I spent a long time trying to find my next car and then had to scramble because almost everything on dealers lots were spoken for. I had already spoken to Borgman at the start of my search and they provided much helpful information. Later, Ford started making my model with the exact features and color I wanted and only found a few already on order in the state. Surprise, surprise, Borgman had ordered one of them and I stopped my search and was happy to give them my business. The transaction couldnt have gone smoother, Nick and his associates made it seamless, even though I was across the state. Thank you Borgman!
Inquired about a vehicle on Friday. Set a time to view it on Saturday. They postponed on me and asked me to reschedule for Monday, telling me they would hold the vehicle for the appointment. Two hours before the meeting they told me their mechanic took the vehicle home because there might have been a mechanical problem with it. Less than an hour before our meeting they said it had been sold.Second star because they at least sent me pictures of the frame of the vehicle they lied about.To the dealer: Before a reply is made from you. I have screenshots and it doesnt matter what your policy is or anything else. You lied. You were unethical. I, and maybe some who read this review, will assume this applies to all aspects of how you operate your sales, financing, shop, and parts.
I needed Service work done on my F-150 in a hurry. It was a last minute kind of thing on a Friday afternoon and I reached out to Borgman asking for help. They went above and beyond to work me into the schedule and had me fixed and back on the road in an hour. I have never been here before and the vehicle was not purchased here. They didnt have to help me...it was truly not their problem. However, they went above and beyond and I am forever grateful! I just purchased a new F150 Super crew and traded in the 2020 Ford Edge that I purchased a year ago. I have always driven a Ford truck for more than 45 years. I thought that at my upcoming retirement I would give up the idea that I needed a Ford truck for my personal needs. It only took a year without my truck that I know I needed to have my truck back. The Borgman Ford Team worked with me to make it happen and I now a very happy Ford F150 owner again.
Had to bring my car in for servicing and Ernesto and the service team did an amazing job of getting the problem solved and keeping me updated with the progress and potential issues. The repair ended up being covered by a recall and they even worked to get the other outstanding recalls on my vehicle taken care of. Very thankful for the quick turnaround time and professionalism.

I have been to no less than 5 Ford dealerships in the Grand Rapids area, looking for one where the workers were competent, interested in helping me and willing to do their job. Finally found one! Ernesto took great care of me and my car. He communicated clearly my issues and the solutions. He kept me informed when the parts were put on back order and got me in ASAP. A bit pricey for labor but worth it considering the nightmare I avoided working with people doing less than the minimum.

Service was average for simple oil change and tire rotation. They didn’t tell me how everything else looked with the car inspection-wise and also it seemed like the techs were a bunch of kids with very little experience. The Kentwood Fox Ford Service is definitely a better experience.
We broke down on I-96 and M-6 on Saturday just before noon. We were able to get the tow service to take our Ford F-150 and travel trailer to Borgman Ford. Being Saturday afternoon, before we were able to get the truck there, no technicians were available to check out what our problem was but Adrian assured me that they would get it Monday morning.Adrian called Monday morning to tell me that the high pressure fuel pump needed to be replaced but the pump had to be shipped in from Tennessee which could take 2-3 days. Expected completion day would be the following Monday and gave me an estimated cost of $1600.00. Well today, Friday at noon, I got a call that the truck was ready for pickup. It was a two hour drive for me to get up there to pick up the truck and the best news it was $400.00 less than the estimated cost. Those are the surprises I like to get when it come to auto repairs. Thank you Borgman Ford for your customer service, your quick turnaround time and working with us from long distance.

Parts department leaves a lot to be desired. This is the only dealership that won’t even attempt to price match parts. They also charge a restocking fee on returns when no other dealer does. On a separate occasion I was assured twice over the phone that they had a part in stock, one half day off work and a 30 minute drive later, I show up and “they shouldn’t have told me it was in stock” was the answer I got. Don’t waste your time playing these games, go to any other Ford dealership in west Michigan
Skip sold me a car and he was great. He answered all my questions. He explained everything that I needed to know. He’s always friendly. He always did what he said he would do. I would recommend him to anyone. I would never hesitate to buy another vehicle from him.

