My apologies for my absence. I will be post quite a few reviews this past month has been hectic between moving to our new home and getting back on our school schedule. The Monarch Diner has been our go to since getting out here. The food has been spot on, service has been on par a nice welcoming environment. It has been consistently good with great portions even on specials. If you get the chance the crab imperial fries are absolutely phenomenal, Ample crab meat in a creamy decadent cheese sauce over a bed of thick, crispy steak fries. We have been back multiple times and every time was great.
The staff is super nice and the service is great! They greeted us when we walked in and the host took us to our table in less than a minute. The food was great as well. We went for breakfast. In the picture is the skillet under the brunch menu. It consisted of potatoes, sausage, eggs, cheese and a spicy creamy sauce. The potatoes were nice and toast and crispy. They made the potatoes with onions and green peppers. Their coffee is good. When we went they did t have flavored creamer just plain half and half. The price is reasonable. Would definitely recommend for a breakfast spot.
Really great food and service. Their extensive menu makes me wanna go to this place for a a whole month and try all their food. We had the Bourbon chicken, a Fat Cowboy sub and a sampler app. Everything was great, Rich our server helped us a lot without any hesitation, he also changes my sampler because I didnt want bacon on the potato skins (totally my fault there). He also made great suggestions and the food came out very quickly even though the place was packed.
Always a great breakfast. My go to is the feta cheese omelette with tomatoes. And they offer gluten free bread. Just wish they didnt upcharge so much.
When the prices on the menu are this high, you would expect the food to be well above average in quality, preparation, presentation, and portion size. (It is a diner) It was average in every aspect. The one area the Monarch Diner surpasses expectations is service. Our server was quite obviously experienced and made my wife and I feel like we were in a 5 star restaurant where reservations are a must. If you are hungry and looking for a quick bite, or a casual inexpensive night out, this is not your place. However, if you are on a date, first or after 10 plus years of marriage, dont want to be rushed and tired of the national chains, the service and atmosphere at the Monarch Diner will provide you with the perfect memory.
Had the pancakes & hash Browns- excellent. Kids really liked their food as well, brought home what they didnt finish
The food is not bad. The lobby is a cluster F though. The area where people are to wait for a table is right on top of the area where you pay your check. It was very congested and many people were just standing in the middle of the entrance/exit. They need to work on that.
We just started going here recently. The kids love it. The food has been good. And friendly service all around. They were a little loose with their employees mask wearing so Im not sure if it is required or not, but our waiter was masked up.
I got the chicken and waffles and my boyfriend got that eggs Benedict, it was delicious! Best we have had in a long time. It was busy but our waitress Kim did an amazing job keeping up with everything. Keep doing things the way you are Monarch Diner, its so good!
Id prefer to give zero stars... The night manager might want to consider thinking before he speaks in front customers. Closing time isnt posted, youre hostess sat us, assuming you close at 10pm, arriving at 9:50pm is fair game. Making a comment in front of us that someone should have just told us you were closed, and having the waiter tell us we had 2 minutes to order take out...not the best customer service. I live 1/2 a mile from here but will drive the 5 miles to Seven Star because this manager doesnt understand the basics of running a successful restaurant.
This place is worth the trip. Great atmosphere, and excellent selection of food.
Our food was excellent and the service was quick. Our waitress, Rachel, was very kind and attentive, especially considering how busy they were. We got the Apple Jack Pork Chops and the Monarch Burger, both of which were generous portions and very filling.
Crab cakes were okay. I always get the chicken croquettes that are usually very good. This time they were not good at all and could not eat more than a few bites. Please bring back the old recipe! The sauteed lima beans were very tasty.
Absolutely loved this diner! I got the monarch burger which had bacon, cheddar cheese, crispy onions and chipotle mayo which put it over the top, fantastic meal for burger lover. And order of mozzarella sticks which was great. The menu got like everything you can think of... definitely recommend if in area!
Super clean and fresh dinner good staff and food
Monarch Diner is the latest restaurant opened by the former owners of Lamp Post Diner in Gloucester Township. Lamp Post was one of my long time favorite diners but it has gone down hill since it was sold. So, Im thrilled to see the old owners back again with Monarch. The menu is even very much the same. Its a bright and clean diner with friendly staff that serves up a ton of standard diner fare with some unique dishes thrown in for good measure. My personal favorite, a carryover from the glory days of Lamp Post, is the mile-high meatloaf. It consists of slices of meatloaf layered with mashed potatoes, cheddar cheese, onion straws and barbecue sauce. Its so nice to again be able to get this dish made as it should be!Of course, as any diner should, they do their baking on premises and serve breakfast all day. The only downside is that theyre not open 24 hours. Lamp Post isnt either though, so this is not a surprise.I anticipate that this diner will do great in my old college stomping ground of Glassboro and Im glad its still not far too from home for me since Ive already been back few times.
The food was awesome! So mabt choices at good prices. Service was impeccable as well. Worth the ride from Vineland! 💞
Had a great experience at Monarch diner! The four course meal option is a great deal, considering how expensive their desserts can be, and you get decently sized portions for all of the food that comes with the deal. I ordered the chefs salmon and crab cake special and it was by far the most delicious crab cake Ive ever eaten! The cheesecake at this restaurant is to die for! I would give this place 5 stars, however, the quality of food is a little inconsistent. My friend ordered an impossible burger and the burger patty was grainy and undercooked.The waitresses at Monarch are personable and accommodating, and they checked often to see if we needed anything. I will definitely stop by again in the future if Im ever in the area!
Food was fairly good. Salad was excellent, very crisp & fresh. My seafood combo was pretty tasty. My scallops were a little too dark. The veggies soup was really delicious. We were never given rolls like most restaurants do. Not sure if it was just overlooked. Our table was so small that it wouldnt hold our soup, salad & main dish at the same time. So the waitress took our salad before we finished when she brought our main dish. The mile-high meatloaf is 2 thin slices of meatloaf with mashed potatoes on the bottom, middle & top & topped with cheese & onion straws. I was told they would prefer to taste the meatloaf & would prefer it be sliced thicker in order to get the flavor. Oh well enough said.

