Ed is amazing. He is so sweet and professional. He really helped us out tremendously. I will not go anywhere else, they are fair, understanding, and really do care about you and your cars safety. The guys fixed my car, and went above and beyond to make sure it was safe for me. They left the car in very nice, clean condition, and everyone there worked very diligently to help get me safely back on the road. Thank you guys!

I came to this place 4x and they have not fixed what’s wrong with my car. They kept telling me it’s several different problems. I just feel as they’re trying to get over on me because I am a woman. I have spent 1000s and my check engine light is still on. I do not recommend going here if you have a new car stick to the dealership.

They were very honest, helpful, and reasonable priced. My alternator went out and they told me the were very busy (during COVID time) but would fit me in. They checked everything to make sure it was really my alternator and got me the best price they could on a new one (tried getting a refurbished one but had no luck). It did take them about a week, they were honest and everyone is short staffed, but they fixed it for a very reasonable price and did not take advantage of me (a single female). Overall very pleased.

I really had a Great experience with this shop. Im a total novice of car repair, and being a woman I was concerned, I had Googled what I knew was going on with my car, so I wasnt going in completely blind.Everything was explained patiently and throughly. Any sales that were currently running that applied to my situation they made me aware so I was impressed by that. I had an amazing experience with this place. I initially googled “car shops near me” and this was one of them that came up and I saw they had great reviews so I chose them. First of all, Jackie, the front desk receptionist and manager is extremely polite and helpful. She called me and gave me updates about my car as soon as she knew them, and as soon as she found out the total of the services I received she found all the coupons and discount codes she could to get my price point down without me even asking! I’ve never had a car place show such kindness and care about their customers so personally. After I paid, I was given a sheet listing what could be done to my car, and they explained to me what was needed most and what could wait. They waited until after I paid to tell me these things and did not pressure me at all! They were not trying to upsell me anything or add on any unnecessary fixes to my car. For example: I need all 4 tires replaced on my car, but they said if I want I can do the front 2 first because they are needed ASAP, and that the back 2 can wait and they’re fine for now. I’ve already made an appointment to go back and get those 2 tires replaced. Their prices are EXTREMELY reasonable even before the coupons and discounts they find for you! I will recommend this Meineke location to everyone I know from now on.

Called to replace a resonator, I am bringing my own custom hi-flow resonator. I was quoted to replace a resonator, $175.00 an hr!!! Extremely expensive, is not brain surgery.

Truly excellent service from this local Meineke Shop. My battery was dead following an extremely cold February week on Saturday morning. I called shortly after they opened to inquire into if they would have time to install. He was extremely polite, provided an accurate and reasonable quote for the work and told me it should not take too long once I get the vehicle there. It did not and the total price actually was slightly less than what was quoted. They texted me a link to an approximately 50-60 point inspection of the vehicle they also performed free of charge. Were they looking for additional work to do? Perhaps, but they were honest in informing me the car did not need anything else. I strongly recommend them based upon this experience and will be returning myself.

Being a young person, I’ve got places I have to be and things I have to get done, meaning I need to have a running car. Meineke Car Care on Madison Avenue in Granite City did a fantastic job fixing my car in a timely manner. They didn’t try hoaxing me and they didn’t try talking me into getting unnecessary work done (my car is old, there is definitely some work that can be found to be done). Instead, they quickly did the job I asked for and had absolutely amazing prices. The man at the desk was so kind and calm to work with. I will always be taking my car here from now on. Brought my fiances 2005 Saturn view in for noises..was told it had bad bearings and control arms and bad rear shocks..elected to do front end work and wait on rear shocks till payday ten days from now...1200 +dollars and almost a day later,got a call that my car was ready right at closing time for the business..I arrived as the crew was closing up shop..all indoors,stuck my head indoor,asked if the cars good to gi,was told the keys and work order was under driver floor mat..I got in the car,put in in drive,as it was facing forward, proceeded to turn left onto Madison ave,car breaks down right in front of the shop..thank god I got there before they left,as I had to get a ride to pick car up...had help pushing it back into the lot..was told would be put up and inspected first thing in the morning the next day...waited till a couple hours after opening on a call,I had to call the shop myself to find anything out..was told by the guy that answered,that it hadnt even been checked out yet..and that he was told I broke an axle jumpin a curve leaving his lot,which resulted in the car breaking down..in the middle of Madison ave..at closing time..I have witnesses that saw me pull carefully out of the lot,mindful that I just spent 1300 dollars on new parts...waiting for an update...update:we are very satisfied with the professionalism shown by ed Shaffer in handling our issue..it was an understanding that things break..in this instance,in the most ironic way..We will continue to bring our vehicles to the guys at mieneke..ty very much ed and team

