Very nice clean place to shop for fish! The workers there are kind and friendly. The Axolotls are well taken care of despite how many there are. The babies are all so cute! Very clean waters for the other fish and lots of aquarium stuff to choose from!

Beautiful fish in very well-kept tanks! All plant-friendly fish had real plants in their tanks. No sick fish in sight. The sick fish are individually treated in the back room. The staff was very knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. They obviously care about their fish and other animals. The reptiles had fresh vegetables in their tanks. Their prices are similar to Uncle Bills, but their store is cleaner. The cichlids we bought were actually larger and cheaper than Uncle Bills. I love The Reef too, but it’s quite the drive from us. So glad we stopped by!

Lots of empty spots, all our overpriced fish we bought died within 24/48 hours, supplies are way over priced. They did have a cool display tank but thats it.

5 stars!! Every tank is crystal clear. Not a single dead fish in the store even in the feeder tank. All livestock is quarantined and treated as a preventative measure before being placed on the floor for sale. This place makes the reef, uncle bills, and petco look horrible. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Easy to find off the interstate. This place will have ALL my business going forward.

When it first opened, wasnt the greatest. Now the staff is friendly and prices are decent. Especially if you compare prices of feeder fish to Uncle Bills. They only have Guppies and Rosey Reds, which is fine for my needs.

My husband and I were looking for a filter and set up for a 75 gallon turtle tank and we werent sure what to get when the owner came up to us and asked if we needed help. He was very helpful in pointing us in the right direction and was very professional and kind. We will be returning for all our aquarium needs from now on! While new and still stocking, they already have such an impressive selection. Every tank is planted with live plants and no fake decor! Speaking of plants Ive never seen such a large selection.If you love this hobby and are thinking of getting into it please go here first. I wish they were around when I was getting into this hobby several years ago.Its not just fish. They do have many other live animals that are ready to join your family as well. No dog or cats yet to speak but, you never know what the future brings.I do apologize for such a gimmicky sounding review but, its the honest truth. and I have been starstruck by a beautiful aquarium shop.

My new Favorite Place! They have a great selection and helpful people. They know the aquarium hobby and explain tank cycling and everything. I have 6 aquariums now and I appreciate places like this that wont sell you the wrong fish or sell you a fish you are not ready for.

Knowledgeable staff. When something is not well known, they ask another worker for assistance. Very good in terms of work life.I didn’t get the employees name but he was a younger adult and was very knowledgeable about what my marine tank needed based on images and my descriptions. And he wasn’t the type of aquarium guy to brush off anything you’re saying, listened to every bit of info/but’s I had to give and provided good response.I’m off to dosing now; hoping to get my SPS coral back to their true colors, will be back later for sure when I finally get my larger tank! And perhaps before for some macro algae! In which they keep, more than the other stores in the city.I will more than likely support this store. A fair selection, and honest, and caring workers.

There fish look in amazing shape, the best color Ive seen on any fish in town. There always cleaning and maintaining the fish.

Indianapolis is a bit lacking in great aquarium shops, but this place blew me away. The staff is very friendly. The freshwater selection is superb (The saltwater is as well but I prefer fresh). I went in to find some fancy guppies, and I was not disappointed. They had every color I could think of and they were all gorgeous. There werent any dead fish like you see at the chain stores. They even put stress coat in the water for my fish when they bagged him up. Great selection of plants. Ill definitely be back!

Absolutely awful treatment of every single animal in the building. animals were forced into tiny plastic containers with no stimulation. the baby axolotls were barely even alive the conditions were so bad. awful business awful pet store awful people.DISGUSTING

First time there They had already locked door for closing. Very nice lady asked what I was getting I told her two fish and some accu clear for tank. She let me in. She definitely did not have to. I appreciated the above and beyond service. Was my first time here. Was so clean and well kept. They have a amazing selection of fish and small furry critters and birds. I highly recommend. They are so friendly and helpful to my wife and I and take time to educate us if we have questions. 🌈🌈 Also they are gay friendly no discrimination what so ever 🌈🌈The selection of fish is huge. A gorgeous pond in back. The selection of salt water things also nice. Little nemos everywhere loved it. ♥️♥️♥️Hands down amazing experience. The little furry critters are adorable as well. Been Three times so far every experience has been above and beyond service no matter how busy.

The people here are amazing. The knowledge they have over the animals in their care is outstanding. We got our bunny from them a year ago. She came to us pre-spoiled and socialized. We take her in from time to time and they still recognize her. We feel so welcomed whenever we go.

We had been looking for a decent aquarium store for several months and finally ventured out after finding them in a google search. We were familiar with the area, but never noticed them. What a gem! Clean, polite, friendly, knowledgeable! They helped us decide what to do next with our tank and recommended fish that would get along. Couldn’t be happier! So tired of the chain stores staffed with lazy teenagers or the independents that are unreliable, tired and dirty. Aquariums Plus is obviously family-owned and seem to take much pride in their store. They will have 100% of my business from now on. Please support and keep this great store going!

