I have purchased several different products from APC. Most recently was amended topsoil for my garden. The soil is awesome! Well mixed and very loose (no clumps of clay or other undesired items). The mixture was matured cow manure and soil, and the plants love it. For my point of view the soil is a prime component of the ecosystem the plants grow in and this stuff has what the plants like :)

Dumptruck arrived with 7 yards of dirt (17,500lbs) before their scheduled time when we were out of the house. They did not call when they were on their way nor after they arrived, since we weren’t around they just dumped it where they wanted, smashed our garden fencing and caused us to have to do hours of extra work moving the dirt because they didn’t ask where we wanted it.

Dropped off my pea gravel delivery on time, where I asked and with a cheap delivery fee.

Ive ordered about 50 tons of rock and road base for a large landscape project in my yard. In all about 8 deliveries. They are helpful on the phone, their prices are good and delivery charge is an outstanding value. Their drivers are good and know what they are doing. If you write a bad review about how the delivery driver did something wrong, its because you didnt take into account the risk. These guys are driving huge machines and can crack driveways, run over fences, etc. if you are asking them to take risks, they will take the risk but the onus is on YOU to make sure you can tolerate the risk. I never have them on my driveway or yard because I know the weight and mass of the truck can cause some unintended damage.

They dumped gravel on top of the soil we ordered. Now its all mixed and impossible to separate. I called and they werent helpful.

Driver knocked down my fence and gate. Reid in the office is incredibly rude. Suggested I figure it out and they are too busy. Would not recommend. It’s not the driver fixing the post I’m concerned about at this point—it’s the way Reid treated me (a customer).

My wife spoke with Kevin this summer about a flagstone project we were working on; after giving Kevin a detailed description of our project she was sold a polymer and sand by this establishment and was shown a display which made us believe this was the right product for the job. We spent the hours and sweat equity to install this grout in our flagstone joints and it was a disaster! The sand which was supposed to be hard like grout looked like a fine layer of rubber cement had been poured over the top. We went back and were told by Kevin we had not put enough polymer on the joints so we should buy more... We were very skeptical but decided we had already expended the time and energy so be bought more. The material never worked and we had to literally vacuum the sand from out grout lines. We called the number on the bottle of polymer and asked why we were having such difficulty and we were told very quickly the sand NEVER should have been used given the size of our grout lines (3-4). We had communicated the grout line size to Kevin at the time of the sale. We went back to Kevin and were told he would need to contact the company who makes the polymer to see what could be done about this. At that point we knew we were dealing with a bush league establishment. When the guy who sells you the wrong material has to check with the manufacturer to see what can be done, you know you are dealing with a company that doesnt know the first thing about customer service.After a long delay for Kevin to monkey around with the manufacturer we were told the manufacturer would supply us with 12 free bottles of polymer and we should try it with a more coarse material (than sand) in our grout lines. Kevin said if this time it didnt work we could get our money back. Rather than doing the entire project again we tried a small corner of our project with the suggested materials. Again the material failed but this time not as badly. Again we went back to APC seeking a refund; and not surprisingly we were given the runaround and told Kevin needed to contact various unspecified individuals to see what could be done for us. Kevin told us he would call us to let us know what his extensive investigation revealed.Shockingly, we never got a call and had to go back in to ask for our money back in exchange for the bottles of material we had left (12). We were not asking for all of our money back mind you...just the money in exchange for this polymer that he said he got for free from the manufacturer. After being told again he needed to talk to the manufacturer and a few more trips in to see Kevin and an hour long conversation with a representative for the manufacturer we were told APC could do nothing for us except give us a few truckloads of rock or other landscape material in exchange for the unused bottles of polymer. Kevin kept saying we as the installers must have been doing something wrong. (I kept thinking the first thing we did wrong was listen to him; after all, he sold us the sand in the first place which the manufacturer said was wrong).Believe it or not, I have omitted many details in this account. Suffice it to say, this is a fantastic place to do business if you like getting bad advice and then being jerked around after the fact. We maybe should have called the manufacturer as our first step because we had never installed flagstone before. We made the mistake of following the advice of this company who sells the material and then is not interested in making up for their errors. This was the worst experience I have had as a consumer in the last 25 years. Be very cautious before spending your money here.

