Hands down best place to go for used games, movies and systems in Gresham.Now that CD GE went out of business this is my go too place.The prices on everything is great.They even buff discs.I refuse to spend any coin at places like GameStop.This place also gives the best in trade value.Very helpful employees. Very nice good honest down to earth people.If your looking for newer games or vintage, this is the place to go!

Retro Shark is an awesome game store! Im visiting from out of town and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We came in just needing a controller for our Playstation but the store had so much more than what we were expecting. We ended up with what we came for plus a good number of MTG cards we were wanting as well. Highly recommend them for Pokemon, Magic, D&D, board games, and whatever else you might need gaming related. Wish this place was in my town!

Only one person so checkout is slow. Really cool to see older games. Inventory is not super huge for some particular console games. Call ahead for inventory since I called about a few particular games only 3 days ago and they were gone.

I really like what they’ve done with the place. It’s very open and has tables available for tabletop gaming. This is something the Gresham community needs to maintain. I’m happy to see they are providing this.

This place is great, they have retro games for reasonable prices and now I might consider coming here instead of GameStop all the time, oh and not to mention that the employees there are super nice and helpful. So consider going here for retro games I promise you it’ll be a decision you won’t regret.P.S I wish they had more DS games but I understand that they’re still getting more games and probably not done with moving everything, but that’s what makes me even more excited to see what new games they got the next time I visit the place

Great shop. My son loves coming here for some of the more retro games. Its awesome that my 9 year old is so into the games that came out when I was his age. Will definitely be back.

Fun spot with better prices than a lot of retro game stores in the area. On top of that the GBA section had some great finds, and everyone there was super friendly.

The gentleman working the counter was absolutely amazing. Took time to help me with everything I needed and wanted. Even laughed and and some fun and delightful conversation with me. I will 100% be going back 😁😁😁

Shrike was very helpful with setting me up with a retro game console and explaining how everything works.

This place was so cool. it had a bunch of old console games, ranging back to the NES and original PlayStaion and Xbox. Shrike was really nice and helpful with searching up the games i was wondering if they had them. they also put two games i wanted to get, because i had said i already have those games, i just wanted to get new copies of them so i can actually play them, so they said that they could put them off the the side because they have $2 disc buffings. I will definitely be returning. also, shrike had an awesome shirt.

Well I was stoked to drive out n check out this retro shark game store, and I was pretty disappointed… I first came across GameStar by accident months n months ago. Popped in and had a fantastic experience. I wasn’t aware that they closed down and reopened under a new name [probably new ownership too]. So I made the trip. First the inventory has been severely reduced / picked through and now what remains is a ton of outdated sports games and old filler generic titles. They have a small case of “rare” games that are all priced according to eBay. Then there’s a small console case. The employees weren’t very engaging, which is ok, but very different from my last visit to GameStar. I have co-managed a major game store for a few years; so I’m not only speaking from a customer’s perspective.The last thing I wanted to mention in this review is the fact that retroshark tends to force bundle the harder to find stuff…which is very frustrating. It is a HUGE turn off to force a customer, coming into your store to purchase this way! It’s greedy. If I wanted to pay top dollar and be force bundled - I would’ve just logged onto eBay. 👎🏾After today’s experience and seeing what the new shop turned out like, I probably won’t be back. Which is unfortunate because I have always been one to support my local game shops, and enjoy building long lasting relationships with the shop & staff through regular business or events; not to mention turning people onto them. 👎🏾

I go here all the time, the prices are good and the service is friendly. My only issue is that their stock depletes almost as fast as they buy it, making regular visits a must to get the best items.

Great customer service! The guy working there was really chill and was dealing with a somewhat difficult customer when I came in, but he handled it really well the whole time.The selection was a little low end, I do find that the pricing makes up for it though. I left with two games for gifts that were well packaged and look almost brand new. I plan to come back🙌💫✨

Phenomenal service, I went in to get a PS2 and Guitar Hero. I came out with the PS2, a memory card, all of the guitar hero games released in the PS2 and Spyro and an extra controller. All for a great price. The Manager was extremely helpful and we had some great conversations while my games were buffering. All in all a 5 star experience, will be back again.

Pretty good deal on trades plus they trade for games that most other places wouldnt which makes them extremely useful to me since I dont like the newer games

They have a decent selection of game consoles, from Sega Dreamcast, to PS2, GC and OG Xbox titles, up to current gen; PS4, Xbox one. As well as the games to match.

