I had such an amazing experience here. I have never taken my car in myself, I always leave that to my dad. But I had to take my car in alone because I had a loud noise coming from my car. The employees here were so nice, attentive, kind and very helpful. They answered every clueless question I had and even pointed out what was going on and what they were going to do to fix it. They also fixed my car SO fast!! I have never felt so comfortable at a car place and trust me, I know nothing about cars. The price was so cheap and very reasonable and I appreciate their honesty and hard work!! Thank you guys!!

Mother in law dropped her car off two days ago, no one called to give her updates. She called 4 times in one day asking for an update and each time they said they would call back in 30 mins and never did. Even lied and said the mechanic was looking at it when she called once. Finally said screw up and picked up the car, they said they haven’t even looked at it. 2 days it was sitting there, no communication.

My husband and I took our 2006 Toyota minivan to AmeriMex complete auto repair mufflers & brakes in Grayslake after taking it to several other disappointing muffler shops. But, before going to any muffler shops for an inspection/estimate, we had our vehicle professionally tested/troubleshot on an OBD II diagnostic by 2 separate Techs, which produced 2 identical reports that indicated exactly what we needed to replace on our vehicle’s muffler / emissions system; so we came fully prepared with the diagnostics knowledge; to test the integrity & honesty of the automotive techs & shops that WE WERE GONNA ALLOW TO REPAIR OUR VEHICLE. We cannot give enough praise to the AmeriMex technician who serviced & Inspected my vehicle, who’s name is Coquis; he was 100% honest & is a very highly skilled technician who recommended EXACTLY what we needed for our vehicle to get it compliant with the Illinois emissions law & PASS the emissions test; he did NOT over-inflate the price & did NOT try to sell me parts & services that we did NOT need. We highly appreciate a skilled auto technician with integrity, they’re very hard to find! We highly recommend Conqui at AmeriMex! See, because we already knew EXACTLY WHAT WAS WRONG WITH MY VAN & EXACTLY WHAT WE NEEDED when we went to several muffler shops for an estimate, we were able to literally “test” each shop to see if the technician(s) would outright LIE to us; and secondly to see if they were going to inflate & price gouge us on any of the services.

Stopped in for a rattle and these guys had it fixed in minutes. Didnt try and do the mechanic upsell of you need to do this and that. Very friendly and professional as well. Highly recommend!!

Is there anyway I can give them a -5 stars? Very poor customer service!! As a business owner myself I would close my own office if I found myself treating people the way me and my wife are treated! Was told my car would be done in 30 minutes,which was awesome! After about 20 minutes went in and the car was still on the lift and never been touched!! Needless to say I asked to have my car dropped and was going to take my car elsewhere!!

I would highly recommend a physical quote before you drop off your vehicle. They quoted me 550.00 and charged me more. I will definitely spend more somewhere else where they stand by there word. Not good for business. People are nice just make sure you get a written quote.

Extremely fair prices compared to other shops. I take my cars there when I need muffler work done n havent had an issue with the welds cracking, leaks, or the prices.

We have used Amerimex for years on multiple cars. It is the place to go for brakes & mufflers. They are friendly & efficient with reasonable prices.

The team at Amerimex is always very courteous. The work is done as well as anyplace I have gone at prices that are beyond reasonable.In the past, they tended to get very busy and run a bit late in delivery. However, this most recent visit, they actually got done with my vehicle ahead of time, so I suspect they became aware and are addressing the issue.I highly recommend them.

