Great product. Purchased the header (heater box eliminator) for my VW Bus with the type 4 engine. These fit perfect and require no removal of the push rod tubes. This setup allowed me to bolt the older pre FI exhaust setup from a bus to the header directly. Highly recommend the type 4 header for anyone with a Fuel Injected Bus with busted up heater boxes. Great customer service, great quality, and fast shipping from California. These have been installed on my Bus for about 6 months now and are great!1 year update: still running great and in great condition. No issues at all with over heating. Highly recommend!

Eddy & his team are fantastic. They charge fairly compared to the manuftucting service centers & do such comprehensive checks to make sure your all areas of your vehicle is verified. Their work (for brake/rotor replacement, oil change, and more) is amazing & I think its a hidden gem.

Update:Right, George thank you for being a standup guy and making things right! George was able to help and locate the rods and materials that I had provided and corrected the mistake. Sourcing those NLA parts werent easy and it was a stressful moment. So trust this shop and I would say shops like this are getting harder and harder to come by. Ya, I did not ask for a copy of the work order but what rose from the experience was trust still exist...doing business the ole school way like way way way back...Original Review:What a bummer, I took a set of rods in for services and provided 8 rod bolts as replacement for the old ones. The deal was to press in those new rod bolts, new bushings, resizing the big ends, and balancing. So I went pick them up today, came home and found out they werent the ones that I had sent in. One rod had a bit of pitting on the bearing surface, and what worst was they did not use the rod bolts that I had gave them. Those were some special rod bolts that I had ordered from UK, and totally $120. I hope they did not lose them and will do whats right...what is happening to pride and workmanship and delivering promises? I knew I could had bought a new set of rods for less but thought why not giving work to a local business. May be this local business didnt need work as it took 2 months to turn these around...what is going on here as this should be a 5 stars shop?

Eddie and Josh are by far the best! Ive been having my vehicle serviced at European Motor Works since they opened and they always get the job done in a timely manner, inform you of needed work prior to performing it and they never apply pressure to have a service performed. There have been a couple times when either Josh or Eddie stayed after closing because I was running late to pick up my vehicle. They are EXCEPTIONAL! !!!!

Josh and Eddie have serviced my BMW for many years, and now my MB for many years. They are fast, reasonably priced, and very knowledgeable.

I am continuously impressed by the guys at European Motorworks. They do great work quickly and for fair prices. Thats the trifecta for mechanics.A couple of times over the past few years Ive shopped work around, convinced that a shop in San Francisco couldnt possibly have the best prices, but they routinely beat quotes from shops Ive checked with in the East Bay.I was a bit hesitant to write a positive to review, because Im fearful that the best way to ruin a great shop is to overload them with too much demand. However over the years Ive seen their workload vary from time to time and theyve been realistic with when they can actually work on my car & stuck to the timelines theyve set.So by all means, come join me! Ive found the spot. Get your car that love it needs.

Great experience at European Motorworks - would highly recommend!

Were from El Dorado Hills and decided to go to SF for a long weekend getaway. We got in Thursday night and first thing Friday morning when we were leaving the hotel, a bellman stopped us when he noticed there was a leak under our car. One of the coolant tubes (passenger side) popped out of the thermostat housing and most if not all of the coolant leaked out. Unfortunately our car was no longer under warranty and there wasnt a recall though I think there should be. We called around and thankfully European Motor Works was able to take our car the same day. They were just a half mile away so I was able to fill the car up with water, push the pipe back in and make it over there without it overheating. Felt pretty confident in them when I saw a Mercedes CLS, BMW 540 and a Rolls Royce Corniche in their shop. They were able to order the parts but they wouldnt get in until Monday and said they should have it done by Tuesday. We Ubered the rest of the weekend and took Monday off in hopes it would get done that day so that we could get back home to our son and not take another day off from work. Thankfully they got all the parts in early enough that they were able to finish the car Monday, and we were able to get back home that evening. They did a great job, they were great to talk to and very accommodating.
