I was a little hesitant because I honestly didn’t even know Hertz sold cars. I thought it was strictly rental. But it was an awesome experience, Kevin was my salesman and he was absolutely great. A true No pressure kinda guy, with a “it is what it is attitude.” Which I like. I will recommend this place and Kevin to friends. Oh and great 2019 Jeep Compass Trackhawk 👌

I mean its just an ordinary dealership I purchased my car from them a month ago and all I can say is!! it was also my last time ever buying from them. While the staff was cool when it came down to me getting my car it was beyond the slowest process they didnt send all required documents to bank which dragged the process out as well as lie about DMV registration, they make you sign papers and tell you the car would be ready to go that day which is a lie. I dont recommend this dealer to anyone if you want to be out the door the same day and have paperwork properly handled then you should go to another dealership or enterprise car sales in Hartford CT

I Bought a Dodge Grand Caravan from Hertz Car Sales in Hartford CT. All I have to say is WOW this was the best dealer experience that I have ever had! From start to finish. Honestly, it should have been a red flag when there were two women yelling at the sale staff about nothing being ready when I came to test drive a car. But, I decided to go ahead and put a hold on the car anyway. As a first time car buyer, this was the most stressful car buying experience I can imagine. I put about 20 hours into calls and emails to Hertz this week, trying to figure out what information they needed for my car. I was assured that everything was all set. However, when I arrived, I found out there was a problem with my car insurance, financing company and at the last second, a problem with my plates. After completing all the paperwork (and giving them a large check as a down payment!) Over 3 hours later, I was told that I couldn’t even leave with the car! The staff here were all nice enough, but have absolutely no idea what they are doing. HERTZ CORPORATE, you need to come train this staff, do team building with them ( no one communicates with each other) and hire more staff as they are all clearly overworked and have a terrible work culture. I now have to wait two more weeks to even drive the car that I own. My advice: go somewhere else to buy a car, especially if you need a car fast, want to finance on your own and especially if you are a first time car buyer.

I came here after test driving & falling in love with the Cherokee, but it was sold b4 I could close. So I came to Hartford determined to close on a similar SUV. I was introduced to a brand new rep named Marcus & after my initial hesitation, he proved to be a brilliant sales rep. He went completely out of his way & above all expectation to ensure my total satisfaction. After closing on the car, It took a few weeks to finally be able to get my registration & drive off with my car, but that was due to Covid-19 related issues... Marcus was a truly remarkable salesman & Im so glad & greatful to him & his work ethic for all the hard work & dedication hes put into this sale. Hes a great addition to the Hartford team & will go a long way while there....

The ONLY reason for the 4 stars is the excellent service by the salesman Daniel Correia . He was juggling a number of clients and saw us waiting. We had scheduled an appointment but were not given the name of the sales person assigned to us and no one attempted to help us as we waited for quite some time until Daniel came and quickly got us to the cars we were interested in and helped us find exactly what we were looking for.

Great price and car. I purchased this Altima and frankly their price was very good. The car was in great shape and it was a smooth ride. The transaction went smoothly. There was some oil leakage but it was because the auto repair place didnt replace the oil filter properly. They corrected it at no charge. I had consider other rental companies but Hertz seems to be consistently a few thousand less for a comparable car.I will be taking my daughter to check out a new used car soon. This location will be the first stop.

Absolutely horrifying experience. Went to purchase a vehicle, put down payment down, was told vehicle would be ready by Thursday and that I would receive a call Wednesday to notify me that I could pick up the vehicle after inspection and cleaning. Never received a call. I called Thursday evening after not hearing from anyone, to be told they would call me back by 8pm... mind you I was suppose to get the vehicle that day. Needless to say no one called me back. I called Friday morning several times only to receive a voicemail every time. I finally got through and was told that my vehicle went out to inspection and didn’t pass and was going to be sent off to auction because they couldn’t sell it. They then called me back about an hour and a half later to tell me that they actually weren’t sure if my vehicle was the one that didn’t pass. I ended up driving to the dealership because the phone tag and communication was horrifying. When I arrived I saw the vehicle that I put a down payment on sitting in the parking lot untouched not inspected and not cleaned. I confronted Daniel (sales rep) about this and he really had nothing to say he had no rhyme or reason as to why I was being lied to numerous times about the inspection of the vehicle the status of the vehicle and that the vehicle had been cleaned, which it had not been. Yet these people had no problem cashing my $500 check. Worst customer service I’ve ever dealt with and the most unprofessional business that I’ve dealt with. Daniel is a sales rep and has no idea what he is talking about at any time during the conversations you have with him. He is rude, stagnant, and uneducated in the field that he is working in. I asked him numerous times for the exact mileage and price on the vehicle and he couldn’t give it to me during our two hour appointment. He could have easily got himself up out of his chair and checked in the vehicle itself but no he refused to do that. The manager, Mark, also never called me back on three separate days and occasions even though he said he would.Save yourself and your time. It’s a nightmare here. No wonder they filed bankruptcy.

