Great curated selection of gear. Thankful we have a local gear store in Buffalo. Great spot for experienced folks to fill up on dehydrated meals, fuel, honeystingers and other essentials. A highlight is their big selection of dehydrated meals including lesser know brands like Heathers Choice and Good to Go. Great disc golf selection too.

Great store with two locations. Top brands and almost everything you would ever need for an outdoor adventure (still trying to convince them to carry fly fishing gear. FLY Gear for Adventure! Am I right?) Owners are just great people, you really want to support them. Knowledgeable and they walk the talk.

Nice service but they didnt have what I was looking for which was disappointing because it was just a flashlight and tent stakes. Dont get me wrong, they had some, just not a wide variety and not what I was looking for. Will be back though because they have a pretty good variety of gear, knowledgeable staff, and are local.

Excellent, knowledgeable service and quality products. The store is not a big box store. The products seem to have been chosen with care and the owners and staff are very knowledgeable about the pros and cons of each.I received excellent assistance in choosing a water purification solution, insect repellent, hiking boots for SE Asia, and a backpack Ive been looking for for 3 years.Gear for Adventure had some nice clothing options too. I restrained myself this visit but Im looking forward to my next trip.

Hi All.I have been perplexed for a few days to write this review because growing up, my parents had their own business, so I know the trials and tribulations of owning your own business. Although, I feel the Owners need to hear this.Last Friday (19 March), I purchased a Yeti mug from Gear for Adventure. I know I could have bought it online for a few dollars cheaper, but I always want to give business to the local business owners. I have been going to Adventure for years (even when it was located more in the village where the Logical Store is at now). Over the years I bought a Go Pro, Colombia Wet Shoes, Knives, many Yeti tumblers and thermos, jacket for my mom, helmet liners, reflective bike vests, etc. As you can see, Im a pretty loyal customer.Now, continuing back to my story. Last Friday, I bought my dad a Yeti Mug (total price with tax around 29.00). The base of the mug was too big for his trucks cup holder, so he gave it back to me. On Wed 24 March around 5pm, I returned it with the receipt, and this women (dont know her name), first of all, looked at me and the mug, paused, and didnt say anything. I spoke up again, stating I need to return this for the reason I just stated. Her response (which wasnt even in a nice tone), was it will cost you a 15% restocking fee. I asked, Why? She said it was used. I stated, no my dad never used it. She said, there was a Yeti sticker on there.I guess when I bought the Yeti mug, they put in a sticker in the bag (I dont ever use stickers so I forgot they do that). I said, well I can take the sticker off. She stated, sorry, its used and I cant sell it new so the best I can do is only give you back 85% of what you paid for it.I honestly couldnt believe what I was hearing. I said, Really, you wont refund my entire $28.00 because of a sticker? She said, yep! I put the mug back in the bag and stated, this is poor customer service, and I spend a lot of my in the store and reassured her I wont be buying anything from this store again.In my years of business with my parents, we were always told Customer is always right. Yet, I understand there are those customers who try to get over on a company. I wasnt trying to screw anyone out of money and I almost kept the Yeti mug because I love Yetis, but this one with the Handle on it and wide base, I know I would never use, so I just said Ill take it back.I really couldnt believe she was willing to squabble over about $4.00 and now lose me as a customer let alone word of mouth to my family and friends.It is unfortunate that future sales lost to Gear for Adventure because a women who wouldnt refund my money. I hope the owners read this and change their philosophy for returns. I really did enjoy going there but the principle of it is if I lose 15% on returns, I wont be doing business. Karen

Not much of a selection for fall winter hiking clothing

At this store you can find many items that are outdoors camping and camping. I am a Boy Scout and I like to go to this store if I want to get something new for a campout that is upcoming. There is also a 5% discount if you are a Boy Scout here.

This place is what youd expect for Hamburg and the whole hiking, camping, outdoor lifestyle things. What you dont expect... is how knowledgeable the two ladies at the store are! The prices are a little high, buttttt the quality of the things they sell seems to be on point.I had several questions about products they had and the salespeople were very knowledgeable and friendly; never felt rushed and eager to help. I will definitely come back here for all my trek, hiking, camping needs. Heck they even rent kayaks!

Had to stop in for something mid trip between Pittsburgh and Letchworth State Park. Called that morning after realizing we had forgot it, and they were kind enough to hold the last one for us! Not sure when we’ll be through town next but you’ll definitely get our business again next time!

I love this store. They have a nice selection of gear and usually I walk out with something I couldnt live without. At times when I cant find what I am looking for the friendly staff and owners are more than happy to order for me. The ability to rent things like snowshoes, skis, and kayaks from them is a valuable resource to have around as well.

Gear for Adventure is THE best outdoor/backpacking store ever! The owners, Kevin and Sarah, are so kind and friendly, and are always in the store to help you find what youre looking for. They will always steer you right, and never sell you something you dont need. I have shopped at their store many times and have never been disappointed.

Came into town and tried a number of boat rental places. Turns out this was the only RESPONSIVE one (they called me back), They were also ACCOMMODATING, and still the BEST VALUE based on list prices for rentals too - and all around a pleasure to work with. If I am ever back in town I will rent here again.

Always has some really cool designs for camping, or glamping. Clothes, coolers, ice packs, snow shoes, kayaks, everything except a wet suit it seems (when I asked they said theres a scuba place down the street, so theyre probably just avoiding competition).Water purification tablets are $10 (look carefully, one brand takes 4 hours, another 30 minutes, but the 4 hours tastes better)Saw what looked like a decent pair of snowshoes for $50 which is a steal.And theres a solar powered, USB rechargeable, collabsible lantern with 4 functions and around 4 hours battery depending on the mode. If youre outdoorsy, take the time to fit in a visit before your next adventure.

I recently bought a pair of hiking boots from them, got home, tried them back on, and realized that the boots where too big, they exchanged them with out a hassle, actually, they where really pleasant about it. I was in a huge hurry for a rack for my truck so I could carry my kayaks. Kevin jumped through hoops, special ordered it, and made it happen. There were some issues with the Yakima racks fitting my truck but even after they were installed, he made it right with zero hassle.On a size note, they sell Wilderness Systems Kayaks so they must be good people :)
