I took my vehicle in today to have a coolant leak looked at (dripping antifreeze). I dropped it off at 1130 and by 230 Sam called me to pick it up. It ended up being a very simple fix - they tightened a hose and topped off my coolant. Sam did not charge me one cent for this. He could have easily charged me a partial hour for labor (pressure check the radiator and adjusting the hose) and to top off the coolant - which I would have been very happy to pay for. Sam runs a very honest shop and is not out to nickle and dime his customers to death. Will recommend this shop and will definitely return for any other maintenance needs I have.

Sam and his team do awesome work! They have helped me out of several tough situations with my car. Turnaround time is always speedy and their fees have been excellent. Will be taking my vehicles to them for all future repairs!

I am new to the Eastside. Looking for a family garage to fix my vehicle. Read allot of reviews and decided to give them a shot. Sam and his team are very professional and friendly. I had front end done a few months ago and no problems. Sam explained what was wrong and showed me everything that was replaced. Its nice to have confidence in your mechanics. Took my Focus ST here to have my winter tires put on and have them replace all four rotors and pads. Was able to bring my own parts which is awesome, and got a great price. Install was fast and professional and the new breaks feel great. Ill definitely be coming back for any work that I may need done in the future. Thanks for being awesome, you guys are great!

Absolutely thrilled with the service and professional interactions here. We moved my daughter to Detroit and needed an oil change. Selected Mack based on review here. They recommended additional work (needed on a 20-year old vehicle) and their price was very fair. They avoided doing another item that we authorized but said wasnt needed.Its good to run across an auto shop like this when a dad like me has a daughter 800 miles away. I wont bring my car anywhere else. I live in Sterling Heights and coming to Sam and his crew is worth the drive for me. Hes honest, gives a great price, and has a fast turnaround. My car needed all four struts and he told me to have just the front done and eventually come back to have the rear ones. When I did a few weeks ago, Mike noticed I needed to replace my front passenger tire, and Matt discovered after I had left the front driver tire needed to be replaced, as well. When I came back the next day, thinking I could go somewhere close to replace them, Sam said I may need to come back on Monday because that would be when the tires would come because he needed to order them. He managed to get them that same day (ready in less than 30 minutes!) so Mike immediately took my car to Mack 2 (on Mack and Fisher) and Matt replaced my tires. I had my car back in the lot in less than an hour and Sam gave me a great, fair price. What I especially love about coming here is his lot is always full, everyone is always busy, but they always take the time to listen to your concerns, answer any questions you may have, take a look at the problem on the spot, and Sam never hesitates to make the time to do the necessary repairs. I always call him or Matt ahead of time so they know I need to come in, or I just stop by real quick if Im in the area, but regardless of how much work they have to do, it is never too much to where they cant get you in and back on the road. Sam was also a Godsend when it came to my last car when I needed a/c work and urgently needed to replace my starter, giving great prices that no other shop would had given me. I always went to Matt because he does amazing, honest work, but I couldnt had possibly done it without Sam. I recommend him and his mechanics to just about everybody. Everybody at both shops are so friendly, respectful, and personable that you cant help but feel at ease while there.

I had read all the excellent reviews before taking my car to Mack Auto Center and they certainly didn’t disappoint; they are professional, honest and reasonable. The service was shockingly timely and the charges were even a little lower than the low end of my online research for the service I needed. I will be taking my vehicle there for any and all future repair needs.

Had an air suspension problem which was promptly and accurately diagnosed, and repair options provided with their pros and cons. Through check done for other potential problems, which were also accurately diagnosed and corrected. All repair costs were very competitive. Sam and Derrick were both very easy, honest and forthcoming to work with. Would highly recommend to anyone with auto problems.

Very nice. I brought my car in for the brakes and power steering. They quoted me for the brake repair and the power steering. I decided to have the brakes done and to wait on the power steering. I brought the car in a little before noon I believe, and got a call that afternoon because the car was ready. The cost was lower than I expected, and the car drives great! I will definitely be going back for the power steering.

