We recently bought an old Jon boat from a private owner. Brought the engine by the shop and the owner took a look at it and gave me some tips on getting the ‘ol Evinrude up and running. He didn’t want my money or anything. I got it up and running with his advice. A summer of family fun was had!!! Thanks guys!!!

THE best marine mechanic in the valley, period. Jimmy is an expert in all phases of engine, outboard motor, sterndrive and electrical and his decades of experience in his field set him apart. If you have been let down by fly by night, shabby workmanship or any other myriad of problems arising from sub standard, minimum effort “ mechanics “, then you will certainly appreciate Jimmy’s thorough no shortcut attitude.

Having been referred to Valley Marine after speaking with them I found them unprofessional and somewhat rude. As a result, I wouldn’t consider using them in the future for any of my service work whatsoever. I would rather spend my money with a company that values relationships and prides themselves in professionalism. Not recommended…

I think that definitely they can provide better customer service, they treat you like if they are doing you a favor. They sent me out on my luck. Got it fix with some advice from Glendale marine and only cost me $20 dlls . Not $500 like they wanted to charge me. Dont get me wrong, the old guy is very knowledgeable but he will not try to help you if you dont have enough money, ge will tell you to return when you have the money.

We returned $140.00 worth of parts (2 parts) after a restocking fee of 15-20% our mechanic educated us on the poor practices of Valley Marine and let us know we could get the OEM parts for $15 a piece. That’s a 400% markup!!!! I believe this business takes advantage of new or unknowledgeable boat owners and the individuals who represent this company are arrogant, condescending and have no respect for the consumer. Although unethical, their practices are not illegal. BUYER BEWARE. DO YOUR RESEARCH. STAY AWAY.

Wonderful old fashioned shop which seems to have everything that the big stores don’t have and at very reasonable prices. Add to that the personal helpful service and you have a winner.

They did an amazing job. They turned my 2008 Tahoe q4 lemon. Into a boat that feels and sounds brand new. I appreciate everything they did. Its totally worth it and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone needing a fix on their boat.

My husband and I took our Lil boat for some minor repair we were told 400 at the most...we were charged 800 and no one called for our approval..that bad business if you ask me...will not be back...might fill law suit... and now the owner is trying to lie my husband did not authorize those things that were done to the boat he didnt authorize the price of course he paid it because he wanted his boat back

I have been doing business with Gene & Valley Marine since the mid 1980s. Everything from scheduled annual maintenance to selling my boat on consignment. I recently purchased a used boat from them and I am extremely happy with the deal. Not the cheapest but they are the best...

I called and tried to get a quote on the issue I was having with my boat. All the man on the phone did was bash the competition for having lower prices, interrupt me when I tried to ask a question, and then hung up on me in the middle of me asking a question. Perhaps he was having a bad day or is new there, or whatever, but thats not how you treat people. Quite rude.

We bought a used Sea Ray from these guys in March this year. My wife and I have had the best summer ever! We took it out to Lake Pleasant at least 3 times a month and its ran perfectly every time. I took it in last week for a routine service, and the owner even remembered my name! I highly recommend this shop to anyone thinking about buying a used boat! Thanks Gene!

I have done business with Valley Marine for almost 40 years- the service is as good as it gets! My equipment operates reliably and properly. The ONLY company I will have service my outboard motors is Valley Marine.(I was in the Marine/marina/Sales business for Over 25 years- all our rental motors were serviced by Gene and his crew at Valley)Great service and parts selection, honest quotes for work.

The guys here are professional with a ton of knowledge and great advice..

I was told their base price was $490 they should be able to do all the work underneath that if not they would call me and tell me the price difference before they did the work well guess what I showed up to ask about my boat they said its been done and it was $800 with a charge for $70 for lube Horrible experience do not bring your boat here

Pretty good job by these guys. Worked on my boat and trailer. Saw me right away and was able to turn out the finished product ahead of schedule. Yeah, the cost was a lot, but so was the amount of work they had to do to get me back up and running.

