If you want to play an instrument before you buy it- DON’T COME HERE!!!!— If I could leave zero stars or -5000 I totally would! I just left the store (shaking because I was so offended and upset- (I’m a Veteran with Severe PTSD) after one of the salesman came over to me whilst I was softly playing and singing, and I made sure that I was singing and playing so softly out of respect for the other customers, and the salesman told me that I need to “quiet down” because they “can’t hear the TELEPHONE”- the telephone! Most of the people working there were older and maybe it had something to do with their hearing aids or something picking up all the background noises, that is the only thing I can think of- I was so shocked and surprised, because I made a conscious effort to make sure I wasn’t being loud at all. So I apologized and put the guitar I was most likely going to buy away- I’m a professional musician, and I like to play my instrument before I actually buy them, but this place will definitely not allow you to do that or they will tell you to quiet down so they can hear they’re bleeping telephone! I will let all my fellow musicians and veterans know never to go to that music music store, because it’s not a place for music at all, it’s only a stupid instrument store- where even soft music isn’t allowed to be played.

As local a place as youll find, but with an incredibly diverse selection. Seriously whatever I have ever needed they have helped me with. Drums, keys, electronics, strings. They have also let me borrow guitar pedals to see if they would work for me before I purchased them. Super nice guys.

Hands down the best music store in town. While they focus a lot more heavily on strings and percussion instruments, the employees are very nice and incredibly knowledgeable of their field, and have such a wide selection of quality instruments and accessories that it makes up for any downsides. I bought 2 guitars today and I couldnt be happier with the experience. Aaron was incredibly helpful and went out of his way to make sure the guitars were a good fit for my fiance and I. It was all done through Facebook, the phone and finally curbside pickup. Were both happy with the instruments in our hands now and Ill be giving Harts all my music business from now on.

Jan Hart runs a great downtown music store. He really makes you feel at home and will cut you a good deal. I bought a nice mandolin from him once when visiting GJ and its my go to mandolin now. They informed me that there wasnt such a thing. I was so impressed with their knowledge that I bought a pick and 2 guitar strings. I am saving for a Gloria Steinway gtand piano there.

Im a professional musician who was passing through Grand Junction. Their staff was friendly and helpful and they provide a wide selection of instruments, even hand drums which are a bit more rare to find. Ended up buying some gear because it was priced well. They ship, too, so I grabbed their card. Definitely will be doing more business with them in the future.

I stopped by Harts a couple weeks back on my way to Denver because I heard that they had an excellent stock and variety of cymbals and most musicians (especially drummers) like to try instruments before they buy. As expected they had an excellent supply of cymbals, but the only problem was that the sales rep, very rudely, told me Hey kid! Your not supposed to touch those! Get away from them and get out!. Whats the point of having an entire room full of cymbals that you cant even try and listen to before you buy? Loved what they had in stock, but the policies and staff need to be adjusted

This is my favorite music store in town, I’ve been coming here for ten years just to get drumsticks and to oggle at everything in the drum cave, they have a lot of stuff for drummers, guitarists, pianists, and vocalists. Was sold a keyboard being told by the salesman it had a USB port to hook it up to the computer, write music with it and that it had touch sensitive keys. Wrapped it up as a gift for the daughter. When she opened it, we were telling her how she could hook it up to her computer and she was really excited. Then she started playing it, no touch sensitive keys or USB port. The very reason we bought it. So disappointing. We took it back, were told so sorry, our mistake. You can buy this one for 50.00 more that has everything you want and when you want to trade that one in, well give you a great deal on it. We paid 172.00 for the keyboard at Harts music....I found it on Amazon, same keyboard for 99.00. Wish I would have checked Amazon first. Will not be going back to Harts Music totally took advantage of our ignorance in keyboards.

Needed to pick up a music stand for our granddaughter. While there I mentioned she was having trouble with tempo or rythm and asked if there was a metronome for percussion (she plays bell set). What a greart, friendly and helpful bunch of guys. Even got the name of an instructor for tutoring.