This place was absolutely awesome! So much cool nastalgic stuff. Old consoles old games movies. Magic the gathering stuff galore. Booster packs from all the way back 15 years ago. Great prices on all the boosters they were cheaper or the same price as Amazon. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone that enjoys magic or any kind of games. I cannot stress enough that the staff was friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable.

Its a good store but there is a blond Lady that just gives me bad vibes she asks you if you need help with anything and you say nicely no she gives you like a ok then remark but when she not therethe store is great I mean her attitude just makes me not want to bye anything from her plus every game I bought from her I always had to give it back

Best used games store around Gresham

Without a doubt one of the best experiences Ive had with a store period! My children and I stopped in on a whim and were curious about some games and a console. The representatives they had were excellent in explaining all of the details of a certain game my children were interested in, and explained to them both how each worked on their individual consoles. There was a slight mix-up in compatibility, but they were amazing at solving our problem and will now be our familys go to store for games! You guys rock!

Have you ever needed some obscure accessory for your old console? I had just about given up, and then I walked into GameStar in Gresham. The polite and knowledgeable young person behind the counter made sure that I knew what the equipment would and would not do for me, then produced one from the counter display case! Excellent service, excellent price, I just found my new home for video games and accessories.

Went in and bought a few games. The guy who rang me up saved me from wasting money by telling me that one of my games was an online only game. Had he not told me I wouldnt have been able to return it for my full money and it was pretty expensive. I appreciate the honesty and him not trying to just make a sale. I will definitely be going back. They also have a lot of older console controller and cords. Nice selection of older games too. More than I expected seen anywhere else.

All last gen games are at great prices and their ps4 games are amazingly priced too.

A real meh vibe all around. the store itself is great, but the to girls (a short stocky rude blonde? And some up tight entitled red head) just chatted with each other the whole time i was in and didnt even ask if i needed anything.

A good place to go for games, mostly classic systems. The prices are on the higher ebay pricing, but they usually have some hard to find items. Staff is always nice and knowledgeable. Even with the higher general prices, u can still usually find a deal or two.

They ALWAYS NEVER have cash trades for games. Literally ALWAYS. Why advertise it when you NEVER have CASH for game trade in? Doesnt make sense as they never know when theyll ever do cash for game trades & its been like that for quite some time. At least remove the cash portion out of your store as its never available.

I was at this location today 6/15/18 at 6:10 PM and the woman working had the worst attitude Ive seen in a very long time. After getting a game for me to purchase I noticed it had a 1/4 crack in it. She told me it was fine as they put a sticker on the other side to hold it? Really?? As Im looking at the crack she says, so you know, if you crack it more by looking Im going to charge you for it. I wasnt bending it or anything. Simply looking at a cracked game they were still trying to sell. After asking for a manager she simply points at a sign on the wall with a name. I will not be coming back ever! Poor experience for me and my children.

So yesterday I came into the store in Gresham to trade some games for credit to purchase another game. I come home and try to play the game the next day and the game doesnt even work so I come into the store. This employee Lea or Dea starts off with an attitude right away and tells me that I scratched up the disc. I was pretty confused to why she would stand there and try and argue with me and not take the game back. She was very soft spoken with an entiltled little attitude to me for no reason. I just kept trying to be polite even though I was losing my patience. She finally gives me the credit back on my account so before I can go look for a different game to get, I ask if I can trade in a couple of other games for cash or credit and she rudely tells me no because all the games/bluray I had were scratched up. She didnt even look at them and I come into the store pretty often with games that are in great condition when I trade them in and have never been treated this way ever. I told her the way shes treating me is very unfair and that I would like to speak to her manager or someone higher up. She refused to give me her name, nor the managers or anyone elses numbers which now I understand were their personal cell numbers. But she was just extremely snobbyy and kept telling me to leave then called the police on me, telling them that some Hispanic is here freaking out and wont leave her store. while I(Filipino btw lol) stood there baffled with my fiance and son. This whole thing got blown out of proportion and it was embarassing that my son had to see me being treated that way I talked to the cops and I just realized by then Im not gonna get anything out of this and gave up. I dont think someone like that should be working there. Like I said before, I come in pretty often and have never been treated that way ever. I know this is probably a waste of time and Im not going to get anything out of this but I feel like people should know about this employee and they do something about her.
