Pinelands recently was purchased and they’ve been working to improve it which will help. Greens and fairways are impeccable, the fringes and areas under trees need work, but they are working on it so it’s good to see. $39 for a Friday afternoon rate is great for how close it is to Philly. Was a little crowded but that’s what you get for a nice day of Friday golf. They also have a bar and restaurant.
Awesome experience! Greens are beautiful. Fairways are nearly perfect. Tee boxes are laser leveled. Normally golfers want to hide the hidden gems in their area, but the owners of this place have done so much to improve it that it has to be shared. Just go! The course is awesome! The service is awesome! There is a ranger DOING HIS JOB. You can pay $150 in South Jersey and you MIGHT see a ranger keeping up the pace of play. I paid $39 for a 4pm tee time. This is my new home course. I cant wait to play again.
Great course. Mildly challenging, fairways are nice. Rough is is bad shape because course is under new ownership but by next spring I’m sure they will be great. Greens are fast with tough pin placements that make the course challenging yet fun.
Played here for the first time on a whim a couple of weeks ago, and was really impressed with the whole thing. The course is well designed and very nicely manicured. They were in the process of renovating a few things when I was there, so I imagine its only going to get better! Great food at the Twisted Tavern as well. Will definitely come back with friends and family in tow!
We had an event here for my son and from the food to the atmosphere everything was amazing! The workers worked so hard and we’re so polite!! Morgan helped me plan everything and made everything perfect and gave me a stress free day! Highly recommend!!
Hugely improved fairways and tee boxes and greens. The effort is definitely here to approve course. Pace of play is horrible. Wayyy to many people backed up and have to wait on every shot which is not a fun day on the course. Price very reasonable and nice bar and little pro shop. Just please improve teetime space and we will be back.
Course has been very well taken care of recently. What a change! The newly renovated bar is great as well. I highly recommend the food there also..best street corn and tacos Ive had in a long time !
Very good. Course in good shape. Greens slow. Not much sand or water. Several dog legs make you think about your shot. No water or beverage cart on the course. Hut selling food and drinks/beer at the turn was it. No ball wash stations on the tee boxes.
Golf course continues to improve each season despite the condition it was left in when taken over by new ownership. Fees are appropriate and memberships very reasonable. Live music around the weekends and fantastic food.
This track is in great shape. And getting better. They are doing a lot of stuff . Go see for your self. All the staff is well trained and happy to see you. Food is excellent.
The Course was improving, but I will not be back. They book tee times too close together. IDK how you are expected to have 4 people play in 9 minutes with 2 carts and only staying on cart paths and having to walk back and forth to the balls 4 times each. The approaches are beyond terrible and the fairway is cut too short. the best grass on the course is on the back sides of the green. It is the only place you can sweep the ball. The starter/range officer was extremely rude as well, quietly saying our tee time while we are on the practice putting area as if we were late and we still had 10 minutes. They also will NOT let you pay cash.
Course is better. But still needs some improvement. Rangers telling you not to drive woods in between fairways. How do you get your ball if you hit into the next fairway. Go figure
The course has been improved greatly with the new owners. I know that the first order of business was the fairways and greens. I am hoping that they start working on the rough especially around the greens. There are a lot of bare and crab grass areas.
Everything was very good except most traps were hard pan with some muddy bottoms making it impossible to hit routine out. That said, tees, fairways and greens were excellent, carts were excellent staff that I dealt with were cordial and professional and unlike some regional courses was not over priced, but it is off the beaten path. Overall high ratings.
Spoke with Brian today on the phone and he fixed the issue i made a review about giving a 1 star. I wish I could delete it but it is what it is. 5 star theyve done a great job with revamping the place in only a year. Cant wait to go back!
Course was in good shape. Excellent waitress service and the food was great as well
First-time playing here. I was pleasantly surprised with the course conditions. I heard that there is a new order who is upgrading the facility. I think with little more time, this course will be come one of my frequently played places.