Awsome place to do business withI had an outdrive repaired and the engine rebuilt at the same time. Gene explained everything that was to be done up front and gave me a really good price. Poor service over phone just called for starter and asked why are they so much cheaper online. The employee said well go for it and just hung up. Poor customer service I had other questions to ask but they will never receive my business. I would give zero stars if possible.

This place is the worse do not take anything here to get any service done. I brought my boat in for a linkage adjustment since it wasn’t in neutral. I got a call 2 weeks later from gene telling me that I needed to replace a whole bunch of parts including the fuel pump and lines, the throttle cables, the throttle controls box, and a few more that I had no idea what they were. He estimated the parts at $1800 and told me the boat wasn’t worth his time to fix. I was told that they adjusted the link and replaced the fuel pump and it was running. ALL were lies. Charged me $531 for 5 min worth of work and didn’t tell me how much it was until I walked in to pick it up. By then I had no choice. The saddest thing of all is I took it home and it wasn’t even fixed. The boat wasn’t in neutral and turning in like they said and the fuel pump wasn’t replaced. After about 25 min of my husband adjusting the link himself it turned right on and worked great. WITHOUT replacing ANY parts. I called gene to talk about the situation and he was very rude and disrespectful telling me that they been in business longer than anybody and that he’s not obligated to do anything about it. So I had to pay them $531 to literally do NOTHING

I called 2 days in a row to try and get information about their inventory. The 1st day the guy on the phone got frustrated with the questions and told me just bring a pocket full of cash and a credit card, and we can get you in a boat. Basically seemed like he did not care to answer my questions any longer...... Day 2, I called and stated I found something online and I wanted to know the price of, it had been sold. I then asked what other boats they had in my price range, he then stated again, I am gonna tell you what I tell everybody else, just bring a few credit cards and a debit card and we will get you in a boat...So.. Although he did not say anything vulgar, it just seems he does not care to build a customer relationship and actual sell boats. This attitude towards the customer creates a distant/standoffish environment to do business. I will not be doing business with them, since it seems they dont have time for my questions or professional engagement of a customer.

Quality work!

Poor customer service! Verbally aggressive over the phone and in person. Over pricing products that are less than generic quality products to make a couple extra bucks. Yet he prides they have been in service for sooo many years and have sooo many customers, and are sooo busy. Nope a barely making it company trying to get some extra $$ off many non educated new boat owners. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere even if its an hour longer drive away.

Very expensive shop!! Took my boat in and they were asking for $1500.00 for sealing some through hull penetrations that were leaking. I waited some time to post this review as I just got the repairs done at another shop that charged $560.00 with washing it down as a courtesy and repolishing some chrome. I can totally see how people can complain about this shop being rud as well!! Stay away.

This is the worst shop in AZ they charge $450 just to check my boat they didnt disarm anything just woke around the boat and assuming the problem they say $6000 to fix it I go to other shop and they fix it for $1800 I dont recommend this shop

BEWARE - This was the most unprofessional and horrible experience. We took a boat there we bought to have the motor serviced. Gene called my husband and told him the ‘motor didn’t work.’ When we went to talk to him he told me that ‘the motor works but has problem with the lower gears, he said it’s not worth fixing and we should buy a motor from him for $4,000.’ They didn’t even reconnect everything they took apart when we picked it up.That type of discrepancy in what is said to a customer is not professional and does not create consumer confidence.

Crooks! I left them my propeller to send out for repair they never called me back to tell me it was back and ready. Finally I went by there store to see if it was there and it was hanging on there for sale wall. Then to get it back from him he charged me $100 more than he quoted me because he said the prices went up do not go there!!! Somebody needs to put this guy out of business so he quit robbing people tempted to do it myself Im so upset

Horrible attitude on Phone Charging 103.73 dollars for an outboard impeller kit when the manufactures MSRP is 74.99 and 37.36 for a seal kit that has a manufactures MSRP of 21.39 most shops are generally cheaper than MSRP on factory parts stay away from these price gougers