Get a good meal usually but lately it seems they are too busy to do a great job..last 2 meals have been less than great.
Better than standard diner food but inexpensive as a diner should be. Peanut butter cheesecake was like taking a bite out of Jesus arm, it was incredible.
I am never disappointed here! Service is quick, staff is friendly (server Jackson tonight was very nice, attentive, and funny), and the atmosphere is always cheery. The food is reasonably priced and tastes delicious, and the vegan and vegetarian options are extensive. The seitan is a great choice no matter what you get it on, and serving sizes offer more than enough. The veg*n specials offer a vegan soup and muffin too, and the soups are particularly delicious. Ive heard on multiple occasions that the seafood is well worth it too, as the same source is used for the owners or owners high-end seafood restaurant in Philly.
South Jersey diners are different from North Jersey. Though I haven’t found my perfect dinner- this one comes close. I would consider the food to be more on the healthy side. Ex. Not much grease, cauliflower bread, egg whites, etc. The place is clean, including the restrooms, and the staff is friendly. The upgraded the look and feel which I love. The coffee is good (a bit nutty flavor).Overall, this is my go to place for breakfast and brunch and they do a fabulous job for breakfast. My recommendation- please put some trees or flowers outside to block the heavy traffic, oh and avoid putting the dish cleanup bin next to a table. Had a migraine the other day n clashing dishes did not help.4 stars - great food and service: comfy seats and clean bathroom
We ate at the restaurant really disappointed with our food. From the sweet potato fries to our hot sandwiches every was cold (not even warm). I ordered a side of marinara sauce and that too was ice cold. Probably not coming back
Had a great breakfast there today. Time provided us with great service. Finally a restaurant that can make an omelet thats not overcooked! We will be back!
Food good. Service good. Only issue was add ons were way to much money. Chocolate chips on a pancake do not cost $3.50

Friendly staff, food was good. Only complaint, English muffin on the Eggs Benedict could have been toasted more for the contrast of texture for the dish. Other than that very enjoyable, coffee was kept warm and the server checked frequently to see if we needed anything else.
Tons of food for the money. Lynn, our waitress was very good, very friendly. Great job with suggestions. Would go again.
Ordered a Chicken cheese and mushroom spinach omelette.Also With a Side of broccoli 🥦.Chicken was Dry.Broccoli was uncooked and I couldnt even cut it with a knife.2-Stars. How do u mess up and omelette?I live and glassboro and try to avoid this place because they always mess up my food orders.Place looks nice but thats about it!
Server was overworked and exhausted but was trying her best. Wrong soup was brought then when entrees were served, the other soup came. When eating the entree we found hair in the food. The server was apologetic and got us a replacement but the owner did not care about the unsanitary issue.
I ordered takeout Lasagna and Turkey dinners hostesses said 20 to 30 minutes ok no problem went to pick up my order and paid for it. In the back of my mind something told me to check it . Wrong order so I took it back inside and the owner asked me what’s wrong, I simply stated it’s the wrong order he said then why you take it Ummm because the bag says my name on it he never apologized so I said dude your very rude and I don’t ever want to eat here again that’s when the waitress began to go on a rant telling me to have a better day Miss I simply asked for a dinner that I paid for owner rude waitress rude never will go back
The service, the atmosphere, and the food was great which is why I gave Monarch Diner a five start.The crab cake dinner portions were really small but delicious.My son had a mixed seafood dinner that was delicious as well, and it had nice size portions. I will order it the next time.

