Wont return. They quoted me double the recommended labor time as well as quadruple the price of parts. The owner or gm or whoever he is isnt professional and I started talking about actual prices and was told to leave cuz there were other customers there. Old management actually seemed to care where as current doesnt. Told me labor was $130 an hour and their prices on paper reflected 300 an hour. They pay Maybe $11 an hour to their employees.

This is the absolute worse place to get brakes. I have had so many problems after I got mine changed. ABS light on,no cruise control, and now today the ABS light on plus 4x4 high light flashing when I brake. I am beyond frustrated!

I come here for my oil changes and tire rotations. I have a new car and dont live close to the dealership otherwise Id let them do all my work. The very first time I came here I was pretty nervous since its a brand new car and didnt know anyone who had gone there before me. They always have the same mechanic work on my car everytime i come in, his name is Tyler and he does a really great job. He takes his time and makes me confident in bringing my car here. As long as Tyler continues to do my regular maintenance, ill continue to come this location!

They accidentally repaired the wrong tire which happened to also have a nail in it. Brought it back and they didnt charge me to fix the other. Worked out to my advantage for a minor inconvenience. $20 well spent.

Ron and josh awesome mechanics, these guys are considerate, hardworking, honest, and they are willing to go over things and ease my anxiety, and are always kind and professional. im recommending these guys specifically to my friends. Midas, give these guys a raise, they go way above and beyond the call of employment here to satisfy customers, and they really take pride in their work. i keep coming back because i dont mind waiting a couple extra hours to get quality work done.

Please read before you get ripped off.This place charged my son $778 for about $100 in parts and $100 of labor.$479 to change a $19 ignition lock cylinder(charged $150) and $10 battery terminals(charged $29) plus $300 labor for something that takes an average mechanic an hour to do.They charged $30 to install a $150 battery.The only thing they did at standard rates were an oil change and tire repair.My son is working his way through college and this place took complete advantage of him. The car is a 1999 GMC Jimmy and he was convinced that it needed the repairs because they could tell someone had worked on the car before? Really? It’s 21 years old and you should be ashamed of yourself.I have the receipt and will be contacting the better business bureau and an attorney in the region.

Awesome experience considering, ya know, my car was acting crazy. I had a crack in my reservoir, & because of that I couldn’t keep coolant in at all. The whole team was personable, & efficient. Special mention to Aaron! Thank you! I will need tires soon- will definitely be back.

Place use to be great, but I guess they have new people in. Prices are also ignorant. They wanted $50 per tire to mount and balance. Meineke in highland only charges $20 per tire for the same service.

These guys had specialized knowledge about my crown vic and what they tend to do as cars in general breakage wise. Drove me from and back to the store as my car was incapacitated, very down to earth and didnt sugar coat anything. Was willing to try a risky repair even though if they messed it up I wouldnt pay anything. Feel as though they genuinely care about their clients.Would recommend to anyone having car issues!

If you have coupons, they are great for oil changes, brakes, and especially wheel alignments. They seem to be knowledgeable and fairly honest about your car issues. I did not experience any high pressure sales like they do at any of those fast oil change places that try to up sell you on everything, even stuff you ABSOLUTELY dont need. Wont name names but you know who they are. Staff was nice too.

I had a new resonator and muffler put on my 97 classic del Sol I spoke to Eric. His workmanship and attention to details on my car was top notch. I can only speak about the exhaust work they do in the shop. But the manager Al and Eric got my car in and looks amazing. Definitely would and already have recommended them to others. The professionalism of this shop is absolutely absurd. Took car in for abnormal noise. We were told to drop keys into the box and leave the car. Which is fine due to covid-19 and understandable. Unfortunately I didn’t get contacted about the issue for another 3 days. On the phone call we were told it would be roughly around $800 for a failed brake line and bad calibers. The shop was given the go ahead to fix the issue. We didn’t receive a call till another 2 days later, which is fine repairs take time. UNFORTUNATELY they never test drove the car in the first place and misdiagnosed the actual issue. We were assured it was the ball joint and would be around $400. We were upset the car was not test driven before diagnosis and made to believe it was being repaired but instead sat around 2 days. The shop told us the car would be ready that day at 2pm. We showed up that day at 2pm when we were told it would be ready. Had to call and was told the car would not even be ready that day (I would’ve understood if they had called me before I drove all the way to town to pick up the car but instead found out after I CALLED THEM) The ball joints were “repaired” and we received the car a few days later. When we picked up the car the dash has lights displayed that were not there previously. The shop was called immediately while we were still in the lot. We were told he forgot to tell us he broke the ABS sensor and would have to get the part in to fix it then we’d be called when the part was in. I’ve called many times since April 30th. No answer. I thought maybe they knew my number and were avoiding me. I’ve called from multiple numbers, this shop doesn’t answer. I tried contacting corporate May 5th and was on hold for 32 minutes before I gave up. FINALLY the shop answered my phone call on May 6th. I called asking about when the part because I haven’t heard when it would be in. I asked when the part would be in because because it is effecting how I get to work (I can not use cruise and there is a TERRIBLE noise coming from the rear). I was told the part was not there and he did not know when it would be in and was incredibly disrespectful. I told him I would rather him of called and let me know what was going on rather than not contacting me for 6 days. While I was talking and asking for more information he hung up on me. This is not how customers should be treated even if I was agitated by the lack of service. I AM NOT HAPPY AND EXPECT THIS TO BE FIXED.EDIT: I TOOK APART THE CAR AND IT WAS NEVER FIXED. THIS IS A CLASSIC CASE OF FRAUD. ALL BOLTS ARE CORRODED OVER IN RUST WITH NO MARKINGS FROM TOOLS.