Very disappointed. Walked in and the man at the register interrupted his transaction to rudely tell me to put on a mask. Almost walked out and took my business somewhere else but didnt feel like extending my trip out today. Anyway the girl who helped me was nice but unfortunately I will not be returning, which is a bummer, because Id like to shop local especially during the pandemic.

I really enjoy going into the store. The prices are great compared to other pet stores. The guys there are very knowledgeable and are very patient with answering questions. They also have a great live plant selection. I recently purchased two discus at a great price and the staff was very patient with me to answer all the questions I had. First time adventuring into this cute fish, reptile, and rodent shop. They sell lots of accessories, birds, and aquatic plant life. The people were extremely friendly, and knowledgeable about their products. I immediately called my pet lover friends to ask if they have ever been there. I would highly recommend this place as all the pets seemed happy. Only saw one dead fish which is pretty good considering other pet shops. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because they need more time to organize, price, and arrange their products. I will be returning in the future.

I cant recommend this place enough! The store is very clean and organized and you can tell that they take care of their animals! Great selection of healthy, disease free plants and fish. Not sure if all fish do but some I know come from local breeders. Very knowledgeable staff. Would recommend any local place like this over a chain store. They maintain care of their fish tanks to keep healthy fish not dying diseased ones.

Did not care for the place prices were extremely high they had african cichlids (peacocks)they were all males in a small tank and they all looked beat up for 60 dollars a piece ridiculous would not recommend for some looking for a big selection or fair prices

First time visiting today. The owner was nice and very knowledgeable. They have the best Aquatic plant and freshwater fish selection on the Southside. Prices are better than everyone and the fish were all extremely healthy. This is the place to go for all your aquatic needs.I dont keep any reptiles or rodents any longer, but they all looked healthy and well cared for as well, especially the blue iguana. Gorgeous!

Went to look for a tank stand and as soon as I walked in was harrassed about not wearing a mask even though I cant wear one due to my severe asthma. I informed them of this and the 2 guys said they didnt care I had to have a mask. As I was leaving the postal carrier walked in with no mask. This discrimination has cost you my business this was my 1st time in your store and will be my last. Well mr owner if you have read the mandate which you havent by your comments that some health conditions are exempt from the mandate and asthma being one of them. I have been allowed in others stating same signs as you and have practiced social distancing to accommodate me not having a mask. I may be just 1 sale but word of mouth is still a very useful tool when promoting a business and btw 1 of your employees wasnt even wearing the mask properly so before you go attacking me again look in the mirror. I will also not put my health at risk either by wearing a mask that constricts my air flow and suffucates me in a matter of minutes.

Such an amazing set up! All of the different animal enclosures look really well prepared and clean. The owners are really helpful and friendly every time I have been in. Definitely my go to pet store for all my reptile needs.

This store is wonderful! They have a huge selection of fresh water plants that stay in water! This place is so much better than uncle Bills. They sell ro water for a great price. They have lots of really cool fish and can custom order. They try to go through local breeders for fish and they all looked healthy. The customer service is amazing! I will be back!

They have fish, snakes, lizards, little furry friends. The 2 guys who work there are so nice and take the time to help and explain things. I got fish after several had died and they helped me keep my new ones alive. It is definitely my new favorite fish and more place!!!!!

They were the only one who had Dubia roaches when everyone else were sold out.

The rodent animals-mice, rats, hamsters and rabbits do not have exercise wheels or much in the way of enrichment. Theyre freaking out and several rats were actively fighting. Petco and PetSmart do a better job than this. Seems the fish and reptiles were doing well though. Not going to shop here anytime soon.

Ive been hunting around Indianapolis for a decent Aquarium store for a few months now, and came across this quaint little gem from a Facebook mind reading suggestion. Ive had aquariums for a couple years now, and have been keeping cichlids for about 8 months, So I am pretty judgemental and particular about what Im seeing overall. Here is a simple pros and cons list about my experience.Pros-Its a small business and the owners seemed very knowledgeable.-Tanks were very clean and well kept-There was a good selection of plants/accessories-An impressive variety for a smaller store-The pricing on the fish and most other items I thought were fair and not overpriced-The Sulfurhead Peacock we purchased was one we hadnt seen anywhere else weve gone, and a very pretty healthy fish.Cons--The parking lot is odd and cut off at the end of the strip this store is at. Which is not the owners fault, just a small hassle-The store seemed understocked. But it could have been just before a delivery.Overall if youre looking for a new place for your aquarium or reptile hobbies, this place is definitely worth a look.
