My old wook front door was warping and it got to the point I could not even open it after it rained. We looked at several custom door manufacturers but chose First Impression security door referred to us by friends.. it took about 1 hour to go over what we wanted and 4 weeks later they delivered the beautiful iron front door. we were very impressed with the installer who installed the door alone. the front door looks exceptional on the house. quality workmanship and install!

I stopped by the show room one day. It is so beautiful, full of very high end doors, gates and entryways. I was surprised at the reasonable prices. I set an appointment for an in-house estimate. Needless to say a few weeks later I have a very impressive front security door! I would recommend you take a picture of the sample you choose. the color looks different then what I remembered, but I am still very happy with my purchase and have recommended them to several people

Every step in the process of buying my security door and gate was perfect. The sales Rep was very patient and understanding about my indecision. I just couldn’t make up my mind about the style. I placed an order and then changed my mind about the style. He was understanding and we talked about my concerns. I made a minor change and my order was finalized.
