Acute Heating & Cooling is the company you need to contact for your cooling and heating needs. I contact company after hours. I left a message that a return call would happen the following day. Within an hour, my call was return. I wonderful lady listened to me, understood the need (HOT), and I that I had no AIR. A time was set and the Tech was there at the time, at the beginning of the window time. IMPRESSED!. I was again heard, problem assessed and treated. Not a long service call, but it was just what was needed. Customer Service was excellent! knowledge Top Notch! and professionalism from phone to door can not be purchased. I have split zone HVAC system and one of two units was almost 20 years old. It finally bit the dust at the beginning of the Summer. Since it was an older system not only was the coolant obsolete, it would cost more to repair over time than it would be to replace.Acute first sent out a tech, Thomas Edwards, who was not only nice enough to let me down easy with the bad news, he even waved the consolation fee once he realized there was nothing they could do.I scheduled a replacement through Heather and set up financing through a partner company. They are currently offering no interests on payments for one year, as well as no penalty for early payoff. So I put down half and will pay off the remaining balance within the year without having any interest on the payments.The installers, Ricky Cuttino and Omar, were also very professional and had everything swapped out and running within a day. Both gentlemen again explained what they would be doing and took the time to clean up everything from the install.All around, I cant say enough about the prompt service, from Thomas to Heather to Ricky and Omar. Highly recommend! We started with setting up routine maintenance and requested a quote to checkout our duct work (prior company installed incorrectly). I received bids from six different companies and Acute Heat and Air offered the best package. This is a family owned business with customer satisfaction a high priority. The owner Thomas listened to what I wanted and expected and delivered. I replaced my fourteen year old system with a Trane two stage air conditioner and two stage furnace and added an ion air purification system. Thomas and PK along with Austin and Darius helping out installed components in a timely and professional manner. We dont have a choice when going through our home warranty. This was our warrantys second choice when the first expected us to wait for a week to look at our unit. I was relieved though, because this company had much better reviews.The service tech was very professional and courteous. Even though it was already later in the day, he drove from Goose Creek to Mount Pleasant and back with our part and fixed it that evening.Their office staff is friendly as well. I dont know what their prices are, as I stated, we used our home warranty for service. However, from a service standpoint, theyre very good!

Would give more than 5 stars if I could. The 5 star rating given by all the other reviews are completely genuine. I called Thomas to my house after Goose Creek Heating and Air had come over and told me what I already knew was wrong with my system and charged me $70 for that service charge only to bring a salesman to my house and talk to me while im in my attic dripping sweat from the AC being down with a smile on his face like he was about to make a sale. Then quoted me near $3000 and have the nerve to try to add on a brand new system saying it was required to fix the issue. Thomas came over and quickly confirmed what was wrong with my system. Took down some numbers and told me he would get back to me via text message with a quote. The quote came in for $1400 and then offered me a military discount on top of that. Offered 0% financing for the work and was able to do the work the next day. My AC works wonderfully now and I could not be any more appreciative of Thomas and the team at Acute. Acute may be a small business but its website layout is top notch and the customer tracking is on point. Octavia, the operator, was very helpful and extremely pleasant to work and schedule with. I am thoroughly impressed with this company.

After talking to several other companies, hearing conflicting recommendations (you should get new duct work and new components in the crawl space; definitely move it to the attic; a split system is best for your needs; a packaged system is the way to go.), and getting astronomical quotes, we gave up and soldiered on with our ancient and inefficient HVAC system.Many months later, a friend mentioned the experience shed just had with Acute Heating and Cooling and passed their contact info along to me. These guys are awesome - if I could give them 10 stars would. Better pricing than Ive found anywhere else and extremely professional. Their response time is insane compared to their competition. They always answer their phone, can usually send someone out with 24 hours, and have fast turnaround on larger projects such as AC replacements or larger repairs. On 4/27/19 I called an HVAC company to repair my A/C and after their diagnosis, I was told I needed to replace my whole unit, (which was only 2 years old). I kept waiting for them to replace my unit but two weeks passed and it still wasnt repaired. I realized no one was coming therefore I needed to find someone else. I Googled 5 star HVAC companies and found Acute Heating and Air. I called the owner, Thomas, and told him I needed a new unit. He said, let me come by and diagnose your unit first before we go to the extreme of replacing it. Thomas came over immediately and found the reason my unit wasnt working was due to a loose wire. His honesty and expertise saved me thousands of dollars. I would highly recommend Thomas and will continue to use him in the future.