Ended up replacing the cooling fan, brake caliper, and coolant reservoir. Ed really worked with me and kept me informed on every step of the process. I really didnt think Id find a decent place to take my car after moving up this way. I highly recommend this place. You wont regret it! Thank you Ed and thank your entire team. They are honest and straightforward. Ive had a catalytic converter and my timing chain replaced by them. The work is solid and they had the best prices. My power steering system was acting bad, instead of charging me 600+ dollars, they did their homework and found out about a silent recall with the system. They didnt charge me and my dealership had to do the work for free. Profit is #1 with any business, but you need customers that trust you as well. I think they understand that. PS: I rarely give reviews but they deserve this one.

I guess a Job well done, but you know the question on the drop box envelope were it says do you want old parts(well NO PARTS FOUND IN CAR) One week for a Six Hour Job 5.8 @ 115 per hour wow. Vehicle runs as B4 with a little vibration now!

They take to damn long to do a simple oil change they don’t give u feedback like they use to.. new owner took over this place and they seem to act nonchalant.. I drop my car off left for bout a hour an 45 minutes came back and it still wasn’t done I waited another hr an 45 minutes ain’t no way in the world it should take that long when I came in the same guy at the front desk talked to me like he didn’t even recognized Me like I didn’t juss drop my car off there don’t waste your time or your money with them

The employee at the front desk was very nice; I asked him about an oil change package (bogo) free that I didnt understand online. I made my appointment online before Christmas, so he gave me the free oil change card. I am very happy with this Meineke Center. I dont have to remind them to reset my odometer after my oil change, like I had to remind everyone else. I will definitely return to this shop for all my car repair needs. They know what they are doing!

I could not be happier with the service I received from the crew at the Meineke in Granite City. I was on my way to Chicago when I experienced car trouble and had to pull of the interstate. It was a little after 3:00 pm on a Saturday so most mechanic shops were closed. I saw the Meineke in Granite City was open and when I called they said even though they had many other projects to work on, they could still help me out. The team ended up working past close to repair my car and I was able to make it to Chicago in time for my holiday party that Saturday night. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone who needs work done on their car.

Service. Value. I was going to make that donut spare last through the weekend. No. The Meineke shop in Granite City was recommended. So this is the service value part. The manager Ed Shafer shuffled a spot on Saturday no less. Made an appt, he supplied tires fair and delivered in time.he tires there on time he supplied tires at a fair price, he was a local tour guide for those who have to wait.BOTTOM LINE They were balanced. Id go back in a heartbeat for that alone.

The entire procedure was explained to me before any work was completed. The price was as quoted as well. The work was done in a timely fashion. I was very impressed and pleased with Meineke Car Care.

They did my oil change pretty quickly and efficiently. Checked the fluids and battery. They wouldnt check the breaks or do a little mechanical work I needed done. The price was good.

