Excellent service and food. Not to mention the delicious coffee. Extremely attentive and courteous staff ( thanks for all your hard work!). We ordered the Thanksgiving panini and the Greek goddess omlette, both were fresh and delicious. Nice area with lots of plants to sit outside. They were constantly cleaning as well. We will be back...Highly recommend!
Clean place nice people work there I was surprise no roast beef that I ordered could not get it many items on the Menu when not available to order it was sold out. Food whats good well be going back again.
Arrived 10:30AM on a Monday a few days after Christmas.Immediately placed in a booth followed shortly by a cup of coffee and water.The main reason for my visit was because I had wanted pancakes and I was hoping for the Authentic NJ Diner pancakes I am accustomed too.I can thankfully say that my food met my expectations and the service and environment exceeded them. The meal was expensive for what it was, but not terribly out-of-order.Anticipate $20 per person but if my pancakes were anything to go by, Id expect everything on the menu to offer the comfort a diner is supposed to provide.Can recommend.
This place is off the hook! Im actually still eating while writing this review lol this is our 2nd time here. The 1st i had the eggs benedict with beef hash, good stuff! Today we tried their brunch menu... oh boy! I had the poutine, to die for! The french toasts here are the best! Get your family and come to this spot NOW! The service is outstanding as well, the staff is amazing. This is gonna be our new family brunch spot from now on.
Had a really good Greek salad with beef souvlaki. My mom had a good shrimp salad sandwich. Sour pickles and excellent Cole slaw accompanies each dish.

Had the lumberjack breakfast. 9ver easy eggs were made right. No burnt rims. Pancakes were huge and fluffy. Def good pancakes. Hash browns were seasoned well, tasty. The hungrymans omelette was delicious too and alot of meat. Def would come back if im in the area again. Oh one thing tho, I thought it was street parking only. but got a response that there is a parking lot for this diner. Look for the sign. Def coming back. love the prompt response too.
Great neck finally has a clean dinner .. the owners are very attentive and the food is great . Hope they keep the outdoors going the plants make it feel like the Hamptons .

I ate here with my parents on Sunday evening, and instantly, I felt like we were a part of the Great Neck Diner family. The employees are so kind and warm, and we had such an excellent meal. We enjoyed the fall decorations, and we cant wait to come back here again when we are in the Great Neck area.

They can make anything delicious. My husband and I have just started going there in the last month or so. We have ordered a little bit of everything from breakfast lunch and dinner selections. The wait staff is efficient, courteous and gracious.

Bad service and average food. After our meal was done the server doesnt get us our bill. Were stuck going to the cashier and asking for the bill. He says to go back to the waiter. Its a back and forth.Management advice: Train your servers to handle customers with respect.

Its been 15 years since I moved from Great Neck. I have fond memories of this diner.s predecessor, Fredricks. Given my sense of loss because of nostalgia, I wasnt expecting anything special.I mean New York City and Long Island might just be the diner capital of the world. The competition is fierce.When I walked in, I was seated immediately, given a menu and asked if I wanted coffee. It was breakfast. The eggs I ordered were cooked the way I asked, I received 4 slices of bacon, home fries and toast. The waitress was friendly. The place was clean.What else could I ask for? Now, breakfast is an uncomplicated meal. Unless youre at an upscale restaurant, diner breakfast food is more or less the same. The differences between diners is usually the service, the portion size, the price!vakue of the mealand how the place is decorated.This diner shines on everything but its decorations. Its a typical small town looking diner. Frankly, I prefer the old style look. I dont like snooty diner palaces. You may disagree, but if you dont go, youll be missing good food at a fair price

We enjoy dining at the outdoor tables; guests are never slighted or neglected as the wait staff is always attentive. The chicken and waffles brunch selection was very good.

Very well managed by friendly, engaged, detail oriented, hands on ownership. High quality food, delivered hot from the kitchen. In addition to the typical diner fare, they also offer interesting specials that are typically found in higher end restaurants. Their prices are very fair relative to what they provide. And, well-conceived outside dining accommodations are a nice touch during the pandemic.

We came to this spot for lunch. This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend. Well, it was a winning. The staff were very polite and we had a fantastic feeling. The food was just great. We loved this place very much and we will definitely return to this restaurant. Keep it up.

Nice place for a meal anytime, breakfast, lunch or dinner, in the spot that used to be Fredricks luncheonette. I was sad when Fredricks closed, but this place is a great replacement. The food here is good, the prices are fair, and the service is friendly and prompt. It has a nice homey feel to it, unlike the other diner in Great Neck, where service is spotty and prices are higher. When I was a kid, I came to Fredricks for egg creams and Mad magazine... now Im a senior citizen who enjoys coming to the Great Neck Diner for a good meal.

