I am giving this lovely place a 5 star, because I cant give 10. Such a wonderful place and great workers and owners. I love their delicious, fresh donuts. You can smell the freshness of donuts as soon as you enter the shop. The people are all friendly and welcoming.Thank you guys.
Of all the Donut Joints in the Low Country, why did I walk into the Donut Connection today? I was in search of an apple cider donut. What we came out with was a big box of delishisness. Lemon filled, cereal topped, cronuts, pumpkin spice, chocolate, blueberry cheesecake appkr filked. So gor lunch my husband and I had a donut platter. Each one was fresh and yummy. The owner a fellow Long Island Girl was so nice and sweet herself. We will be back!!!
This place is a little treat whenever I pass through.Credit card data entry for mobile orders did not work until I had logged into Google. Really important for new customers: There is no same-day pickup. The soonest mobile orders can be ready is the next day.
I don’t live in the area and drive out when I want to treat myself to a donut and breakfast. My past few visits were a let down. I wanted to order a breakfast sandwich but was told no because the owner was out. If you’re dependent on a single person to make food items, maybe it’s best to remove the food items or post on social media that food items are not available today.
A friend ordered donuts from here for our whole class, they were incredible however for one reason or another they couldnt include the coffee in our order. It was no big deal but they went above and beyond to make the situation right (without us asking and being very happy as it was). Will be coming back with family and friends!
Not only are the donuts/pastries good, but their family meals to-go are terrific! Big pan of baked ziti with meatballs, simple tossed salad, yummy sausage and cheese stuffed French bread and tiramisu (I didn’t take a pic of it but just YUM) for a great deal of $39.99 total with tax and connivence fee.Well worth it and a great local business.
They are really good donuts, I only wish the selection was labeled so we didnt have to ask the person at the counter what every single donut was.
Good doughnuts. Good sandwiches and bagels Good service.
Fresh Real New York bagels...Yummy,.Friendly atmosphere and a wonderful selection of DONUTS!! VERY NICE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! We will be back..
Beautifully decorated and laid out. Delicious to eat!
Fabulous donuts here! They even offer keto options every now and then. Great flavors and very friendly service.
They seem to always close down early and also never have the kind of donuts that you want due to lack of variety, or they are somehow already sold out mere minutes after they open.Ive tried going there 6 times now during normal operating hours over the past few months, 5/6 times theyve been closed hours before normal closing hours, and the 1 time they were actually open, they had little variety remaining though it was still quite early in the day.As one of the very few donut places in the area, they could make a killing if they hired an extra person or two, made more donuts and stayed open a little longer.
Best donuts in the area. They import NYC bagels each week that are amazing! Staff is friendly and very helpful.
Update: Response from the owner is all you need to know about the value this business places on its cliental. Buyer beware...Arrived at 6 am to pick up my order and part was incorrect. The difference between the remade doughnuts and the originals was very significant. The original ones tasted like they were day old(cold/very hard), not hours old. The doughnut holes tasted the same way...very cold and hard. I’ve arrived at 1:00 and bought doughnuts that tasted fresher than these. I know they had a lot of orders going out, so I don’t know if they started last night, but the taste was extremely noticeable. I use to love this place, but one poor experience like this is enough to keep me from going back. Thank goodness I wasn’t buying them to give to a friend or neighbor.
Literally the best breakfast sandwich i have ever eaten! The croissant was super buttery and flaky, and falling apart. As well as they used 2 eggs instead of one. It was absolutely amazing! Highly recommend! Also, the apple pie donut was amazing as well. Freshly made filled with plenty of filling.
Have given this place numerous chances because I like their donuts. Went one time and had a paper bag taped on the door saying closed for a catering event.Drove two separate times only to get there to find them closed for no reason. I looked up their hours of operation on google, checked Facebook, and tried to call. Nothing said they weren’t open. Get there closed for no reason on a day when they are supposed to be open.If you can’t be open on a day google, your Facebook, and the hours posted on your door all say you are then you need to figure something out. Have a message on your phone or something so people don’t drive 25 min for nothing.Wish I could be a customer but this place is a joke.
