Ive been traveling the USA and this diner was the best diner Ive ever been to. It was clean, was well staffed with friendly people, the menu was filled with vegetarian, vegan, gluten free options where everything was listed to accommodate allergies. The decor was vintage style with a modern twist and their music playlist was excellent. Please do yourself the pleasure of eating here to make your road trip complete.
I had the Spanakopita (which comes with one of the best Greek salad I have ever had), and a Vegan Chocolate Tart. Both were amazing! Shoreline Diner is a perfectly designed retro gleaming diner. It is as clean as a whistle and the way staff is attentive and knowledgeable about the vegan offerings. I will return again and again.
The waiter my friend and i had (will) should get a raise. He is the best.

Randomly stopped here because I was hungry, which turned out to be a great choice as the food turned out excellent. These guys know what they are doing. Burger, fries & sausage were all cooked to perfection. Highly recommended!!
We enjoyed our meal very much. Traffic on 95 was moving slow and this caught our eye while searching to stop for lunch. We had a super salad - goat cheese, kale, strawberries and walnuts, the strawberry french toast, and the pesto chicken sandwich. Yes lunch was a tad more expensive than a regular diner, but the food was fresh, tasty and decent portions. It was worth it.

Absolutely delicious. A step up from typical diner fare. Ingredients are very fresh, homemade, and outstanding. The Shireline Diner is an absolute favorite of ours and a must for locals and tourists alike.

Shoreline is a great combination of traditional bacon and eggs AND a true vegan menu of interesting choices for those who follow this diet. Every single one of the waitstaff is friendly and pleasant, all very aware of any food allergies or sensitivities, and very accommodating. Yes, it is a little more expensive than your traditional diner, but the food is such better quality that I consider it a good value. Recommended.
Had plenty of leftovers of delicious perfectly prepared food, including amazing desserts, so you are really paying for two meals in one, which makes it more affordable. So nice to have so many safe gluten free options. Terrific service as well. Fries are just as good the second day!

Excellent food and service. Flavors were leaps and bounds above the expectations of average diner food. Pasta was cooked perfectly. Quesadillas were loaded with well balanced fresh ingredients. 5/5 would dine again.
When traveling from NJ to MA to see friends or family, the Shoreline diner is always a must stop. Better than your typical NJ diner, they have plenty of good vegetarian and vegan options. Service has always been great too.

This used to be THE BEST! We ordered burgers for delivery for years.Last night was the last straw.We ordered dinners for four of us.My pesto mozzarella sandwich had no moz. One burger missing. One order fries missing. Everything cold. So sad.

Best breakfast in Guilford hands down. My co workers and I are religious when it comes to our Saturday breakfast delivery and we’ve yet to be disappointed. The food is always perfect. Comes hot. Nothing is ever missing. And the gentleman who delivers it to us is friendly and fast! Amazing tasting homefries, my favorite breakfast item. And their breakfast plates have all the flavor with none of the added grease pooled at the bottom of your plate

Your basic diner decor and menu but with high quality ingredients. My husbands burger was served on a delicious brioche bun and the thick cut fries that came with it were excellent.
I don’t know if this place is under new management it use to be good and now it’s terrible. The food was cold we ordered pancakes and eggs and coffee the bill was 28 dollars. The eggs were ice cold i called over the waitress and rather than her saying I’m sorry can I get you a new one or take it off the bill her response was well it’s busy. Terrible customer service and awful food do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

This place was such a major disappointment. As a vegetarian, its often difficult to find meals that are good and available at restaurants. My roommate is a vegan and she has more luck finding stuff. Vegetarians, not so much. So imagine my delight when I saw this old fashioned diner, which also claimed it was a vegetarian Enclave [ see the picture of their sign below] boasting of a separate vegetarian menu. I was so excited. So we drove almost an hour. They dont have a vegetarian menu AT ALL, separate or included. They do have a couple vegan options- which is great, but I didnt want vegan I wanted vegetarian. Not one vegetarian meal, unless of course you count the grilled cheese. I spoke with the wait staff, and they were nonchalant and unconcerned. No suggestions or chat with the cook to see if he could whip something up, seeing how it was supposed to be a vegetarian restaurant, youd think they could do something . So frustrating, so we left.
We have been getting take out and delivery from Shoreline Diner for months and food quality and taste has been exceptional. While it’s more expensive than a typical diner, you get what you pay for here and consistently.
My whole family loves Shoreline Dinner. I love the fact that their vegan options are just as tasty as their omnivore dishes. Its so easy that theyre something for everyone. The menu is so thorough in noting which dishes are gluten free, vegetarian, or vegan. I do wish they would add one of the plant based burgers like impossible or beyond burger. I know theyre a nutritional splurge, but occasionally one wants something different than a veggie burger.

