Worth the drive. Very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. I was in the automotive business for forty years. I’ve used many windshield services over that period of time. Now that I’m retired, I’m on my own. I wish I would have discovered Glass Doctor years ago. Don’t bother shopping, if you need a windshield replaced. This is THE place.

Recently, the Glass Doctor, Larry replaced two cracked window panes for our egress windows. The windows had not been opened in about forty years. Not only did he replace the panes with great skill, but he was able to get them in working order again. They now open and close with ease. I highly recommend the Glass Doctors service for any of your prospective needs.

It was a quick and easy process. I waited there while they replaced the windshield and it was just under one hour, like they said. The price was unreal too. Way better than the competitors. I need my truck windshield replaced and will definitely be coming back.

I would like to give zero stars ....When the tech came out to measure our windows he really damaged the oak frame and broke a few wood stops. I guess that is what happens when you use a putty knife on OAK. When they called to confirm the installation I questioned on what were they going to do regarding the damage that was done. I was informed the installation tech would take care of it. When a different tech came back to install the window, he noticed the damage and just put it all back up. Although noted on my order form (Yes the first tech noted it) of the damage nothing was done to repair my oak window frame. After calling numerous times (5) not one return call. Very unprofessional would not recommend if you value your window frames.After reading more 1 star reviews I noticed they all have one thing in common, the owner Tony is the one doing all the damage and basically does nothing about it. Same in our case, no clean up no apologies nothing to help fix what he destroyed.

Glass Doctor provided high quality service to replace 2 broken windows. They were very clear about the required steps for the job from measurement to installation. While the schedule changed for measurements, they did a good job of communicating along the way. The final product looked good as new.

This was a job well done by all ! The staff was super friendly and experienced. The installer went over and above to replace the windsield as well as reposition and re-install all of the interior accessories ! The front office women and owner / manager were fantastic too !

Had a rock take out the windshield on my car and called Glass Doctor based on positive reviews and them being local. They answered immediately and were able to have an accurate quote to me the same day. I scheduled in home installation for a few days later and the crew that came out was efficient and professional. The vehicle has some tricky components that make it less than an easy job but it was done in a professional manner in less than an hour. They showed up on time and the price was exactly as quoted with no surprises. Would recommend and will use them again!

The service provided was done on time and with good quality. The only thing I need to ask them about several times is to provide me with the warranty documentation for the job done, and is still waiting for them to send it.

Lower part of my daughters bedroom window was broken. I called and scheduled an appointment. I received a call 1 hour ahead of time and was asked to move it ahead of schedule. No problem, even though it was inconvenient for me to drive there earlier. The guy came. It took him about 25 min just to measure 1 broken pane! Just to be clear, the apartment on the first floor. Then he asked a permission to measure it from inside( about 10 min before he said he did not need to). That is when all the fun began. He stepped inside though a patio door and breaks the patio door blinds. No apology! Just stormed inside without removing his shoes! Walked into the bedroom and asked me to remove the broken pane. I replied that I would not do it since I could cut myself. The guys (later I found out that it was the owner), removed the broken pane and leaned it on a night stand. As the result, the pane slides and crashed over the bedroom floor breaking the entire glass! He stepped on the broken glass, breaking big pieces into small one and started taking the measurements! I though it was a bad movie! He even did not offer to clean up after he broke the rest of glass. I asked him to get out of my daughters place and put the pane back. He installed it upside down! He grab his bag and stormed out of the apartment again using the patio door instead of a normal entrance door. On his way outside, he had a sharp object in his back and it hooked up to a leather loveseat. If I did not catch it on time, he would reap the leather! Unbelievable!!!!!! I do not suggest to use this company, stay away and shop somewhere else! By the way, the window cost $298. On his way out he quoted me $588!Post editThe owner replied on my post and suggested to call and discussed the issue. I just gave it a shot even though did not expect he would not pick up the phone. When I called, NOBODY ANSWERED. But it is ok, I will try to file a complain with BBY.