Updated Review:Hubby recently discovered cronuts and decided they are his new favorite pastry so I Googled up where to have some delivered for his birthday. I was up and had the Doordash order in an hour and a half before they opened. Thats the way to do it, because when the order was dropped off the food and coffee was hot, fresh, and delicious. My cortado was a bit sweet because I didnt know they automatically sweeten it, but it was tasty and got my morning started right. The classic New York bagel was perfect: nice lox, big slabs of cream cheese, capers, and what I think was pickled red onion because something had a wonderful sweet flavor that made it extra special. It was huge and filling! The sausage, egg, and cheese muffin sandwich was also enormous and delicious. The cinnamon roll was fresh and soft and as big as my head! I think it has golden raisins, some little tangy-sweet bits of fruit. It was so good I kept tearing pieces off throughout the day and eventually conquered it. The fabled cronuts, the reason we were there (or, rather, they were here), were all he had hoped: light, buttery, crisp, fluffy, and sweet, a perfect birthday breakfast with some fresh home-brewed Puerto Rican coffee.----------------------------------------Since Uber Eats started delivering from here we have ordered twice, and had middling experiences both times. The breakfast sandwiches are always burnt, hubby says its because they are toasting the bagels and buns on a flat-top. This results in blackened, burned edges that taste bitter. The bacon was cooked to a shattering crisp last time, so this time I went with sausage and it was better. But this isnt Sandwich Connection, its Donut Connection, and that is where I expect them to shine. They open at 5am, and we ordered around 10 last Saturday. By that time, the donuts were already starting to get stale, especially the raised ones. Gotta get up pretty early in the morning to get a soft, fresh donut here, apparently. The bacon on the maple-bacon donut was so overdone as to be hardly recognizable as such, but the Boston Cream was well-balanced, with a rich custard center. For early risers, I am sure the experience is superior. As it is, someone brought me Saturday morning donuts, and who can complain about that?
Best donuts around, employees are always friendly and helpful. Shoutout to the girl in all the Hunter X Hunter swag, I respect the dedication
Walked in at 8:30 because the door was opened. They informed me that they were filling on line orders only and didnt open till 9:00. So I asked since I was here, and the doors were open, could I get a dozen. They responded we open at 9:00 previous owner was opened much earlier, but I guess hospitality and customer service left with him. Good news, Krispy kream and Dunking donuts open at 6:00.
Being new to the area, looking for a new spot to try new things, these guys have not updated their location on Google and if they have, others that referred it and I couldnt find it. I was then told to look for Alexs and they were right by them. I spent over 2 hours looking, showing up to areas and neighborhoods that were 20 to 30 mins away. By the time I finally found it at 2:30 ish they had already closed! I am coming for your donuts and when I try them my opinion will likely change! Its a bad first impression however!UPDATE: After going several times and not being able make it happen, I called one day to fully understand the struggle and what was going on, and I have to say I am very impressed. I was finally able to try these heavenly treats and the owner totally came through for us. Understanding that COVID has hurt his family to the point of losing almost his entire staff, he is trying to rebuild, but has been doing it himself and making these amazing treats is his life and soul. He clearly puts a lot of love and time in this and the reason he closes early is because his treats are just that good and he sells out quick. Keep it up my new friend, we will be seeing you soon!!! Literally some of the best donuts I have had in my life and I have traveled the world.
Cute little doughnut shop with a fun, yummy selection! The Samoa was the biggest hit for us! We also tried the blueberry and chocolate cake doughnuts, as well as a Boston cream (basically custard long john) and strawberry sprinkle doughnuts, and all were great! They also had a seasonal pumpkin cheesecake for all you pumpkin lovers! Strong, tasty cold brew too!
Be careful going early in the morning. I have been noticing that the donuts we are served when I go early in the morning are not super fresh. This past weekend though was the worst. When I placed the donuts on the plate you could hear the tap. The donuts were hard. I bit into one and couldnt eat it. So we threw them all away. Clearly these donuts had been sitting around from the day (or 2 days) before.I called the store, and the owners initial response was that the counter person should have recognized that. Then the baker should have realized they were overcooked. When I said they were not overcooked they were old and stale, she used the Covid pandemic as an excuse - that since they could not get staff, the one baker could not handle the business, so they serve the old donuts. in the morning. Then - just to make matters worse, she made a big production about finding my receipt and that she was going to refund the order. She never did.My thought is that if the baker can not keep up, then serve less variety and serve delicious fresh donuts. I can not support a business that knowingly serves inferior product because they cant get their act together. That shows they just dont care about the customers.