I havent been here in well over a decade but go to their sister diner in West Haven regularly. I love the vegan Southwest tofu hash!whether you are vegan or not, this breakfast is amazing! So flavorful, delicious, and filling!!
Extremely fresh and well prepared, tasty food. If you like french fries, you really need to try these. Outstanding. They dont kill you with portion size, which suits me just fine. You walk out satisfied, not stuffed to the gills. Prices are very reasonable overall.

I dont review much anymore but when I do its important. Soup to nuts - pun intended - the best dining experience I have enjoyed in some time. Alyssa was the centerpiece of a fabulous -- professional, polished with personal warmth -- first time at Shoreline. You never forget your first! ;)From busser to runner to front-of-house and no doubt kitchen, kudos. Food was a touch heavy on added salt but otherwise the best veggie options and tastiest ingredients. ME WANT that veggie burger patty recipe:) Thanks, Alyssa et. al. Amazing food, courteous staff, and a spacious diner. We typically go to Georgies, but the food at Shoreline is just as delicious. Highly recommended.
2 hours and 15 minutes waiting on a omelette and still a no show when it’s like a half mile up street never again will i go there
Popped by here on my way from an appointment because this place was so close by- didnt expect much but I was pleasantly surprised! I ordered the brutus burger and it was all you could ever want in a burger. Juicy, flavorful, fresh. I will be visiting again to try other items.
Sister diner of Giorgies in West Haven doesnt disappoint. Food is excellent doesnt matter what meal, impeccable clean and friendly place. Wholeheartedly recommend.
Great options for vegan dishes
I celebrated my PhD this evening in this fine place. happy to tell that it was a outstanding evening and the place was indeed one of the reasons for that strong evening. The waiters collaborated in a graceful manner, the cooking was very good and my buddies were so happy. We shall surely return for more events. Thank you very much.
This place is a must-try! I ordered the vegan tempeh wrap online. Not only was it delicious, but also ready in about 5 minutes (online it said that the order would be ready in 15). Staff is really friendly as well!
Shoreline Diner is really worth a visit. Whatever you do, don’t get scared or putt-off by the “vegetarian enclave” It has some of the best burgers around and a wide variety of diner food...which most of us know is not vegetarian. While I am not a vegetarian, Shoreline does have a good decent vegetarian menu.Great home-, and hand-made burgers (read about the mix of beef they use on their website), outstanding fries, and a variety of beverages (try the home-made lemonade!). Excellent Greek cuisine, too.It’s one of my new favorites when I’m in the Guilford, CT area.For a diner: definitely five stars!
The Mayas French toast sounded so wonderful that I ordered it. It was decadent and delicious. I ate every bite. Cooked to perfection. Beautifully presented. Lovely fruit garnish. Wait staff friendly and competent. Service is quick. Restaurant is spacious, clean, and bright. Convenient to the entrance to I-95 so great for travelers.
I love this diner. Whenever we drive down to NY or NJ, we stop here for brunch. They use real maple syrup and whipped cream. Only thing I would recommend changing is the price of milk. One glass costs the same as a gallon. Other than that, great place to eat!
Shoreline Diner is one of my da favorite places to eat. Especially their shrimp tacos. Great food, reasonable prices, friendly, pleasant staff.

Buckwheat Pancakes for dinner were light, fluffy with crispy edges have me fun but not over sugared. This place works like a well oiled machine as the staff are dancing around each other while keeping the clients happy. I keep coming back time and time again.

Your visit starts with the truly magnificent landscaping.The staff are friendly, helpful and inviting.The seating was comfortable and uncrowded.The menu was so varied that it was hard to choose, with a wide selection of flavors in their vegan selections. The food did not disappoint, all fresh and beautifully presented.Their milkshakes and rich liqueurs were out of this world delicious, with many others tables in on the secret!
My wife and I live in Seymour and there are some good diners. But Shoreline diner is exceptional. Great food and plenty of it and the prices are good also. Wonderful atmosphere and the staff is very helpful and curious. I highly recommend the Shoreline diner.
Excellent restaurant! Great food with fresh ingredients. Best part is most things are gluten free or can be made gluten free. I wish I lived closer, but it was so good that I plan to make the drive to dine there again!!

