Best bookstore on this side of the Hudson! I used to live in Jersey City and shopped at the Strand on a regular basis, which was my favorite bookstore in NYC. Legacy Books is a smaller version of the Strand: a large, eclectic collection of books at great prices (in the Legacys case, one low price: $5.99). Their business model is great too - they sell donated books and share the proceeds with nonprofits, helping community service organizations and encouraging people to donate books instead of discarding them. I prefer history and biography books, and its always easy to find something good (they also have a huge fiction section.) If you are the type of book buyer that likes to discover great books as opposed to having mediocre ones pushed on you, stop by Legacy - you wont be disappointed!

This is a great local bookstore in a strip mall. Its very open and clean, a great place to browse. It seemed like they specialize in already loved books, but they were sold at a discount. The staff was pretty friendly. It would be good if they would support local authors by giving them a shelf to put some books on and sell on consignment or something, to support the community.

Very fair priced quality book selection. $6 for a $35 non-fiction. Every book same price, buy 4 get two extra... or something like that. Not open MON and TUES. Amazing bargain. I’ve seen others which robs your wallet, like Stroudsburg. Not here. Bring your old books as a donation.

Had a very odd experience here. The sales associate told me one price then upped it at the register. (She said the book I was holding would come free with another book I was holding - a paperback childrens book) I mentioned it and she completely lied about what she originally said, it was so awkward. After I paid she agreed that it is a little weird to charge $5.99 for a used book that originally cost $3.99... so why do it?Also the sign out front is false advertising because it says $2.99 to $5.99 but when I got in the store she said everything is $5.99 (this was before she decided the book I picked would be buy one get one free... As I said at the register was a different story too.. they seem to make it up as they go.) There are lots of more honest feeling thrift stores that sell books (with all proceeds going to charity) in the area so I wont be back here.

This looks like a really nice store and I would absolutely love to check it out, but I have been trying to come here for the last two days and am very confused by the actual hours of buisness. I tried to come yesterday, but the offical website said they were closed on Thursdays, but google said they were open. So I called to clarify, but no one answered, however, the answering machine said they were open Thursday 10-2. I thought maybe someone had been too busy to answer the phone so drove up there anyway. Sure enough, the place was closed and the sign on the door said they were closed Thursdays. Same thing for today. Google and the answering machine says theyre open today at 10 AM. The website says 12:30. I tried calling and no one answered. I am very dissapointed. I absolutely love books and bookstores are becoming so far and few between. I just really wish they would post some solid buisness hours.
