We were initially drawn to Glenbrook Remodeling because of their design aspect. We had somewhat of a vision of how we wanted our new kitchen to look and feel but ultimately were still unsure. After going to Glenbrook Remodeling, Robert, the design consultant, listened to our ideas and eventually proposed a couple of designs, one of which we ended up going with. Once he projected it on the screen, we realized that it was a design that we never would’ve been able to come up with on our own. It looked fantastic and more spacious than any of the designs we had envisioned ourselves. By seeing Roberts design up on the screen, were able to view everything from every angle and it made it easier to visualize the finished space. It’s amazing the creativity and experience that went into the design process. Once we had the blueprint, we just worked out the finishes and then the work started.Alex and Mike did a great job building the kitchen. We also had them do our laundry room in the basement which badly needed an upgrade and they did a fantastic job creating a pantry area, a broom closet, and building a mechanical room for our furnace and water heater. They worked on both spaces at the same time and completed in about 8 weeks. Our kitchen looks and feels much bigger and the laundry room looks sleek. We felt like we were in good hands with Glenbrook Remodeling from start to finish with every little detail worked out. Their design, quality, and work were exceptional!

After a couple of meetings with Robert, we decided to go with Glenbrook Remodeling and could not be more pleased. Our kitchen update was well worth the investment. Replace countertops, add backsplash, update lighting and add wine fridge.Robert listened to our ideas and understood what we wanted. We did have a few covid setbacks with backsplash tiles out of stock and had to start over. We wanted to update our kitchen -- replace the countertop, add backsplash, install new sink and faucet. After having googled some local companies, we made an appointment with Glenbrook Remodeling, who had excellent reviews. We met with Alex, the owner, and Robert, the design consultant. They were very accommodating and forthcoming about how the project will unfold. Based on our budget and ideas, Robert and Alex were able to provide solid guidance that made us feel confident that our project is in good hands.We met with Robert several times to finalize the product selection. On one occasion we showed him a quite intricate tile pattern for the backsplash, which was a little too dark for our kitchen. After several days he contacted us to show that he found a perfect match to what we wanted in the right color combination and in the same pattern.The project was done according to the timetable Alex promised -- it took just several days to complete. Everyone who came in to do their part in this project worked accurately and efficiently. Mike did an outstanding job with installing the complex pattern of the backsplash.In the end, we are very happy with our new, modern-looking kitchen. Glenbrook Remodeling did a great job, and they are a good group of professionals you can trust. We recommend them highly and without hesitation.

Alex, Mike, and Robert are great guys to work with if youre thinking of doing some remodeling! Our project was relatively straightforward, they removed some old built ins in the basement and replaced it with a custom dry bar.We had an initial call, they took some measurements, talked about what we wanted to do, then they proposed a design. Once we signed on, it took a couple weeks to order materials and get started. Once the materials came in, the project started and they were very responsive the entire project.They wrapped up yesterday and we are extremely happy with the overall results and love the look and feel of our basement now. They did an excellent job!

I received a quote from Glenbrook Remodeling to remove wallpaper and paint a 1,250 square foot apartment. All walls, including all the closet doors, were wallpapered. They did an amazing job at removing the wallpaper and then painted the entire apartment and all closets. They were professional, polite and meticulous. I can highly recommend them.

