We love this shop!! Linda & Teri have something for everyone! Beautiful quilt fabrics, a wool section that is like no other Ive seen, samples galore!! My sisters and I just took a wool class from resident instructor, Susie Simmons. She was a great teacher, well organized and informative and on top of all that she created a fun environment! Thanks Back Door for hosting Susies classes. I love love my wool lavendar plant!

They have a great wool collection and kits galore! A big beautiful classroom and classes of all sorts. Very impressed with samples and notice how they give more info on help attached right to the sample! Really great embroidery quilts too. If you appliqué or quilt. This is a must go to place.

They are always helpful and willing to share information. They have an amazing selection of fabric and patterns. It is just an amazing shop. Im very inexperienced and ask a lot of questions. They always help as best they can. Very knowledgeable and not afraid to help.

This store has anything you could ever want for quilting - fabric everywhere you look, thread, patterns, scissors... This place is filled to the brim with charming quilts and beautiful colors. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. If youre a quilter or know one, this place is essentially a paradise - dont miss it!

Large store with timely prints. If you like country quilts this is the store for you. Modern prints are limited. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Many displayed examples to spark our creative mind. The location is a little difficult to find as it is nestled in the middle of a strip mall off the main road. The store shares a wall with the childrens day care which I think should be the location of the ample supply of juvenile prints. Parking is convenient to the door.

Love this quilt shop! People are always friendly. All types of quality quilt fabric available, patterns, books, examples made up. When I am in the area it is a just stop shop!

I had an absolutely wonderful time in this shop. The Back Door has great choices of fabric for a variety of quilting styles and the staff was friendly and helpful. I went on a Saturday. Saturday night while I was petting the things I purchased, I realized I had picked up the wrong size hexagons for my English Paper Piecing Project. I went back on Sunday to exchange, not realizing the shop is only open on the first and third Sunday. The owner just happened to be in the shop and was incredibly gracious. She let me in, found the correct size hexagons (luckily the same price) and let me exchange them. Since I live 4 1/2 hours from the shop and was just in Indiana for the weekend, the courtesy shown me was immensely appreciated. I highly recommend a visit to the shop!

NEVER GOING BACK!!! Today was the last straw at this store. I have never really gotten the best service nor felt wanted there as a customer but I continued to go back because of their great selection of batik fabric. However, after today, even that won’t get me to come back nor will I send any of my friends or other quilters to this store. Here is my story of why I’ll NEVER be going back. Tonight, I went to the store looking for a specific fabric, so I was taking my time and they were pretty much ignoring me, which was just fine. But once I was ready to cut, it took a little while for them to even realize it, which was still fine. The women cut my fabric and ask for my name. I wasn’t really sure why she needed it but didn’t think much of it. I went to check out and no one was there. The women who previously cut my fabric was too busy cleaning to pay attention to the 4 customers in the store. She finally saw me after 5-10min and came to help me. As I was paying, I asked if they kept track of purchases to give reward/discount like most quilt shops do. I was pretty sure they did but it had been a while since I was in. She said yes and that’s why I got your name earlier. I asked if I could put a different name down as my mother and I always put our stuff together at every quilt shop where we have ever been. She got kind of huffy and said she didn’t know if she could do that and went to ask the other employee. The other woman was busy so she just came back. I explained how we have always done this and how I was pretty sure we had done it there. So she went into their record system (aka a pile of notecards) to look and see if my name was there but it wasn’t. I re-explained nicely how in the past my mother and I put them on the same card and I would like to do the same now. Her whole demeanor started to change and not in a good way. She was becoming very hostile. After more discussion, she finally agreed to put it on the same card. I simple ask to see her change the name on the card. I didn’t want it to be forgotten plus I could tell it didnt always get written down since the card only had a total of 11 yards which would be one trip from my mother and I shopping! (We been there at least 20 times and bought several yards each time.) I could tell she just saying yes to shut me up and so I would leave. I really didn’t think she would do it at this point. After I requested, she asked me if I was being serious because I was being completely rude not believing that she would do this. I said yes, I really want to see you write the name down. She pulled my mother’s card out and continued to call me rude several time and as she wrote down the yardage. I personally don’t think any position that is customer oriented like working in a quilt shop should EVER call a customer rude to their face especially when I really wasn’t being rude. I was polite but firm. If I had believed she was really being customer oriented, I would never have felt I needed to ask to see her write it down! So If you really want a good experience, friendly staff and a great selection go over to Fisher and hit up Quilt Expressions. It might be a 45min drive from where I live but thats where I’ll be going for now on. They have a better selection, better prices and most importantly, friendly, courteous staff.Word of wisdom…start training your employee. Calling a customer rude, no matter what the circumstances, is NEVER acceptable.

This store has a great selection of fabrics and patterns in my style. I was a little surprised though at some of the staff. Several phone calls were made and they were very loud - shouting back and forth across the store. I will definitely go back - - - as this is the closest quilt shop to our new retirement home in southern Indiana - - - but the staff noise was very distracting. OH, they are also open two Sundays a month and four nights a week.

My sister and I stopped over on the way to a retreat. The staff was very friendly and askind if we were looking for anything in particular. I said it was our first time there and the shop was really great. We got som wonderful fabric and my sister (sneaky) got me a gc from there for Christmas. We are stopping by tomorrow on our way to retreat. Love this place!