Went there on Fathers day with a group of about 30+ people. I went into pay and clearly stated I was paying for 1 greens fee. Around the 5th hole I checked my account and noticed I was charged for 2. I called and explained to the pro shop how I was charged for 2 and the first they said was I only charge what the individual tells me to ( I clearly said 1 and held up 1 finger and the individual repeated it back to me). After some back and forth I was informed I would receive a full credit (both greens fees back). I have gone here almost every weekend up until this point and have talked nicely and tried to get people to come here and check out all the work theyve done. That stops now. Its been a week and NO REFUND. I was charged over draft fees because of this. Steer clear as they will mess up and then blame you for it, and still not refund you the money.
Shrimps crab fra Diablo tasted better than it looked excellent food golf course was in good condition
Greatly improved. Had to wait awhile for a cart. Greens a little bumpy. Great price. Would definitely return. Hope to book a Sunday tournament there with my Ocean City group. Staff friendly and efficient.
Really a good course, a little out of the way, but that is what makes it a bit more special! Being it has only been less than a year since it has been under new management, the important things are being taken care of, the course! The fairways are a little rough but are by no means bad. The greens are probably some of the best I have played all year! However, on that note, the pinsetter is diabolical and must be a non golfer. The pin placements made every green an absolute challenge! The fun part of the challenge of getting to the greens by way of the nicely manicured fairways, was where would the pin be placed? The putting surfaces were in excellent shape, ( please fellow golfers, fix your ball marks) sand traps were sparse but adding some interference along the way. The other three players agreed, we are looking forward to play here again in the spring! The staff were friendly and courteous giving us the needed information we needed to enjoy our round. We wish the new owners/ management the best of luck and continued success! As another great military man once said, We will return !
Course is in very good shape. Several poor pin placements. This is golf not miniature golf.
While the course is nice, the computer reservation system is antiquated, not user friendly and has alot of problems getting a tee time. Management that I spoke to admitted it . The manager was unwilling to address the problem at hand . It’ll be a while before we try Pinelands again
The course was in excellent shape tee times were held tight and ranger moved play along course was booked with foursomes and we finished in 4.5 hours.
Much work being done. Course is in fine condition, even with little rain this spring. Go play it, youll like it.
In great shape, first time there really enjoyed the layout. Will be back.
A great golf course. Plush greens. Great fairways!
What a disgrace of a golf course. The head pro literally had 24 high school kids waiting to tee off and he and his incompetent staff couldve cared less. He finally at 4:20 canceled our match. 36 years of playing and coaching Ive never had that happen before. The worst part was his complete and utter arrogance and lack of empathy for his future customers. The new cart barn looks amazing and the removal of the trees was much needed but when your pro shop doesnt care about customer service its truly wasted money.
Beautiful redo of a dated golf course. It looks great!
What.agreat.place 1st.time.there.in.15.yrs..lovedit...BRIAN....IS.THE.BEST... I.SEE.ME.AND.MY.WIFE.JOINING...AND.LEAVING...SCOTLAND.RUN.......STELLACC
We continue to play even after the league is long over. The course is getting better every week. And the staff is very friendly .for now we take what mother nature gives us .
Getting better fairways and greens are nice priced accordingly
The golf course is in very good condition...The new owner has made tremendous improvements...Played today in the middle of the heat day, and not 1 drinking water station...They should be embarrassed to send people out in 94* weather and not have 1 water station...no ball washers anywhere...Bad customer service during the dog day of August...
Enjoyed the course and for the price, if it holds still worth the price of admission
Great place with great people. Cant wait to see the final product!
Atmosphere, food, drinks and service were superb ! Will be back to golf, eat and drink!!
First time playing this course and it wasnt terrible. The fairways were in good condition, new tee boxes are in the process of being made, and the greens were satisfactory. However, the the time it took to tee off on every hole was abysmal, hence the 3 stars. We had a 2 pm tee time and didnt tee off until 3 with us only managing to get 12 holes before it got dark.