From start to finish, my bathroom remodel project was an absolute pleasure. Alex, Robert, Mike and the entire crew were professional, respectful, and responsive. They are all also delightful people to work with and get to know. My small ranch house has only one bathroom on the main floor so it really mattered that it not only function but look beautiful. Before, it was severely dated in various shades of tans and brown. Additionally, a previous owner had closed in a closet in the adjoining room so there was a cavity of maybe 9 sq feet that was walled in and wasted. Gutting the bathroom and opening that space into it created so much light and life and space. Working with Robert, we developed a timeless design that maximized everything the space had to offer. The team was on budget, on time (despite working under Covid-19 conditions) and always kept me informed. The crew fully cleaned up after each work day so the messiness was minimized. I am thrilled with the finished space and would seriously consider using Glenbrook Remodeling again when its time to take on my kitchen. Very highly recommend Glenbrook Remodeling! They just remodeled our bathroom and we will be going to them for all future remodel projects. We were extremely pleased with everything: quality of work in both design and build, great attention to detail, and reasonable cost. Robert, Mike, and Alex were very personable, knowledgeable, on time, kept the work area clean, and managed the project very well.Our bathroom remodel was a complete gut job. We converted our shower and tub into a walk-in shower with a glass door, moved a wall slightly to create space for a huge vanity with two sinks and lots of storage, added more outlets, removed the soffit above the shower, and upgraded all the finishes. We had the general idea for these changes, and Robert took these ideas and put together an amazing, spa-like design beyond anything we could have envisioned ourselves. I worked with Robert and spoke frequently with owner as well. Very detailed and responsive to all my remolding needs. They were able to be flexible to my needs and fully accommodated my requests with in reason. The quality was also awesome!!!!!

Our job was fairly small for a company like this but no less important to us.From our first meeting through to completion yesterday, they were pleasant to deal with, did what they promised, had someone here with the subcontractor to make sure everything proceeded smoothly, were able to resolve a minor problem quickly and, finally, delivered a great product.We will definitely work them again for a much bigger project.

My wife just sits in the kitchen and marvels at the beautiful work that Glenbrook Remodeling did for us. Over and above the fact that it looks beautiful, using the same space they made the kitchen larger and much more efficient than it was. It is actually easier and much more fun to cook. We could not be happier with our new kitchen or our choice of Glenbrook Remodeling.We knew we wanted to do a complete remodel of our kitchen but we didnt know which contractor to use. We heard some contractor horror stories so we were leery of the process. We spoke with a few contractors, including one of the large ones you would know from their frequent radio commercials, but we didnt feel comfortable with any of them. In fact, the large contractor didnt even bother getting back to us after our meeting even though they said they would. That turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as it made us continue our search, which led us to Glenbrook.We saw that Glenbrook had a number of good reviews and had won awards so we decided to call them. From our first conversation with Alex, we were glad we did. He was very low pressure and although we were nervous and somewhat overwhelmed, he made us feel at ease. That feeling carried over to our first in person meeting with Alex and our design consultant, Robert. They listened to and addressed our wants, needs and concerns, made very helpful and practical suggestions, and mapped out the entire remodel process and timeline. Most importantly, they were able to show us, in real time, computer renderings of how our kitchen would look with various material, color and layout options. We found this to be extremely valuable as it allowed us to visualize results before we made decisions.Once we finalized all aspects of the remodel, Glenbrook outlined the installation plan and schedule. From the minute they entered our home until they packed up all their gear at the end of the job, they made great efforts to protect our house and cause as little disruption as possible. Alex and Mike from Glenbrook, and all of their contractors, were clean, reliable and very professional. They kept to the daily schedule they set with us and we do not recall a single day when Glenbrook or any of their contractors did not arrive or leave when they said they would.To sum up, we are very happy with our new kitchen and feel we made the best choice with Glenbrook. Glenbrook Remodeling (GR) remodeled our master bathroom in late 2018. We are delighted with the result and would use them again.In our initial discussions and negotiations, the owner Alex, together with his design consultant Robert proposed a plan that met our needs and stayed within our budget. This required us to exclude some structural changes, use semi-custom rather than fully custom vanities, and to buy some of the accessories ourselves (e.g. vanity mirrors, light fixtures, window treatment) but these compromises were acceptable to us. Initially we entered into a design agreement, the cost of which was then credited to the overall project cost. The design plan was created using a comprehensive computerized template which helped us visualize the end result and also served as a basis for obtaining the necessary Glenview permits. During the design phase Alex and Robert spent several hours with us at their showroom going over options for colors, material and design within our price range. With respect to the remodeling contract, Alex and Robert were also willing to be flexible to accommodate our desires.The project was led by project manager Mike, who was always accessible and responsive. We were impressed from the outset by the meticulous preparations including isolation of the work area with a plastic wall to minimize dust. All the tradesmen involved (plumber, electrician, drywall & painting, glass etc.) work primarily with GR and their work was of a high quality. Mike also did all the carpentry and oversaw and at times participated in the work of his team. He kept us informed at all times and involved us in every decision related to implementation including the desired location of plumbing and accessories. Any issues or concerns we raised were quickly addressed.In summary this was a very positive experience, and we would not hesitate to recommend GR to others.

