I had a wonderful experience at my visit at Oman Eye Care. From the moment I walked through the door to the person at the front Desk, the tech, to the doctor, customer service was excellent. Dr. Skelton was great! Happy to have found a great place to go for my eye care.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS! My husband and I both went here in November for exams, we had our exams and then find out that our insurance doesnt cover our glasses there. No one stated anything else about the insurance not being accepted during our visit. Had they have said that they did not accept our insurance we wouldnt have kept the exam appointment. We then get bills in the mail for almost $400. When I called the lady said she fixed the issue and I could throw those bills away. I get a call today, months later stating that our insurance didnt cover the exam but they reduced the amounts down to $90 each and that they expected payment. It is literally a whole new year months past our original visit and now we are being held liable for something that they should have caught at the beginning. I will be going to the better business bureau and leaving multiple reviews this is absolutely not good business.

The eye exam went great, but the optical side I have been waiting on my glasses for over 4 weeks now every time I call they have a excuse why and where they are and tell me they are going to call me back that day or the next day it’s Friday 8/6/21 I called Monday my wife called last week guess what no return call yet eye exam side is wonderful the optic side of this place stay away and go somewhere else for glasses tires of no return call and being lied to.

From the initial call to schedule, to my follow up call to move my appt up, to the reception upon arrival - all were extremely pleasant and professional! Dr Johnson was very professional and efficient, while also being very patient and clear in presenting information and options for correction. I am confident that this is the best correction that I have ever experienced! It is clear that this team enjoys working together and that makes for a great experience all around!

Oman Eye Care office is clean and professional. Their employees/associates are very professional and pleasant. Although I havent received my glasses yet, I know they are going to be a correct prescription ( Ive had eye exams and glasses for the last 50+ years). If you are going for an eye exam I do recommend Oman Eye Care. I am not an employee and I am not acquainted with the people working there. The optometrist that gave me my exam was Dr. Skelton again, very professional.

I visited this practice to update my contact lenses and glasses. After three visits, approximately $350 spent, and consuming my annual insurance visit, 6 months later and I still not have a working prescription for my glasses nor the contact lenses. Major waste of time an money.The appointments are rushed as the provider tries to spent as less time as possible with each customer. The prescriptions that I received were completely arbitrary. Ive been wearing glasses all my life, and I cant remember having to go to an optometrist twice. There Ive been three times and they still couldnt get it right. Even though its their contractual responsibility to provide the customer with a working prescription (I talked to the insurance), after the second visit they will ask for money.The quality of the lenses is pretty bad--low quality, thick plastic. My old lenses, purchased before ten years, were significantly better. To be able and finally see, I had to pay for a new insurance and go to another practice (and pay for new glasses).

My 12 year old daughter and I are both patients here! She just started wearing contacts and they were so patient teaching her how to put them in and take them out and how to care for the lens. Our doctor was so helpful and knowledgeable as we had to try 5 different brands over several weeks to find the right one for my daughter. We LOVE Oman Eye Care. Everyone is helpful, knowledgeable, patient and kind!

I have been very pleased with Oman Eye Care for the last two years. They are kind, professional, comprehensive and they explain everything as needed. There is NO pressure to buy glasses/contacts from them but the have a large selection if you choose to purchase from there.

I recently returned to Oman Eye Care as a patient after a 5 year hiatus where I saw another medical professional. I returned to Oman Eye Care because they were an approved provider with my new insurance company. Although the eye exam and doctor was fine the service offered by the staff is horrible and a very poor reflection on the practice. I had nothing but issues with their billing and the interaction between them and my insurance company. Whether it was me or the insurance company that called them with questions or issues they were very unresponsive and days would pass without a returned phone call. The last contact I had was from one of their employees who assured me that she had talked to the insurance company and a new claim was being processed to get them paid my small remaining balance. Well yesterday I got an invoice in the mail with a stamped and highlighted notice that I owed them $60, had until October 17th to pay or that it would be sent to collections. REALLY! collections over $60. I am extremely disappointed to be treated like a dead beat! Never have I left a bill unpaid and do not expect to be treated in this way. Although Heather Oman is great, she apparently needs to spend some time coaching her office staff. Not sure dealing with this practice is worth the headache! Do yourself a favor and go to a smaller more professional practice.