(for service department) I had an emergency electrical issue on a Saturday in my older Ranger and on impulse, chose to hit Borgmans service. Super friendly, very helpful and was able to get my truck in quickly. The part was in stock and someone could work on it. Was only there for a couple hours but it was time well spent.
I would highly recommend Brandon (pre-owned salesman) to help find your next vehicle. By far, this was the best sales experience. Brandon, exemplified what customer service should be. Low pressure, knowledgeable, went beyond final sale to make sure we were happy with our purchase. He also made sure the vehicle we purchased was right for us and did not sway us to something just for the sale. The only difficult part was waiting in line for him. He always had a customer. In my book, thats a good problem to have.

The day we set out to purchase a knew vehicle, it had been 14 years. So sticker shock was the first obstacle Jim had to overcome. We also both have 50 or so years together in sales, so we could see through anyone who would attempt to be less than honest with their approach. Jim didn’t know anything about us, but I can assure you he earned our respect, treating us like one of his family. At age 50, this is the first interaction Ive had with a dealership who would not let me test drive the vehicle until they performed service on the suspension. My prior experiences involved purchasing a used vehicle and then immediately having to pay to have that work done myself. At 10 years old and over 100,000 miles, it isnt perfect. But I was surprised and impressed by the amount of work Borgman insisted on doing prior to handing over the keys. For about a week, during that process, I worked remotely with the dealership to get all of the paperwork in place, leading up to actually picking it up. By the time I picked it up, it took less than 30 minutes to get in and out, which is also the fastest I have ever completed a purchase/trade-in. This was the most positive experience Ive had interacting with a dealership. I would recommend them when purchasing a used vehicle and I plan on returning with my vehicle for regular service. I brought my Focus RS in for a recall, which requires changing the head gasket. I was told 3 to 4 days. It took 1 day shy of 3 weeks.I never got any phone calls to update me on the status of the repair. I had to call multiple times to get updates throughout the 3 weeks. The service department ordered the wrong parts twice.Then when I finally got to pick my car up they charge me for an oil change ($86) when thats something that should be done automatically, after pulling the head off and replacing the head gasket. I was told an oil change was not on the list of parts, on the recall.I expect my car to be detailed since theyve had it for 3 weeks and its just been sitting out back in their lot. Honestly one of the worst details Ive ever seen. Theres bird poop on multiple areas. The wheels were hardly touched.I wont be going back to Borgman Ford.
I highly recommend working with Borgman Ford Mazda and ask for Skip! He was not pushy but rather knowledgeable, helpful and a great communicator. The day we purchased the vehicle we were out in less than an hour.

My experience at Borgman Ford was great from start to finish. They were transparent from the beginning and went the extra mile to ensure I was getting a top notch vehicle. The team at Borgman Ford gave me the best deal one could ask for. My trade value was through the roof and the price I paid for my vehicle was more then fair. I would highly recommend anybody in the market for a vehicle start at Borgman Ford.
The quality of service was very poor. The car I picked out still had dog hair on it and the seats had some spots that were never cleaned. I asked for it be cleaned along with removing some tint. When I scheduled to pick up the car they never followed through like they promised. They also made a big mistake with the financing which they had to come to my house to fix. Very poorly managed for such a big name.
Don johns and the used car team took great care of my family and I. They didnt beat around the bush. Don was up front, fair, and honest about our used honda pilot. There werent 10 trips to talk to the manager and we were in and out in no time. Thanks yall. You definitely gave us a salesman and a dealer we trust.