Best service ever!We came in needing cabinetry for our kitchen. Having looked at this for a while we were very overwhelmed by the choices that are out there. At Glenbrook Remodeling we first felt very comfortable with the environment, the process and the selection. Alex and Mike did a gut-rehab of my bathroom and, a year later, an almost-complete rehab of my kitchen in a vintage building. I will be forever grateful to them for alerting me to the fact that the cabinets I had ordered from a big-box store (initials HD) had quite obvious defects that would probably result in their falling off the wall in a couple years. They then worked with a local company to provide sturdy, attractive cabinets at the same price -- and still finished the job close to the expected date. They were responsive to my aesthetic desires and fiscal restraints. I would recommend them highly.

Poor design process, I used pictures from the internet and provided direct links to my ideas and they were not able to capture the simplest details. After 2 weeks of several iterations I decided to use a more professional kitchen design place and was able to complete the design exactly as i wanted within 2 hours of discussions with a real designer. The Management is very rude and has shady business practices.After posting this review Glenbrook contacted me during my business hours. I explained that I stepped out of a meeting to answer a number I did not recognize and could not speak at the time because I was at work. Alex insisted I disregard my job to speak with him so I said goodbye and hung up the call. Alex then followed up with a threatening email - Ive posted his threat below for my own safety and that of my family.To clarify, I did not make this post to harm this business in anyway, I posted to make consumers aware of my experience with Glenbrook. Last week in line at a local store I started a conversation with a woman who was in the middle of a home remodeling project and explained she was having issues with her kitchen design place. I told her I had a similar experience last year and was happy it is over. She then mentioned she was considering Glenbrook remodeling because she did some research online and they had a perfect 5 star review on Google. I told her this was not my experience with that company. She suggested I post my experience as the 5 star is deceiving consumers. After some thought, I realized she is right - during my remodeling process I relied on reviews in choosing the best providers. I only write reviews when Ive had a positive experience but never or rarely do I write reviews of my bad experience....consumers should make an informed decision. As the email below highlights when a consumer is unhappy, they are expected to stay quiet or be threatened with a law suit.I will remove my post if a judge orders me to remove the post.Alex email:We are extremely disappointed that, with a deliberate intention of tainting our reputation, you posted that negative review on Google for Glenbrook Remodeling, more that 12 months after we completed your project. I contacted you today and when you realized it is me on the phone you hang up on me. We do not believe in carrying this conversation in a public forum and we request that you will take any subsequent conversations offline and remove your negative review immediately.Again, it is very upsetting that you are using these means to cause harm to our business. We did nothing “shady”. You came to us for services, we designed the kitchen layout according to your specification, you agreed to a contract that was explained to you. You took your business elsewhere not because of poor design or shady practices but because of lack of funds due to your unforeseen issues (we are quoting you). Your defamatory comments have no foundation and if not removed by end of business day, Friday November 2, 2018 we are prepared to fight this in the court of law.

Had the chance to meet Alex from RV Midwest Construction and talk about my kitchen remodeling project that i have in mind. He was very helpfull even for a free in house estimate that he came from offering his help in suggesting what materials to use and giving me an ideea how to keep my project under budget. Of course i also get another quotes from different remodeling companies in Chicago. I really liked his personal approach on my project and we decided to choos him on performing our kitchen rehab.