I’ve gone here twice now, and both times the food is great, but the service is not. Today we went and there was only one worker around 10am. She was clearly slammed cooking food, making drinks, and being the cashier. She seemed annoyed that we ordered sandwiches and coffee. She made our coffee wrong, but I was too embarrassed to tell her since there was a line of 8 people behind me. They actually use fresh eggs here which is great, and the donuts are fresh. I just wish the service was as great as the food. At 10am on a Saturday with the line out the door, there should probably be another worker.
Great donuts. I ordered some keto donuts and the person on the phone was super nice and separated them for me. Unfortunately I didn’t like them but I have problems with artificial sweeteners or even stevia. Otherwise the flavor would’ve been ok. The regular donuts were good especially the cronut! I will go back to try the sandwiches.
Fresh and delicious! We stopped in late this morning and they still had a good selection. The smell when you walk in the door is amazing. If youre anywhere this place and you love great donuts, do yourself a favor and check this place out. Youll be glad you did.
Local little place filled with tasty donuts, delicious breakfast sandwiches and great coffee! A friend who lives in Goose Creek told me about this place, and Im so glad we went! I had the Apple cake donut and loved it! My mom had the apple fritter shown in the photo, and i was massive! We couldve split it!
A hidden gem in Goose Creek! The donuts are top notch and the breakfast sandwiches are awesome. I had a Taylor Ham this morning and it was great!
I love their donuts. They are so good. If I had to suggest a donut there to a friend I would choose the donut with chocolate and carmel plus coconut on top. It is so good. (My opinion)
Really cool place. The taller associate with lighter hair served us, she was so creative and understanding about gluten free allergy. Definitely recommend this shop. A good worker with a good attitude.
Best donuts ever!
Customer service was good. Donuts were okay. Coffee was good till I got to the bottom and unexpectedly got a mouthful of grounds. That was a really unpleasant surprise.
A sweet local donut shop. The interior is nicely decorated with little nik naks. The donuts are amazing as is the coffee. Affordable and delicious.
Wife got me some for my birthday, these donuts were the driest things I have had in years. this place is all hype!
Their donuts were super yummy, but also really pretty as well. If that makes sense. They had an apple fritter there the size of a small pizza! One day, I will buy one. They were also incredibly polite as well. Will definitely be back.
Greatest Doughnuts in the state!! I love the maple bacon. Very friendly and great coffee to..
Where do I start... The great customer service 🤔The exceptional variety of donuts 🤔Or the amazing breakfast sandwiches 🤔This place is a definite must have ‼️Dont believe me, go try it for yourself ❣️
Drive a half hour to get here early in the morning and they have a sign on the door saying closed for catering event. Called to order and was told they cant sell us anything till the next day...
I was really impressed with how funny and chipper the employees were for 6AM. Incredibly helpful and dude - the croughnut thing was amazing. Ill totally swing by here again next time Im in the area.
As far as I know they are the only people who have this amazing thing called a Cream Cheese Angel...NOTHING even comes close to being this awesome...when the new owners first took it over, I think someone made the mistake of glazing it instead of dusting it with powdered sugar...turned the angel into a devil that I could not resist! I would like to see that on the menu for good...and their donuts are huge! Generosity will always bring my business back!
The keto donut which is all I can eat was good for a keto diet! The kiddos and hubby thoroughly enjoyed all of the donuts they ordered and those samoa donuts looked incredible. We took away a dozen fresh bagels flown in from NYC which we plan on devouring later. Great place! Packed so get their early especially for the specialty donuts
Delicious doughnuts. Great service.
Best donuts in the lowcountry.
Hated it! Open 6am . . NOT!!!
Best donuts in town. Fresh and delish. No other donut comes close. We stopped buying the D or K donuts after we discovered this place.
