What a great gun shop. Had a really awesome experience, and for just an FFL transfer, they treated me like I was buying everything in the store. Unbelievably good customer service (especially nowadays) and extremely knowledgeable and aimed to please. Very satisfied, I will be doing plenty more business at Nelson Tactical and if your in the market for a quality firearm, Id suggest you do the same. You wont regret it, I didnt. Really good prices too, even now.

This was my 3rd stop to find snap caps for training with guns. All the others were out of stock. I found them in several calibers. They also had some ammunition I needed. I would recommend you stop by and explore the store.

Nelson Tactical, despite the name ( this is where the LEO community goes) they specialize in the best hunting firearms as well, such as Freedom Arms etc. I had the pleasure of working with most of their team, on the phone and in person in order to acquire one of their fine hunting firearms. At the point of sale Miguel was the gentleman who took care of me and was thorough and helpful making it such a great experience. I am now a loyal customer because of their loyalty and dedication to their customers.

I was passing through the area and needed a set of gloves. Looked for tactical stores in the area, and came across Nelson Tactical. So glad I did! Not only did I find a set of gloves that fit what I needed perfectly, the staff walked me through the differences in slings, pro-con of different setups, and on recommendation I picked up one of those as well. It might be a two hour ride from home, but Ive found a gear store I can trust, and Ill be back for a lot more!

Just purchased my first handgun from them. Was an amazing experience. Knowing the issues with stock for firearms and ammunition, they were amazing. I do not remember the name of the young lady that helped me, but was super personable and knowledgeable. Loyal customer after this visit.

They were not ready for business. 6 people in the store ready to buy something. All i heard was 2 salesmen asking if other employees were ready to work. They were not. Just like the guys running the shop during the day on January 7th 2021. Good way to start the year guys! Might wanna try another city now for sales. Green bay doesnt have space for amateurs.

Their streamlined background check process is why I return to them over and over again. They charge a fair FFL xfer price and even if they are busy Im usually in and out.

I had the pleasure of dealing with Miguel. I havent been in Nelson Tactical since they moved years ago. Nice and big and no crowding. Miguel was awesome to deal with, dont know if I would shop with anyone else there at this point just because I enjoyed my experience with him that much. Very knowledgeable. Knew what I wanted, was straight forward with me. Got me in and out and on my way! The selection is lacking as of right now, but with everything going on. They had one of the larger selections still. I went there to get a red dot optic, and some AR parts. Miguel was helping out a customer picking out a holster . He acknowledged my presence and said they would get to me soon. There was a young lady behind the counter, leaning against the back wall doing absolutely nothing except drinking her coffee. She would not help, would not talk, would not do anything. She kept watching me A, and driving her coffee. After waiting 20 minutes, I gave up and went to Virlee. They got my money that day, and will continue to get my money. The ONLY good thing about this place is they offer discounts to Leo students.

Theyre a good shop, but some of their stuff can be pricey. $620 for an SKS, seemed high. They are knowledgeable though and I always am asked if I need any assistance shopping for something in particular and they wont pester you if you tell them youre just browsing. If youre looking for good deals I would go elsewhere, but if you need some information on firearms or gear they are very nice.

Had a problem with my Ruger 10/22. Turned out to be something very minor and they had it fixed in a short time. Very helpful and knowledgeableWould highly recommend them

The store is kept clean, staff helpful with locating different products and accessories and extremely friendly. Recommended a great firearm for my level of experience as well as various locations and courses I could take to help me gain in proficiency and experience. They cared about my needs and purpose of purchase which led me to something that I would have otherwise overlooked. I love this place. They offer discounts through my employer or as a military veteran. Theyre a local business, and the best Class 3 dealer north of Oshkosh (and probably in all of northeast Wisconsin). Theyre extraordinarily helpful, and if they dont have a Blackhawk! or 5.11 Tactical product that exists in stock, theyll order it for you. They come very highly recommended.

