Duncan Ace Hardware on Red Bank Road in Goose Creek is a great place to shop for all things hardware and tools for any project that you have. They have really good prices and selection here that is very convenient when you are in the area. The staff here is very knowledgeable and willing to help.

This is my favorite hardware store after it was recommended to me about 20 years ago. It is always busy, but the service is good. Yesterday a cashier and a helpful staffer named Sean helped me at the pinestraw trailer. A+

2 years ago I have it give stars. Today it gets 2. I use to love supporting this business. Full of warm welcomes and gratitude. Today, there just happen to be absolutely no parking. So as any other patron who wants to support this business I made my way around to find an opening on the side. No Signs were visible from what I saw and I was parking beside other cars... It didnt say employee parking or anything so I started to park. And an awesome employee made a abrupt gesture that there is no parking here. There are cones for a reason and a small sign beside the corner of the building that says it. Well thank you for being sympathetic for my mistake of wanting to enjoy my support for your business. If youre not going to support the growing demands of Charlestons growing population Ill just go somewhere that does. Even though you had plenty of room for parking on the side. Whats the term if youre not growing... sucks, I really liked this place.

Duncans is a large Ace Hardware store that is also a U Haul rental agent. I rented a one way truck from them, pleasant experience, in and out in no time.

Staff are nice and knowledgeable. Much more helpful than the big stores. The employees know what theyre talking about not just regurgitating what they were told by management

Question to this business/ownership? Your front door clearly states that you must wear a mask to enter your business correct? I’m personally okay with this, but my question is; why doesn’t your mask policy isn’t required of your store employees who clearly did not have any wearing of a face mask? Both employees that I had contact with did not wear a mask. I asked one employee a simple question as to why he wasn’t wearing a mask? He told me to mind my own business and that the owner didn’t require this of the employees. I’m not going to mention his name, but I can definitely point him out if need be. After this encounter with this rude employee (middle aged man sitting in the middle of the store...hint), I left without saying anything further to him. I found the product I was looking fir and then went to the front of the store to check out and to use my ACE Hardware phone App, that young man at the front entrance register didn’t have a mask on either. I didn’t say anything but the customers who were in the store at the time, did have masks on that clearly stated in your front entrance doors. I visited this store several weeks ago, and the more I thought about this, I felt compelled to make a post on Google after this kept popping up on my Google reviews. No need for me to post the front entrance picture since you the store owner of this particular ACE Hardware location in Goose Creek knows this. Thanks for letting me personally know how you’ve taken your stance on enforcing your own business mask policy. So just take your front entrance mask policy signs since you don’t enforce what the sign clearly states. My business goes elsewhere now.

I like this store. Everything yiu need for your home or garden. No frills. There is a fair selection of plants. It has a great paint department. I bought new house numbers. I was surprised to see the great selection. Parking can be tight. Also, Red Bank Rd. can be hard to cross here at times.

I just moved and needed things for my new place. I searched for my items alone first just couldnt find everything.. so when I asked for help because I seen no one on the floor.. the young lady said shell call for help for me. Well she cleared her line first. When she had a device connected to her ear that she couldve used..So I stood there for quite a few minutes. Another gentleman came to assist the line and as he was getting ready to go she asked if he could help at the moment and he said he couldnt because of his list of things he was about to do.. so then she asked what was I looking for, then she sent me to two aisles. Two aisles I been on already and didnt see them but I went again. Still no avail..came back again & had to wait again. My problem isnt the waiting its the lack of urgency to assist. The lack of empathy of me just standing there. No apology for not even having the items you sent me to look for.Maam if you give me a second Id be right with you to help you. Thanks for your patience, what can I help you with? Something! But nope. With decent assistance I wouldnt have wasted 20 minutes for nothing.

I love this store. Theyre always so helpful, but NO ONE WEARS A MASK IN THERE. (customers are not required to) I guess its not required, but now that the virus has mutating strains and is more contagious we arent going back until we can get a vaccine and things calm down. Were in our early 60s and therefore reasonably cautious. Its a small store overall and just too risky right now.Update: They now require masks and have safety dividers at checkout. No one but us was honoring it. Oh, well.