So about a year ago I go with my son for him to buy a brand new truck. I told my son not to buy any extras like gap insurance because its a RIP off. My son decided to buy the gap insurance anyway for $1000 and after we left I called our insurance company state farm and they said we could get it on our insurance policy for about $2.50 a month. We asked for a refund and the guy in financing lied and said it is illegal for someone else to sell you gap insurance. I think state farm the company that insures my vehicle for when its in a accident would be able to insure him for more. I have been so mad about this ever since that someone would lie their way to keep my son $1000. I would never consider going here again. And also if you go here dont buy the gap insurance, all the things they sell are at like a 400% mark up. You will get a deal on a vehicle and then when its time to finance they will screw you over.
We decided it was time to get a bigger vehicle. We wanted to get an Explorer and thought of Borgman right away. Brandon W. was our salesman in the used ford department. He went above and beyond to find us one that fit our budget and requirements. We even noticed a small issue with the vehicle a week after we bought it and he helped us get it fixed. His communication skills are great. He made sure our purchase was exactly what we wanted even after we purchased the vehicle. Thank you Brandon. We really appreciate going above and beyond for us.
EDIT:After posting this negative review they sent me a check that covered 85% of a $825 repair. They didnt want to do that before the negative review, I was told nothing could be done.When I did get my front bumper fixed, it turns out there is a lot of stuff crammed into various parts of the car and sort of glued on. Which makes sense as the initial fix the dealership pitched was a fix like this.In summation, the staff is friendly and they did eventually give me money to replace the bumber, but the mechanics take massive shortcuts on the repairs. DOUBLE CHECK everything on the car and definitely get PRE PURCHASE INSPECTION.Negatives: Shoddy body work and lies. I was told initially the front bumper was fully replaced. Only after I bought the car was I told it was the original bumper that they fixed up. It is loose and is holding from the work they did, but its going to have to be replaced and that is $800 out of my pocket.Positives: Friendly Staff. Sales arent aggressive in their selling techniques. They drove a fair distance to meet me halfway to sell me the car. The car I bought drives well with no mechanical issues so far.I also asked if anything was wrong with the car and they said everything worked, but the blindspot camera doesnt function and that will also be about a $500 replacement.Summary: The people are pleasant to work with, but be extremely diligent in checking out the body and functionality of the car because they will straight up just lie to sell you the car.

I do a lot of work on cars. Theres times where you need OEM quality. When my truck needs a part this is my go-to place to get them. The service staff are friendly, courteous, and professional. Like any trip to a dealer service department, some of the prices can be a bit stiff, but surprisingly some items are reasonable, so its worth the trip to get the quality the vehicle came with...
After having a less desirable experience at a different local Ford dealer, I have been very pleased by my experience at Borgman. They dont try to sell me things I dont need, and they are fairly efficient. I will be back.
Leased 3 vehicles here since 2011. My family has for much longer. Had always been forthright and responsive to my needs. Will not return my calls for over a week now about transitioning out of my current lease. I am driving out of my way to work with another dealer.

Took my 2020 Fusion there a few weeks ago to have my tire looked at. Mind you, I live 3 hours away on the east side of the state, I have tire protection that I pay for monthly and this is my 3rd Ford vehicle- 1st that I bought. My tired was at 26lbs so we already put air in it and checked all 3 other tires. It was fine on my drive over ti the west side of the state but something must have happened. My boyfriend called for me the 1st time and explained the situation. He was told that the soonest appointment would be 5 days from the day he called which was a Saturday. I then called and explained the situation and was told to bring it in as long as it was before 1:30pm (closed at 3pm). Got to the dealership and they didnt even check me in. Simply checked my tire pressure and sent me on my way. We already did that and I explained that I was having to drive home, 3 hours away, the next day- Sunday- and wanted to make sure my tire didnt have something in it to cause issues for my drive home by myself, on a Sunday nonetheless. Nope. They didnt do anything and when we pulled up, they were all just sitting there chatting. Not one other customer in site. I took my car to my dealership when I returned home and sure enough, there was a nail in it. They replaced it free of charge, since I already pay for the tire protection monthly. Im not sure if the employees there are just lazy or simply just dont care but I will never return to that dealership again.
I used the auto body shop after an accident I was in. My car looks great after the repairs and the guys in the office were really great to work with.They gave me a loaner car during repairs and got the work done quickly.