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE! I would never purchase from here again. I made an appointment, and still waited 3 hours to purchase my car. I am due a refund and it has been 8 weeks. Everytime I call no one picks up. I was able to get the finance manager once, who said he would email me the next day, never heard back. Terrible customer service.

I had to give one star because they dont allow a review with out that. Truthfully, I would give them negative rating. Absolutely horrible customer service. I have been waiting on my car for almost 2 months now, and I still havent yet gotten it. First let me describe the communication process. The manager (Joe Glidden) and sales manager (Veronica Washington) dont care to reach out and inform about the status of the deal. In total I have made >500 calls in this dealing process. And I havent received a single call from the manager or the sales manager. Every time I have had to call and inquire about the status. And 99% of the time the manager does not pick up the call. The sales manager is very rude, and in fact she could not be bother to finish the deal. Because, I have been talking to another sales manager about the status of my car since the last 1 and half month. Second, let me tell you about the lack of integrity of their service. Every time I called they said the car will be read next week. Come next weekend, there is no call and no update on what happened. Again, I have had to call and ask whats the status. Again, the deadline is extend to next week. Its been an excruciating 2 months for me. I have had to cancel my plans due to not getting my car in time. I have had to pay for 2 months of my car loan without having the car keys in my hand yet. Also, the car insurance bills. I am scared this horrible experience has made me anxiety prone, full of anguish and i have suffered mentally. I dont recommend anyone to go through this. They charged me more than 500$ for dealer fee, an egregious amount for such shoddy service.

Google, please allow 0 Star, lol.Paid deposit and pick my vehicle after a week, then found a new scar on the vehicle. Argued and intended to retrieve deposit, the sales man L slam door on me. The manager is professional, promised to cover the repair to settle me down but asked me to drive 2 hours there to have their technician take a look. See, thats why one is the manager and the other is the sale, at least.

I never review online but this was worth it...we had the absolute WORST experience there. Started more than 2 months ago with a constant need to call and show up there because nobody return our calls and finally the car we wanted and put a deposit on was transfer or sold somewhere else...that was after a full month of waiting and phone calls to find out what was going on. Please do yourself a favor and do not buy (or try to buy) a car at Hertz car sale on Hartford. They aren’t commission based and they don’t care about the clients. It was by far the worst experience especially for the purchase of an expensive vehicle. Please go shop for a car somewhere else.

I will update this review as things progress but as of now, I highly recommend skipping this dealership. The buying process, particularly if out of state, is the most convoluted and poorly coordinate car buying experience I have ever seen. 3 weeks after obtaining a loan for a vehicle, we still do not have the car. The two managers with whom I have worked with are extremely poor with PR and do not work efficiently, that is being kind. Our original sales associate has taken a new job and another employee took me aside and told me that behind the scenes this place is a disaster. Hertz corporate was embarrassed and apologized profusely for my experience.Car prices are good, but your time and mental health is worth more. Go elsewhere.

Horrendous experience. Employees got into an altercation in the lobby in front of customers for an HR issue. Management did nothing to diffuse the situation and the employees were screaming at each other and one walked out and left.The car I was picking up had been mislabeled by 5,000 miles and had exterior damage and they did not tell me. They did not offer any price decrease and had no explanation as to why it was off by such a big amount. It had also been smoked in that day as the smell reeked and I found a lighter on the front seat. Hertz says all of their cars are non-smoking but obviously their employees dont adhere to that rule.Horrible organization, obvious reporting issues with inventory. Do not waste your time here.