APC Landscape Supply is simply the best in the business. Their level of customer service is unmatched, whatever problem, project or need they always have the right answer and the supplies to help get it done. They are always very friendly, and it seems like no matter how badly a project or day can be going, a quick trip to APC can get it sorted out. If you need landscape supplies, these are the people to go see!

After reading the reviews of all soil/gravel companies, I ended up selecting APC because of 1.quality I independently determined by driving by yard and 2. Cost. APC excelled on both. In response to comments I read by others for this company and its competitors, who the heck cares if the driver and salesman were friendly? Those are idiotic review points. It just so happens, as a bonus to quality and cost that all the fellas I dealt with were swell.

Kevin was very helpful. I was able to order what I wanted over the phone and delivered next day. The driver was really friendly too! Thank you! Highly recommended!

I was fortunate enough to have APC recommended to me when I started my landscaping business. Now if anyone asks this is the first place that comes to mind. If its customers or friends, I send them all to APC! These guys know their materials like the back of their hands, bring your dimensions if you dont know how much material youll need and they will get it figured out for you. Any time we are unsure about materials we run the numbers by them and they have always hit the amount needed perfectly! Solid delivery times and most of the time I dont even need to be on site to have it right where it needs to be, Ed Rocks!!! My crew and I even play a game to see how close Reed can be to the number we ask for...lets just say hes GOOD! Give em a shot, you wont be disappointed.

Ordered 8 yards of mixed topsoil and “premium” aged compost. Mix was easily 70/30 topsoil heavy, and so called “screened” topsoil contained construction debris, broken glass and dinner-plate chunks of compacted clay. When I tried to contact the sales person to complain (several times) never got a reply. Will never be doing business here again and encourage anyone else to do the same

Bad customer service !Im usually good customer of APC landscape supply . On Friday I came to buy 15 steel edging, 5 yards of mulch, 1 roll of fabric 4 x 100 .The truck full up to 8 ft tall of mulch. I ask them help to put 15 steel edging on truck. The guy delivery ( work with Kevin ) do not want to do it and told me I have to do myself during that time he stay inside and talking each others . I told them too high and he told me too lazy .I will not come back this store to buy any more ..Really bad customer service !

I went up to APC Landscape Supply to look at their inventory, which is good. Was helped by someone named Kevin, which was the best part of the experience. If you choose to do business with these folks ask for Kevin.I was not ready to purchase the day I went because I still had some dimensions to take. Had I gone through the rest of the process with this Kevin fellow, I would be writing a positive review. And this is why:I called back a few days later to place an order, I was greeted by someone on the phone who sounded like they had just dragged their knuckles out of the Neolithic Era (good thing theyre working at a rock yard).When I asked a few simple dimensional questions the guy on the phone grunted (and had to think really hard Im sure) and reluctantly answered my questions.When I placed an order for delivery the Encino Man told me that it would be delivered the next day, gave me a two hour window, told me the driver would call while en route and hung up on me.Today I pulled into my driveway(15 minutes before the two hour delivery window) to find 5 tons of rock in the street, in front of my house. The driver had not called me to tell me that they were on the way or that they had arrived.I called APC to ask about the 5 tons of rock in the street and was greeted by the caveman yet again who said that he never said the driver would call me and they usually dump the rock in the street.Really???I think this guy should stick to doing the old Geico commercials...

Horrible customer service, I only gave it one star because I had to in order to post a review. I arrived at the business with a small child, there were two men in the office and no customers. When I asked about the process, the younger man said that they typically sold smaller quantities by the 5 lb. bucket. I said I did not have a bucket with me and he said I could drive my car on the scale before and after to determine cost. I asked if they could help me load my car with the rock and the older man (whom I assume must be the same referenced in prior reviews) jumped into the conversation and stated Youll have to figure it out. I left and called back shortly assuming I somehow missed something given Id never been to a landscape company unwilling to provide help to customers before. The older man answered when I called and I asked if they had buckets and if I had misunderstood. He said they did not and that I could buy some at Home Depot. I then asked if he was the owner, to which he replied, That is irrelevant. I said it was very relevant as this was the worst customer service Id experienced. He then proceeded to say This is the rock business, get used to it.A business relies on customers to keep it running and to pay its employees. Any employee and owner should understand this and treat their customers accordingly. Stay away from APC Landscape Supply unless customer service is not important to you.
