Things have changed. This Ace has lots of updates. There are many more plants and different soils. The employees are super helpful and friendly. It is a great little neighborhood hardware/ paint and garden center.

Bought what they recommended. Well it did not work at all. Returned it with receipt and wanted a refund (i paid cash) snot nose boy at the register insisted he had the correct part (hdmi splitter) well he was wrong and wanted a credit card I said why I paid cash. He demanded a card and I told him I paid cash and want cash back. Snotty said you dont have credit cards. So I showed him 4 I had. Told him thats not the pointFinally got cash and as I was leaving he said to a coworker how rude I was. Well rude NOT I will never shop there againAnd will never recommend them

Formally, local family owned known as Ocean Shore Hardware, now ACE, is a one stop hardware store where you can get tools, a barbecue and a surfboard at the same place. Great employees, ask for Gary or Carrol.

This a relatively large ace hardware in HMB that sells a leave amount of gardening and BBQ stuff which Im particularly interested in. They have the green egg which Ive been lusting after first many years. They also carry lazarri wood and charcoal which is top notch if you live in the Bay area for BBqing. That and local meats in a freezer from Maarkgard and one other local ranch. Staff is friendly and helpful and the store is well stocked. I always do by when Im driving on highway 1 to and from SF. Great place!

There are more staff than customers in the store. I dont know how a store can hire so many. But nonetheless, they are more helpful than Home Depot staff when it comes to find things and give better personal shopping experience on HW. This place is certainly for those with less HW patience. The higher price is a trade-off for that personal experience. The store has a lot of items in stock but less on generic utility items to be creative about. If in a hurry for a quick @home fix, come here. Otherwise, HD is where one should spend more than 30 minutes getting a bigger project done.

What I love most of all about Hassett Ace Hardware is all the help they offer. There is a helpful employee or two in every area! They will walk you to the exact spot where the item you asked about is located! And I feel comfortable asking all my .... stupid questions! They dont blink an eye or stifle a giggle! I love it there!

Each time my husband and I go there the people are so helpful. We find everything we need there! Its a distance for us but worth the drive!

Had another great experience with the HMB location.... needed the roller tool to fix two screens at home, had everything else but that, which without it would make the job truly painful... none on the shelf, clerk first checked the back; ‘hold on, lemme check the computer’; ‘ see two delivered, lemme check the delivery’, too much stuff to dig through for a little tool, would have taken forever. clerk comes back and says: “take the one we use here, just bring it back when you’re done”... just finished the screens, taking their tool back. great service

I purchased a Traeger grill from Hassett Ace Hardwarenin Half Moon Bay today. It was my first time in the store. The staff was amazingly friendly and provided fantastic service. I would definitely shop there again.

This hardware store has a great selection of products for homeowners, ranchers amd farmers. Its the hardware store I go to when looking for items that I cant find in the extended Palo Alto area.Its almost always busy here but there are plenty of staff available to help you find what your looking for. There is also a shop at this store, where the talented employees work on chain saws and other small engines. I dont know of many hardware stores that have these kinds of services available.Parking on weekends can require a short wait, products of any kind are generally not discounted, but the service and great selection makes full retail prices worth it.There is also a lumber yard business next door, so its convenient to get your hardware and lumber at the same location.

My contractor spent all day Thursday looking for a way to convert 3/8 inch gas valve nipple to 1/4 inch gas line for my patio fire pit. He literally went to six different hardware stores in the area without success. This included the big brands like Lowe’s and Home Depot. He finally gave up and handed me the project. I went to half Moon Bay Ace, dubious about anyone’s ability to find a solution.There I met Steve, one of that vanishing, rare breed of old-school, know-it-all hardware guys who could put together a solution for just about any trouble you may have! After about 10 minutes of searching dutifully through the brass coupling section of the store, Steve nailed it with just the right combination of fittings and couplings, and I’m a happy guy! HALLELUJAH thank you Jesus, (and a very clever hardware guy!

Drop off used batteries and Mercury light bulbs for free. There is a decent selection of art and craft supplies. The customer service has been consistently wonderful over the last 7 years of going to Hassett Hardware. I also like to buy my gardening supplies here too!

Great selection of outdoor equipment ( professional grade ) .Fantastically well managed, great employees who are always quick to help and find you what you need, as well as a an awesome selection / variety of important small business have to haves so we dont have to run over the hill, truly a godsend on the coast !

Ordered blinds from Graber through ACE in HMB for my home in the hills. Juan was fantastic helping me select the right size and color to fit each window. The order process was super easy and fun. I recommend (if the job is big enough) to have them come out and measure your windows for you. Takes a lot of the stress out of the task. Because some of my blinds were custom made it took a few weeks to have them made. Dont expect to have yours done yesterday if it is a large and or custom job. Good craftmanship takes time. When it came to install everything was super easy Juan, Fern, and Thomas did wonderful work!Thank You ACE!

Great hardware store with very helpful people. I appreciate what they have in plumbing. One of their agents helped me out with a unique project, interfacing the upstream of a rain reservoir spiget to an internal water pump. They helped me adapt it and did not give up.

This place rocks. You can get anything you want to here. If I cant make it over the hill to Target, I can get stuff at Ace. I always spend about 2x the amount of time I think I will in this hardware store and walk out with 4x as much stuff.