Same person, this is just the second part to my first review.As I was saying, Once I was done submitting the paperwork and made her aware of it, she suddenly hits me with the fact that the car hasnt gone through inspections yet and I wouldnt be able to take it home the same day, rather 3-4 days later once the vehicle passes itS multi points inspection and they would give me a call. However, I would have to put down $500 down to hold the vehicle! So, Out of Desperation, i did it!A few days later, I get a call from Mr. Ali (the business manager, the only positive man out of all this chaos) that the car had passed inspections and i should come on June 10th in the afternoon to discuss the auto loan and start the initial paperwork on the car. Since I was coming from Ny, they told me that they didnt have any ny plates in hand and would take a while for me to get my plates in the mail from dmv due to the virus because theyre backed up. In the meantime, i was provided with temporary plates which ended up expiring in july.As I am currently writing this review 10/21/20, I still do not have any real plates on my car and I have been driving with the expired temporary plates given to me in June by Hertz. Everytime I call Hertz, not only does the General manager Marc gives me the run around but they keep blaming their negligence on DMV that theyre backed up. When I took the initiave to call DMV not once but SEVERAL TIMES they cant even find me in the system and KEEP EMPHASIZING on the fact that theyVE only been backed up for a month. Therefore if Hertz had submitted the paper work in june (which dmv has been unable to find me in the system), I shouldve received my plates NO LATER THAN THE END july. This was said by many of the DMV representatives I have spoken to for the past 3 months, ALSO YESTERDAY! . Yesterday, 10/20/20 when I called Marc (the general manager) to provide me with the tracking number and the date the paperwork was submitted, he brushed me off and said WHATEVER! A manager, talking to a cux this way!! THAT IS ABSURD!! I HAVE HAD ENOUGH WITH THIS COMPANYS CARELESSNESS, NEGLIGENCE, RUDENESS AND UNPROFESSIONALISM, MY PATIENCE IS RUNNING LOW.I PROMISE YOU WILL NEVER FIND MY NAME/REVIEW ON ANY OTHER ESTABLISHMENT WETHER GOOD OR BAD SO THIS IS NOT TO BASH HERTZ WHATSOVER THIS IS MY REAL EXPERIENCE STILL TO DATE GOING ON WITH THEM. I tried to purchase a car from this dealership. I traveled for 2hrs. After I found the car, I wanted to purchase. I put down a 3,000. Deposit and was told to come back the car would be readyIn one week. So I made a appointment to come back. When I got there there was know car it was still out for servicing. At Hertz Hartford, I recently purchased a used 2018 Chevy Malibu LT. I paid more money than originally planned, but I am very happy with the outcome. The vehicle had 45k miles at the time of purchase (yes high mileage), but that does not fully concern me because my Malibu is in like new condition. It was well cared for while it was in the Hertz rental fleet, and the drivers were nice to it. Plus too, I am a college student now and if I want to buy another vehicle when I graduate, I can trade in (but probably wont because I LOVE my Malibu). The buying process and paperwork was smooth and easy. The sales representative who helped me was very nice and was patient when I asked to see multiple vehicles at first. The inside of the Hertz office could be a little nicer, seems a little dated is my opinion.Overall, I am very happy with Hertz even though I spent more money than originally planned. I now look back and learned that you do pay more $$$, but you will get a like new vehicle. Tony was my sales rep and he was very nice!! Thanks Tony!!

My husband and I just bought our second car from Hertz Car Sales in Hartford, CT today. When buying a new car it is near impossible to know you are getting a good deal, but these cars were rental cars and had to be well maintained for people to rent them, so I trust it more than any other second hand option. We went in knowing exactly which cars we wanted from looking online. The salesmen we worked with were very courteous (Nick the first time, Tony this time), and the manager (Ali) went above and beyond to get us a better rate for financing. We left feeling very well cared for. I really cant say enough about how wonderful the staff we encountered were. I have recommended buying from them since the first car we bought there 2.5 years ago, but after this experience, I am even more convinced this is where anyone should look for a used car at a reasonable price.

Charges ridiculous $500 dealer fee on top of the manditory ones as if its a shady normal car dealership and not a rental car king pin. How greedy can you be? Called and asked for a final price on a vehicle salesman told me to just come down. I explained it was a hassle to just come down an hour away to get an out the door price on a vehicle id have to find a babysitter, I asked for him to call me back which he said he would after he took my number. Never recieved a call back. Buy a car some place else.

