Spent 45 minutes in there. Staff came and helped me out a bit, they were nice and willing to help when asked about anything. Staff seemed to give me more of a personal experience telling me things about themselves and their playing and stuff. Awesome selection to look at, unfortunately they aren’t a Gibson dealer. That being said if you love fenders, you will end up with a few thousand dollars of debt.

They also have a fantastic amp tech. I brought in a vintage Fender from 1967 to be looked at and the guy talked me into having it rewired and Im glad I did. When I flipped it on for the first time my heart sank because I couldnt hear anything.... Until I started playing. He made my vintage fender amp DEAD quiet. No hiss, no static, no buzz. Just amazing. Cant recommend Firehouse enough.

They are tied to Geartree which is a garbage seller. They sell B-Stock as new and then question returns.As for the store, I walked in and looked through the whole store and was not approached or acknowledged. Walked out I guess they didnt want my money. Never going back.

Walking in to firehouse is the closest thing I get to that kid in a candy store feeling. The selection of new gear is outstanding, complemented by a robust second hand section. Excellent store, right in my neighborhood. I am a beginner guitar player. Came in and spoke with Nate. He helped me find a nice used (I had actually seen it listed on Craigslist prior) acoustic guitar. Found a nice bag for it as well. I mentioned I was a veteran and they offer a military discount. Nice! I am very happy with my purchase. Once its time to upgrade to a nicer guitar Im going back!

Great shop for the most part! Questions are always answered well and everyone is willing to help out!I would be cautious about bringing anything in for repairs though. I bought a guitar from them in January of 2020 and it ended up needing repairs right away. The electronics would cut out when switching between pickups so I brought it back to be fixed. But it ended up taking months to repair. I dropped it off to be fixed, and a week later got a call that it was ready. But when I got it home, it still had the same problem. I brought it back an hour after picking it up, waited a couple weeks, got a call that it was ready to be picked up, got it home, and it had the exact same issue. So I brought it back an hour later, waited a couple weeks, got a call that it was ready, picked it up and it STILL hadnt been fixed. So I dropped it back off in July of 2020. I called in late August asking for a status update and they didnt have any record if it being dropped off. So they got it back in the system and told me theyd call when it was ready. No call for a couple of weeks so I called back in November, no record of it being in for repairs (again). So they put it in the system and said it should be done in a week. I wait a couple weeks, and I called back in late December (after Christmas) asking for an update. It turns out it was repaired, but nobody called to let me know. I ended up paying a total of around $50 for repairs ($20 bench fee the second time I brought it in, and $32ish the third time). The guitar did finally get repaired after dropping it off for the 4th time, but it took from April to the end of December to actually get it repaired.

The staff really went above and beyond to provide amazing customer service today. I traded gear which they gave a very fair price. There was a little issue sourcing the Jaguar I was looking for, but the staff at firehouse went out of there way to get it for me. I only bought a Squire Classic Vibe Jaguar, but they treated me as if I was buying something from Fender Custom Shop.Almost a night and day difference from the way you are treated from that other guitar store near the mall. Anyone in Grand Rapids in need of any guitar gear should make this their first stop. Their selection of Fender gear is unparalleled to any guitar store in the area, even to most guitar stores around the US, and I had previously lived in Seattle, among other major US cities.

I bought a high end guitar at another guitar shop and was very unhappy with the set up. It absolutely would not stay in tune. After 2 trips back to the store they were unable to make it any better. I took it to Firehouse and its now the guitar I had hoped it would be. The tuning is stable and it plays wonderfully. Ill be going to Firehouse exclusively from now on!

In my opinion, it is the absolute go to place for musical equipment. Whether you need guitars, bass, drums, amps, or other things like amp cords, picks, rest rings etc theyve got it. I have never gone in and gotten bad service, its always a good attitude and going the extra mile to make sure you get what exactly what you want or need. And above all else, the prices are very cheap while giving very good quality products.

Prefer this store over any of the big franchises. Noah and Nate have been the coolest, most informative salesman/staff I have ever dealt with in any music store. They know their instruments, genres, and accessories and can get ahold of anything you are interested in if they come across it. Used gear is always reasonably priced and they have an interesting variety compared to stores who only have the typical name brands. Would highly recommend for any musical supplies or repair service.

Im a drummer and guitar player from northern MI and have played with many bands...moved here 5 years ago. I didnt know any music stores in town. I visited all the shops to get supplies but found this place was the best fit for me. The staff is always low key, helpful and not pressuring. Made me feel at home. Went to firehouse guitars today. Walked in one customer inside the store I walked around with 1000.00 dollars to spend 15 min nobody came to talk to me I walked up to them at the counter still no greeting or ask if I needed anything the employee just continued to play his guitar. Wont be back

To start, the staff were very welcoming and friendly, the inventory was good, great for getting guitars and things related. They have a huge selection of guitar amps/speakers used and new, but didnt have any DJ gear other than some audio mixers. Not a place to get lighting from because they dont have much for that. I went to get a speaker stand and found the exact one I was looking for, the price was $50, and I knew at guitar center the same one was less, so I asked for a price match and they gladly did. I will return again.

I had a review on google a couple years ago about Firehouse and the bad experience I had going in there. For some reason its gone today, but whatever. I went back after about two years of going to guitar center just to see if it had changed. It hasnt. The same guys work in there and arent really that helpful or nice. Short with their answers, and they act like they dont really want to help or even want my business. Ill just keep making the trips to guitar center where they are friendly and dont act better than their customers. Ill never be back at this store in my entire life.

After 3 defective rigs from guitar center, I decided to buy local and I was not disappointed. Todd got me set up with a Hartke LH1000 bass amp and the 4x10 to match. After running the amp in bridge mode, which I was informed was the best method at the time of purchase, one of the speakers blew. The cabinet had a 3 year warranty and yet, Hartke refused to replace it and said I would have to pay to ship it just to have them look at it.Brought it in to Todd the next day and he and the team got the company to work with us and replace the defective speaker at absolutely no charge. He also got me a good deal on a blemished 1x15 and its been playing like a dream since. This review has been a long time coming and I felt that I owed it to these guys to show my appreciation. Great people, great shop.

I made my first expensive guitar purchase here, stepping from a beginner acoustic to a Seagull SWS. The selection was great and there wasnt any pressure to buy something. The sales person showed me around the room, answered my questions and let me browse by myself and try some out.

Had good experiences every time I went in. Prices tend to be on the higher side on certain things. Overall great store.

Love the store and staff, but if you have to order something from their warehouse, dont bother having them order it if youre in a hurry, just order it online yourself. It tends to take over a week for anything from the warehouse to come in.

Ignore the one star rating.. it is literally the complete opposite.. i wouldnt be suprised if the person who rated it that worked at guitar center.. i went to guitar center three times and everytime i went there it was clear they were just out to get your money.. firehouse is the complete opposite.. they remember you when you go in and give you every honest opinion and answer you want and or need for your rig.. i will go nowhere else other than firehouse... please go here and help local rather than chain.. prices are same and they will best guitar cebters if need be..