The price was reasonable. We came at 6 pm and played 9 holes, and it was only 19 dollars. The course was in pretty good shape, and we had a good time. Afterwards we had a beer outside. My only complaint is that neither of the waitresses was wearing a mask, nor was the girl at the pro shop wearing a mask. Otherwise, I would play here again, but this one thing is a big deal to me. If they start wearing masks, Ill change my rating to 4 or 5 stars.
Zero Covid-19 restrictions. No masks needed, inside is open as well. None of the employees were masks either. A little concerning, but ok I guess. Three stars untill I return next year... clearly upgrading the course, but also very rough in spots. Most trees boxes are just grass boxes marked by spray paint. The fairways are all in the process of repair and the cart path is very very rough. But it is a nice layout. Well placed hazards. Pace of play was in the slower side.
Fairways and greens are in excellent shape.
Pinelands is entirely new and improved. Played this course for many years and played this year for thr first time last week. Tee boxes, fairways and greens are in awesome shape. Club house being renovated and parking lot expanded. I felt like I was playing on a new course that was far superior to the old Pinelands. Make a tee time and tell them Lenny K sent you.
John, has been doing a great job as the new owner. The golf course is in a lot better shape, the good at the restaurant is great and I love the outdoor patio.
Greatly Improved. What a value.
Making new/good improvements
The course for winter is in great shape. However it was a little over booked long round and a lot of down time.
The coarse owner is putting a lot of work into the coarse its really looking great
Great price and the course is in good shape.
Had a great day of golf. Bunkers are a bit wonky right now but all in all great course everyone kept moving. Lots of fun
Nice siteComfortable setting
Had a great time, the singer was fantastic and food was good. Perfect night, met new friends
Course was better than the last time Ive played it. I guess the new management is listening to the customer. Decent setup for the COVID19 situation.
Course looks great!
Very nice course. Steve had a couple nice pars. We had a great day with Bill and Paul.
Course is poor shape outside of the greens. 4 groups still waiting to tee off upon our scheduled time. Booked through golf now, show up and course says no it’s wrong and the price for the round is more then what I booked through golf now. Very unprofessional and didn’t seem to care in the least. Just go to Buena Vista Country Club, course is immaculate compared to Pinelands. Would give 0 stars
They need to rake the traps otherwise the course is in great condition.
Nice Course. Very narrow. Trees galore. Greens were true and a little quick
The difference between before the shut down and after is night and day. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens in great shape. The only issue I found was that the a lot of the bunkers are made of the sand from the pines so there are a lot of rocks in the bunkers.
Getting nicer by the day.
I played 9 holes last week with my son. As a former head pro there (20 yrs ago) I can honestly say that the new ownership “get it”! I know there a are further improvements to be made, ie; bunkers, rough..but I have all the confidence that these will be addressed in time. My advise, be patient and enjoy the good conditions that currently exist. My son and I will be full members and giving up on BVCC once and for all. I look forward to my tenure there. And if anyone is on the fence..if you’re serious about your golf, check out Pinelands. You won’t be disappointed!!
Not a bad place but no fairways, rocks in sand pit, no tee box, grounds maintained well but its all crab grass even when you hit a fairway shot your playing of crab grass. Yardage is of ok most of the holes150 paid like 130. Its a great place for beginners and if you want to work on your irons. No true lies to hot hybrids or woods. Great staff and clubhouse
Under new mgmt, greens are in nice shape. Fun course, not long, but some tight fairways.
Staff was friendly and course was in great shape. Will definitely play there again
Good course not much on the way of water or sand traps. Great course for novice players.
Love this course! Every other course has jacked up thier pricess to get money back from Covid losses.. Not pinelands, and plays better then most in the area. There is still some work to do, but the owners have done so much to make it a great course. Very challenging, but still enjoyable for a golfer of my lower skill set. It is a must play!
Definitely an enjoyable round, but the pace was extremely slow
New ownership. A lot of great changes being made. Cant wait until the bar/restaurant opens.