This place is really, really no frills. The staff seems straightforward, but could be more charismatic. Plan on buying floor mats and replacing wipers and tires soon after purchase. They often dont have floor mats in the vehicles, and while they say they will get them for you, and touch up paint, they dont. The tires and wipers are the lowest quality available that they put on to sell the car, so you will need to replace them within a few months. Im not totally dissatisfied with the purchase I made, but I doubt Id do it again.I wanted to update this review. We have had the car we bought for almost 3 years. Thank goodness it is my husbands car, because if it were mine, it would have had to go long ago. Istill feel nauseated every time I ride in it!!! Whatever fragrance is used when they cleaned it to sell it, or when it was returned as a rental car, NEVER LESSENS OR GOES AWAY!!!! It also gives my kids a headache.

Well i wish i was saying i had a great experience. Ali was a good help and all but I felt like they played around with me and my partner a little bit. They knew he was a 1099 employee and they didnt ask for the proper documents, which we went on their computers and printed out all the correct info, this caused a 8 hour delay and we was sent home with nothing accomplished. The second day we went the lady didnt send every page of the bank statement to the bank because she felt as if she didnt need to send the blank page that was printed with it knowing the bank need every last page. So that delayed us again. Ali came in on his day off to help us because my partner is a truck driver and had to get back on the road. We finally closed on the car late that night . Now i live in a different state so i had to wait until they registered it and deliver it to my house. So we left the down payment and every paper signed so it wouldnt be any hassle. Now 5 or 6 days later i still have no car. Im calling and calling and no answer. But when they do answer it seems like they are still giving me the run around. I feel like i have been played because they have my money and all my info and im still with no car. They say its a process. But it wasnt a process when that check was written out to them. Nobody is still not answering and my feelings are hurt as i read all these good comments. This is my first time buying a car and im starting to regret coming to a place that i was recommended to go to from an out of state Hertz employee. I just want my car honestly. Made my first car experience very bad for me.

Went in with a unique situation involving a name change not yet reported to Social Security, and came armed with all certified court documents establishing me as having had that name and changing it to my new one...and after having about a five minute conversation, in which they told me that I “might be a terrorist” and that my honesty was “setting off a lot of red flags,” the manager came over and flatly said “we’re not going to be able to do anything for you.”I get it, it was a unique situation...but they didn’t even offer to let us test a vehicle, regardless of the issues at hand, they never even said something as simple as “we’d love to work with you when you get this issue straightened out.”In fact, we never even got a “thanks for coming by.”DEPLORABLE customer service.

I drove 40 minutes to buy a car from this place $10,000 cash in hand. When I got there I told the Manager I was interested in buying a car. He said his salesman got into an accident and that no one would be able to help for “at least” an hour and a half. I asked him why he couldn’t sell me a car he said “that’s not my job”!!! Wow! 😮 Just wow! I went somewhere else and will never return.

Went in to test drive a 2014, bought a 2015 instead because the prices are so reasonable. Spoke to Tony before heading to Hartford to confirm that the vehicle was still available. I was weary about purchasing a car that had been used as a rental vehicle, but Tony answered each of my questions about each of the three vehicles I test drove. The transaction was painless and easy. This was the first time Ive been able to buy a car, start to finish, in under two hours. Extremely satisfied with my purchase. I highly recommend Hertz Sales and will be visiting them again in a couple of years.

Just OK kind of place. Car(s) has scratches on it. No detailing at all. They will wash the car mentioning it as a big favor they are doing. You will find past rental receipts inside car you bought (another worst thing). Price is just OK as per market. Customer service is average. I agree bring your own water (most pathetic thing). If you complaint / give suggestion to them, you will hear this rudely What you pay is what you get. Really? Huh! Not going again.

We purchased a Chrysler Town & Country in May 2016. Our van was missing a hubcap he said he would get us one, it never happened. The car hadnt been cleaned when we looked at and we were assured that it would be cleaned when we came back to pick it up. After drive 2 hours to pick up the car it hadnt been cleaned. There was very greasy finger prints on both visors and made the man go get a cleaner and I cleaned them off and cleaned the dash board. If it wasnt so far away I would have refused to take until it was cleaned. The car has been fine, except after we had the car a month my husband went to rotate the tires and found that the car jack that was in the van was for a Nissan mini car. We contacted our sales man and he didnt even say he was sorry,come by and we will give you the correct jack nothing. I dont think wanted a jack to fit the car is to much to ask for. It has been a year and they havent even tried to make it right. Check the jack and make sure the car is cleaned and the salesman has completed his promises before you accept the car.

