Beautiful and charming! We stayed in the F Scott Fitzgerald room and it was very nice with a spacious bathroom. Hosts/owners Pam and Garret were extremely welcoming and eager to make your stay the best possible. Delicious breakfast! I highly recommend.

Recently stayed at the Westphal Inn and everything was excellent. Nice, clean, quiet and charming room. Pam and Garret did a wonderful job of making Nicole and I feel welcome and Pams breakfasts are delicious. Highly recommend!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The Inn is beautiful!! We admired the beautiful turn of the century architecture, the thought Pam and Garrett put into each charming room, and loved learning about the history of the house. The four course breakfast was excellent, and the homemade cookies in the evening were a wonderful touch! Our stay at the mansion was the perfect beginning to our honeymoon!!

Pam and Garrett are a large part of the whole experience. The breakfasts were amazing. It is located in the heart of Hartford and close to sooo many wonderful restaurants. Definitely planning to go back again soon!

Where do I begin? This is a little piece of Heaven. The inn keepers Pam & Garrett are hands down the most amazing people to come across. Their hospitality is impeccable. We stayed in the Scott Fitzgerald suite. Very welcoming, comfortable, cozy the bed was so comfortable! The bathroom wow! Huge loved the Rain fall shower. And the claw foot tub enjoyed a nice soak. Food was delicious made with love and care. You can taste it in the food. This is must go to B & B. Fresh baked cookies & Wine & cheese. They go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and memorable. Great conversation and truly a place to unwind. We appreciate you guys! Thank you for making our stay very special. From Chicago. The owners are very kind and friendly, the rooms are uniquely themed after famous authors and have comfy beds. The breakfast is some of the best Ive had from a bed a breakfast, all made with local ingredients. I highly recommend staying here if youre ever in the area!

Stayed at this B&B last summer (8/2020) and had the most relaxing time that we had to come back(03/2021). The William Wordsworth Suite #4 was wonderful with an Air Bubble Massage Tub and fluffy Plush His & Her Robes. Breakfast was the best part full four-course including a sweet dessert. Cant wait to come back. Thank you Pam and Garret!

I really enjoyed my stay here. Its a different experience than most B&Bs though. My advice is if you want it to seem like you are staying at your grandparents place, but they also have really quirky and interesting rooms this is the place for you. The breakfast was basically a 4 course meal so try not to miss out on it as it was quite tastey. The host will also talk and tell stories so if you are looking for a breakfast where you sit and eat in silence this place could/would make you feel uncomfrotable. Personally I thought it was nice for the most part. Also there were fresh baked cookies that I snagged when I got back from a long day.I enjoyed my room and my experience, and far prefered it to a more corporate cold experience like I had on my first day in the town. Also while the bed was alright the pillows I got to rest my head on were awesome! Ive been looking for pillows like that for a long time, as the ones I used to love bascially disintigrated from all the use. I was gushing about it to the owners and they told me I could have two of them. I of course paid them because one always should, but that is the kind of hospitality they exibit. I think there are those that misconstrew their intentions, but they are a friendly bunch.

Husband surprised me for my birthday a trip here. Our room was so spacious, beautiful, romantic. Garrett & Pam were so friendly, polite and loved speaking about the home. The wine social hour was fantastic, the cookies in the evening were delicious. Oh and the 4 course breakfast was absolutely deliciously perfect. I dont enjoy eggs and they were very pleased to offer me a different option.We will love to come back and enjoy a longer visit.

We wanted to stay somewhere that wasnt your traditional hotel for our anniversary. We live in Hartford but wanted to stay local and help local businesses during these hard times. Very glad we chose to stay with Pam and Garrett at the Westphal! As soon as you walk in you can see their love and effort on full display. Our room was perfect. The breakfast was spectacular. I think weve started a new tradition. Thank you both for making our anniversary so great. See you again, and see you around town 😊

I dont know much about the rates since I didnt pay for my stay but it was a nice couple nights. Plenty quiet. Nice owners. Keep in mind you get a really nice breakfast which might cost you $$ elsewhere.

This beautifully restored Manson is definitely a place you want to stay when you are in the Hartford area. No better way to start the day than to have a four coarse breakfast served with hot cinnamon sunset tea. Not only being the best breakfast ever so is the tea. They have a wine social with cheese and crackers. Dont forget to have the fresh made cookies each night. Nice downtown within walking distance. Garrett and Pam make you feel at home.