Dr Johnson was amazing with my 8 year old son! I am also unfamiliar with many of the terms and she explained it all so I could understand it. She then gave our family options and what she would do if it was her own child. Great experience!!

We wouldnt go anywhere else for our eye exams. They have the best equipment and they are so sweet!

My suggestion if you have floaters or any area of concern, just pay the additional out of pocket $39 and you’ll get Cadillac service? (Do we still say this 😂) with all pictures of both eyes and you’ll know if there is cancer, detachment potential, or macular degeneration and some other things to boot and you can skip the bs dilation- total win. Unfortunately, as I was not up on all things eye appointment as of late, I got both -yay.If you don’t chose the $39 pictures then they will charge you your insurance copay (for my UHC it was $50) and you will only get one straight on picture of both eyes and a detailed pic in just the directions of concern in the eye of concern (so I’m still uncertain about all that fancy pre-discovery? from that high tech machine in my other eye) and then they bill your medical insurance for whatever astronomical amount (in addition to billing eye insurance-it really was not clear) I will update when I receive the bill. I had not had my eyes checked in 14 yrs, so I had no history of issues other than those new floaters and light flashes and my new dr recommended Oman. I wrote this for others that may end up in my same position, if you pay the $39, then you can skip the back and forth harassing as the insurance person comes in and talks about coding (I know nothing about) and the questions about where your husband works and the evil eye stares as you walk by the admin/ insurance ladies office to get the pictures I should have just opted in from the beginning. (I’ll admit that I couldn’t help, but voice my distaste at being upsold in an eye dr office, so the stares were maybe just for me or maybe it was just shock and awe (at my boldness or probably in their minds- tackiness at calling them out, so probably all was just a me thing being an outsider/not an original Carolinian thing) Anywho I’m sure they are grateful, but I will not return and my husband and kids will never be patients of this office. Better luck to you, as you are now better equipped to make better decisions than I was, if you choose this office.

Ive seen both Dr Oman and Dr Johnson several times over the years. Always very thorough and explain things very well. Ive seen some of the same staff there for over 10 years as well. Always wonderful and friendly. Had an eye problem few months ago, and they worked me in within a few hours to be seen.Great place. Strongly recommend!Thanks guys!!

I only gave 1 star because that is the lowest allowed.I have been a patient with this eye care group for about 3 years. For about the past year I have been stuck in a battle with the eye care group and my insurance company. About two years ago during a routine eye visit the billing department billed my visit for the wrong date, I did not realize this error until I returned one year later for my routine annual visit and AFTER completion of the visit I was sent a bill for the entirety of my charges stating I returned too soon and was responsible for the charges as my insurance would not pay. After some investigation the eye care group realized the error was a the billing issue mentioned above and agreed to contact my insurance to change the first claim date so the more recent visit would be covered. Approaching a year since the most recent visit and the issue is still not resolved. I have contacted my insurance company multiple times and been told they will be glad to handle the issue with the eye care group but have found it difficult to get a staff member on the phone, which from my experience is very true. I have called the eye care group MULTIPLE times and spoke with the billing specialist who admits the whole issue started with them mis-billing a prior visit and assures me they will handle it. The eye care group since has stopped accepting my insurance stating they are difficulty to contact, very much NOT my experience. Last week I received yet another bill, this time threatening to turn me into collections. This bill came about after being reassured by the eye care group billing staff that the issue was being resolved and I needed to do nothing more. After attempting once again to reach the eye care group and being forced to leave a message, I received a courtesy call from my insurance on behalf of the eye care group stating they have made the request to correct the wrong claim but it is currently being processed and is delay.I am furious that the entire issue is because the EYE CARE GROUP made a billing mistake, they have frequently NOT returned my calls and now are threatening to turn me into a collection agency. I fail to understand this logic or how I am responsible for their mistakes and inability to communicate with their patients.

Horrible.I would not recommend this place tp anyone who wants to be able to see correctly.The doctor couldnt seem to get my prescription right for my lenses.She sent in her understudy to try and help me.Very unprofessional!!!! I have been double charged for my office visit that was 3 months ago.I told the staff that I couldnt see and could I just purchase a pair of glasses.She told me that if I did that I could no longer get anymore contacts from them.I dont understand how going to the eye doctor could be so much of problem.They made me pay my bill each time in full.They make it plan before you even see the doctor.I have never been to an eye doctor who throws her patient off on someone else and than double bills them for something they have already paid for.I would like am apology an expansion.😢😢😢😢💸💸💸🔍🔍🔍🔍

I originally took my son here to get looked at, and Dr Johnson was fantastic. He was a little nervous, but she got him to be very calm. She determined what his problem was, and has made amazing improvements since Dr Johnson first looked at him. Because of the amazing care, I soon started going instead of going to a big box store and I wont turn back! I highly recommend them!