After a few dealerships, and a variety of options, I found myself at Hertz Car Sales in Hartford. My initial sales associate was Anthony and he was wonderful; he explained the history of the vehicle clearly, showed me what had been done mechanically to the vehicle recently, as well as current inspections. He signed me out and I was able to see how it drove; in town, on the highway. When I decided that it was the vehicle for me, he helped me go about financing.My credit isnt perfect, Im reestablishing after a few stupid choices when I was young, and Anthony really did his best to get me the best option. And this is when I began dealing with Harold, who is the business manager. Harold was beyond helpful, and he really went above and beyond getting a good rate to finance, especially given my circumstances.All in all, I would most definitely recommend this dealership, they were wonderful, and I will definitely go back when I need a new car.

This was the best experience I’ve had when purchasing a vehicle. I came in looking for a vehicle for my son. There was an impressive number of vehicles to choose from, all low mileage, well-maintained and at unbelievable prices. Although everyone at this location seemed super friendly, I had the good fortune of having Celinesse as my salesperson. If you are looking for a car this is the place to go. I was really interested on a car and came down second time to finalize the deal l but the response I got both from the sales guy and the manager was not good. I had also called them several times yesterday & I understand they were busy however I did expect a call from them but no one ever bothered to respond back. Sadly they had to lose a prospect customer.

I was sold a Yaris with frame damage and $1,100 worth of other accident damage done to it (the entire spindle assembly was shot). Know why? Because they sublet their inspections to Pep Boys. My personal mechanic’s exact words upon looking at my car were, “Wow. You got f**ked hard.”The manager is also very pushy, and pretty much embodies every stereotype of a used car salesman. I do not recommend this place.

My wife and I worked with Celinesse to purchase a new commute vehicle. We ended up buying a white 2016 Toyota Camry. The entire experience was very stress free.The price is non-negotiable, you know what you are paying up front, so if you have done your homework it is always on the low end or lower than Kelly Blue Book Value.During the test drive I noted how the vehicle seemed to be out of alignment with a right pull. Celinesse assured me the car has been aligned, but put it into the process to be re-examined with the proper alignment documentation I requested.Their is a process as part of the sales where they go through different purchasable add-on warranties for the vehicle. This process was very low pressure and you commit to what you feel would be in your own best interest and needs.So I bought the car at around 30-31k miles. At this point have driven it for a few months and had it go through its 30k maintenance repairs at my local Toyota dealer. Everything was clean. 37k miles now and still handling great.REMEMBER: you are buying a used vehicle. It is up to YOU to do your due diligence and inspect the vehicle before purchasing.Great experience 5/5. I recommend everyone to look at Hertz Car Sales in Hartford now when they are in the market for a used car. I intend to keep shopping here for my future vehicle needs first and foremost.

I had called to inquire about a Nissan Versa that was on their lot, and had called them to make sure it was still available, since I would have to make a 2 hour drive to get there. The sales man, Lucio, told me to come early on Saturday morning to test drive and and buy it that day. I called the day before to make sure it was still available and they knew I was coming. I got an email from Lucio late Friday night telling me to call him. I called early in the morning on Saturday to no answer, left and message, and began my journey down to Hartford.When I got to the dealership, they informed me that they sold the car last night. These guys wasted my time AND my money.

Just bought a 2017 Nissan Sentra on Friday I absolutely love it. From the time I got there I was greeted with friendly upbeat attitude and the team work was amazing between the guy and his associate I only remeber her name though. Celinesse was amazing! Didnt harass me for a million add ins she took what I said and listened instead of pushing. Now my car, I love it! No complaint here!!!

This is an awful place to buy a car. The “General Manager” is a frumpy, grumpy old man who told me my trade was worth way less than KBB value. I don’t understand what the gimmick was to come outside and then try to save me from going back to NY. I truly thought this place would be a different experience. My sales person was great, but every time I saw him exiting a conversation with the man in the glass office he seemed like he was coming back with dissapointing news. Idk how anyone can work under these work conditions... don’t bother calling me, you lost your chance and I bought a car. Oh, and where the hell is the water, or a service waiting area, this place looks and seems like a painful death. No energy in the building...