Have been taking my cars to Meineke for quite some time. Their mechanics fixed an annoying noise coming from my breaks, that other shops were unable to fix. I had an issue that myself or a friend could not diagnose at all. I brought my 93 Cutlas Sierra to Ed Shafer at Granite City Meineke. He was thorough, transparent and very prompt in his service. He carefully explained necessary repairs, priority issues and importance of each then asked before making any orders. Vehicle ran superbly after repairs were made. He had me bring my vehicle in for an oil change and double checked everything once more nearly 1 1/2 months later. The team spotted a possible repair needed and promptly serviced the issue. I highly recommend and greatly appreciate the service there. I will be a customer as long as the team here continues this performance.***I just got my car back from Ed and the team yesterday morning. My vehicle is an older model and has needed some love and attention on occasion. I never hesitate choosing Meineke in Granite City. My A/C feels brand new and the other repairs have it running beautifully. I have faith that anytime my car is in their very capable hands it will be returned running great at a very reasonable price. Yesterday was my 2nd time using the Meineke in Granite City, IL on Madison Avenue. My 1st appointment was for a standard oil change. I never knew what I was missing until I spoke with Ed Shafer, the long time shop manager, to set up my appointment. That conversation got me in the door. The budget friendly prices and professionalism of the entire team made this Meineke even more impressive. They were upfront and honest throughout the entire experience. I never once felt pushed to purchase unnecessary additional services. Yesterday’s they replaced my front brakes. The emailed appointment reminder, on Sunday night, was doctors office quality communication. My brakes feel amazing and I feel safe driving again. More so, I take comfort in knowing I have a 1yr labor warranty and a lifetime warranty on the brakes! Both Ed and Joe treated both myself and my Mother with the utmost respect. I’m not one to ask a lot of questions, right HA! They never rushed me through my thought process which always lead to a few more questions. At no point, did they hint at being annoyed my inquiries. None of my concerns to be a waste of their time. The hard working team @ Meineke, GC off Madison Ave is unlike any repair shop I’ve ever used before. Maybe it’s because of all their skilled mechanics, but this Meineke “runs like a well oiled machine!” Thanks a million Ed, Joe and all the greasy hands I didn’t get to shake yesterday. I had my brakes replaced 2 years ago in Granite City, Ill. I brought my truck back 2 additional times. I paid 775.00 at the time of service. 2 years later I am paying over 800 more due to my original complaint. Never use the Madison Avenue Meineke. Both times I took it back they said it would take some time for the squeaking to go away. Less than 30k miles later I am metal on metal again. Wood River is fixing what Granite City neglected to do.

Very friendly employees, and very fast service

Ive been using their services since I got my first car when I was 18. Im now 28 and their service is still top notch quality grade A. I had some work done about 2 months ago and my engine light was on after I had the work done, I was told I had to drive the car a certain number of miles before the engine light with pop off. Fast forward two months later my engine light was still on I took the car back because it was time for emissions and I couldnt pass. In about 15 minutes they had my engine light off and the problem was fixed free of charge. When I originally had the work done it came with a warranty that they honored! I have always been the type to want things done right even if it cost me a lot more than it would taking an alternate route. That mentality truly came in handy because I paid for quality and customer service overall. Get it done right the first time and it will pay off in the long run!

Great service, lower prices

Would not honor nationwide Meineke warranty on pads/rotors. At first glance, manager Ed could not have been nicer, but it turned out every word out of his mouth was a lie. Made it clear I could not have verified warranty work performed without dollars out of my pocket and loose promises that somebody else might reimburse me someday. First passed the blame on his store owner (lie), then the original store that performed the work not wanting to cooperate (lie), etc etc etc (lie, lie, lie). Accepted my appointment under false pretenses and had my car for 8 hours with no intent of working on it. Obviously out the cab fare to and from location thanks to manager Eds misconduct.Thank god for Chesterfield MO manager Daryl, who squeezed me in at another Meineke to have work done same day no charge (the way their warranty is supposed to work). District manager at Meineke corporate is aware of similar issues other customers have had at this same GC location and is escalating accordingly.If you think all Meinekes are made the same, think again. Avoid at all costs.