The owner really believes in going above and beyond to do right by his customers. Exhibits a level of service that is difficult to find in businesses today. I needed to get two cars repaired and he helped coordinate trading out the cars while waiting on parts so my wife and I had minimal time with only one car. Easily cut a week off of our overall service time. Will not be going anywhere else as long as I live here!

I would give Mack Auto Center, and Sam and Dereck a hundred stars if I could!!!! Today my car did not turn on (and I had my young child inside, sick). Sam came immediately, turned it on. Drove to his Center and in 5 min I was ready to go.. He also offered cookies, candies, water, lemonade to my son to help him feel better. This is not the first time I’ve been there, but every time I need my car to be fixed I have no dubs this is the best place in my area. Sam always comes with affordable prices, Dereck does an excellent job, and I know my car is in good hands.

It is hard to find an honest and fair mechanic but look no further than Sam and his staff at Mack Auto Center! This is my second time patronizing this company and once again I’m satisfied with the results. I love that he gives you a full inspection but isn’t pushy about getting the work done. Ive used Mack Auto Center for several years. The service was great. Sam is very professional. Hell assess your vehicles issues and give you a very fair repair estimate. Hell recommend what must get fixed and what can wait. His repair costs were always very fair and reasonable. He works with you to make sure all part warranties are taken into account. I never felt that I overpaid. I had two vehicles that had 130k and 168k miles. I definitely recommend Mack Auto Center.

A few weeks back when my SUV battery had died due to extreme cold weather, Sam sent one of his assistants to jump start my vehicle in my driveway. I took the vehicle into their shop and the battery was replaced promptly the next day (had to be ordered). Sams assistant drove me back home and picked me up the next day to get my vehicle. Top notch service. I recommend their service to anyone.

Excellent work. Repaired my air conditioner in my car. Many panels had to be removed to access the part that was broken. These guys did it all. And they repaired one of the vents that was punched in and cleaned out the inside so the air was clean again.

Ive been taking my car to Sam for years (even before this Auto Center was open). He and his staff always provide great customer service, great explanations of what needs to be done and transparent fair pricing. He also has an oil change shop on the east side of Mack (close to Fisher) and a now a new full auto repair shop across the street on the west side of Mack (formerly Mike on Mack). Highly recommend!

On Thanksgiving holiday from Chicago in our Chrysler Town and Country. Check Engine light came on Thursday night. The local Chrysler dealer wouldnt look at it until Monday. The owner Sam is one of the most honest people you will meet and all the people that work there are very friendly! I came to Mack Auto Center after a very scary estimate at another shop. Sam immediately made me feel comfortable and explained how he could help. He prioritized the safety hazards and provided me with a price that I could work with as a student. I knew he was providing me with reliable parts at a lower cost than any of the other shops in the area. My vehicle was in significantly better shape within two business days. We went through the parts that had been in my vehicle and he explained what was wrong with each one. Furthermore, the price we discussed was the exact price that I paid, not a cent more. All of his shops-including Matthew at the Mack Lube Center-are helpful and extremely trustworthy.

Everything has been great. They are knowledgeable and honest. The prices are fair and best of all the work is done well and on time. I think one of the parts they just replaced on my car, might be failing already, but I am confident when I talk to Sam, he will make it right. What are you going to do, after market parts do not always work even if you get the best. I will update my review if anything changes, but so far I have been extremely pleased (outside of the fact it sucks paying to get your car fixed) with the 3 times I have used their services. I will be sure to update my review if anything changes on my next visit.