Love the folks here, always personal and professional. The doughnuts they serve are always fresh made, and not from shipped in frozen batter. Theres typically a wide variety, unless youre late to the game. Definitely a place to try if you havent.
Best donuts in town.
We love this little donut shop! The donuts are delicious! The staff are patient with all 3 of my energetic girls and their orders. If you havent tried a cronut you are missing out. Wonderful, positive, fun, home-y donut shop.
This was one of the highlights of living in this city. I loved this donuts shop definitely a must go to! The Donuts they sell are so unique.
Excellent doughnuts. I had the Samoa and it was awesome. Service was great. Super friendly. Coffee was acceptable... Not the greatest but it was caffeine. Small seating area. Plenty of parking and easy to find. Definitely be back next time in the North Charleston area!
I went for the 1st time last Saturday. The staff was very friendly and the donuts were delicious. The lemon poppy seed donuts were my favorite!! My BF loved the red velvet.
I bought 3 boxes for my daughters school birthday party and they were better than cupcakes! We had them decorated like unicorns, and they were filled and frosted. All the kids loved them, and the parents all needed to know where I got them from. Definitely made me the cool mom. Plus they were delicious.
I love this place! Very family oriented and friendly environment. Their donuts are creative and delicious and so many types! I always love walking in early and seeing such a colorful variety of donuts, cronuts, cinnamon rolls and fritters! The owners are absolutely welcoming and wanting to make you happy with smiles and treats! I highly recommend Donut Connection in goose creek!
Very friendly and the jalapeño bagel was amazing!
Unprofessional at times and can be real defensive when criticized. They use to have decent workers, now it just seems like youre bothering them when coming in to order food.
Update: I stopped in recently, and they offer a lot of new items, including fresh bagels (shipped in from NY I believe?). They also now have online ordering available so that you can request what you want in advance and have it made to order. No more worrying about them selling out of your fave or not offering with the daily selection. This is a huge plus. And they offer punch cards for free donuts now! Very pleased. Obviously a family run place focused on growing and making customers happy. One of my absolute favorite places to go for breakfast in Charleston. Donuts taste so much better than what you get at most places and lots of creative options. They are light and fluffy and sweet without being too sweet. Only major downside is that they dont sell the same donuts everyday and they may sell out if you dont get there early enough, so you may go in and not find your favorite. A little disappointed that they never seem to have the Salted Caramel when I go. Its definitely my favorite and perfect for anyone who likes a salty-sweet combo. Coffee is amazing too. Prices are very reasonable. Would be a great stop to get donuts for an office or party. Im not as big a fan of the fritters that so many people rave about in the reviews, but the regular yeast donuts are amazing
Great donuts and breakfast.
Delicious donuts!
Just my honest review/opinion on a first time visit here...we are way less than impressed. The case was empty other than specialty donuts when we arrived. (They had donuts in the back). They frosted them while we were there so the donuts were wet and stuck to the lid. Usually when I bring a dozen donuts home to my kids they are gone in 30 mins or less. From this place they each ate one and dont want a second. The flavor is very very greasy and not yeasty like would be expected. Way overpriced for the quality received. We also got a dozen donut holes and some of them were burnt.
Doughnuts like they ought to be made! Old favorites and new creations - so many to choose from but theyre all delicious!
The best thing about this place is the customer service. They were patient, kind and full of smiles. The young guy running the register is charming. I liked the music selection; a little of Ole Blue Eyes Sinatra and James Brown. It felt like we were enjoying donuts in a 1950s shop. Why go to a chain when you can come here to a family run business?! The coffee is good, pretty good donuts and excellent customer service. Its a Yes.
The donuts are delicious and there is a variety of flavors.
Always a wonderful experience. Amazing staff and delicious donuts!
If I still lived in Goose Creek, Id be a regular there. The donuts are so good. Right before Hurricane Dorian, someone brought a box to work for the folks prepping for the storm. There were two left, by the time I got to the box. I grabbed one expecting a generic jelly filled, but to my surprise it was mango filled. I told myself, Self, you gotta find this place, and get more. Skip several days later, and I got: 2 Mango filled, Maple glazed, Bacon Maple glazed, 2 Croughnuts, 2 Strawberry glazed, 2 Blueberry, Cream cheese filled, and a Lemon filled. Its definitely worth the drive.
