(7/14/2021) Changing this from a 5 star experience to 1 star. Just got a notice in the mail that my next months rental will go up by over $80 a month ($260.25 to $345.55...over 30% increase)! On their mailing they state the following BS As a month to month rental provider, our rates are reviewed and adjusted depending on current market conditions. I dont know what theyre talking about because other rental spots Ive seen in the surrounding area are the same prices they were when I originally looked back in April when I got this unit at Extra Space Storage. Ive only been in the unit for 4 months too. If I didnt have only 1 or 2 months to go, Id definitely be out soon. Other storage places Ive been to never increased it by this much and after a short time (usually it was at least 6 months before increasing the price) BUYER BEWARE. Also there is a clause on this mailing that states This rate change notice will only go into effect to the extent permitted by applicable law. Just because you can doesnt mean you should. Id be more understanding if they moved it up maybe half at $40 or if I had been in the unit over a year ....but an $80 increase 4 months in is completely unacceptable... definitely buyer beware....$345.55 now for a measly 10 ft x 10 ft unit.(April 2021) Easy online rental with everything spelled out for you. Good map showing you where your storage unit is so you know where to park even before showing up. Got a nice follow-up call from JP asking me if I had any questions. He also helped me out a month ago when I had not yet decided to purchase a unit and never pressured me into getting anything since I wasnt quite ready then.

Renting a storage space for the first time was such an easy and smooth process thanks to Orlando. He answered all of my questions and made sure I was aware of all policies and safety measures put into place throughout the facility.

Extra space storage in Hansbrouk Heights had super easy online check in, when I arrived after hours my key and lock were ready for me at my unit, couldn’t have been easier the door codes were text to me . I met the manager the next day who went out of his way to make sure everything went seamlessly.I wanted to say most impressive were the instructions from beginning to end were easy step by step, super easy to follow, usually instructions are vauge and leave you guessing, the place was clean, free of any trash, it even smelled clean. I felt like my property was safe and there are cameras everywhere.Only thing I would change is I’m a night shift worker and I had hoped for 24 hour access but it all worked in the end.

Had a rented unit and after the 3rd payment he told me that my payment would be 98.00 when I only paid 67 each month and I called, ask and the manager the only thing he told me when he asked him because that increase in my Bill was that the one next to him mine paid more and that is not my problem I hired a service at a price and I meet my payment I hired that service indefinitely but given the situation I changed my storage

I would have given 4 stars because there isnt enough parking, also the role up doors didnt work the weekend I was moving out stuff, and I find the price tight for what you get. This Extra Space Storage location is the best! They are more then just storage. During this pandemic they have shown great compassion in waiving late fees. They have give me a courtesy to avoid having to charge me a late fee. Now this might sound crazy but these courtesy calls are more like receiving a call from a old friend. Even before this unfortunate pandemic I have personally witness their professionalism and compassion. For example there was a very rude customer who did not want to go over the rental contract which was for her protection and JP didn’t waiver in the slightest from his high standard of professionalism and she wound up renting a storage unit. After dealing with such a rude customer I asked JP how do you do it in terms of being so even keeled and professional. His friendly and personable demeaner never changes. Then there was another time in which there was an old man who was a long time customer and had fallen ill and they worked with him as he had fallen behind. I have always been greeted with a friendly smile and was always made to feel like I was more than a number or dollar sign but as a person. From the first day that you move in to up until your last the level of service never changes as it is always first rate. The place is always so clean and sanitize which has never been more important than now. They have a security system in place which they monitor and review to keep your stored items safe. JP & Orlando the manager at this location are the reason why I choose to store my things with Extra Space and the reason why I will continue to use Extra Space storage for all of my storage needs going forward. Once you have stored with JP & Orlando you will not trust storing your valuable items with anyone else. A company is only as good as the employees that represent it and JP & Orlando makes Extra Space look good. Lastly Orlando the manager at this location who replaced another great manager has been nothing short of amazing!

Refused to issue credit for next month payment, no services rendered, unfortunate they werent able to keep me as a customer. Card charged 6/15, cancelled 6/18, charging me for the full month when storage unit is empty claiming need 10 days verbal notice.

I just left Extra Space Storage on Rt. 17 and am renting with them for the first time. I cannot say enough about how great an experience it was.The staff is friendly, helpful, and efficient. Every one I spoke to on the phone, including Danny the manager, was courteous and professional. Today, Rosemary was in the front office to get me set up with my unit. She was an absolute pleasure to work with and explained everything in incredible detail. It was a tough day with terrible rainy weather, and she was just a ray of sunshine!The facility itself is clean, secure, spacious, and very affordable. Ive used several storage places in the past, but Extra Space blew them all out of the water. I would not hesitate to use them time and time again in the future.Long story short, wonderful staff and a great option to store with to leave you feeling completely at ease about your belongings in their home away from home.

JP made the process stress free and advised on the best size unit and regarding payment expectation/plan. Always get great service from JP and Dan and the rest of the team.

Excellent experience. I discussed dates to start storing materials with the staff and were very accommodating. When movers came to drop off my belongings and needed a bigger unit they were able to accommodate quickly and easily. Very helpful and easy to work with. We already have a storage unit here, and needed a larger one. JP quickly transferred our account and credited us money since it was mid-month. The units are always clean and well kept. Its always a little chilly in there, so wear your sweaters! We are thoroughly pleased with our choice to store our belongings here!

An update to my last review - I had a space here for 21 months. I cannot recommend this facility highly enough. I didnt see my things once over that time and when I came back there was barely any dust on them. They keep the facility clean as a whistle. Great security too. JP is amazing - he went above and beyond to make all of the logistics easy for me from far away and the day of move out he was right there for anything I needed. This building was a bit out of my way when I first started looking but Im SO GLAD I chose this facility! A+++*****Renato was incredibly helpful. He showed me all of the units I wanted to see - talked through all of my options with me. He was patient and he even found me the best deal on a larger unit while I was there so I upgraded by 250 cu ft. for only $10 more per month. Havent moved in yet but I expect it to be hassle-free
