I wanted to introduce my 7 year old to instruments. We are learning about sound waves and the employee was so awesome in explaining how the guitar strings and various parts work to create the different sounds. They allowed us to play and so kind. Thank you. We discovered that she loves the drums and Santa will be making a stop at Guitar Center for a nice percussion set. The selection was pleasant. Thank you again!

Love this place. Can spend hours alone here plugging and playing off of amps and the guitar wall. The acoustic room is well kept and a chill place to try out new acoustic guitars. The staff are all friendly and very helpful. I dropped my guitar off for a repair and the tech was nothing but super helpful and eager to help with my guitar quality and satisfaction.

Staff very nice and helpful but you buy new equipment that doesnt come with a box or any type of literature.

Needed an audio interface quick. Went to the site and and put in the local store. Chose my product because it showed in stock. After the order I get the receipt and it says ship to store. Called Customer Service to find out that the store does not have it in stock but a store about an hour away does. I asked if there was something similar price range at local store, we found a product that would work. Website said in stock and customer service showed 4 at the store. Customer Service then called the store to find out they only had 1 display model and a used model. So we went back to the original order and placed the order to be shipped from the store an hour away. Today I get an email from UPS that says it shipped from Kansas, which is states away. Call Customer Service again to be told that I will have it tomorrow, then when I said that UPS says Thursday, the story changed again. Reliability is Zero.

Our company spends tens of thousands of dollars with guitar center every year. This particular GC has the worst customer service I have ever witnessed.

Horrible service. I waited at the back counter with multiple staff walking by me for 15 min. I had to stop the guy playing guitar to ask him to help me turns out he was staff just chillin out playin. he was then rude when i commented on my wait. Dont bother with these guys.. you’ll wait

Overpriced equipment. Most of the guitars and amps they sell can be found at a cheaper price online. Plus I dont want to pay full price for something that looks like its been beat up.

One or two good employees here. Most of them have no knowledge on any of the gear being sold and have the dont care attitudes. When this place first opened it was great. This guitar center is a great example of why they had to file for bankruptcy.

I was greeted at the door telling me they were there if i needed anything and then left me alone. Thats awesome. Attentive of you need help, but also no one looking over your shoulder and presuring you. Prices seemed fair. Not going to replace my local mom and pop store as my go to, but would shop here again.

Good service. We picked up a speaker package. 2 speakers, mixer, a Mike and a stand.Cant give a 5 star because they gave us a lighting stand instead of speaker stands. So if you rent stands (or anything) make sure you double check what they give you.

I was greeted immediately. Salesperson was friendly and very knowledgable in acoustic guitars. I did purchase a Martin. Also, signed up for lessons. That gentleman was very knowledgeable and friendly as well. I would highly recommend Guitar Center for anyone that has a musical need!

I was not greeted upon walking in, though it was not busy. The guy who eventually said anything to me had an attitude like he didn’t want to help me, and was not helpful with any of the questions I had. I was planning on buying more than just the guitar (only got it because it was in stock there), but the guys attitude really put me off. When I said “thanks have a good one” he said “nope, have a good one”. I’m not sure If I caught an employee on a bad day, but it was enough to make coming back here anathema.

Chris K. at Harrisburg PA helped me figure out a store credit issue, was lightning fast, and was super professional and helpful during the whole thing. Once again, GC staff prove to be some of the very best retail employees out there. Appreciated, as always.

The stores a joke, the staff is a joke. Items are thrown in boxes with a price label, but when you take said items to the register, you find out theres different prices for model a or model b but theyre lumped together. The register guy cant remedy the problem so he gets the store manager whos too concerned with closing the store to be able to fix the issue. All in all, the store should shut down and the staff should go back to mom and or dads basement and learn some life skills like microwaving their own hot pockets. Dont waste your time at guitar center

Where do I start? Today was my 3rd visit (out of 4) in the past few months where I have been completely ignored by staff. Walked in to buy a keyboard, no greeting, went back to the pianos, only one was actually plugged in to demo, ended out guessing on one and it turned out to be a bad choice. I should have taken it as a sign when the guy checking me out highly suggested to get the gear protection because the brand was notorious for crapping out. Why carry products with that reputation? But I get home, try it, it sounds god awful and I will be returning it and never returning to this GC ever again, no wonder why you guys are losing business to BCR and Dales Drum Shop. 0 customer service, employees that hardly want to be there, let alone help.