We hired them to install our shower glass. Our decision was based on two factors: the excellent reviews this company had, and the $300 discount that the owner, Tony, offered when we signed up the contract with him the day, he came to give us a cost estimate for the job.I always like to start my reviews with something positive and here I am at a loss! The only positive thing is our communication with Heather who has always provided courteous customer service! The rest of the experience with this company was a complete NIGHTMARE!Tony never called us throughout the project to provide any update neither did he respond to our emails or addressed our questions and concerns. Every time I received any kind of communication from him was because I called or emailed numerous times and finally got a call or an email back.I would like to include in the review the timeline for our project:May 31 – the contract was signed. Since nobody called us, we called the company a few days later and asked when the measurements will be taken.June 5 – the installation guys came in to take the measurements and told us that the lead time for the installation will be 2 -3 weeks from 6/5.No follow up from Tony. We wrote emails, no response. Asked questions regarding the glass, the glass coating, the towel hook that was supposed to be installed, no answer. I consider not returning phone calls or replying to customer emails quite disrespectful.June 20 – our installation was scheduled to happen on this day. We confirmed with Heather the previous day, on June 19, and I took a day off work. At 8:50 am on 6/20 I got a call from the Glass Doctor of Grayslake that my glass ’did not make it on the truck’ and the installation had to be rescheduled for the next day. No apology for the inconvenience and the lost day of work for me!June 21 – the second installation day was scheduled.On the day of the install, the installers found out that the door was cut the wrong size! The remaining of the shower glass was installed and even though our contract was for a frameless glass, the installed glass was semi-frameless – it had metal liners on the bottom of the glass. Tony claimed that he had told me that this is the installation I was getting even though I never agreed to that and it was not in the contract I signed with him.July 2 – After several calls and emails asking for updates on the door installation, the door was installed today.In addition, there was a sticker affixed to the glass – a note to the INSTALLERS that they have to clean the glass with denatured alcohol. The glass was covered with a film and it looked hazed. The installers refused to clean the glass saying they do not do that and they were very disrespectful!Just as a side note, my brother- in-law had a different company do the shower glass installation for him last week and the glass was cleaned by the installers perfectly!Overall, this was a very disappointing and nerve-wrecking experience! The installation was sub-par and the customer service was terrible, except for the times we communicated with Heather! As you, the future customer reading this might relate, in spite of the discounts you were given to compensate you for the terrible customer service, you are left with a bad feeling. Also, not once during the project did we hear an apology from Tony! Pictures speak better than words – see what Tony’s installers left behind them and decide if the quality of their work is acceptable for you.

They left my car dirty and scratched. I sent them pics of both. Bonus they left me clean it and buff out the scratch. They never offered to do either.

Update: never heard from them. Never got our windows. Filed with BBB and they never got a reply from them either. We are SOL...We are week 7 ( now week 8) and still waiting on our window. We still have no idea when our windows will be installed. At the time of the quote, we were promised 3-4 weeks. We just want some sort of time line.The owner is very friendly and personable. I hope and look forward to updating the review once, if ever, the project is complete.Update- the number provided by the owner was wrong. We did some research and found the correct number. Left a voicemail with no answer and still awaiting a returned call.It is now, week 8 and no end in sight.

I accidentally broke a basement window while cleaning it. Needed to get it fixed well and fast. Called Glass Doctor based upon Google reviews. Great customer service rep got one of the techs to come out within 30 minutes. He was great, professional (wore a mask), and efficient. Took less than 45 minutes. Price was competitive.

Asked for an estimate for replacement of a window. He was late which is fine let me know ahead of time.We just needed an estimate so all he had to do is measure it but then he decided to rip our entire trim out to get more of a precise measurement, so he said. My husband was in complete shock as it was happening. And when I come home from work I find the evidence leftover. I called to complain to the company and come to find out the person that was out here is the owner of the company, which is very disturbing. Were not going to trust him to replace anything or repair anything for us ever because he just destroyed our property for an estimate. Unbelievable.

The back rear hatch window of my vehicle shattered the night before we were headed up to Eagle River. After calling 4 window replacement services and being told my window would need to be ordered and it would be a few days to have it replaced, I called Glass Doctors and Tony answered. He assured me he’d be able to replace the window and get me on the road by 10:30 am the next day. He called me in the morning to say he had someone picking up my window and they were on their way out to me. Quick, easy and we were on the road headed to our cabin by 10:15 am! I got my windshield replaced a year ago and had a great experience with heather. I think she has left and I’m not sure who’s running the customer service now- but less than a year later another small crack appeared on my windshield. I knew I had a 1 year warranty so I called and spoke w/ a new person. I’m not kidding I called back probably 4 times, and got the same woman over and over, and she could never remember who I was or that she had even spoken to me. She’d keep saying she’d get back to me, have someone come out to repair my windshield, etc, and never once followed up with me EVER. The last I heard from her, she said she’d order me a new windshield- that was in March! I mean is it just sitting there? I’m so tired of calling back and starting over that I’m just going to go somewhere else. Bring heather back!

My 11 year old son broke our family room window....I called several places to have them come out. One place came out and told me they couldn’t fix it without me hiring someone else to remove my siding!
