If I could give more stars I would! Page Hardware is a Guilford treasure! Not only do they always have exactly what you need but they have an abundance of knowledgeable staff who are always happy to help. In my opinion the best part of Pages is their top notch appliance department. Jim Blair and his knowledgeable colleagues go above and beyond and are extremely knowledgeable in any appliance question you may have. Most appliance salesman are so quick to sell you something without looking at your true need. Pages is the furthest from that! If you need an appliance I highly recommend Jim Blair and staff! You won’t be disappointed!

The best hardware store east of the Mississippi. Lots of assistance always available. Good lighting, well stocked, with that old fashion feel. Always a fun worthwhile stop even if not in need of anything specific.

This is a terrific hardware store that I have been using since the 70s. They are associated with a major chain, now, but that has not detracted in any way from the high level of personal service for which they are well known.

My wife and I recently stopped by Page Appliance with the intent of purchasing a new refrigerator. Our refrigerator has been freezing items in the refrigerator section for some time, even after we turned the temperature down.My wife was concerned that with the long lead times for some refrigerators, ours would die and we would be forced to buy something.We have done business with Page Appliance for some time and the salesman we work with is Michael Brooks. We told Michael what was going on with our refrigerator. He asked a few questions about the operation of the refrigerator and did something out of the ordinary, he said before I sell you a new refrigerator, go home and do a complete defrost, by unplugging the unit. He thought that since we had the refrigerator for 14 years and we could not remember the last time we had done one, he felt there was ice build up in the duct system from the freezer to the refrigerator.We did this on Monday for 12 hours, cleaned out the defrost pan, that was full and plugged it back. I am happy to say that the refrigerator is working like new . A simple process saved us thousands of dollars, because our salesman shared some of his knowledge. Thanks Michael.We did

Incredibly friendly and helpful staff! I had a big paint order there and the man working the paint station was incredibly helpful in walking through the finishes I’d want and even helped bring my paint not only to the register, but also out to my car! I know I’ll be back at Page’s for future paint and hardware needs!

They have the friendliest sales people on the planet. In addition to hardware and tools, we buy all our appliances from them.

Always great. Someone is always waiting to help and the cashier on the side we enter through always remembers us and what projects we have going on.

Pages is a great place to buy hardware and tools. I got burned on an appliance from them, so I would not return for an appliance. Six years ago, I bought a washing machine and it was discovered upon deliver that the lid was bent. I was promised a new lid and after a few months going back and forth, it was determined that they could not get a lid for me. Four years of placing a heavy brick on the lid in order to use it convinced me to buy appliances elsewhere. In hind sight, I should have rejected the delivery but I trusted them. I still buy tools and hardware. The store is well stocked.... update 12/22/20. The last appliance my Dad purchased was a stove top..last night we called the fire department...very poor installation. Thanks Again Pages !

We bought a dish washer and the professional install service. We were very pleased with the purchase process, never were we upsold beyond what we needed. The delivery and install was top notch, we will be visiting them again soon!

The review was written in frustration and anger (neither of which was the fault of Page Hardware or its employees) and I never should have posted it. That review does not reflect my current thoughts or feelings about Page Hardware in any way. The employees of Page went out of their way to be respectful, professional, and helpful when faced with my intransigence, unpleasantness, and accusatory statements. I have apologized to them in private, and here I apologize to them in public. I completely believe that there was no attempt on the part of Page Hardware or its employees to use a bait and switch or other sales tactic designed to take advantage of me, and I repudiate and take back my accusations.It is important to note that I have received nothing from Page Hardware or its employees, and nothing has been offered, to induce me to change my review. IF YOU WORKED FOR A STORE THAT SOLD A PRODUCT LIKE THIS, COULD YOU SLEEP AT NIGHT?About seven years ago I paid about $1,000 for a Weber Genesis stainless steel grill. It worked well, and I took good care of it. I bought a special cover to protect it from the weather. The outside always looked great, and I didnt pay much attention to the inside. Then I started looking carefully.What I realized was that the outside was made of stainless steel, but the inside was made of cheap metal that would rust and fall apart – regardless of how much protection it was given. I was astounded.I spoke with a staff member at Page Hardware -- I worked my way up three levels in the chain of command. He told me that there was nothing they could do. I would need to take it up with Weber, and he offered no help or guidance on how to do that. I was on my own.Page Hardware gets a number of five-star reviews. People like their friendly staff, and their cute products. But I asked myself: If I worked for a store that sold a product like this and then failed to stand behind it, could I sleep at night? The answer was, No. So I decided to post this review to warn others.If youre looking for a cute tea towel and like the hometown feel of the store, then this is the place for you. But if youre considering buying an expensive product -- and youre relying on them to stand behind it -- you need to ask yourself a question: DO I FEEL LUCKY? Because if youre not lucky, youll be on your own.