All the staff are awesome, knowledgeable great people just kind of stinks to go in and theres next to no inventory. I understand I get it but it just a let down to see such a big store with no equipment.

Order a used Fender Duo Sonic through the phone with them after my purchase was back ordered. Bobby was able to help me out and get the guitar I wanted. He was cool and the guitar came practically brand new. Super stoked!!

Very please with the work they have done on my guitar. Nothing major just basic maintaince. Im just a beginner and the staff there is very knowledgeable and willing to answer my questions. I appreciate that very much since I am in the learning process with all of this. They have lessons you can take as well though they are online lessons at the moment I was told. I ordered New a Epiphone Es 335 online. Said it was sent from the Harrisburg store. My New guitar was a scratched up floor guitar at New price. It even came in a Jackson box!!! They shipped it in a hox for a different guitar.Ill be back at guitar center justbtonplay the guitars, but I wont be making big purchases from Guitar Center anymore. Ill just order from Sweetwater

My rating is for the tech. Passionate guy that knows wgat hes doing and doesnt mind showing you exactly why he recommends something or just merely willing to explain things and talk about your instrument... my guitar is in good hands.

Staff let you play the instruments without harassing you, theyre knowledgeable and able to help with any questions, and the store is well kept! Cant wait to visit again. Hopefully theyll have the Hummingbird acoustic next time!

Covid-19 hit them hard. The selection was horrible even for very common items. It hurts to see it in the condition that its in.

Well on my last trip in I got some kid at the counter that was rude and amazed that I was asking for electric wire for wiring a Guitar.His comment was we dont carry that kind of item. Really you sell electric guitar and dont carry any wire for wiring up a guitar.Im just wondering what Alex is doing by hiring such idiots.

Gave my son my old keyboard (missing the adapter) & sent him to Guitar Center to see if it still worked. Told him to ask the staff to test it w/one of their cords & if it works buy the cord from them. Well, the staff told him they couldn’t test it BUT they have the cord FOR SALE. Hard to believe, since they host live sessions, lessons, demonstrations etc. They also ‘advised’ him he could buy the batteries. Thanks for the help.

I wish I remembered the the guys name in the blue tie dye shirt super helpful so is the guys who rang me out everybody was working hard there towards the end of the night I came in right before closing and just had a really good experience not all guitar centers are created equal and I appreciate these guys.

As a new professional “all day video conferencer” I was having some audio problems with my USB mic and could not remedy the problem even with Best Buy folks. I decided to come over to Guitar Center, figuring perhaps they had some ideas on the audio routing I needed.I came in and asked for their best audio guy, and Alex listened to the situation and discussed how to best solve it. Not only did Alex solve what others couldn’t, over the next several days he helped fine tune and perfect my Shure SM7b, Scarlett 4i4, Cloudlifter and Sennheiser setup.I was annoyingly indecisive on a headphones and preamps, and quite impatient waiting for them to restock the items I really was after. None of it mattered, every interaction with Alex was awesome, and when he wasn’t there Bobby and Phoenix both stepped in as well.I don’t play the guitar, despite having always wanted to. The name may say “Guitar Center” but these guys, Alex specifically, should probably become your go-to for ANYTHING audio related.Keep up the great work!

Wow, they not only have a ton of items here but the staff is awesome. Went in to but guitar strings and was shocked at the selection. Got a quick education in the makes and styles and sounds.They do have a staff of instructors and sound proof lesson rooms. Very nice store.I recommend this place if youre not sure where to go.

I was in the keyboard section a few days ago. I remember about 10 years or so ago that Id gotten good service. Ive played professionally for many years. I was playing some of the models there, hoping a sales person would eventually work their way over to where I was. After about 15 minutes, I went back throughout the section there looking for someone, and I was told the fellow who oversaw the keyboards had left. Id finally caught one of the ladies working there, and she had no keyboard knowledge, and it took her nearly 10 minutes just to turn on the one I had questions about. No answers. I used to work at Keyboard World, so I know about attentive service. I found nothing like that this time around. Its definitely not good business to hound someone, but believe me, if Id heard a proficient pianist/keyboardist playing on one of the models at where Id previously worked, Id be at least within sight of that customer if I wasnt waiting on someone else. Very sad experience.