Dr Oman and her tech were able to correct my eye problem with one fitting. They were both willing to spend the time needed and to provide me with an explanation that was easily understood. Dr Oman also answered all my questions. Dr Oman is very friendly and upbeat. I would definitely recommend her to friends and family and will go there again if needed.

I went for the first time this week and saw Dr. Johnson. She was nice and thorough in the exam and didnt make me feel rushed. All the staff were friendly and helpful as well, so I would recommend this place if youre looking for an optometrist! They also have Himalayan salt lamps in the exam rooms, which is a relaxing touch that I really appreciated.

I’ve been to several eye doctors but Oman Eye Doc has been the best experience consistently, no question. I’m always surprised by how much I enjoy the staff because I’ve been through so many subpar offices. They’re amazing, from the reception desk to the exam room. I always feel like they have my best interest in mind and it’s such a relaxed environment. I can tell the staff enjoy working together and that makes me feel comfortable. The doctors are very good and explain complexities of the eye well without dumbing it down or being patronizing like many doctors can be. Can’t say enough good things about them.

I have been a patient of Dr. Brynes for many happy years. Recently, I got 2 new pair of glasses and the Rx needed a little tweaking. I dashed in a few minutes before closing time. Between Alberto and Mike the ophthalmologist, they stayed for several minutes after hours to help me get the right prescription, measuring, re-measuring, and explaining it all in easy to understand terms. I am very grateful for their open willingness to go beyond the call of duty to help me!

The doctors here are great, I have been taking my family here for years. The billing and office staff is the problem that I have. They will not issue you the credit that they said they would for an overpayment and then refuse to return your phone calls. After 2 months, multiple messages, and talking with the lady at the front desk several times my issue still isnt resolved.Im very frustrated and will not go back here. I will find an eye doctor with a more professional office staff that doesnt avoid phone calls and dodge customers that are trying to get a resolution.

Stopped by made an appointment. Took the paperwork with me and filled it out at home, easy. The whole process was simple. Good exam, quality glasses. They do seem a little expensive, but Im fine with paying a little extra for quality. 4.5 stars. Will definitely return.

They were so kind and helpful. They really worked with me to find the best prescription that worked for reading my music, school books and working on a computer. They checked everything multiple times to make sure it was just right, especially with my contact fitting.This help carried over when picking out my frames. I love my new glasses, and are already planning to go back for prescription sunglasses.

Dr. Oman, and the entire Oman Eye Care team are outstanding at what they do. You are always made to feel welcome with warm and friendly smiles that assures one that you will be well taken care of. The level of care is compassionate, professional, and thorough! Recommend them very highly!

I would highly recommend Oman Eye Care. My routine visits have always been very thorough and Dr. Oman does an excellent job of explaining the exam and results. When I experienced what I thought was a potential emergency issue, they got me right in and again provided a very thorough exam on short notice, which put my mind at ease.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Byrnes for years, great friend and great eye MD. I have not met the other two eye specialist. The girls and guys that adjust your glasses are fantastic, however, the office staff leaves a lot to be desired. I’m sure they have a tough job dealing with money and appointments, however, they should be more compassionate. Most don’t wear glasses, so they have no idea what we have to go through and the cost associated with same.

Wonderful practice - I was referred by my pastor last year when it was time for my exam. I had not found any practice that fit me well. I have now - just went for my second annual check up with them and found them to be the best!Friendly knowledgeable staff. I never feel rushed with Dr. Johnson and she always takes her time and answers all my questions.The Optic team were most excellent! Happy Happy Happy patient!

Staff was wonderful and friendly. Dr was very thorough, kind and understanding. They even were able to accommodate special tests not scheduled while I was there. I was early to do paperwork and they took me in before my scheduled appt.

My entire family have been patients of Dr. Oman for many years. We have always had a good experience whether we were there for an exam, glasses, or contacts. We are always seen in a timely fashion and the entire staff is very friendly and helpful. My husband had to undergo surgery on both eyes several years ago and Dr. Oman handled the referral for him. I have referred many friends to her office over the years and they have all been pleased with the care also.

