I came in town to visit my folks and found out their ice maker wasnt dispensing ice. My elderly father said he got a part from Ideal Appliance Parts in Harahan but it was the wrong part and they wouldnt take it back. They recommended a service call with Christians Appliance Repair to come look at it. The dispensing mechanism would have to be ordered. I would personally like to thank Michelle at the Metairie location and Jared at the Harahan location for being so understanding and helpful in adjusting the company policy for the purchased part. Unfortunately, the correct part is too expensive for such an old fridge. Ideal Appliance, through their knowledge and customer service has earned a customer for life. I woke up today and it was 78° in my home. After checking out my AC unit, I found I needed a new capacitor. I called around to a few different supply houses and no one would sell me one. Finally, one of the places that was turning me down told me to call Ideal Appliance. I’m glad I did!I went online first and checked their stock, this location showed they had the one I needed in stock. When I called to verify, the gentleman on the phone said they indeed have it and asked me to bring in the bad one so they could test it to be sure I needed one. I have a multimeter that reads capacitance, but I thought that was a very nice gesture!I’ll be back for sure. It’s a shame because we all know Ideal is making a nice profit because most wholesaler won’t sell to DYIer’s. Here’s the thing though, I gladly paid Ideal a few extra bucks today because it meant I could fix my own AC and I could do it today! Take that AC repair companies! Haha