I really enjoy coming here. It’s a local diner that took over the space for Fredrick’s diner. The food is always fresh. The staff is friendly and the service is excellent. It’s a true family owned owned joint. Prices are fair. Easy parking (on street or a lot across the street. This isn’t a 24 hour diner. So it’s good for breakfast and lunch or a very early dinner. I Highly recommend it for a lone meal at the counter. Or a cozy spot to meet your friends.

Excellent breakfast. People will say you cant mess up bacon and eggs but too many places do. But here the eggs were neither under or over cooked, the bacon was perfectly crisp, the toast Brown and hot. My husbands pancakes were light and fluffy Add to that quick and efficient service, a clean place, and good music. . . If I lived here Id come here every morning .
This place is great! My daughter and I come here every Thursday for Daddy daughter breakfast. They are always welcoming and act like you are part of their family. They always say hi to my daughter and she loves coming there to say hi to all her friends. Giovanni always brings me coffee and water right away as well as milk and water for my daughter. He is always very attentive and fantastic. Our waitress is usually Laura, and she is always talking/playing with my daughter and fantastic as well. We have had other servers at different times, and they have been just as good. Not only is the service great, but the food is equally as good. I havent had a bad meal here once (mostly go for breakfast and sometimes lunch). I lived in NJ (mecca of diners) most of my life, and this diner is just as good as some of the best diners there. Their prices are very reasonable and the food comes out quickly. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area. Two thumbs up!
This place isn’t bad but it’s definitely not a destination place. Nothing special. It’s clean and the staff are friendly and pretty helpful but I’ve been to better diners in the area.

Had the lunch special - sandwich, cup of soup and fries. Came with coleslaw and pickle. Good amount of food, took half home. Staff was very attentive without being smothering. Will definitely go back again.
Despite being a little crowded at lunch time, seated very quickly. Excellent wait staff and manager came over to check on us. Food came fast and was delicious, though i prefer the French fries like they have at 5 guys burgers. Its a personal preference. I will definitely be back!

I visited with the family over Christmas vacation and overall atmosphere was good along with the food (their burgers are fantastic).Our only issue was the overall waiting period thru our dining experience. Once seated, it took our server over 20 minutes to do the initial approach our table and another 50 minutes to get our food while getting a few items incorrect. (I assumed understaff).However, the food was good and their prices are reasonable.

A pleasant diner with a friendly atmosphere. Their grilled chicken fajita wrap was delicious. The wrap had a generous amount of tender grilled chicken breast pieces. The chicken itself was juicy and not dry.
Great experience! All of the food seemed a notch above diner. More like nice restaurant. The hospitality is wonderful, the place is squeaky clean, and the music is great too.
Our waiter was pleasant even though it was very busy. The busboys were very helpful. Our sandwiches tasted good. The spinach pie would be better with more cheese in the spinach mix, which would eliminate the need to add so much salt.

Take them and be proud!Seriously, the food is usually perfect, the staff are lovely, the atmosphere is comforting. And try them sweet potato fries, gosh dang.
As far as diners are concerned, this one is pretty top notch. I never had a bad meal there. I wish the hours were longer/stay open later. Staff is friendly and makes for an overall pleasant dining experience.

Nice dinner...updated diner with a friendly staff. The decor is usual for a diner. The menu however, has some very different food items compared to other diners that I frequent. This is in a location thats tough for parking although there is a municipal lot to pay at across the street. Its in my photos. I used to come to this location up to about 10 years ago when it was Fredericks, a stationery store and soda fountain. Loved the egg creams then. There is still a counter up front, but I forgot to ask if they serve that beverage. We had the hamburger on English muffin and I had a delicious chicken quesadilla. Generous portions. Check it out!

This was my first time here...what a nice energy! Like a long established neighborhood institution. My waitress Susie was warm and friendly. I ordered the lumberjack breakfast. GREAT portion, GREAT pancakes,GREAT home fries(among best Ive ever had) GREAT bacon(caramelized and crispy) It seems perfect that its in GREAT Neck.Susie highly recommended the dinner specials and I will return to try one.

Food was good, standard diner food, very reasonably priced. The service was a little slow but Ive only been there once or twice so Im not sure if thats the usual staple of this diner. All in all good experience i would go here again. The chicken fingers are really good.
I wish i could rate this lower than one star! The coffee tasted like dirt, the toast was cold and dry, i dont know how you can make eggs bad but this place did just that. And the homefries were by far the most disgusting thing i have ever tasted. Defiantly would not recommend going to this diner 0/10.
