The best comic and game store in the area is even better with their new location (though I think theyve been there for about a year by now). Extremely friendly, knowledgable staff, tons of room for gaming, very good stock, and a great group of regular gamers. Ive walked into comic shops before and immediately felt like an unwelcome outsider. Not the case here. Very cool atmosphere. And now that construction in Grapevine and HEB is winding down, itll be more convenient to get there!
Im in the same D&D group as miss-stery, and the staff are absolutely amazing! large selection of comics, always many magic players in the evenings; its happily busy, but never overwhelming. the atmosphere is exceedingly friendly, and Ive approached strangers that are now friends to learn how to play games; everyone is very open and kind. they used to be in a much closer location to me, but the space and the staff make it absolutely worth the drive.- also wanted to add that its definitely female-friendly, unlike some other places Ive been.
YOU ARE NOT GOING TO FIND A BETTER PLACE TO WAR-GAME. Period. Great community, great prices, great selection you are not going to find better boards to play on which is great for hobbyists who like to spend hours painting their models. I dont play magic but the MTG community is big as hell and very active.
This is a great gaming store.I have a 3 year old and every time we walk in we are greeted with a smile and asked if we need help finding anything. Great place to take your family (if your family is like mine and full of tabletop war gamers) The staff is more then willing to help and answer questions that you might have. I also never had an issue with the customers that are regulars. Glad to know that there are still local gaming stores like this.
Classic comic/game geek store. Great selection of merchandise. Inviting play spaces. Friendly, helpful staff. Strong gaming calendar.
While they dont have the biggest selection, they love their customers! My friends and I have had Dungeons and Dragons there almost every week for 3 or 4 months now, and its like a second home to me. I highly recommend this place to come and play with your friends and meet new people!
Nice enough store, large and spacious, but a disappointing selection--Ive been to much smaller stores that had a lot more stuff! The staff was polite but not terribly friendly; the clerk practically ran away from the register after I made my purchase, barely taking the time to say thank you as I was getting my credit card back into my wallet. I might stop by again if Im in the area, but this isnt a true destination store IMHO.
Area 51 is a great place to play anything from card games to miniature games and a great environment for everyone from someone that is just starting to the veteran. If there is something that you are looking for and they dont have it just ask one of the helpful staff and they can see if they can order it.
Great place for mtg!! Prize pool is better then most store during some events! Friendly staff will play here for FNM from now on
A cool little shop with a smash brothers tournament on Monday nights.
I have been gaming here for over 3 years now. Nice store, lots of room and they have a fair selection of miniatures as well as lots of board games and the required CCGs to keep them in business. As an old grognard this place is a decent haven to push figures around the table and toss dice or throw out an old Avalon Hill/SPI or even a newer game to pass the time. Come visit us on the LSHM_DFW yahoo group to find out when what game we are tossing out THIS WEEKEND!
My first time experience at Area 51 as a PFS (Pathfinder Society Gamer) the new location seems better cordoned off for RPG and table top gamers as well as CCG.Initially was worried that this would just be a table top gaming store but their selection of RPG, comic books and collectibles was also very respectable.Suffice to say staff was friendly and helpful and really like the new location.
The new location is very large and allows for a lot more room for gaming and display space. There are a total of 18 larger tables for tabletop gaming and numerous regular tables for RPG and card games to be played. The store can accomodate tournaments of reasonable size. There is also a lot more parking space. The staff is easy to work with, will order products as needed at good prices, and is familiar with and allows for a lot of different gaming experiences (MtG, Warmachine/Hordes, Flames of War, Warhammer Fantasy and 40K are among the more popular games played regularly at the store). I order new products regularly through this store, rather than online. Our Warhammer Fantasy group hosts on average 6 one day Warhammer Fantasy events at this location each year.
Love all who work there and love the owner, he is the best
Sad they are closed for good
Aaron and Mike make it a very gamer-friendly place and can special order about anything you need.
Great and safe environment.
Helpful friendly staff
Bullshit do not go here
Let us see the area 51 that hide leathers ;-) :-) :-(: (: - * jajajajaa xbxb