Had the best experience in this store. Never have i ever had this experience in shopping for a gun before. I had normally walked in to buy a holster for my former gun that i had bought from Fleet Farm a month before i went to this store. I had a you g lady help me but couldnt find what i was looking for. So she called Miguel to help me out since he has more experience in this industry. He was helping but still couldnt find what i was looking for he then told me he can try and order something im looking for but it will take a lil longer than normal. I then said ok thats fine. He started telling more about the gun that i had bought at Fleet Farm because i didnt know much about. He showed me and told me more about a good hand gun and told me more info that i never knew in my life. He taught me how to break it appart and clean it and then put it back together. He taught me more than what a regular associate would have done. Well to tell you the truth i had only walked in looking for a holster but at the end i ended up walking out with a gun and a holster for my new gun. I walked out of ther very happy with the service and everything i learned from Miguel. If you are trying to buy a gun for the first time or you need something good for something specific please go to Miguel he will go to infinity and beyond to help you find what you are looking for. He is a great guy and a great sales person with no doubt.

Great customer service. Went into store looking for a suppressor and the first guy couldn’t answer my questions and right away stated he was new and didn’t know. Wouldn’t expect someone new to know everything and was glad to see he admitted to not knowing and got someone that could help me. Want to thank Miguel for helping me out and can’t wait to get the call my order is in so I can go up there and order some more parts. Worth the drive. Very patient even with a little child running around trying to get into everything. Will definitely be referring others to Nelson Tactical.

Went there to look at an Arsenal under folder AK47. Asked to see everything included with the rifle. Employer came back and said she couldnt find it. Later was informed the rifle was stolen 4 years ago and finally was released from police custody. The rifle wouldnt come with a box, paper work and other accessories it shouldve come with. They were also selling it with a Tapco mag instead of a metal mag. On top of that the orignal sale price new at the shop was $1400. After being stolen, a $1300 price tag. At the current market at the time, I could find them going for $1200. Hard to support local gun shops when these issues occur.

Went in to look for a 1911, and ended up almost buying an AR-15. Great staff, seemed very knowledgeable, prices seemed fair and there was no pressure. My first impression was very pleasant and even though I didnt pull the trigger that day on either gun, the staff spent over an hour working with me. I will be back for sure in the near future to purchase either the AR or the 1911 and if this is the type of service you get at every visit I will be a repeat customer.The only reason I didnt give them 5 stars is because I didnt purchase anything from them and this was only my first impression.

Needed to sell a few guns due to changing family circumstances, and they took an interest in my story and the background of my weapons. Miguel was honest and told me straight what the plusses and minuses were. We came to an acceptable agreement quickly with no regrets. Seem to be good, honest folks.

Worked with Nelson Tactical on two different purchases. Recently purchased an Armor Express Traverse body armor carrier through NT. Their customer service was prompt and top notch. Great place and an obvious friend to law enforcement. Store location has a great selection of firearms and LE gear.

Great place for high end firearms, optics and accessories. They usually have a knowledgeable team working and have plenty to pick from. Also carry class 3 items and full line of duty gear. Plenty of holsters, 5.11 gear, reloading stuff, ammo, and firearms accessories. By far one of gbs best gun shops. Prices are on the upper end.

I have experienced the absolute worst customer service from any retailer I have done business with from Rick, the owner, and Miguel. Absolutely no follow up!!!! Beware. Once they have your money, forget about any follow through. On top of that they have the gull to charge high prices. Save yourself money and grief by shopping somewhere else.

Came in and ask for a simple DuraCoat on a gun and they quoted me it would take one week from that day. I waited two weeks not one phone call or email then come to find out the paint is not in stock and they havent started doing anything with the gun however they had the time to rip the gun apart so when I came to pick it up they dont have anybody to put the gun back together. They make promises they cant keep and deadlines they cant make will not give them any more of my business. In the past I have bought stuff from them and everything went okay when it comes to accessories theyre great when it comes to deadlines theyre worthless.

