Very nice store with great employees! I have to say that this is the most upscale Safeway store I have been to in terms of how it feels, mostly. I was a tourist, but felt at home in Tahoe!

I dont regularly shop here but Im thinking of switching from Nob Hill. Safeway has a decent section of organic produce and they always seem to have good sales on things I like. They have a much better selection than at Nob, as well. Its neat and clean. Plus the staff have been quite nice. I think I just convinced myself to shop here more often.

This is one of the areas large Safeways. Their is lots of parking including handicap spaces. One of the problems with this store is that carts are only stationed at the west doors and the handicap parking is near the east door. On the day of my visit I helped a handicap woman by walking down to the west door to get her a cart. This is a red flag for the store manager to get this corrected. Another deterant to shopping here is that the front of the store is stuffed full of displays and it makes it feel claustrophobic. The shopper is constantly having to manuver the cart around both displays and people. In this respect the Safeway in Morgan Hill on Tennant is more inviting. Despite these two problems the store is well stocked with a nice fruit and veggie area and friendly workers in the meat and bakery. There is usually a line at the deli, which keeps the food fresher from fay to day. With the new paving on the street it is no longer a teeth jarring ride to this part of Gilroy.

Depending on what day I go better at sometimes then others. Seems at times they are out of the sale items or produce. I have been a customer for overv10 years and appreciate a lot of the staff. I like friendly, familiar faces!

2018 Long lines and no management - unacceptable2019 March totally different store. Upgraded with quality products, fresh organic vegetables, meats, fish, grains, desserts, wines and beers.I am loving Safeway again. Also, Sanjay, new manager seems to have a good head for good customer service.Organic section is awesome.

This is a good Safeway. Usually clean and helpful employees. If I need something and I dont see it on the shelf, their employees can typically find it in back and bring it out for me.

Great place for groceries, good labeling and fantastic workers to help with directions, had a great time shopping here.

This Safeway is great! Its big, clean and has a great selection in every department. The prices are reasonable while everyone else is raising their prices Safeway tries to keep theirs affordable. Awesome job guys! Keep up the amazing work.

Safeway is staple in the community. Often with good promotions. Great fruit and other choices. I would want to see the hire more to decrease the long lines.They also do not carry much in the way of southern or soul food.

I usually have a positive experience here. Theyre pretty good about stocking except for sale items that may be all gone. Prices are higher than some other places but its within walking distance so this is my dinner ingredient fulfillment center.

Great store. Especially good produce. Good vegan source. Plenty of parking. Vast selection including some items you might think you wouldnt find except in a specialty store. Checkers are excellent and nice besides!

We needed a balloon bouquet and cake for a recent birthday. The cake was delicious And we were able to pay for everything right at the balloon register and the girl helping us was extremely friendly and helpful! We appreciate her help and we wish her well .

Isles are crowded, wine is reasonably priced, good deli selections, good produce selection, Safeway Select products are substandard compared to brand names.

This Safeway is huge! I got a little lost looking for stuff but thats only because Im not from around here, and it was my first visit. But their aisles are marked very well!This store was completely clean and had social distancing marked in every aisle and checkout lane. The employees were nice and so were the customers. I loved that they had a Starbucks inside, who were following covid guidelines as well.I would love if this was my Safeway back at home.

I came to safeway i spend my money. In which i have spent a lot of money there at rivermark plaza. There seems to be an unprofessional security guard who stands inside and regulates it. He is very disrespectful. Curses obscenities, and accuses me of assumptions (that cant be relevant to me). This guy wont let up, he has done this to many people, and not just people i know either.

Safeway was packed however they were awesome and fast at checkout. Had all the lanes open. Loved my visit.

This Safeway is not great. The lines are routinely all the way down the isles to the back of the store. Im new to Gilroy and my old grocery store in San Jose was NEVER like that. On top of the long lines they run out of basic items. I really dont like this grocery store.

Love their fresh fruits, in particular, their apples.They have a very extensive selection of apples from around the world.Not to mention their $5 Friday deals, which offer a medley of items from all departments!

In buying only about 20 items, two were considered expensive. Both had signage that said the on sale price. Neither came up as on sale when I did self check out. The helper explained that sometimes that happens. Really? If I had not been doing it myself, it probably would not have been caught. I was overcharged by $12. This is in no way the first time.

Been shopping here weekly since the first day this location opened, almost 20 years ago. Fantastic store. Great, hard working, helpful employees. Clean and well maintained building. They clearly recognize food safety standards and train according to those guidelines. Happy to call this my neighborhood store.

This Safeway on first ST.in Gilroy sometimes seems overwhelmed, over crowded, shelves dwindling with important supplies also add frustrated and impatient shoppers. Somehow manages to stay in step with the changing times to the best of their ability and theyre staff/employees help make that happen. This store works hard to keep its Gilroy customers coming back, as do many of the local big retailers. Some are more notable than others,this is not ment to force hand. For these are strange and compelling and unique ways to adjust, keep your heads up Gilroy and support your local businesses and stay strong!

Very well stocked, but I would be nice to have the self check out registers to be open, by 7 a.m. sometimes going to work you need to check out fast, not wait in line with only 1 check stand open.

Great sushi, but you have to get there when she is making it so you get extra ginger and horse radish. The bagels are really good early morning when they are fresh. The employees are all pretty cool. I go there every day, I work next door, know them well. I recommended it.

I like going to Safeway their store is clean they have good prices their vegetables are fresh their staff is friendly. They do have a self-checkout line and the options of Im buying plastic bags or paper bags or you can get the reusable bags. Theres a Starbucks and u.s. Bank also located in the store. Have a fresh deli section and their signature soups come highly recommended. Their Bakery does a good job! their brownies are amazing and they have a good pricing on birthday cakes and desserts! There baked in-store breads are always fresh and amazing! Normally there is always somebody in the bakery to be able to help you.

Excellent. One of the store managers was very helpful in locating vegetarian hotdogs. She not only directed me there but walked to show me where they were.
