I am sorry to say this, but the empanadas were not what i expected. The dough is too soft, not crunchy, its thin and not hearty. The fillings were alright. I am still looking for an empanada with a crumbly, hearty crust. I make my own, but takes too much time.

I ordered a small sandwich ($6.99) and Ill have to say that the roll that they made my sandwich was by far the best Ive had in probably 20+ years! Definitely recommend the roll, the sandwich was good and tasty too. The meat on the other hand was paper thin and really took away from what could of been an outstanding sandwich.

Not sure if they are open, went in on Saturday and the guy outside said they were closed. I passed by again on Sunday and there was a sign on the door, but wasn’t able to read it. The empanadas are so good though ! Wish they were open !

We love the empanadas. We bought all flavors but tried three so far. The spinach is juicy and very tasty. The spicy beef and chicken are flavorful, though the spicy beef is very spicy, yummy and satisfying. There are also spicy chicken and regular beef.

The front door has a sign supposedly from the Food Network for their empanadas. I think they purchased the sign, if not In going to have to rethink watching the food network. I tried the spinach and the spicy chicken. Both had no flavor and the spicy one was just hot were you couldnt enjoy it if it had flavor. Never again, wasted money.

This location has a fairly large market and carne section as well as a deli section where you can order sandwiches the most delicous Argentinian empanadas in SoCal hands down.First off this location is a little off putting. With awkward parking. But I live very close to this spot so I put up with it and care no never mind about this anymore. Dont let anything steer you away from your goal. The Empanadas.Call in ahead to get a dozen or more ready. They take a few minutes to heat up and get them ready for eating immediately.So far Ive had all the flavors they make a few dozen times.My fav. Is the Beef for savory and sweet is Apple when its made since Apple isnt made very often. I get sad when its not avail. But when its there I order a dozen of the Apple alone. Take them home and heat them up a little add some Vanilla ice cream and bam an awesome dessert for parties or just your self ;)****Important***** Do Not Forget The Chimichurri. This is ideal for enjoying these wonderful empanadas and kicking them up a notch when your ready for that added acidity.The Spicy beef and Spicy chicken have a tendency to be really spicy most of the time. So if you are not used to spicy food. Skip them and get the plain Chicken and Beef.Spinach is nice and creamy. Not irony tasting and really sets the mood for the meat flavors in between them. I eat a beef, have a spinach and then chicken and vice versa to break the monotony of just meat.How I do it. I call it in. A dozen mixed empanadas. I ask for Apple, if they have it I order a dozen of those as well. The Empanadas hold up very well in the fridge if you dont eat them all right away. So dont worry.On to the market section. Lots of Latin American goods including an array of Latin sodas. Very nice touch.I like to get the Peruvian cancha and fry them up at home (Peruvian popcorn) also the Amarillo pastes or other sauces and pickles to make your own meals at home. Pretty epic and very nicely priced. No ripoff here.Well, I can keep writing longer but you get the point.Give it a try, support a local place. You wont be dissapointed.Enjoy and Stay Wild Yall!

I tied the chicken and beef empanadas, they were delicious. Decided to try another place and compare, these were 100% better cant wait to come back only problem is parking it sucks.

A good spot for empanadas. Its just a little supermarket so theres no seating. Well there is one table outside but thats about it.The empanadas are kind of small, but they arent too expensive. I would recommend getting about three or four. They arent too healthy though so you will end up feeling a little sick after. But it wasnt too bad. I would come back

My go to place for a quick lunch. Always getting steak sandwich with avocado and grilled onions. Their French rolls are baked in-house nice and soft. A good sandwich is 90% in the bread :-). You got to try it to believe it. Shout out to the deli crew! Great job. I would pickup my carne asada meat from there as well and it is the most tender cut ever. The in-house butcher really knows his stuff. I also got the rib eye there but for some reason it wasnt as tender of a cut as the ranchera. Cant figure that out but probably need to ask the butcher as my expectation is set so high from the deli and the ranchera cut. To mention this place was on my radar for their empanadas initially but I dont even recall the last time I got any :-) just cant get enough of my favorite sandwich.

Hi, we went with my husband today to Continental Gourmet the one in Lomita. I love the empanadas and the sandwiches. We have going for years to the Hawthorn one. But today we were very disappointed because the sandwiches were not good. Bread was old and stale. The ham was very thick and very salty. No mayo on the sandwiches, lettuce were cut a day before and were brown. Completely different taste. I am afraid to try the empanadas because they might be different from the ones in Hawthorn. I missed my delicious sandwich today. I gave half to my daughter and she said immediately that the sandwich was not the same. I didnt tell her anything and immediately she said something about it.

This place has a lot of potential. I live across the street and would visit more often, if it had a different ambiance. I feel like I stepped back into a sketchy 1970s mini market. The energy drink selection is sad, but they make up for it with their beer and wine selection. I like going there to pick up seasoned meat or chicken and a couple vegetables for dinner. I feel like if i was fat i wouldnt be welcomed because their isles are so narrow. Most times their drinks are not cold enough and they have an old POS system that makes me wish I brought cash which I usually dont carry; I wouldnt even dare to ask them if they take Android or apple pay. Their image needs a little investment. Great empanadas though. And I love their frozen food selections from latin America.