Say what you will about how you feel about this company and their stereotypical experience but this particular location has always provided me with excellent service and products. I really dont have any reason to deduct any points or stars since Im completely satisfied with this store; I order something or swing by several times a month.

The staff was not helpful. I was in the store for a half hour and not one person came to see if I needed help. 3 staff members were out smoking cigarettes while I waited. I finally found someone to help and she was not very knowledgable.However they place itself is cool. Nice selection for a smaller city like Harrisburg

Just bought a Casio PX 160 digital piano today. Staff member Ralph was attentive and extremely knowledgeable, and played beautifully to demonstrate the instrument’s full capabilities. I was hooked. I bought the keyboard, a stand, and some sheet music, then drove the better part of an hour home only to find that it came with no power supply. It tends to not sound as good this way. :-)I called and explained the situation, and after a few minutes Lane and the guys agreed to meet me, even though it was a few minutes after closing, to hand me a new power supply. I am now home and happily playing this beautiful instrument. Many thanks for their help, enthusiasm, and for carrying a great selection of products at a solid price. I will definitely be coming back.

This location is a bit smaller than most Guitar Centers, but it has excellent customer service and fun staff, plus a really interesting selection of gear. I got a great deal on something I hadnt been able to find until I looked into this place.

Went in to buy a keyboard and accessories for our daughter. Spent almost an hour talking to a salesman about putting together a package deal who then said he wasnt allowed to approve it and would need to talk to the manager. The manager ignored us the entire time we were there then finally said he wouldnt do anything for us. Ended up buying exactly what we wanted somewhere else, much cheaper.

Small store. Not much of a selection of amps. Few left handed guitars (grandson is a lefty) that is usually the case though. There on Black Friday wouldve liked to see a few more deals than what they had. Separate room for acoustic guitars, good idea!

Its always fun getting to play with all the instruments. Sometimes you can find good deals. Very nice knowledgeable employees.

I worked at a guitar center and the majority of these people dont know anything about their gear, but the exceptions make the experience. Their techs are FANTASTIC and completely restored my 50 year old Alvarez to perfect playability for about 120 bucks.Having said that, I paid 1000 for a telecaster there, and I expect some sort of general tuning, polishing, bagging, and a few free picks for such an investment. When I worked at GC, that was the bare minimum, and I usually was able to hook customers up with much more.

Every guitar center I have ever been to (Fort Collins CO, Denver CO, Dallas TX, and Harrisburg PA) has been a bad experience. The sales people know nothing and don’t want to help. I wish they had a music go round here in the area

Everyone is very nice and knowledgeable.

I stood in the recording/piano area for more than 20 minutes and no employee ever came into that department. In fact, I only ever saw one sales person in the whole store and she was spending her time in the acoustic room with who appeared to be her boyfriend.

Our Church Bridge of Faith buys 90% if our equipment from Guitar Center. Every time I come into the store I am greeted by the employees. They know me by name now. No matter the department i am assisted by all staff members.

Had an electrical short in a pickup on our guitar. Sean (tech) fixed it in store within 15 minutes and we were out. No downtime at all. My son was very happy with the warranty.

Staff not very attentive, or aware of whats in stock,I had asked personnel about a sale item posted on their website & no one behind the counter (4 employees) seemed to know anything about it. I had asked them to plz.check into it for me and finally convinced one of them to gather enough energy to get on their feet and look for me, just so I could make a purchase after traveling almost an hour to get there.Other than that,the place was clean and well stocked, so if you know what you need and know were its at youll be fine.

Only twice have I visited this store. Both times for percussion instruments that had to be ordered. They have a good stock in the store, but I happened to need what they didnt have. Both times the clerks helped me order what I wanted. I had my items shipped to the store for free shipping, but it could have gone to my home. The clerks were helpful and fun. The store seems a bit disorganized, but it adds to the atmosphere, dynamic instead of sterile.If you are reading this to find out what the store is like, I say to you, Just go.

Drove 20 miles to sell a guitar and amp (called beforehand to ask for a quote since its a far drive and was told they buy used gear for 60% of the price listed on their website) to be declined because the manager was outside smoking a cigarette he didnt want to come in to see what i wanted to sell so he told the cashier that they were all stocked up on used gear and wont buy anything. On the way home 10 minutes after that i called and spoke to the same manager told him what i had to sell and he said that they are currently buying used guitars and maybe the amp depending on what amp it is. What a joke never going back there again