As I knew that I could not replace my car as they no longer are produced, I began my hunt. Working 60+ hrs a week and living in two states, you can say my time is limited. I looked ALL OVER and did A LOT of research primarily online - reviews and touched base with friends who have worked in various parts of the auto industry previously (including someone that used to be a Hertz employee).I wanted something low on miles, but I also wanted a bang for my buck. Additionally, I simply did not have the patience to deal with haggling with someone.Hertz was definitely the answer.I worked with Tony. He was EXCELLENT. He was great to work with, and he even checked in to see where I was with a vin check process after the sale was complete. If I needed an answer to a question he had it. Please go see Tony in the Hartford, CT location! We had previously shopped in the Johnston, RI location, but there are many more cars on this lot and the salesperson was just not like Tony.Now for the financing and the closing piece. I paid a portion in cash and was pre-approved for an auto loan, but I had definitely made some young adult mistakes that changed my rate... They even helped with that. I cannot remember the gentlemens name who processed the paperwork, but... he is a hoot, for lack of better wording :).The bottom line is, go in with realistic expectations and be knowledgeable about Hertz certified vs the 3 day rent to buy. Do your research and these guys will help you through the process. They will not push you at all. They allow you to have a very stress free experience. They were excellent, and we will be back again for a Jeep Patriot within the year.***Also, I forgot to include that my car had suddenly decided to RIP - I work in CT and my family is currently in RI - when a spot opened up even earlier to pick up my car, Tony sent me a text directly to ask me if I was interested. First of all, the buying process was ok, and Tony (the salesman) was kind and helpful. But the following things makes me want to give them a negative star!I purchased 2012 Nissan Sentra at this store on September 2014. The buying process was smooth and after waiting nearly 10 days (for the title processing), I got my car and it looks great. After two weeks, I found one of the vents did not blow air out, so I called them and get it fixed by their auto store not far from their location. Except that, everything was good until 4 months later, one of my friends wanted to buy a car and I shared my experience with him. I suddenly checked my car Vin Autocheck and surprisingly found an ACCIDENT!! The accident showed up as March 11, 2013 MINOR ACCIDENT OR VEHICLE DAMAGE REPORTED, almost one and a half years before I made the purchase!This definitely made me very unhappy at that moment. When I bought the car, they showed me a clean Autocheck report, with no accident at all. Only after 4 months, the accident showed up. The car now feels unsafe to drive, since I dont know how the accident happened and how the damage has been made. The second thing is when I’m trying to sell this car in future, the accident will decrease the resale value-which means Ive already lost a certain amount of money. In addition, no one knows whether there will be other accidents shows up in the future.I then contact with Tony first, he is still kind and trying to help me solving the problem. But he is not the boss here, so I have to call Steve Hutton (the manager) today, and it is him to push me to write this negative review. First, his attitude is bad, really bad, and he is impatient from the beginning. Second, he give me an impression that he does not want to solve the problem in any way. He told me there is nothing he can do. He stressed he the Autocheck shows no accident when the purchased has been made, so they dont have any responsibility. I understand the Autocheck part (nobody knows when accidents will be reported), but I argued that the car accident happened when the car was still a Hertz rental car, in fact, this car was a Hertz property all the time, so Hertz company knew the accident for sure, but he said we have nothing to do with Hertz. Oh really, their name is Hertz Car Sales! He hangs the phone when Im still talking to him!!What can I say? Maybe Im the unlucky guy. But this kind of things could happen again, and I want to warn you guys when considering buying cars from this store. You have to have your own mechanic check the car whether there was an accident or not. Dont trust them and the Autocheck they provided. Even if they know there was an accident, but as long as the Autocheck report is clean, they wont have any interest to let you know about it, and they are better off while you get stuck. And their manager sucks. Everybody wants to buy a good car with a competitive price, but not with accidents show up in future reports. I have an impression Hertz has a motivation to choose when to report the accident---Yes, after you buy it. This is not the end. Ill definitely contact the Hertz Car Sales up level persons and also their parent company Hertz, and fill complaint to the Attorney General of Connecticut and the Better Business Bureau.