I came in for my appointment this evening and asked for the synthetic blend oil change costing $39.99. The gentleman behind the counter said he would be willing to do the full synthetic for $49.99. I agreed to it and he took my keys. When my vehicle was complete he proceeded to tell me that my total was $75.XX. I reminded him that he said he would do the work for $49.99, he then proceeded to tell me that my vehicle needed 8 quarts, even though he was well aware of the make and model of my vehicle, there was no mention of the increase in price. This is the last time I will bring my business to Midas. This is not my first experience with dishonest business practices coming from Midas I was also told from another Midas location a few years back I needed over $5000 of work on my vehicle and received A second opinion who told me I was just in need of a tune up and the brakes and other things suggested were not needed. Midas- You need to review your business practices and hold your employees responsible for unethical behavior. Enough is enough.

Ive brought my car for a long time now. Never had an issue - always said it was great service. My oh my, how things change. Took my car in for a routine oil change - run of the mill stuff. Never got a call saying it was ready. Usually I stay with my car, but this time, I had to drop it off and run a few other errands - big mistake!When I finally did get my car back, I went to plug in my phone (I have a long commute so I always keep a charger in my car) and my charging cable was gone. Looked between the seats, under the seats, everywhere I knew the cable woudnt be (because its always in the same spot!) AND THEN, over the weekend, while traveling, I needed to use my Power Inverter (also always in the same spot) and it was gone! I called Midas twice about both things and both times they said - well, it must have fallen between your seats we dont have them.Sorry Midas, I dont buy it. It might be time we start seeing other mechanics. Its totally you this time.

This location told me I needed $1200 worth of work done to fix a noise I heard in the rear of my vehicle. Went to get a 2nd opinion and got the issues fixed for less than half the price. I’m a little disappointed as the person who advised me of this work seemed very confident. I did NOT need all that work done and I feel they were trying to take advantage. Won’t be going here for any mechanical issues

Quick answer...very disappointing. Received an incorrect patch job and was put in a dangerous situation as a result.Longer answer...Got a flat repair and spent a little more time with the family. Two hours later, loading up to go back to Chicago, the dash tire signal said low psi. Took it back in and instead of inspecting, they just filled it back up with air saying the person who filled it up just didn’t fill it up enough to begin with.Thirty minutes down the interstate going 70 mph the sensor went off again and within 45 seconds the tire was completely flat. Changed to the spare and continued on to Chicago. Come to find out from our mechanic at home they just put a patch on it and put us in a really dangerous situation.

We are from over 2 hours away. Our son and his girlfriend were stranded on the side of the road. We drove down to help them. We were referred to Midas by the Walmart across the street. My wife went in to ask if they could help us. The lady at the desk didnt hesitate and Sid they could look at it within the hour of the tow. She even told us where to get a tow from. They were very nice, honest and really cared for us. We can not thank them enough for their help.

The people who work here are friendly but they will definietly over charge you if they feel they can. I have gotten estimates for breaks here twice and both times it was almost double what other places told me it would cost. Would not recommend this place for anything but maybe an oil change if you’re in a pinch.

Our car sits on the lift for an hour before they even look at it, they are not busy at all. We set up an appointment, get here and the website doesnt work for appointments!? The gentleman who got in our car didnt have a mask on! This store is ridiculous!

I have had several oil changes and minor repairs made on my vehicles over the past couple years here. I liked Midas because the oil changes were cheap and they offered student discounts. If you arent mechanically inclined however, they will tell you your vehicle is unsafe to drive when in reality certain repairs can wait. Several times I felt as if the mechanics were simply intimidating me into getting repairs. I would not recommend this Midas unless you are strictly doing oil changes.

I got a quote to install a new AC compressor for $666.96 on 4-17-2017. Scheduled an appointment and showed up today (5-10-2017) and they tried to charge me $877.12. Refused to honor estimate because they claimed employee did it incorrectly. Offered a $30 coupon as a sorry.I have had descent service in the past. Its a shame they refuse to honor their estimate.