Had my Jeep serviced here, was completely dead, tried all the YouTube fixes but the work was above my pay grade, called at 10:30 AM told them the issue that I was having...towed at 11:30, had my car back and on the road by 4:30...fair price, nice people that work there....would recommend, and will be using them again in the future

Always a quick accurate diagnosis with repairs done at a fair price

The mechanic Matthew admitted to putting the wrong part in my car resulting in a blown head gasket. The owners refused to give me a refund on the work, the estimated cost to fix the damage is around $1600. This is after spending a total of $2100 in repairs with them already. Avoid using this company. In my opinion, nobody is perfect, everyone makes mistakes, its how you handle those mistakes is what matters most. They were given the opportunity to fix the problem but they refused. I guess the money is more important than their reputation.

Great service. They try to get to the root of problem at a reasonable cost and help out the customer. Friendly staff who explain what they are doing before doing it and very knowledgeable.

I traveled an hour and 20 minutes to buy a car from him. I trusted it was in good shape with all the good reviews he got. I paid way more than what this vehicle is worth. Im a single mother of 2 and gave him all I had hoping that i wouldnt have to put anymore money into it. Turns out Ive had to replace the struts, it needs new tires all around, it needs a new axle, and now the heat doesnt work. Me and my children get to freeze when were in the car now. These are all pretty expensive repairs that i cannot afford! Once again being a young female has caused me to get screwed over again. 😭😭😭

So I took my car in and told them cylinder 5 was misfiring on my Buick, thanks to my handy OBD tool. The mechanic told me no, its a random misfire on all cylinders, and he was 100 percent sure changing the spark plugs and wires would fix it. I was relieved! After changing them, it had exactly the same problem. Then, the owner tells me if I sign the car over to him, he wouldnt charge me! What a deal. I admire theyre money-making skills, but I certainly cant recommend them.

I cannot express enough how much these guys have saved my car and me. Sam is smart, personable and friendly, so are the mechanics Mike and Derik. When mentioning to my mom how great they are and them wanting me to see the old parts and how bad they were, then new parts installed to even picking me up and dropping me off at home because its my only car, she said They love what they do! She nailed it and because of that and more, I know they are the best mechanics and Sams the best owner in the area. Will be telling everyone I know about them. Some, seeing my old car and that I am still driving it are surprised. Me, I am just elated. I have my car back. Thank you guys, will see you soon for the oil change and fluid checks. UPDATE: First, I guess I never posted this as public, which was over a year ago, so I posted it a bit ago.I am glad I have the opportunity to revise this. I still take my car there, they are still as adamant about their work, as they always have been, and stand by it. They are extremely patient with me, when sometimes I just show up out of the blue! Mike and Derik always say Hi Patty while working in the bays. That is why I have to update, because it gets better! In Nov. of this past year, I had some repair done, finding an alternator issue in addition to the repair I went in for, I asked Sam if I could make payments toward the whole bill, because I am on a fixed income. He was happy to agree to that. Due to some health issues over the winter and some personal family issues, I had only made only one payment. We had talked back and forth during that time, Sam saying to not worry and pay him when I could. Who does that now a days? Finally, I went in at the end of APRIL! I told Sam I wanted to pay towards the invoice, he asked me how much, I got my checkbook out to see and told him an amount. Having other bills during the winter, I was happy he was gracious enough to still extend the payments. He then told me, this is your balance....He had printed out the invoice, with my first payment deducted and then attached a receipt to it that had a zero balance and written on it Paid in Full by Sam. With tears in my eyes, I could not have been more relieved and feeling blessed. Sam asked if they were happy tears, I said of course. If you take your car in, know that you will get a fair price on the excellent quality of work they perform. My car is old, it has needed some major repairs and some maintenance on it, each and every time the price has been unbelievably fair and as a repeat customer, Sam goes out of his way to find the best price on parts for his customers. Every time I go in there, I hear Sam, Mike or Derik, treating their customers with the utmost respect. That is hard to find these days.

They put a timing belt kit in my Honda pilot and then put the wrong thermostat in my vehicle and now both of head gaskets are blown and they wont fix it . They dont even call you back and give you a update on your vehicle . I had to call them so many times an ask them whats going on with my vehicle. I will never ever take my vehicles back there again.