Good for picking up something quick without going all the way down rivers to a bigger store. They dont have *everything*, but they do have a wide selection of many things you would expect from a hardware store. Staff are generally helpful. Store is clean and hours are good to accommodate most home projects while you are working on them.

Ive spent a lot of time and money in this store, and each time Ive gone the young girl with glasses working the register has no idea whats happening, but the rest of the staff are cool. The ACE rewards card is completely useless though. Ive spent hundreds upon hundreds of dollars and Im only up to $20 in points? Come on.

For that DIY this has about everything you might need your common everyday lumber stores dont carry theyve got it if youve got a hard to find item check with Duncan Ace hardware located off Red Bank road in Goose Creek theyve got it and theyll point you right to it. The sales staff there is pretty knowledgeable of the items they sell. Once again this is Raymond Howell Goose Creek South Carolina!

I went into the store. Only 1-2 other customers were in there. I was not greeted by cashiers who were talking with each other and not waiting on anybody. I asked the cashier closer to me where a specific item was. I knew I had seen it in the store a couple of weeks ago. I didnt know then I would need it now. The cashier didnt know where to find the item. The second cashier told me it was on one of two aisles. It was in neither aisle. She didnt come help me or send anybody to help look like they do at other small hardware stores.I found the item on my own. There was a shelf tag but no I price, so I took a picture of the tag with my phone.I went to pay for the item with the second cashier. I told her where I found the item. In that span of 5 minutes, she had already forgotten about me and the one item I was looking for. I showed her the bar code. She was at a loss of how to ring up the item. A third person stepped in to help her. I was not thanked for being a customer when I left. That was the pretty much the sum total of my experience.

The worst experience in a store in my 76 years. Customers lined up 10-12 deep and only 1 employee (John) in the store and after waiting 5 minutes to talk to him, he proceeded to tell me he had se real keys to cut, and several other things, plus, he had a UHAUL customer waiting.There was a poor excuse for a cashier that had NO IDEA what he was doing. EXTREMELY RUDE to the customers. He told me (before he even knew what I wanted) I should go to LOWES. His name is Michael. I said I was going to report this and he said go ahead. Ive already put in my 2 weeks notice.Ive been a very frequent customer for 9 years and was always pleased but the service, as well as employees attitude, has REALLY sunk to a a new low. Id drive ten miles further to keep from going in there again!!!

I do not recommend this place. Call to get a price on Green egg charcoal. When I went there to pick it up it was $9.99 more than what I was told. The gentleman remembers the phone call and said he was told by a team leader the price. They wouldnt honor what they said.

The owner of this store was very rude to me today. I went in for two drill bits, and on my way to the counter, I stopped him to ask a quick yes/no question. He informed me that he was busy and I asked him my quick question about “galvanized aluminum drill bits” the owners response was “I don’t know what galvanized aluminum is” and I replied with “oh, well you probably shouldn’t work here then”, and walked away. The owner pursued me, “excuse me! I’ve owned this store for 30 years, I think I’m doing pretty well” to which I replied, well “you don’t know what galvanized aluminum is, so you’re not any good to me right now.” The owner pursued me further, following me to the other side of the register as I continued to walk away from him. The owner got within a few feet of my face and told me “I was very rude and that I needed to change my ways” I said, “I don’t work in an industry that assumes I would know anything about galvanized aluminum, maybe you should learn your job. Have a nice day, sir.” And I turned my back to him. “I don’t sell roofing materials” he said. So he DOES know what galvanized aluminum is, he was just being a jerk to begin with. PLUS, roofing panels are NOT the only materials made from galvanized aluminum. I’ll never return so long has he is the owner.

Great help from employees. He got all the tools and sizes that I needed AND carried a huge bag of salt for me.

Duncan Ace clearly doesnt want to earn your business long term. They are happy to sell you whatever you want, but when it comes to returning something you over purchased or didnt fit they hem and haw over the process. They even post signs about NO RETURNS during hurricane season. I checked with ACE hardware corporate offices. They cannot do that. They must stand by the 30 day return policy!There are a lot of choices for hardware in this area. Choose carefully.

