I had a wonderful experience at Granite City Vision. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, and Dr. Barber was very professional in her exam and report of findings. She explained the options I had going forward and let me make the decision I was comfortable with. The office staff made the whole appointment a seamless, easy experience. I would recommend this fine company to anyone!

It was the best experience Ive ever had getting new glasses.Everyone was so nice and kind to me.All the girls were so friendly.

Well let’s just say! I will never go there again, a little rude, noisy, and will up sale you on everything, you won’t get a itemized bill, can’t here them trying to over charge you over the office girls laughing and carrying on. I paid $600 and I don’t even now what there charging the insurance company but I’m going to find out! I should have read there review rating first!wouldnt give my daughter her 1 pair free contact lens after I paid for the exam only if we bought the six month Supply, told me and my daughter she would have to take out the contact lens if I didnt buy the contact lenses! That’s low! I can’t tell my daughter to take out the contact at the register and embarrass her like that, so they strong armed me, stay clear away from here!

Close to home and there prices are reasonable

Recently visited the new office location. The office has a modern, open floor plan. I encountered a very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Every experience with Dr Barber has been informative and professional. Great service. Awesome frame selection. Excellent prices.

I recently visited the new office at 4182 Nameoki Rd. It was super easy for find as it is visible from the road. There was plenty of parking in front and a really nice ramp entrance. The inside is gorgeous! So light, open, and modern. The frame room is amazing and there were tons of frames to pick from. I was happy to still see all the familiar faces from the previous location. The ladies there are always so sweet to me and helpful. Dr. Barber is amazing. I highly recommend you check them out for all you eye care needs.

I had a great experience here. All of the employees / opticians are very nice, and understanding, and take their time with each patient & they always make sure the glasses you choose fit your face just right. Dr. Valerie Barber is one of the best optometrists I have ever been to. All of the glasses I have gotten here have also been excellent quality, and the best price around. I would HIGHLY recommended Granite City Vision to all of my friends & family. - I also wanted to add that I really like the new location! it is easy to find, less than a mile from the other store. It is very nice.

I have been taking my children here for a few years now. The whole staff is professional and very kind. They clearly care about there customers and it really shows. I also must add...the new location is amazing! Very open and modern. The staff keep it clean and organized. I have always went to a different company for myself (only due to being a loyal customer) but now thinking of switching. Granite City Vision just seems like a better fit for me. Long story short...than you for such great service for my children and Ill be contacting you soon to schedule an appointment for myself 😊

Ive been taking my children here for years. We have medicaid. Company has always treated us respectfully. They always adjust our glasses as a courtesy whenever we need help. Clean and comfortable office.

It had been 35 years since my last eye doctor visit, needless to say it was long over due. Dr. Barber was professional, precise, and explained everything clearly to me about my vision. The staff were all courteous, professional, and precise as well, I never felt I was just left to my own. The office is well kept and modern. Certainly worth the 5 stars Im giving them, if not more. I dont write reviews for the most part, but I felt this one was a must. They will certainly be the place for my eye doctor visits in the future.

The doctor told me to get no line bifocal. I really didnt want to but she said they are really great now. I get them and three days later I am in the emergency room with such a migraine headache. So I go back and they remade them without and when I called back to see how much refund I get back they wont refund me. I am out 250 dollarsdown for bif

Ive seen Dr Barber for my annual exams the last few years and have been very happy with the care Ive received. The office is easy to find with ample parking. Office environment is relaxed and inviting. They had a large selection of frames to choose from and accepted both my UHC and VSP benefits. I found the support staff to be welcoming and friendly. I would recommend Granite City Vision to my friends and family.

Horrible place very rude owner and she dont care. I paid for a contact lens exam and they wouldnt give me my prescription nor give me a pair of trials to even try to see if I liked them unless I paid for a year exam. Never going there again!

Rude and incompetent staff. If you go here and they make you pay for contacts there instead of giving you a rx that is against FTC regulations and you can file a complaint with them online. Also, if the staff threatens you, or in any way acts unethically then you can make a complaint with the board of optometry. Good luck to you if youre reading reviews after a bad experience like I did. It also appears that some of the positive reviews are from staff members.

The eye doctor is so nice but the experience We had today was very unprofessional.The nurse was rude. My daughter had an appointment today, I have bought many eyeglasses from this place. But the nurse was just too unprofessional I recommend many of my coworkers and parents at my district and my children school district to come there . But after today I will not return.She said as I was leaving Im gonna tell the owner.. He the owner knew how rude she was acting in front of customers he would be very disappointed. I was very upset my children had to witness thatcraziness

Excellent doctor,she checked me and did all the good examination. Unfortunately, rude staff, the nurse at the front desk let me feel uncomfortable. Only a few bad frames available and the nurse insisted on one fram only that I should choose. She made me sign for the bad one that I chose. Im a university student and she made me feel disrespected.The glasses as she mentioned will be ready within 16 weeks, I was shocked and thought this is normal. But a family member said this is not a normal situation. I have Illinos medicade and thought I dont have much option but I don’t deserve to feel uncomfortable and be forced to get these glasses that she chose.

Family members have reported unpleasant and unhelpful experiences with staff, and have received legal threats for negative reviews. Any business that answers negative reviews with legal threats rather than improving service is one that should be avoided.

This is a very bad place to go. They have messed up the prescription and refused to correct the problem. The staff is so rude to the point of yelling at me, how unprofessional can you get.

Poor staff with no follow up or concern for patients. Was told glasses would take awhile to come in and did not take as long as said. Did not get a call or message that they was in. Waited long time before called me. And rude on the phone when asked about the policy on calling patients.
