I took my car to Stan because I wanted to go to a shop that specializes in transmissions and I trust the AAMCO brand name. Stan is truly a seasoned expert and understands the technical aspects of transmissions backwards and forwards and on top of that he truly cares about your satisfaction and his reputation as a professional. Stan gave me a ride twice in his personal vehicle in order to ensure my satisfaction. His shop uses the latest computer diagnostics. The rate he charged for rebuilding my transmission was in line with the average charge for AAMCO shops in the Chicago area, according to my research. An investment in a rebuild can extend the life of my car several years but its a big investment so I wanted to be sure it was done by an experienced professional who specializes in transmissions that I could trust and I am glad I brought it to Stan.

This place was great. Took my Tahoe to another transmission place prior to calling AAMCO as a check on price. Stan the man took my call and confirmed the price was in the ball park over the phone. He then explained what AAMCO has to offer without being pushy. I really liked what I heard so I decided to leave the other transmission place and limp my car over to them. Within an hour they had diagnosed my issues and had a hard quote to me (with 3-year unlimited mile warranty). The transmission was done and I had my car back in 2 days unlike the the other place that said it would take about a week. Stan delivered on every promise he made. I highly recommend this place they really delivered a quality service in a very timely manner!

Recently my truck did the walk of shame up the flatbed after it would not shift out of 2nd gear. The transmission had been acting up and I knew I was going to be in for a hefty bill if the issue was not related to sensors or fuses. I called around to several shops and did my online research and came across this AAMCO shop near my house. Stan kept in communication and the truck was done sooner that was expected. The shop was clean and Stan took the time to explained exactly what they did. Stan Da Man helped me thru a transmission repair that was covered by a warranty company. Stan not only had the trans repair covered to the maxium allowed under the warranty, but, patiently worked thru this process that took almost 3 weeks to complete. He arranged for a ride back to my place when I dropped off the vehicle for inspection. First time customer at AAMCO. I brought my 99 Jeep in because there was a knocking sound coming from somewhere under the dash, and I couldnt figure out what it was, so I feared the worse and thought it might be something in the transmission. Turns out when I had done some engine work a few weeks prior, I had installed a part upside-down.... Anyway, the guys at AAMCO fixed it for me for no charge, and didnt even give me a hard time for making such a bonehead mistake! 5 stars for friendly customer service and a classy move for not charging me for the quick fix.

Stan is a PHENOMENAL mechanic. I originally took my car to another mechanic that quoted me $4700 (and not covered by my warranty) and said my Battery, Engine, AND Transmission all needed to be replaced. Stan got ahold of it, charged my battery up (it was fine), told me my transmission was fine, and the only thing he needed to do was replace my engine. He worked with me and was able to get that quote down to $3450 and managed to get $2500 of it covered by my warranty. So in total, I only paid $950 instead of $4700. Couldnt be more grateful. This place is awesome, and its now my go-to place to get my car serviced.You see, I drive an Audi A6, and I love the car. I drive 90 miles (round-trip) to work every day, and in these crap winters, the car pulls me through the worst of snow and ice. The problem with owning an Audi is that a lot of mechanics wont touch them, and if they do, theyre gonna bend you over the service desk. That did NOT happen with Tim and his crew. Tim provided service beyond anything I could have hoped for, he saved me a TON of money, and my car is like new.I was seriously thinking of buying another car because mine is high in miles, and the repairs used to just kill my wallet. However, after having it worked on by Tim and company, Im keeping my car. It runs great, and if it ever needs more work, Im not going to have to take food out my kids mouths to pay for repairs. My 2007 Buick needed a trans and cooler lines. I dropped the car off, having never delt with the place. Car was inspected needed a axle shaft too. Work was done, I got a nice Covid discount. Had an issue after work was completed. AAMCO did some adjustments. Now the car drives great. I appreciate the hard work in exchange for my hard earned money. I reccomend them.

I couldnt be happier with the service I received at AAMCO in Glen Ellyn. Stan and his guys are awesome. My truck broke down on my way home from work on Monday. Stan and his guys helped me get the truck into the shop without a tow! My Trans was SHOT! on Tuesday they had the final price and the parts ordered. It was done on Thursday afternoon, I picked it up on Saturday morning. Driving better than before the breakdown and no surprises with the price when I picked it up. Fast, friendly, reasonable price. Id 100% let these guys do more work on my truck!!!

The guy at counter gave me a quote for the issue I had which I knew was overpriced, but then he reduced the.price.on it when I said its too much. I thought I had transmission issue, but he assessed it not to be that, but a simple faulty sensor malfunction. Seemed friendly. I did not end up getting it fixed from there.

Terrible service. Walked in and man behind the counter was on the phone, gave me a wave at least so I waited. Ten minutes go by and Im still waiting, at one point he mentioned to whoever he was talking to that he had a customer, but this did not change his conversation or lead to any service. Five more minutes went by and I was out of there down the street to Car X who was very helpful. Dont come here expecting any kind of service

Had my cv axle replaced on the passenger side. Halfway through the 1 hour procedure I got a call that my brake pads are worn and that they should be replaced. I wasnt pressured into having it done right away which I appreciate. The repair was satisfactory and my car drives normally again.

I took my car to get the free Trasmission Multi-Point Check for my car, because there were some issues with my car. My appointment was at 9:00 a.m., and I arrived at 8:50 a.m. When I walked through the door, they immediately welcomed me by saying Hello and good morning! How can we help you today?. I told them why I was there, and they were able to start on my car right away. They let me know it would be a couple of hours to get that done. They had it done in about an hour. They let me know what the issues were and the costs involved. They said it would be about 3 hours or so to get everything done. They were right about the time! During the process, they kept me informed about the progress of the issues. They were so nice and courteous. I would definitely recommend this location for any car issues. I had the transmission rebuilt by Glen Ellyn AAMCO, earlier this year but later started to receive transmissions faults. Stan told me to bring my truck in, and his team quickly identified that the issue was a bad torque converter and replaced it for me free of charge standing by their warranty. The truck is now driving great. Way to go Stan and Glen Ellyn AAMCO!!!

Got My Brakes Done Their Wonderful Place.

I went here when my check engine light was on. They did a good job fixing the car.Then my car had a hard time starting up. I thought the starter was going bad. Then the rain came and it just did not start at all. Had the car towed to my home and then four days later, it started. I drove it here. I told jerry I think the starter is going bad. The car had a hard time turning over. After the hard rain, The car did not start at all. Jerry told me he was going to run a Diagnostic on the car. I did not know the starter would pass because the car was running. No one told me. Jerry told me my car battery terminal was dirty and had to be clean. Then It rain again. The car did not turn over again. I did find out it was the starter. I called Jerry. He could not find a way to get my car on the road again. Then I had to rudely hang up on him. Note to self just becase the car passed does not mean it will fail a week later.

I was referred to Aamco for repairs because the name Aamco has a good reputation. At the Glen Ellyn location I met Stan. When I asked about the price, he explained everything that gets done during the process. He is very professional and doesnt miss a thing. Even after his mechanic started the work and mentioned he needed more parts, Stan did not charge me more than the already agreed upon price. A quality you dont find in too many other places. Stan has been in the transmission business for a very long time. If you need it done right, done completely, and done with the utmost of customer satisfaction, you need to see Stan at Aamco in Glen Ellyn.