If you need a car guy, Skip is YOUR guy. We lease our vehicles in our ten years of doing so, we have never, NEVER EVER had as seamless an experience as we did with Skip. We worked with Skip over email to get everything in our deal secured due to our busy work schedules. Nothing in our contracts were wrong or added as a surprise when we got to the dealership. Our truck was ready, waiting, clean and we were literally in and out with our new truck in 9min 20seconds (yes I timed it). Let me add that I am a stickler when it comes to anything that our family pays for. I am that person that looks at every last cent, every last word, every small fine print detail and I miss nothing. So, for me to say that this was FLAWLESS, I truly mean it. If that was not enough, I am an Army Veteran and never once did Skip refer to my husband as the veteran or place my husbands name as the veteran on our paper work (this happens more than I care to say) and shook my hand and thanked me for my service. This was the detail that took our experience over the top not only for me but for my husband who has been through all the sacrifice that supporting a service member takes and it upsets him when people take it away from me. RUN, dont walk to this dealership and ask for Skip. It will be THE smartest move you have ever made.
Great staff just horrible wait times for service. If you schedule a service, dont wait at the service center, you will wait 2 hours just to get an oil change. You read that correctly. Even if you schedule a time slot for service, you will still wait 2 hours just to get your vehicle serviced. I gave 4 stars because they did a great job with the actual service itself and the staff was extremely polite.

What impressed me and my fiancé was that throughout that time period he made sure to step aside from a potential sale to make sure we were good and we were taking care of. The best part was when he was able to relax for a minute during the crazy busy day he was having he sat down with us and we had the pleasure of having a genuine conversation and not the typical small talk youd expect from the bad rep that car salesman get. While leaving I saw an employee with no mask and no gloves drive my car around the building. With myself and my family being a little bit higher risk during this pandemic, it seems selfish and irresponsible to not put a mask on for the two minutes youre inside my car. The service here has been fine over the years but Im disappointed with this lack of basic public safety measures.
This is the epitome of a scam: my wife brought our family car in to get the tires rotated. When the mechanic gave the keys back to my wife, he wrote up a recommendation for new tires. He said that the car is not safe to drive and he should not be giving the keys back to her without doing this work first. My wife was surprised at this news because our tires were only 1 year old. When I saw the work order I was seriously confused because I knew that the shocks were only 1 year old as well. We called the place that we got the tires and shocks from to find out if they were covered under warranty. They were covered, but the place we got it all from was a dealership out of state. So the dealership that warranted the parts said that we had to get the parts inspected by a local dealership to determine the coverage. We decided to take the car to Fox Ford. After keeping the car over night to carefully inspect the tires, suspension and alignment, they found nothing wrong with our car.Borgman Ford tried a high pressure emotional tactic on my pregnant wife who had our daughter with her to con her into buying unnecessary parts and services. My wife was afraid to drive the car after this encounter, much less take our child anywhere. Buyer beware! These guys are certified con artists. Play it safe and take your car to Fox instead.
I have never written a bad review for anyone but this will be my first. I had the worst customer experience ever. Their service department customer service representative was very unprofessional, rude and had a very negative attitude. Its employees like him who ruin the hard-earned reputation of a business. I am a Ford enthusiast and our fleet is made up of 90% Ford vehicles, and I thought we had found a nearby dealership to purchase and service our vehicles. Sadly, after such an experience, I will never return to Borgman Ford for anything and I would not refer or recommend their service department to anyone. I was very disappointed.