Just lost a longtime customer. Ive purchased firearms and suppressors from them in the past, but not anymore. Bought night sights for my pistol from them and had them install in 2015. Earlier this summer the tritium in one of the rear sights became loose and would fall out while shooting. Brought it back to Nelsons because it was under warranty, and they said they would replace it for free. Ended up waiting a six weeks to finally get my slide back from them. Their communication is terrible. I had to call them 4 times to get updates on the status.Just picked it up now. I was told I had a $60 installation charge for the free warrantied TruGlo sights. That’s the last $60 I spend with them.

I thought this place was good but..... I had a good experience recently buying a hard to find milsurp. So good I sent my father for an AR lower, which they refused to sell him because he was out of state. A Gun Shop that doesnt know gun laws is got good. I have to say avoid unfortunately.

Loved tha service here i go to fleetfarm for most my guns and they can be a lil rude there. NOT AT NELSONS Theres all nice and very Knowledgeable about the items there. Had to wait a lil wile for tha backround check to clear but all n all great Experience

I called them to inquire about selling my rifle. They told me I had to bring it in to be appraised. Didnt want to know what kind of rifle it was or accessories that were on it, so I made the trip. I have a Remington 300 SAUM with custom thumb hole stock, shoulder strap and Vortex Crossfire scope. I even brought the original stock. After watching two guys fiddle with it on of them tells me that they will take it to the owner of the store to appraise it. 20 minutes later same guy brings it back and tells me that the offer is $400. WHAT!!! The new stock and scope ate worth more than $400! The guy tells me that its because its a goofy caliber and they dont carry ammo for. Dont waste your time trying to sell them a gun unless your looking for a laugh.

These guys are by large a joke. Called to confirm they had a part in stock before I drove over asked for a specific color on a specific part. Yes we have that. Great I say thank you. Go in and they dont have it. I wait in a near empty store. One other person in the place. Guy behind the counter looks at me and doesnt say a word. One guy from the back sees me standing out waiting and he comes to help (only one who seams to be worth anything and in position of any work ethic). Told him I called and talked to someone and they confirmed they had what I was looking for. Thought maybe they just dont have the space to put ever color out so might be in back. Still optimistic at this point. Then no. Hopping not to waist a trip asked if they had an ambi safetys for an AR. And again no. Cant blame them for being out of something however they never have them and for a store whos buissness models bread and butter is based around the AR platform you would think they might have some basic tactical type parts on hand. This is just the last nail in the coffin for me. Time after time I go in and its nearly always the same. Every now and then the guys behind the counter are great. Just enough to give you hope that the place might be on the uphill then like a rug getting pulled out from under you. Its gone.

Was great when they were in the small shop but after they moved into the larger space I went in to purchase another new gun. I noted that prices were a bit higher than usual. I said hey guys do you price match? I can get this for $30 less at Cabelas right now to which they responded are you in law enforcement? and I said no. Well sorry cant help you. Uh thanks Ill take my business elsewhere. Sorry guys but when you cater to one group of people Im out.

So my buddy I work with ordered a gun here 14 weeks ago. 14th week when he called finally told him it was on back order. Said itll be there withing the next week. Still nothing.. I was going to buy something here but decided not to because of this. Cabelas here I come or gander.

Went into Nelson to trade in a firearm for a M1A scout on Nov 24. They stated they dont have it in stock but can order it and it will be ready for pickup in 3-5 days. Called the following weekend (2 December) and no one seemed to know of the status of this rifle and was told to wait for a phone call. Called back 2 weeks later for a status of my order. Jessy was rude on the phone and told me to wait for them to contact me and would not figure out a status on my order. Called back today (17 Dec) and they actually checked the status of my order. Apparently they never ordered it. I purchased other products from them in the past. However I feel they are declining in quality of customer service.

Little did they know i was the one that called and confirmed they had a rifle and pistol i was looking to purchase that day. Thats why i drove the near 2hrs..... there almost 4k loss. Basic sales skills are to make sure you reach out to every customer that walks through that door!