COMPLETELY DISSATISFIED! Left my vehicle there for 7 & 1/2 hrs & it was never even looked at. After 4 & 1/2 I hrs called to verify the status since I hadnt heard from them & was told they would call us back in 30 min. After waiting an additional 3 1/2 hrs without a call back we went in only to find out they hadnt even touched my car & to add insult to injury they lost my car key. When they saw that we were upset they humiliated the receptionist blaming her for loosing the key & accusing her in front of a full lobby that she hadnt placed the key with the paperwork. When we witnessed her placing it in a bag & attaching it to the papers upon dropping it off. After finally finding the key in the auto shop, they brought it to us & didnt even apologize to us nor to the receptionist. We are totally disgusted with the unprofessionalism & work ethics of this establishment. We do not recommend anyone to them as they truly dont appreciate nor value their clients. Go elsewhere & get the quality service & respect you deserve. P.S they dont deserve any stars, however the site would not allow me to post my experience without doing so.

This place is great! Twice I have had exhaust issues and they have taken care of my car quickly and affordability. The service was both professional and honest. I recommend this place to all my friends for exhaust work.

I’ve took my car in to the shop many times and long story short, they had young kids and not even educated mechanics working on any of the cars! They will do anything to make a quick buck. I’ll be calling the better business bureau. These guys will be kind and etc until you ask questions or have concerns!

I went to Amerimex in Grayslake. They were very nice, pleasant. However, they do not communicate with the customer/consumer or with each other. I dropped my car off at 10:00. At 3:30 I called and they said they were busy and would call me back in 1 hour. The hour passed and no call. I called again and no answer. The next morning I tried calling again (they dont have an answering machine) and no answer. Finally got through at 10:00. They didnt know what I was talking about and didnt know my car was there. I said I was coming to get it and dont bother. I showed up an hour later and they were getting ready to pull my car in. I said no Thank You and took it somewhere else. I understand if they were busy but let me know in the morning. I was referred to them bu Waukegan Tire. They got 1 star because I had to give a star to post.

This place is old school! They do great work on stuff like brakes, mufflers, and regular repairs. You will not find better prices, there is no coffee or wifi but you save tons of money and they do exceptional work.

Willing to use parts that are brought in. Did great brake and spark plug work. Cheap oil changes. Always charged a fair price.

The guys are nice and really reasonable. Never really have had issues. Have come here 5 or 6 times so far for different things on different cars.

I had to drive to them for an emergency overheating engine problem. We soon got it to the mechanic we wanted but they had three days to identify the problem. Firstly, they were dead wrong saying it was the A/C unit overheating. Secondly, they did not try to repair it (I didnt think we were going to be moving the car so I told them to do everything they could). And Lastly, they LOST THE CAR KEYS! Seriously? They basically opened the hood, said Mm-hm mm-hm. This definitely a car. Charged my $90 to do so which should be no more than $75 for a good mechanic. And then later found out they basically tossed the keys over their shoulder and into the grass. I couldve had a todler do the same thing. Only difference is that the todler probably have the speech capacity to lie to me about losing them.

We had our brakes done just before moving out of state. Shortly after moving our brakes were making noises we had our brakes checked in our new location they showed us we were metal on metal they clearly showed us our brakes had never been done. So they endangered our lives making us think our brakes were changed but they took the money and never did the work.

I purchased a Mazda 2008 CX-7 knowing it needed some work after I got a safety inspection from the dealership. The inspection revealed the need for an AC compressor (seized), ball joints, wheel bearings and a driveshaft cv end. A coworker referred me to AMERIMEX; her daughters took their vehicles there and they were both happy with the work done and the price they paid. I still called a few other places, in the Round Lake Beach area for a comparison, and found AMERIMEX to be the most competitive. They were very reasonable and definitely in my price range. The other quotes were much higher; not only was there a big difference in price, but the parts were not in stock and needed to be ordered.I think most people would agree (especially if you are a female) that it can be difficult to find a good mechanic, but it is even more of a challenge to find one you can trust. My experience at AMERIMEX was fantastic! Jesse, the head mechanic and manager, was great. He was very professional and reassured me that I would be completely satisfied with their work. He was right. When my Mazda was ready for pick up, I returned with my son and he too was very satisfied. The finished product was perfect! The mechanic that worked on my vehicle (shame on me, I dont know his name) was very kind, humble and knowledgeable.