I enjoyed the food that I ordered. I was very contentWith the portions which was more then I was able to finish so I did get a to go bag and enjoyed it when I had more time to complete my meal.The desserts were excellent and I was able to enjoy them greatly.

Horrible Management. I went there every week for the past few months. I go and get a new waitress that clearly was not trained. I had an issue with my food order because she did not want to check or ask. She gets her manager who handled the situation totally wrong. The manager came over with an attitude, was rolling her eyes and speaking down to our table. It was a simple fix of how can I make this right. The owner could not be bothered and then to top it off the managers daughter worked there and tried to start a fight with 2 older ladies. I left and was embarrassed for all of them.
For the price I paid for this burger, I expected to get more than 10 fries. Plus the top bun feels and looks like its been stepped on and has a hole through the middle. The patty was also small as hell compared to what I ordered the last time. Im never ordering from here again
Stopped in on a whim today while out running errands and so glad I did! I was pleasantly surprised at just how many vegan options they offered. I ended up with the na cho cheesesteak and it was delicious and the staff were so pleasant. Will be returning!
Was frightening at first seeing the parking lot packed. Only waited about 10 minutes. Very nicely social distance set up. Felt very comfortable being my 1st time indoor eating since the pandemic. Good portion size. Some of the diners give you totally to much potatoes on the breakfast plates. You see plate after plate with potatoes left heading to the trash. Service excellent. Would like to go back for lunch or dinner.
The food was very good. The service was the worst. My soup salad and meal all served at the same time. Never saw my waiter. Had to wait 30 min to get my check. Would come back for the food by staff needs to be trained correctly.
I will never come back to restaurant. Ordered my food with my family.. received it and was never checked on once. Had to ask every other staff member for everything. I had to beg for refills on our water. Checked on every other table more than once. I should get a refund for HORRIBLE SERVICE. No customer service at all
Awesome diner very clean food came super fast and my waitress Brittany was the absolute best waitress Ive had in a long long long time! She was very well put together you can tell she took pride in her make up and although she was busy she took the time to explain different things on the menu to me! Every restaurant needs a waitress like brittany!
Love, love, love this diner! It’s my local neighborhood diner that is filled with great food, a phenomenal staff, and always accommodating.
Food was good, service was fast, and the place was very clean. Very busy but they handled it very well.
This is above and beyond the textbook diner experience. Great food. Large menu. Well-Trained servers. I enjoyed a large low priced open faced pastrami Reuben and my gal had eggplant of focaccia bread. We enjoyed dining on then new covered porch area.
The food was great and they have so many options.
We had breakfast here. Texas french toast and scrambled eggs, vanilla milk shake, tea, juice, and red, white, and blue pancakes. It was okay for me. The pancakes were a little dry. All in all the portions were large and filling. It came up to about $26. The staff were kind. The diner was very clean.
This is my first time at Monarch. I ordered 2 fish & chip dinners and a side to go. When I got to the diner I was greeted in a friendly manner the facility was clean and inviting. When I paid for my order I thought it very reasonably priced.I got home and opened up my order and I was very happy. Generous portions and the food was delicious. I will be going back to Monarch Diner!!
Newly remodeled, very nice. Menu offers 4 course meals starting at $13 bucks. We love that diners are still going strong in Jersey.