It was a little after noon, and rather busy when we walked in, but every single person working made the effort to say hello and ask if there was anything in specific being searched for. I asked if there were any deals on AR style rifles, and of course the one that hit home was the Sig MCX, the deal couldn’t even have been beat at a “big box store”. Not only that, but it was great to work with gentlemen whom are friendly instead of grouchy; like most gun shops, where you feel like a pain in their side for asking questions and having conversation.Even though the shop in general is lacking inventory and options, I still left happy with the MCX, as it was at the top of my list of firearms to purchase. I also would have loved to purchase a red dot or scope, but it seemed they were either not selling new optics, or only selling used optic items. Overall I was very satisfied with the experience I had at this given time, and went home happy as well with 2 extra mags, 4 boxes of ammo, and a soft case all wrapped into the price of my new firearm. I would definitely recommend this place compared to other local guns shops, and has definitely earned my respect.

I ordered a gun 13 weeks ago and havent gotten yet ..I think they should get a new gun supplier. .they say they will check on it and call you back they dont even do that ..well if it comes in now I dont want it I lost interest and they lost a good customer.

I just bought my sons first gun here and the staff was great.

Seems like Nelson Tactical is alright if you know what you want to buy but not if you need anything else. I came in today and asked the gentleman behind the counter if they sold non-marring punches to shift sights to move my rear sight over on a pistol I had purchased two weeks earlier and received a puzzled look in return. He then proceeded to walk me over to the pistol sight section of the store and tell me that if I bought sights, they would install them for me although the wait time would be 3 weeks or more and would cost me an additional amount. On top of that, he criticized me saying that I am not holding the firearm properly and that he has not heard anything positive about my brand of firearm.Heres what I have to say: The staff does not know anything besides brand bias, pushing sales and treating their customers poorly (unless there is a sale). I have tried being a loyal small business supporter of N.T. by purchasing a few firearms and ammo but they have failed me every step of the way. Today was the last time I will enter this facility.If anyone is looking for a more pleasant experience, I suggest Gus Guns or Badger Guns. The staff at these locations are experienced, have extremely good customer service and the lowest prices in town (from my experience).

The staff and owners are extremely knowledgeable and easy to talk to. I recently had a Magpul PRS stock and a match trigger installed on an AR-10. The prices are spot on and the owner took the time to install the parts for me. I usually work with John when Im there and hes great at his job for a jarhead.

Have had a so far terrible experience with this store trying to purchase a class III NFA item. It started with ordering the item from the manufacturer and not getting any communication on when the item serial number came in to start filling out the NFA paperwork. We had to constantly call or visit the store for any updates and even then we came to find out that the serial number was communicated months prior to them telling us. We then filled out the paperwork and thought the process was moving along. 4-5 months later we get a call from Nelson Tactical saying the paperwork they had us fill out was incorrect and they havent sent anything in to get processed yet. The purchase of an NFA item is a long process and Nelson Tactical has not made it any easier by seemingly not knowing what they are doing.

Awesome Shop!!Had uniforms, clothing, gun cases, weapon lights, gun cases & bags, powders, bullets & biggest selection of Redding equipment I have seen! Also tons of Timney triggers, mags, parts & accessories for ARs, 1911s, Glocks, etc.Went to all guns stores in the area while visiting and this was The Best in Town by far!!And the Staff is amazingly nice!Not pushy at all and very knowledgeable tooWent there several times throughout the week I was there.You will not be disappointed!!

About a year ago i had them work on my AR, At first I talked to one of the salesman, he seemed like he knew what he was talking about so I went ahead and had them put a new barrel on it clean it up, it needed a new forearm so I went to pick one out I got to wait for over an hour for them to tell me they didnt know what I was talking about and they would call me the next day, next day I had to call them, they had to call me back of course, finally got a call back went picked out a forearm, they call me I went to pick it up but I looked at it and the workmanship was horrible nothing was lined up, it was bent and scratched, so I told them it wasnt acceptable they put on a new one the next day, then they overcharged my card a hundred dollars, so I had to call them again, I mean come on really, two thumbs down