Salute to Acute!! From the first call being informed by Octavia on the process to Thomas educating me on the service I could not be happier!! Communication and Education is what you get when you call Acute!

I contacted Thomas because his consultation rate was competitive and he was available immediately. He agreed to diagnose my problem for $69. When he arrived late at night on short notice, we felt like Thomas was a life saver. He was charming and somehow talked me into believing that we should pay $245 more to get a more full diagnosis. For $69 he said that all he could do was tell me that there was a leak in the system but for $245 he told me that he would tell me where the leak is. I am embarrassed now that I fell for this but I did it. He also told me that I could put refrigerant in and cool down for a bit and I did that. He was charging over $65 per pound for refrigerant and made me believe that I was getting a discount when he did it for $55 per pound. I googled the exact refrigerant and you can but it online for $7.20 per pound. When the refrigerant leaked out a week later, I called Thomas back to get him the $245 leak search (he “discounted” it to $195). He made it seem like it was difficult to do but only took 20 minutes. This is when I got suspicious of Thomas. He also quoted me $1310 to replace the leak in the coil and the coil was under warranty... so this quote was all labor and 7 pounds of refrigerant ($50). So when you do the math it was a 3-4 hour job so Thomas’ hourly rate was $200-$300 per hour. At this point my intuition told me that this was not a competitive quote and when I looked in online forums, everyone told me that the quote was outrageous. So I called around to get a second opinion and I got Pardee to come and they gave a second opinion for free and even came on short notice. They gave a full diagnosis the first time and fixed my issue for $955. The guy from Pardee said that the issue was obviously the coil and he didn’t understand why Acute had such an expensive diagnosis to a very obvious issue. I don’t know if Pardee is the best thing out there but with my babies crying all day because of the heat, I wasn’t exactly in a position to fully shop around. If you’re willing to shop around, I was very surprised how many HVAC companies have a free second opinion. All I know is that while everyone I dealt with at Acute was friendly and came on short notice, their prices are outrageous. They did end up refunding me the $195 for the leak search when I confronted them on their sleazy business model of taking advantage of people who are desperate to fix their AC.... But I wish Thomas could have stayed an extra 20 minutes to do the leak search the first time because if I had known how bad the leak was, I wouldn’t have wasted money on the overpriced refrigerant. Also if I knew on the first visit that the labor rate was $200-$300 per hour I would have ran for the hills. Thomas said they charge by the job, not the hour but it’s not hard to figure out the math. So my recommendation is to avoid using this company if you’re paying out of pocket. If you do use them, I recommend getting a second opinion (but don’t show them the quote from Acute until after they give you a quote because their quote will likely be way under). If you have a home warranty paying for it, I can say that everyone that works there is very friendly and they are available at a moment’s notice so in that case they may be a good choice.

By far one of the best experiences I’ve ever had with a HVAC company. Prompt, professional and very knowledgeable. My technician Les, was in and out in no time! I appreciate the experience even more for the fact that pre appointment, during the appointment and for future appointments, options were laid out so I knew exactly what to expect in regards to my HVAC system running in tip top shape. Pricing was super competitive compared to the quotes that I received from others. I believe I got an incredible deal. To sum up my visit I even received a follow up call from the owner Thomas, and that was a very nice touch to not only great but also transparent service visit. There are ALOT of HVAC companies out there and Acute HVACR will be my number one choice. They have a lifetime customer.

First, I had a 32 year old Trane heat pump. and I asked for recommendations on Facebook. I looked up each company and only found 2 companies that were locally owned who sell Trane, with Acute Heating and Cooling being recommended by a realtor friend of mine.I called, and Octavia was very courteous and professional! Thomas came out at the end of his day when I came home from work! He diagnosed and explained thoroughly what was wrong and what specs were needed for us to get cool!Within 24 hours, an estimate with each of the Trane choices we desired were then emailed to us. Within a couple of days, his crew came in and installed an entire new inside system, outside system, thermostat and new lines under the house in approximately 6 hours! I was amazed at how well the team worked and how clean they left in each of the places where they worked.I am so impressed overall, I recommend them to anyone and everyone who asks for help with their HVAC! Two previous hvac specialist was unsuccessful in resolving my issue. Mr. Thomas and his assistant not only resolved the issue, but did so while being very personable, exceptionally professional, and highly knowledgeable . I highly recommend ACUTE HVACR LLC for all HVAC conditions.