I usually get my tomato plants from Lowes but in March the Wuhan had everyone going to Lowes And I didn’t want to deal with all that crowd. So I decided to check Duncan’s got my plants and immediately noticed how strong they are. Right now after giving them to neighborhood and friends and family I still have a counter loaded with tomatoes must be about 50 sitting there. And the plants are still producing! Now I wish I had gotten the corn too. I will be back next spring.

Great Store, wonderful prices, awesome employees. We always find everything we need at the lowest prices. They stock products that are difficult to find in other stores. Todays issue, clogged shower drain. We asked for suggestions and received them. The Amazing Liquid Fire drain unplugging product is truly amazing and fast acting. The shower drain was unclogged within 15 minutes from pouring the product!

Ordered on line dehumidifier f ok r 46$ shipped to store in may . I wasnt able to pick up because on pandemic and my own health . No unit th ere. It was shipped back without telling me. I paid for it .no credit on my card or did he call to say he was sending it back!!!. Furious. He could have called me and told me that he was going to send it back but he did not do that so I do not have the unit that I wanted and paid $46 for and then he told me at one point he give me $20 for it. I said no I want it I will come and get it but I cannot do it right now so it was therefore I dont know maybe amongst but I paid for it it should belong to me not Fred and then to make a decision to send it back to wherever it came from out of Ace Hardware there is no number for me to call a toll-free number to find out if they have it and there is no credit on my debit card showing that I have been given a credit of $46. So he wasnt here today so hell be back in there at 4 on Friday and I hope he has a better accounting than the people there who said though they dont know where it is shameful

Long lines disrespectful management

Fantastic experience at this modernized throwback to the family owned hardware stores of past. I called because I needed an odd thing-a-ma-jig tiny plumbing cap and the fella on the phone said yep come right over I spun by and he was waiting for me and then proceded to set me up with another solution to a different problem. Great people, great service, great selection.

I come here often as its pretty close by to where I live. This is a true local mom-and-pop type hardware store. I wish they had more of these around as Lowes and the Home Depot have pretty much wiped these guys off the map. These guys have everything here. They also do Keys as well. I came here to grab some items for my project and I had everything I needed. The store is clean, and the associates are really friendly. They were really eager to help out if you needed help. Its not like Lowes and Home Depot or you have to try and find all the hiding employees to help you out. Trust me I eat I used to work at Lowes and the Home Depot.

All get good help, along with fair prices. They have most everything you need from hardware store, but the experience and expertise of the staff far exceeds the competition.

Less selection than the big box store. Slightly higher prices than the big box store. But I’ve been going here since I was 14. The manager offered me a job when I was 16. They know their regulars by name and they treat them right and that’s worth the higher prices and the slightly inferior selection every single time. That’s something the big box stores will never ever be able to duplicate. I no longer live in the area, but if I did, this would be the store I’d frequent if I wanted a quality product. Come here if you want to feel like a VALUED CUSTOMER!!

Always clean, fully stocked and can find anything you need. Todays purchase was for a sheppards hook to mount on our deck for a new windchime. Our helper was attentive to our needs and directed us straight to it instead of trying to upsell something we didnt need. The second item was a hose or drain line to run our dehumidifier to expel the water outside of our home as opposed to having to dump the tray several times a day. We love the one on one attention that we get with folks who actually have knowledge of home improvements and|or repairs. We love this store.

These wonderfully kind folks have helped my fiancé Ricky and I so much with the move out of a situation that he really needed to get out of. And this was even in a time of crisis for the greater Charleston area. So thank you to John, Reed, and Henry, and of course the lovely lady that I just met at the register whose name I failed to get. But we will be back tomorrow to return a UHaul barring hell or high Dorian. 😁And we will most assuredly be back to support this local gem!

There is a lot of stuff crammed in this little building. It is very cramped in here, but it is well stocked and organized. The employees are normally very nice and helpful. They need some more parking spaces and a bigger building.

Duncans Ace Hardware,I call it ( I KNOW THEY GOT IT ) store !!!! I need a 5/8 axle cap which holds the wheel on. Home Depot and Lowes dont even carry that size the largest they carry is half inch....