You quickly notice Pamelas joy in helping the Bed and Breakfast guests experience a wonderful time.Garrett seems to be a detail-oriented operations manager. He is currently fixing exterior damage from a recent storm. Inside and out, he wants all of us to take great photographs.Local Guides may find Garrett to be formal or constrained. Amazing place, run by amazing folks. We were on a difficult memorial trip to Fort Campbell to honour our Son.Really needed relaxing, quality stress release time. And found it here..Dived into the elegance and history. Enjoyed the people and wonderful breakfast. Hartford is also a very cool community. Like classy golf trips its here.Highly recommend you check them out.

Loved my stay at the Westphal Mansion Inn! So homey, clean and comfortable. Pam cooks a fresh, delicious 4 course breakfast every morning and Garret keeps great company while you eat. You can wander in and out of the unoccupied rooms to self-tour the mansion. They’ve done a tremendous job of renovating and decorating the themed rooms. Staying here made my business travel much more enjoyable and less lonely than staying at a hotel. I’ll be a repeat visitor for sure!

What a gorgeous home, bed and breakfast. Attention to every little detail. So warm and inviting from the moment you watch through. The smell of cookies in the air. The rooms are breath taking. Extreme comfort and hospitality, mixed with a feeling and appreciation for history and charm. Was a wonderful evening. The breakfast was very good. Pride on local businesses, sustainability, good eats and good sleeps! Very hospitable.

Great experience. My wife and I went here for a recent anniversary. The proprietors, Garret and Pamela, were awesome and accommodating.We stayed in the very comfortable Shakespeare suite.My wife recently broker her foot, and they could not have been more accommodating. They brought us a phenomenal breakfast in our room.This place is terrific for romantic getaways and local business travel.

I wanted a beautiful space for my bridesmaids/moms and I to take getting ready pictures before my wedding in September. All I can say is The Westphal Mansion was the perfect place! We rented the Walt Whitman Suite, which has the most lovely blue painted walls and semi-private balcony. Unfortunately we were in a time crunch and werent able to take pictures in other spaces of the mansion, but the parlor or the grand staircase would have been gorgeous photo ops as well! My husband and I then stayed at the Inn on our wedding night and it was so nice to come back to a quiet, relaxing and romantic space rather than a commercial hotel. The owners were very accommodating and kind :). We did not have time for breakfast in the morning, but Im sure it was lovely! We look forward to staying at Westphal again in the future! Highly recommend!

We stayed in the F. Scott Fitzgerald suite for our wedding night and really enjoyed our stay. The mansion is beautifully restored, the room was lovely, and the breakfast was excellent. The couple who own it were great hosts and made us feel at home. I thought it was very sweet that they baked gluten free muffins from scratch for me because I can’t eat gluten. I would definitely recommend staying here.

This incredibly detailed, and painstakingly restored B&B is a curated experience from beginning to end. With period authentic antique furniture, art, wallpaper, rugs, flooring, etc. it feels like a museum you get to spend the night in. (a fantasy I have dreamt of since I was a child) The caretakers/designers/restoration experts/owners/operators Garrett and Pam really love what they do, and it shows. The mansion features 8 suites dedicated to 8 classic writers from William Shakespeare to Mark Twain to Louisa May Alcott. It is a book lovers paradise with not only the 8 famous authors works in their respective suites, but all sorts of interesting books, new and old, on every available surface. Hundreds of books can be found around any of the 3 floors, in little reading nooks at the ins and outs and ends of each hallway, corner, and landing. The gift shop for all ages always has local artist and artisans goods and there is something for everyone! Easily in the top 5 places to stay the night in WI.

We had an amazing time for our first bed and breakfast experience. Pam and Garret are very personable and amazing at what they do. The care and restoration they have put into the mansion is absolutely amazing. They are knowledgable and involved in the community, which is great when you dont have a lot of knowledge about the area. The breakfast was amazing and Pams store is really unique. We didnt want to leave!

Our stay at the Westphal Mansion Inn Bed & Breakfast was absolutely amazing! The mansion is gorgeous inside and out. We stayed in the William Shakespeare Suite and it was the perfect atmosphere for a romantic getaway. Pam & Garrett were fantastic hosts and extremely hospitable. This is a beautiful place to stay. Close to shopping and entertainment. But you can easily be in the room and never leave the home. Its relaxing and comfy

I love the themed rooms!, The whole place is clean, and well kept. I love all the original architecture! The owners are knowledgeble and friendly. I would stay here over a hotel any day!

Wm. Shakespeare Suite was $265 not $242 as advertised. No thermostat control in the room, which was kept oppressively hot.
