What an amazing experience with top notch customer service! Every member at the store is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I trusted this shop with an inherited 1911 from out of state and experienced top level customer service. The company started bu helping me quickly have the firearm transferred to me for a reasonable price. Then I trusted Mark and his team of armorers to clean, inspect, and tune the firearm. Mark took the time to send me a high quality picture of the firearm disassembled, quickly notified me once the firearm was completed, and finally greeted me at the door to walk me through the work completed for an amazing price. Best customer service in the business! Five stars!

Went in today 10/31/2020 for the first time ever and I was impressed with the selection, fair prices and outstanding employee customer service. For starters they had plenty of employees behind the counter and they all were more than happy to help, second off they will allow you to compare firearms whereas most gun stores will only show you one at a time, I really enjoyed my experience today and I will be a return customer even though it’s a 30 minute drive for me, it was well worth it. Thank you Highsmith for being an awesome gun store!

They were rude to me back when they started on the south side of Greenfield. I asked about getting an old 22 repaired but owner said Hey buddy, I got too many guns to work on. Not been back since.

I had the pleasure of shopping this store with my brother and nephew when I was in Indiana. Since I live in New Mexico, I wasnt buying any weapons but I observed how my nephew was treated on his purchase. I was so impressed that I bought a bipod for my rifle. I was even more impressed when they asked what model I had so they could make sure it would work with my rifle. That folks is what service is all about. If I lived in Indiana, I would be a regular customer! You wont be disappointed shopping there!

I had an issue with a shotgun jamming and was headed out of town for opening weekend of gun season. I had called every gun shop and gunsmith in Indy, and I couldn’t even get most of them to answer my call or return my voicemails. I called Highsmith Guns and was told to come on in and they would get me fixed up. Mark, the owner and founder of the gun shop and one of the resident gunsmiths, told me he could get it fixed for me that day! Within a few hours, and after texting me pictures of his progress, Mark had my gun fully operational and in better condition than it had been in at least 50 years (it was my grandfather’s gun originally.) I can’t say enough good things about Mark and Highsmith Guns! I strongly recommend using them. They are great people, and I couldn’t be happier with their service!

The first time I went in, I was immediately greeted by a very friendly person behind the counter. I am a novice to guns and was up front with him about that. He asked questions like what was I looking for, and how much I might shoot it.He showed me many versions and price ranges. In the end I bought a midrange entry gun. I have since been back many times and bought 2 more from them. Each time I’m greeted professionally and no matter how crazy of a question I ask, they answer. I’ve never felt belittled by them. I met the owner last week and was again treated like a customer they had seen for years. After only a few months of meeting them, I trust their expertise and will continue to do business with them. I have friends who are huge enthusiasts and have confirmed the advice they have given me.

Employees are extremely rude, and they are capitalizing on current events, their prices are 50% higher than any other store, I would highly recommend going to fields outdoor in rushville! Do not go to highsmith guns they will rip you off

Great place to stop in at on occasion. The staff has always been super nice. They have one of the nicest stores you will walk in to. They can be a little on the high side with their pricing, but they are negotiable, especially on their used stuff. Novice first time gun buyers: you will not be treated like an idiot at this store.

I drive out of my way to come here because this is the best gun store and indoor range in Indiana, hands down. Friendly, courteous staff, excellent prices, and their indoor range is excellent. I absolutely love coming here.Furthermore, I recently had two rifles with headspacing issues worked on by Johnathan, one of their gunsmiths. If you need any work done hes your man. He put a lot of time and effort to ensure it was done right and explained everything to me so that I felt comfortable with the process from start to finish. Im very pleased and I look forward to giving him my business again in the future.

Great staff that is very knowledgeable and helpful. Firing range is well kept and has plenty of lanes and they offer free targets for use. Parking can be a hassle if theyre busy, but there is public parking on the other side of the dentists office available when their lot is full. Good selection of pistols for range use and variety of weapons for purchase beyond just pistols. (Range is small firearms only)

Went on a work outing with about 10 other women (some not knowledgeable in firearms) and two men (who are very knowledgeable). We all had an awesome time. Staff never talked rudely or down to anyone with no experience. Clean and nice facility and offered eyes and ears protection. Extremely happy to find this gem so close to home!!!

I love this shop, as a shop. The employees are very friendly and helpful and they have a solid selection of firearms. I want nothing but success for them. However, I could not in good conscience recommend them as a shooting range. Chief among the reasons why, is that their range has very little to no ventilation. When they are busy, youre essentially hot boxing yourself in gun smoke. Within 20 minutes, all I could taste was gun powder. Within 35 minutes I was gagging on it. By the end of my hour, I had a major headache and I felt sick for the rest of the night leading into the next morning, finding that I continued to taste gun powder up to 18 hours after my visit, as the massive saturation had coated my mucous membranes. The contents of my nose were jet black and every time you pull saliva from your throat you taste gunpowder. That is severely concerning considering carcinogens and carbon monoxide. I can not go back to this range, nor would I recommend it to anyone for this reason. Shooting in a fog of carcinogenic, poisonous smoke is simply unacceptable. I firmly believe I had mild carbon monoxide poisoning. Other reasons include very shakey target carriers, making it impossible to actually train accuracy as they pretty much never stop swinging, very small targets that they give you with your range time, and the inability to fire shotguns or rifles there. Its a great gunshop, but honestly a terrible range. It really sucks to have to say it, but someone has to. If they could improve the ventilation it would be better because their range time is very cheap. But for what its worth, Ive spent about 1,500 to 1,800 dollars there at the shop. Keep doing what youre doing guys, but you have GOT to do something about the air quality. You could be giving people cancer by allowing it to get that bad, Im legitimately concerned for my own health after just one hour on that range.