Just pulled over because it was time to eat... Were so happy we found this place. Food was awesome.. Service was first rate.. Friendly, fast and accurate. Menu knowledge, quick refills... Best patty melt over had in a long long time. Prices were good, bathrooms clean .... Very nice... Well will definitely come back!
The menu is good for allergies, and is overall typical of NY metro area Greek diners. Service was quick and attentive. I think the portions were quite small for the price. If you’re gluten free, this is probably a go to place. If not, there may be better options.
Luscious desserts, and the coffee is always great. 3 friends and I meet there twice a year; one comes up from FL, one drives from NW CT, another from central shoreline and I hail from SE CT. Its our biannual tradition to have coffee and dessert and Shoreline Diner, and we are never disappointed. My friends loved the tall, multi-layered chocolate cake. (It may have been called something like Dutch Death by Chocolate.) I had the Apple Crumb cheesecake; creamy cheesecake, crisp layer of apples, tasty crumb topping. We all had some left to take home!
Home cooking and excellent service. I give it three just because I wouldve liked the onions in the omelette to be cooked more, I think it took from the flavor. The pancake has good texture and flavor is not too sweet which makes it for a better companion to the maple syrup.Will go back and try another dish to erase the raw onion memory.

Had a very nice lunch and there was a mix up on a reservation. The owner made sure that we were personally taken care of because of their mistake and I have to say that their cheese cheesecake is fantastic! Its probably the best around.

Ive been living in the area for 4 years now and the Shoreline Diner was the first restaurant that my partner took me to.We go there often and bring friends and family.We have never been disappointed. The Shoreline Diner has consistently been an excellent place to eat.The food is always delicious and cooked to perfection. The managements interest in food allergies is top notch and has been from our first visit. Their vegetarian menu is excellent and their staff are all professional, friendly and caring.

The food here is very good and reasonably priced for such high quality! I have a soy allergy and its so nice to be able to see what I can and cant eat right on the menu. The servers are also very nice and willing to accommodate food allergy issues. I dont think Ive ever had a meal here that I didnt love!

The chicken parm was good. I did like how the spaghetti squash came out; a gluten free dish for me. I couldnt resist the carrot cake; gluten free as well. The frosting was just right; not too sweet or dense. The service was great.
Great Curbside pickup! Great service and great food! Their fries are hand cut! Cole slaw isnt all mayo! Responsible disposable packaging and paper straws!!! Fresh squeezed fruit juice. Online ordering is great esp for people with disabilities, allergies and dietary restrictions (celiac/gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, low salt, no eggs etc) In reference to a bad review I saw: If anything was ever wrong with my food I would feel able to ask for a remedy and you should too!

The food was great - I recommend the kofte (spelling?) if you have time- theyre Greek meatballs and so delicious! I hear they have vegetarian food but I dont care about that. My hamburger was fabulous! Its super clean and the staff was very professional.
Do yourself a favor and do not go to this restaurant. We had a terrible experience with one of our dinners there. The Chicken Tuscany was simply horrible. The pasta was half cooked and hard to chew, it tasted like salt. The member of my party could not eat but a few piscesand then had to drink a glass of water. When we informed the waitress she had the owner come out and seemed more like a confrontation then an inquiry about the batched food . He got in my elderly guests face to intimidate him like some kind of thug and told us do not come back. We paid the bill and got out of there quickly only to realize later that we were over charged by about 40% of what our bill should of totaled. The parking lot smelled like human waste. Needless to say NEVER AGAIN WILL WE GO BACK
Everything was amazing. Gluten-free bread made in house! We got Eggs Benedict and Gluten-free French Toast. It was perfect. Pretty large portions and very quick service. The grits were to die for. Im from the south and these were the best grits Ive had north of NC. Our waitress was perfectly attentive and friendly. We will be back!

Best diner food Ive ever had. This place is especially great if you have GF / vegan restrictions. Quick and friendly service and not too expensive either. The French toast (GF or normal) is out of this world. Everything here is fresh and delicious.
For my girlfriend and I, this is one of our favorite places to go for a delicious meal and dessert. I would like to point out that when it comes to food allergies, this place is one of the best at ensuring no cross contamination, and there are options for all.