This is where professionalism is infused with friendliness. I recommend this practice too anyone. The office is inviting and relaxing from front to back. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. I am now a loyal Oman Eye Care patient.

Had my first appointment with Dr. Oman last week upon a recommendation from a friend.  I was not disappointed.  She was very thorough and did not rush through the appointment.  The staff was very helpful and courteous.  I feel very confident in trusting my eye care to Dr. Oman.

I love my visits to Dr Byrnes. He makes going to the Dr fun. He is always super nice! Always explains how my eyes are doing and makes sure I have the correct lens for my vision! I will continue to use him and will always recommend him to others !!!

This was my first visit.Front staff was very nice and prepared when I came in. I had a short wait in the lobby and all staff was nice. Dr. Johnson was friendly and met my needs while being very efficient with my time. I will continue to come back.

I’ve been going here for some years now and at this point I am fed up. EVERY single time I call in to order contacts they do not answer or they route me to the order department which no one answers there either. I’ve called and left voicemails and still nothing. It’s not convenient at all. Also, the website says they close at 5:30pm but when I call before that time they’re saying the office is closed. If the hours have changed why not update it? Or are my calls being forwarded? Just ridiculous. It shouldn’t take this long to get a hold of someone so I can place an order for contacts.

I originally came to Oman Eye Care because I was having some issues with my right eye, and my regular eye doctor wasn’t able to see me that day. I called Oman Eye Care and they got me in there within a couple of hours! The experience was so good that I came back for my eye exam, and was even more pleased! Going to the eye doctor has always been something I have dreaded since I was a young child, but these guys made me feel welcome and the exam was a breeze, I actually look forward to going back.

Dr. Charles Byrnes O.D. is the BEST eye doctor that I have ever seen. He is very smart and nice. Anybody that wants an accurate eye exam please go see Dr. Byrnes. The staff is great also.

Dr. Oman is 100% the best for hard to fit contacts!!! My daughter has been in glasses since she was two years old and after trying for contacts at other practices, we had given up until someone suggested Dr. Oman. I have one happy teenager that feels awesome in contacts!!!!!!

I was referred here by a friend that loved her eye doctor. On the phone the staff was slightly rude and that should have been my indicator to look elsewhere but I know some people just have bad days, so I scheduled anyway. When I went in the receptionist was less than welcoming. I was filling out paperwork and a woman with a clipboard said Helllooo Raymond and I looked to her and said hey whats up, shes said EXCUSE ME? very rudely and I said yeah thats me and she said Ive been calling your name amd I said Im didnt hear you. We got into the exam room and she said put your face here, tell me what you see and was just rude. Zero engaging conversation. Just do what I say kind of attitude. She then said how are you doing today, I said great until I came here. She asked why and I told her that the past 15 mins of my experience so far has not been very welcoming. She said it is what you make it. REALLY?! She then walked me down the hall put me in exam room and said the Dr. will be with u shortly. The Dr. was great, great conversation listened to my issue and did a fabulous job. My overall experience with Oman is, sometimes you have to go through the ghetto to see paradise. If you want to be talked to like a dog that got caught digging through the trashcan in the kitchen, then this is the place for you to be. If these women are so unhappy with their jobs, they should find somewhere else to work. I wont be going back.

Ive seen Dr Byrnes for years and he is great - Ive seen Dr Oman as well and was quite impressed. However, the office staff is poorly organized, unresponsive and ignore patients while chatting in their own private groups.

I was very satisfied with the care at Orman Eye . I was there last year too and Dr. Byrnes. I was really pleased and impressed with the exam and his friendly manner and would recommend him to friends.

I have been going to Dr. Oman for a few years now. She has always explained everything to me in detail - especially when I opted for Lasik and she handled my pre- and post-care. The staff told my daughter that they bill Aetna HMO and expected my college age daughter to know that they were NOT a participating provider. VERY deceptive practice to take advantage of a college student. They should have properly informed her so that Im not out hundreds of dollars for her diabetic eye exam... It is tough enough as a single parent affording diabetic care!! I didnt need to add this to my list.Shame on Oman Eye Care. We will not return, even if they decided to become a provider!!We would NEVER go outside insurance for something like this.I dont appreciate them not fully informing the patient, or myself, that they were not a participant of our insurance.