Location was very clean, employees were very friendly, service was quick and food was so good! I ordered the Mediterranean Salmon Sandwich Lunch Special! It was absolutely delicious! I was very surprised with how fresh everything tasted and how well priced it was for what we got!! My mom was also with me and ordered the Chicken Bianca Lunch Special and she also loved her meal. We were very pleased and will definitely go again! :)
First time there. Got seated right away, everyone covid-conscious. Server Jordan was prompt, courteous, and got our orders in quickly. Real good turnaround on the food. Hot, very good portions and priced just right .
Just a heads up: They offer a military discount to Veterans. Also sign up for their rewards program. You earn points to use for free food. Didn’t take long to get enough for a free appetizer or slice of cheesecake!Excellent food, great service & big menu. Our waitress was Jamie & she was excellent. They even have a vegetarian menu! It was packed when we were there, but there wasn’t a long wait at all. I got the power bowl, I highly recommend it. My husband loved the burger. Could only eat half. We tried the Boston cream pie & chocolate cheesecake. Awesome!We came back & tried the vegan quesadillas in cauliflower tortilla. Not a fan of cauliflower crust, bet there’s we’re so good! My husband tries the Fisherman’s platter. The portions were huge, fresh & perfectly prepared. He also loved the seafood bisque.We came back & my husband ordered the backyard BBQ. It was enough for 2 meals. Be prepared to take some home. I had the Vegetarian Cheesesteak. Both came with soup & dessert. We both had 1/2 the meal & had to bring the other 1/2 & dessert home. We both loved our meals.
Was really surprised how good the food was. I like the decor, very modern and clean. Our waitress was great too, funny, sarcastic, and did a great job.Wings were super crispy and full of flavor. Burger was cooked perfect and was also super favorable.The only part I did not like was one of the managers or owners was kind of stalking around watching everybody. He just seemed miserable, It was kind of awkward. If he went up and greeted tables or seemed happy it would make everyone feel a lot better.

Always been a customer but have to say they lost my business.Was there yesterday and ordered 2 orders of breakfast for my wife and I sat in the diner and had a ok time due to the food came out luke warm. As we finished our breakfast we ordered 2 orders of pancakes for our 2 daughters and added chocolate chips on the pancakes. As we got the bill we had gotten charged $7.00 for the chocolate chips. I never complain about prices anywhere we go out to eat I just dont like to be ripped off. I had asked for the manager and questioned him on the chocolate each price and he blamed it on Corona virus. Give me a break. Ive been in the industry for 15 years.
As a vegan, I was glad to see so many vegan options on the menu. Our food was pretty good and our server was really amazing. His name was Brandon and he was the type of server everyone should have while dining out. He was informative, attentive, and just genuinely good-hearted. Will definitely go back.

We went yesterday 3/29/21 around 11 am . We were seated right away in a booth glass partition between booths.The gentleman who seated us was also our waiter. His apron and shirt were filthy.He was pleasant and very busy.Our food arrived hot and looked very good.My husband’s pancake were doughy and difficult to cut. Hate to send good back.We have been here many times, not sure if we will return.

This Monarch Diner is not the same Monarch Diner of 2 years ago. In only two years it seems like theyve aged 20. Ridiculously huge menu, and all about quantity over quality of their food. Monarch used to be such a great Diner until I revisited.
They have a vegan menu which is amazing. The vegan cheese steak was delicious. Definitely a great place for non-vegans and vegans to go together.
Love it love it great place had to take some to go dinner for my family but I do want to try there desserts and drinks Ill keep you posted google
Ordered a cheesesteak sandwich and it came out drenched. Plate was soaked. The meat was freezer burnt and you can tell of course because of the taste. Didnt bother sending back because I was in a rush and too dam hungry.
Love their new eat out area. Waitresses work hard and are very friendly. Food is good.

The server threw the plate at my 5 year old and turned away so fast he didnt even see that the entire plate spilled on the seat and floor. It was just fries and chicken fingers, and he was gone so long, we ate the chair chicken and got the heck put of this place. With all the options around, no reason for us to come back here.
We ordered two breakfast menu items slightly after 6pm online. At 7:40 PM we received the order - completely cold and unappetizing, with no Syrup, condiments, napkins, anything. Avocados were brown as well. They claimed it was due to a delay from their delivery service, but that should be accounted for on their end by at LEAST keeping the food warm. I can’t speak for the indoor dining, but I could not be more dissatisfied with our delivery order. Will certainly not be going back here again.
Everything is very clean, our waitress was very nice. The food was excellent! Its always excellent! One of my favorite places for lunch.

Arrived around 10 for a full breakfast. Two platters delivered around 10:30. A waitress came by and warmed up our coffee around 10:55. Didnt get to drink it because our waiter informed us that our table was needed now. Left rather than make a scene. Shame on you!