Best donut shop in Charleston area and peanut free.
Amazing donuts! Always something new to try. The coffees are outstanding here as well.
I came in to get some cute donuts for Valentine’s Day for my daughters preschool, but was disappointed by the lack of selection. I was hoping they would go all out for this colorful holiday. They did seemed rushed because of the long line, but the few festive donuts that were available didn’t seem they took their time in presentation. I love donut connection since the previous owners so please take your time and keep making delicious donuts!
Love Donut Connection!! The staff is always so nice, even when the line is out the door. There is always a good variety, even when they are almost sold out. I like using the website to special order what donuts I want to have.
Great flavors! Great service! Great price!
Want a currated box of deliciousness baked fresh and sourced locally? Want phenomenal customer service (Thanks Red!) ?? Say no more and go straight to Donut Connection
Great place! Owners are very hands on. Large variety of donuts that most people love
I would love to support local businesses. But Im just going to Krispy Kreme from now on. Last time I went I asked for an Americano (hot water and espresso)...the guy made me a latte. This time I ordered a hot latte for my wife and they gave me an ice cold (no ice) in a regular coffee cup. I have eaten donuts here for 2 years and the quality has always been the same as Dunkin Donuts and their frozen donuts. I want to like this place and the owners seem passionate about what they do. But you should have a good product if you are going to be a small business competing against giants.
I enjoy this hidden local delicacy when I can get it. They have limited hours (they close at 2PM, or whenever they run out of donuts--whichever comes first), which makes sense. The menu is always changing, so its best to keep up with them on social media to know if theyll have flavors that appeal to you before making the trek to the store that day.The only problem they have is being a victim of hype. You can only tell someone the donuts are the best ever for so long before they cave in and go, only to be disappointed because they expected a life-changing event instead of just a really good donut. The staff is always friendly. The donuts are pretty massive, and the price is on point. If they happen to have the Banana Pudding donut, thats about the closest to a life-changing event.
Love that a family run business, some donuts run out fast so getting there early is the most appealing. Donuts are thick yet pillowy, you can taste the sweetness of the glazes mingling with the fresh yeast flavor. The original glazed is the best. They also have other baked items such as cinnamon rolls
Employees are very friendly and the donuts are very good! Light and fluffy! The apple fritters are good too. Good prices for everything!
Amazing Donuts! Fantastic service. Serious blessing to the community
Small little shop out of the way but the selection of donuts are amazing. The staff is super friendly
Listen....as long as they have the Raspberry Angel Ill be fine. Best donut ever! They are super friendly and their donuts are extremely yummy. Its nice to have a donut place nearby!
I have to give this place 2 stars. The food and coffee is amazing, yes, but their service is horrible. First, they are only open until 2 P.M., second, during COVID-19 I tried to order twice on Door Dash. Once, same day delivery, the second the day before. Both times my oders were cancelled with no explanation. Im sure if I got one it would say we didnt have what I wanted. I ordered a dozen doughnuts and coffee. Thats it!! There is no reason a doughnut place cant satisfy that order. They are forcing people to come in to their store. During COVID that is just a bad idea. If they dont have what were ordering, then that is a huge problem and one of the MANY reasons this place is struggling. Donut connection is a disappointment. They need to be open longer, more product and better service.
If you’re tired of big donut chains like Dunkin Donuts, I highly recommend coming here. You will find creative and delicious donuts with a less commercial feel. The best are the fruity pebble donuts... brings out the inner kid in anyone 😉
I found this place because my local car products store uses their services for their monthly car meets.Anyway, I followed them on instagram to see what their products look like. The donuts here are really creative, tasty and affordable. The wait time is minimal and the staff is very nice to us.They also have a punch card to get checked off after every purchase, which will yield free donuts after your 12th purchase.I plan on coming here monthly
The donuts are great but they carry Keto donuts which they never have ready. They refuse to put a sign up when they are out of them so you have to wait in a long line just for them to tell you that they are out of them yet again. If youre going to advertise that you carry an item, you need to have them ready. An no...Im not going to order ahead because I dont know when I will be in the area.