I was in town to bring some supplies for my son at college. I noticed that something was dragging from the bottom of the car. It was Saturday and I just got done driving 3 and half hours from Indiana. I was able to get my car right in and fixed in 20 minutes. Great customer service. Effort was greatly appreciated.

On that day when I was getting ready to go get it he told me sorry, they sold it after we made a deal. Called there to find out which oil to use to change oil on one of our fleet trucks they switched me back and fourth to service and parts and either department could give me an answer or had a clue . Both departments very rude and short. I will never go there again dont even know about there own products . When Fred Borgman ran it in the 70s it was a good operation then the grand kid of John Borgman took over . The service went all down hill i will never be back for new work trucks or personal my family wont be going back .

TOM IS GREAT had a really great experience took a little while to get everything all set but got a hole in the tire somehow the day after I bought it and they where kind enough to go above and beyond to fix it ! Will definitely be coming back here in the future
1. I LOVE MY MAZDA CX-52. Justin “Skip” is amazing to work with. He made car buying fun and easy.. yes I said that. FUN.3. The Ford guys at this dealership are AMAZING but I will say the Mazda side is not easy to work with. They do not seem knowledgeable and definitely try to rush you out of the door and into a purchase. I felt very dismissed.4. I would absolutely buy here again but I would skip the Mazda side and buy my next Mazda from the Ford guys.
Excellent service! Best buying experience we have ever had with a car. It was used, but it was detailed; we were treated with the utmost respect and any and all questions we had were answered. A couple of weeks later there was an issue with the moon roof and it was solved quickly and with excellent customer service. Very happy with Borgman to this point! Keep up the good work.
Save yourself the money, disappointment, time, and go somewhere else. I came to this dealership because it was the only place close to me that claimed they could fix my car. I had spilled milkshake on my radio console and it got behind the screen which caused the heat to go on high and did not let me turn it off or lower it with the touch screen or buttons. I explained this to Allison and she called back after the “diagnosis” saying that nothing was caused by the milkshake and that I just needed a system reboot and a new battery ($300). When my vehicle is ready I pay and get told by Allison they “didn’t really see any milkshake in the car.” This was alarming because I did see lots of milkshake go in my car. When I start my car I immediately see nothing was fixed and it was quite dirty (I had just vacuumed before taking here because I have a dog). I went back in to tell Allison and she brought the tech out to look at it. After some whispering, they claimed it was working when they moved it up and that they “guess the whole thing needs to be replaced” ($600+Labor). But I would get the price for the first incorrect diagnosis taken off... They order the piece and after a week of hearing nothing I call for an update. Allison has no idea what is going on and has to call the parts place. Later in the day I hear that the parts place is back ordered 2 weeks. I understand that the spill was my fault, but I expected faster service especially when my car is heating on high, in 87 degree weather. Anyways, I waited some more. My dad is an engineer and I was explaining my frustration to him and we decided to take a look at it. When we opened it up we saw milkshake everywhere. For about 2 hours we cleaned the parts and put things back together. Everything was fixed and back to normal. AMAZING! So now I’m confused on what I even paid $300 for, I feel lied to, and absolutely do not trust the workers at this establishment. The funny part is, I still have not received a call that the part that was supposed to fix this has arrived LOL. (We are going on 2 weeks+). If this place would have just listened to what I said was wrong (it’s even typed up on the receipt I have!!) and put a little bit more effort into “diagnosing” my vehicle, this would have been a quick fix. After this experience, it seems that Borgman Ford just wants a quick fix and are okay with charging you as much as it takes for that quick fix. Again, I do not recommend this location to get your ford fixed and highly recommend making the drive to a dealership with better workers who actually care and listen to your concerns.

They were quick to getting back with me on my interest in their Mazda SX-9 and Derek was very informative and helpful. After putting a deposit down, they were awesome to refund it when I changed my mind and went with an Acura mdx the next day. It was a great overall experience with the staff and their impressive inventory. I really wish I could have given them my business, but Ill be back !