Best hardware store on the shoreline! Excellent products, exceptional customer service. Its been in business, under the same roof in Guilford for over 75 years and theres a good reason for that...because its an awesome store. Get there and check it out!

I felt safe. Employees and customers did their best to observe spacing. More directional arrows are needed in the aisles. Sometimes I went the wrong way. Try placing arrows at both ends of aisles. I was fortunate to walk right in. I observed a long customer waiting line when exiting to the rear lot. Whenever possible, I will call in advance for curbside pickup, to reduce lines. I suggest others do, also. Pages is going above and beyond to serve the community. Having lived in Guilford 35+ years, I appreciate Pages efforts to optimize the customer experience

I’ve been a customer, for over 30 years and your curb side pickup is archaic!If someone has to order something and doesnt’ know how to describe it, how do they use your service. Or, if they go there and have someone who is incompetent they can’t get what they want.I had to go to another store, which had one that you could enter. Everyone had a mask and gloves and distancing was followed. There was someone to help me and I obtained what I wanted.After experiencing your curb side service for the second time, I know not to go back to your store, if I need service.I’m sure I’m not alone in my opinion.

There were substantially less pages than I had anticipated but the rest of the store was awesome.

This is a wonderful family business that is a member of the community. We love going in here because there are always several people who ask you if they can help you. Any question you have, they or someone there can answer. The customer service is impeccable! The other amazing thing is the amount of items they have in stock. Most things you need for your household projects can be gotten here without having to drive a distance and support the big box stores. Check here first and support local.Some fun things about the store. At Christmas you can mail a letter to Santa here and he’ll write back. There are also hot cookies coming out of the oven on many occasions, especially on the weekend. Kids can search for Finn the shark and get a candy or small prize at the service desk in the back. There’s a fairy garden and mailbox where you can write to the fairies and find a reply on your next visit.I also forgot to mention they are one of the places in town with an excellent selection of local items like Guilford ornaments, mugs, towels, shirts, coasters, etc.

GOOD PSA!!: Check prices here 1st if you need a spare car key that has a chip. At first I thought their price was too much, and then I went to my dealership and my jaw dropped when they told me how much they charged. It took maybe 15 minutes to program it.Several generations of my family have been frequent customers for many years :)Some things can be pricier, other things cheaper. Check for sales!! Sometimes their sales on high quality items beat out other large garden/hardware shops, such as their mulches.

I love having a hometown hardware store to go to. Nice to have someone to bounce ideas off of and share project updates with.

Every time I go there, I leave with a smile. There employees are knowledgeable and always eager to help. They go above and beyond. They have just about everything you could want from an old style hardware store including exceptional customer service.

The service provided by the staff is second to none. Really. Andrew Page clearly insists upon unequaled customer attention - bringing the result of _every_ _single_ _person_ asking if they can help you as soon as you are seen. At some point it becomes overbearing, though it is all genuine.However, as long as credit chip terminals have been around, the instantaneous verbal prompts for the next step to complete are more than pedantic, theyre downright demeaning. A modicum of common sense and practicality would be a tremendous advance.

I just moved to Guilford 2 days ago. I had been by the store a number of times during the day for work. I needed a few things to help hang pictured and the like. I was in the store amazed at all the items they carried. Many hardware stores carry tons of items that Lowes and Home Depot dont bother carrying. This place was no exception but the customer service was absolutely exceptional. In my 25-30 minute walk around the place I had 7 people ask me if I needed any help. I only needed help finding the picture hanging items which the woman found in 30 seconds time, but with so many people asking if I needed help was amazing. Lowes and Home Depot need to one here and find out what real customer service is because those places are absolutely useless for customer service. Those big box stores dont train their staff in any real capacity when Page True Value are nothing but polite, knowledgeable about products, and where the products are located. This will certainly be my go to hardware store while I spend many years in Guilford.

I stopped in to look at some options for a large renovation project. I asked my husband to meet me in a few hours to review some choices after my hair appointment.However, the creepy owner took pictures of my car in the parking lot. I had to call my husband to come and get me.We will be shopping for our renovation project elsewhere!!

I purchased a lawn mower, among other things, and have been very happy with everything. Pages takes care of its customers and is an important part of what makes Guilford a special place. It combines a sense of community pride and history with the latest products and technology and I would always choose it over a chain store.

Had to get another gallon of paint for my daughter. Thought I had all the information, but Damien at Page hardware knew I was missing something. I took the paint home and my daughter knew immediately I missed the added tint. When I got back to Page they were closing up, but Theresa let me in and Justin fixed the paint problem, all with a smile. Support your local businesses, you cant get service like that at Walmart!