I had never been to Midas before this or ever will again. My check engine light went on. I went to AutoZone and they checked it for free and said it was incorrect flow in the air injection system. I saw that Midas had a free check engine light service on their big board outside. So I setup an appointment online and dropped my keys off that night in the key drop after hours. I worked from home the next day as my wife and I have two cars. She got home so I took the other car in to see what was wrong with the sensor and car. They gave me a code and said it was the Secondary Air Injection System had an incorrect flow. They also suggested new front struts with bearings and bushings. The car I took in was a VW Jetta. The person in front said we can fix it but it could bring up more codes and suggested I take it to a VW dealership. Thought it was weird he would say that. I know more codes can come up but never gonna know until that gets fixed first. So I said ok I appreciate the information and I will take it to another shop. The front desk lady and main guy that came out that I talked too were nice the whole time. That being said when he went to get my keys they couldnt find them at all. I stayed at the shop until 10 minutes before close and they couldnt find my keys still. He said, Can we have time to look and I will give you a call when we find them? I didnt have any other choice. So my wife and I drove home and got the spare keys and went back and took the car off the lot. I have a spare set and I went back to the shop the next day to see about my keys. I never received any calls from Midas when they were done inspecting the car, an estimate, or the next day about keys at all. So I stopped in the next day after work hoping they found my keys. After waiting for a little bit they had found my keys and I was on my way. One of the mechanics told me they were in a different vehicle and was glad he caught it cause that vehicle got picked up within a hour of him finding the keys. First impressions do leave a lasting mark when it comes to this store. I will never step foot in it again. I know mistakes happen but there is protocol for all of this and not even receiving a phone call the whole time this went on was absurd. I just took my car a minute drive away to Dobbs Tire and Auto and had no problems whatsoever. They had no problem doing the work(sensor light went off after air injection system was fixed), they said I didnt need or suggest new front struts with bearings and bushings like Midas did. Dobbs called and told me the problem and estimate when done inspecting the car, and the most basic thing is they didnt lose my keys. The people I talked to at Midas in person were ok but didnt seem to have much organization or would I feel comfortable with them touching my car again.*Update*Within a day of seeing the reply I went to the link and filled out the info. All it does is go to corporate out of state. They want the complaint info yet no response back weeks later.

Had a appointment this morning for a oil change & tire rotation. I was greeted with a warm good morning & smile by Sharon ( sorry if spelled wrong), which these days is hard to find people that seem to enjoy their job! She was very knowledgeable as well as being friendly. Brandon(my technician) came and got me walked me through a couple things, he was equally as polite and friendly, took his time to explain a couple things to me, I didnt feel pressured at any point in our interaction, he told me what else he was going to do and told me about how much longer it would be. When he was done he came in, smiled told me I was all ready to go, he had pulled my car directly in front of the door, I paid and walked out thinking WOW what a GREAT customer experience. This all may seem simple to most people but being in the customer service industry for well over 20 years its a big deal to me to see outstanding customer service still exists!!!! I will be a customer for life at the Glen Carbon Midas!!! Thank you for starting my day off with a smile!!:)

I have had a check engine light issue for over a year now. My vehicle was in the shop multiple times and had multiple things replaced, from sparks plugs and wires to fuel pump, o2 sensor, catalytic converter, ignition coil, intake manifold gasket, etc, and have still had the same codes pop up on cylinder 2 and 4. After taking it to the dealership because Midas didnt have the equipment to test it, it now needs a new engine because the head gasket was blown. I dont understand why it was never suggested that it was the head gasket after I have spent thousands of dollars trying to repair the check engine issue and still not getting the problem resolved? Now, im left with a vehicle that needs a new engine, after I have already replaced numerous things in the engine. Can you please help me understand this?

I dropped my vehicle off for an oil change and inspection of a few concerns. I had a good idea of the cause of the concerns but the opinion of a pro is typically a good idea. GTP looked at my vehicle and called me with his report. He was detailed with his explainations and appeared honest, knowledgeable, and friendly. The other staff members were very welcoming as well. The experience was exactly what I would expect and will surely be back for step 2 of this particular diag process.

My partner took his SUV here last week to repair his brakes and the problem he was experiencing with his gear shifter. Midas had the job done in two days. Well, they did not have it done properly, they returned his SUV with an awful sound radiating from his breaks that was NOT there when he left it in their hands, nor did they repair his gear shift, yet charged him and his mother over $1,100 dollars to fix the problem. They claimed he just needed a break booster, but failed to notify them that his break cable had rusted out and did not fix it on the car. Then when he tried to leave a gas station after work Sunday night his SUV would not get out of park, so he had to have it towed back to the shop on his own expense to have them try to fix it once again, which they failed after a second attempt. The gear shift is still useless and was not screwed back into his center counsel. They refused to admit that he could have risked his life due to their negligence as well as other drivers around him, they refused to admit their failure in their sloppy work, and treated him and his family like they were the issue at hand. I would NEVER send my worst enemy to get their car worked on by these people. They are rude, cruel, lazy, and negligent.

*Date of service October 26th*I have always HATED getting my oil change. The new manager Mary is phenomenal and got me in and out for my oil change even while busy, normally I can expect 2-3 hour wait and she got me done in under 40 minutes IF that long. Love the new management and will not hold off on oil changes anymore lol 😂