Not in very good shape,Needs some work.
Poor at best conditions. Frankly, they should close the course, and work on the fairways, greens, and tee box areas.
This course is in really bad condition and they run out of golf carts when busy. Because of its low price, many playing there are just learning.
Good Public course. Greens are very nice. Fairway could get some work. Tee boxes need to he cut lower though. Overall solid course
Terrible place, doesn’t care about others
I frequently play there, the course is in very good condition an is 300% better than it was 25 years ago. Excellent place to sharpen your game. Needs to be over seeded but I really like it.
New owners, doing great things there. Not like wedgewood.
Greens were excellent. This course is headed in the right direction.
Place is in the best shape I have ever seen. And Im 90
As a former employee. Thanks to John.staff that is not experienced.not honest people. Promise to keep employees. We were let go because of age this is discrimination. Dont spend your money for 4.50 a hot dog
I my opinion, the fellow behind the counter was and is extremely rude and unprofessional. The fellow who called himself Ernie is a liar and a cheat. If you have 5-6 hours to spend playing 18 holes behind a group of 6 players.( one with a cast on his foot) than this is your place. They were well aware of this situation and felt uncomfortable confronting the group of six explaining the guy with the cast would only hit a few balls here and there. I could not believe my ears. Then they offered to give us another round for another day. We excepted, but when it came time to play again, they claim they BOTH claim they did not recall that day or arrangement. UNBELIEVABLE!!!None of my friends, colleagues, employees or I will ever play here again. Good luck to those of you who do. Its no wonder they only have a 2.5 star rating.
Great course needs minor work, great price.
Course is in great shape. but it drives us crazy that they use rocks,,,large rocks and quarry rock in the sand traps...nobody actually plays out of them, Im sure but dont they get complaints?new ownership, new course different sand traps as of Summer of 2020
Affordable and tucked back in the woods. Not the fanciest place around but really not bad at all.
Course is in great shape and you can’t beat the price.
What a pleasant surprise this course. Was to play at today. Fairways and greens were in great shape. Only $36 to play. What a great bargain. If you dont play here at least once this season, you are missing a great golf course to play.
Terrible management. They put a league out right in the middle of our round. We got to #10 and there were no less than 20 people waiting. No starters in sight. The clubhouse specifically told me they didnt do that and we were wide open.
Guess all they are updating and remodeling is the bar area and pro shop course is the same if not worse. They dont care very much about covid guidelines or the health of their customers.
Its Going to be the course everybody wants to play next year
I play here in a Tuesday mens league and for the shape of the course the price isnt bad. The last round the greens were a little slow I thought, but in amazing shape. Very well kept golf course. Its very narrow and a lot of trees, so if you have a bad slice you will have a tough time. The only other thing worth mentioning is that there is a gun range nearby so you will constantly hear gun shots half way though the front nine
Tough little course. Has some challenging holes and is well kept for the price. Greens always in excellent shape. Fairways are cut tight. Always a good day playing at Pinelands!
Fairways are coming back nice
Ive been coming here for years great layout especially for newer golfers. always enjoy coming here. I think prices are reasonable compared to other courses. but def not worth coming when weather isnt good especially rain.
Only public course around where when its slowed down, its apparent the Marshal is actually out there working to try and help everybody move along
Greens were so slow and the round was just as slow. 4.45 to play.
Prime Rib Rocked, 👍
Wonderful course, and beautiful greens. Had a great time
Love this course. Challenging but very nice! Peanut Butter and Jellys could be better :)
Have to agree with previous review. No one wears a mask.
Love this place, laid back, casual, public golf at its best. Great greens, best place to practice, grass driving range, chipping and separate putting greens.
Been coming here for years. This used to be our favorite place to golf until it changed hands this year. So poorly run it is clear the Didinatos are only interested in making money not in running a quality course. 30 minutes late because not enough carts, 25 minute waits on every hole. We quit after 9 and we are never coming back. Ever!!! Stick to bowling alleys
Nice music by Annie Williams