While I havent spent any money here, I was throughly impressed with my visit the other week. I walked in prepared to be ignored like lots of other gun shops, however that was not the case. The owners son was the person talking to me I believe. He was very nice, explained what they have to offer there at the shop and wasnt just trying to sell stuff he was talking to me like a friend. Very nice, you dont get that at a lot of other gun shops. The gun selection is pretty wide, I was happy that there were plenty of guns aside from just polymer wonders. They have the good stuff here. So Ill conclude by saying I havent spent any money here...yet

Thought it was the warmest indoor range Ive ever been in. Forced my wife to come shooting with us and the staff was very patient and accommodating. They gave us the stall furthest from everyone else, and they patiently walked her through the pluses and minuses of each of their rental guns (sometime you need to hear it from someone you are NOT married to). They had outstanding service and Ill definitely be back!

This is my LGS and they are absolutely wonderful people. Very knowledgeable in multiple different areas. Anyone posting reviews calling Shane Highsmith a con artist is complete incorrect and libelous. Anyway, fantastic place and I highly recommend it to anyone in the Greenfield area.

The people that work there are great, the Range is nice and its affordable. The ammo you can buy for the Range is inexpensive, they have many different hand guns you can rent. So you can try out different calibers and frame sizes before you buy.

Greenfield has several Gun stores. What makes Highsmiths the best is that is has a very nice gun range at the store. I enjoy shooting my hand guns and 22 rifle at the range. it is always clean and well staffed.

I came in to rent a few handguns to test on their range. I was promptly greeted and directed to a case where a friendly guy showed me around their selection. The range was nice enough, had to do a bit of guessing as to the distance, but it was clean, bright, and well ventilated. Im glad I went.

My 14 year old daughter and I are both members and come and shoot at least once a week. The range is always well lit, clean, climate controlled, and most importantly, SAFE. I literally trust them with my life and my daughters life. The one time my daughter saw a safety issue, she notified the staff and they immediately had a chat with the customer to reinforce the safety rules.The store is well stocked with supplies, ammo, and a variety of firearms and archery equipment. They can also order you whatever you want. They have a variety of firearms for rent so you can try before you buy. My daughter was very picky and tried over 20 handguns and then they ordered her the one she wanted in tiffany blue. They were just as excited as she was when she got to shoot it the first time because they do care about their customers. They also offer gunsmith services. They have replaced the sights on a couple of my firearms for a reasonable price and it was good quality work.As for some of the negative reviews, I have seen a couple of times where they are not all smiles. Then again, they deal with all types. I have found them to be very helpful and they often make suggestions to help improve shooting as well as offering classes. Like any business, I find some of their prices to be better, some about the same, and sometimes they are more expensive. I could say the same about buying groceries or automobiles. Do your homework.In summary, it is a nice range, good store, and a good bunch of guys doing their best to provide quality service for a fair price. They want to encourage the shooting sports and try and be as good as they can with children and the ladies, too. They have all acted like gentlemen and you could safely bring your wife, daughter, and the church ladies into their establishment.

This place was amazing being an African American from the eastside of indianapolis growing up all you see is hatred and violence and people hating each other all races so even as an adult you have that thought somewhere in the back of your mind that your not accepted at certain places....... goin into the shop showed me you should never judge a book by its cover these people was very nice and professional!!!! They did not hesitate to help I probably looked at like 5 guns and they never changed they didnt rush me and did not treat me any differently than any other customer in that store these days its hard to get good customer serviceslike that. I called to see how much it would cost for my high school daughter, who is in the National Archery in Schools Program (NASP), to practice there. It cost $10/day! I explained she just needed about 45 minutes a day to practice. He said Well, shoot for a while, go eat, and come back and shoot some more. I dont think they understand NASP at all and the practice needed. I told him we couldnt afford spending $10/ day. He said that was their rate. We recently moved to the area. A lot of the ranges where we used to live in southern Indiana would let NASP kids practice at a reduced rate or for free! Just very disappointed in the lack of knowledge for an archery shop not to know about NASP and the cost charged for a kid to practice for that length of time. Please review your rates!

Went in to buy an 8mm cleaning brush for my mosin nagant. They didnt have any on the wall, but were willing to sell me one out of their gunsmiths toolbox. I also bought some cleaning solvent and a 12 gauge cleaning brush, and yet they treated me just like a customer spending $1000 on a gun. This is the mark of a quality store. All too often you go to a gun shop and they literally wont talk to you unless youre ready to spend thousands or are over 60 years old. This is not one of those places. They offer training/classes as well and I am definitely considering signing up. Nice people, nice selection, good service...you cant ask for much more than that!
