Shopping with a friend that was older and had an emergency bathroom need and was denied and told to figure it out. We dumped all our fabric and I haven’t been back since. 🤷🏻‍♀️Compassion goes a million miles in my book. If I want rude people and no customer service I’ll go to downtown LaYou have to be careful because they will weigh fabric and hope you don’t see a large hole or gash in it rendering it useless.Don’t you dare ask them to cut off the bad stuff and give you the rest.Over priced notions.Not pleasant.

Its pretty big with plenty of stock that does move quickly. Their prices are very good and the quality is very good. The downtown LA garment district has more choices as there are many stores there but some/much of it is inferior quality or equal or higher priced than SAS.SAS is good value. If you cant find the material you need then you have to go elsewhere. If there is something you like but dont commit to, then it might not be there the following week as this is a busy store.

I can tell you as a person who loves to sew this is one of my favorite all-time places the women there are little bit older their patients may be a little shorter but I can guarantee you you find what you need. I stopped here all the time to Grant little pieces it keeps me from driving to Downtown LA looking for a parking space paying Ransom money just to have your car being jeopardized being broken into this place here has a small parking lot in the back and have some parking thats allowed to you in the streets do not park in the hardware store I see people get their cars towed and you dont want to do that just for some $4 fabric. If your person who love fabric this is not a kit for any place you want to be able to concentrate and take your time and touch and feel all on the fabric if you have some kids that are impatient they should be left at home. They have a nice selection of African print Fabrics there as well.

Another jewel in the crown of Hawthorne. I dont go there often and I dont sew too many dresses but when I do need something SAS seems to have it. Nice place, sometimes a little crowded at checkout... 😎

Lots of variety. Buttons needs to be better organized than just thrown in a bunch of boxes. I spent a good hour or so, shifting through several boxes to find matching buttons.

Sas is the BEST fabric store. It’s always my first stop before going to Joann’s or anywhere else. They have an amazing selection and the price cannot be beat. I’ve bought upholstery fabric, foam, batting, elastic, you name it! Hands down one of my favorite stores for any sewing project.

Definitely come here instead of downtown la if youre a beginner, they have lots of fabrics organized pretty neatly and itll be easy to find what youre looking for. definitely ask if youre having a hard time finding something in the shop theyll help you out(Also i know a lot of yall need elastic for masks right now, they have it in the front just ask and theyll show you what kinds they have)If you go downtown you have to go with a specific store in mind to get what you want but this store has almost everything!!!!

There are not too many fabric stores left, unless you go to downtown Los Angeles.You can find a lot of sewing notions at a reasonable price. Some of the same fabrics you find elsewhere are at SAS for a third of the cost.

You never know what you will find here. Always find surprises when you shop here. No carts, only hand baskets.

Wonderful place. I love buying fabric here. The selection of fabric keeps getting better and better. They also have a number of other stuff like helps in the creation of wonderful crafts. Prices are still very reasonable and the staff is very friendly and helpful. It is in my neighborhood. I highly recommend this place.

Wonderful selection of fabrics. Excellent prices. Good parking around back. They are very accommodating and give you great service. The store is more like a warehouse filled with fabric. If visited in January its cold in there.

An employee demanded to see my “papers” (my dog was extremely well behaved(duh, kick me out if my dog is untrained)) for my service dog and told me I had to be careful cause my dog is a big dog.... Also insisted that legitimate service dogs have “papers”.Extremely rude and unprofessional.I’d rather drive downtown for a deal on linen than return to this place.

I rate this business very low because they do not have a public restroom. They we very unfriendly when asked. I could only spend a few minutes in the store because I had to leave to find a restroom. This is a very large store, so it would not be difficult for them to provide a restroom for their paying customers.

SAS is a great fabric store been going there for 27 years. Always find something. If you need thread, elastic, buttons ( of every kind) trim they have it. Every kind of fabric for making clothes or if you want to reupholster. Hooks,sashes, needles rhinestones!! You name it they have it and they are very helpful, great prices. Highly recommended.

This place has tons of fabrics to choose from with print...different texture...colors...lengths and widths. They have buttons.yarn.threads.bra extenders.fabric glue.jewlery.baby shower decor.patches.stuffing for pillows and blankets.pillows.fake flowers.pins.hair pins.laces.tassles.packaged pillow shams. I have been coming here since 1996. Same middle eastern lady still works there.

SAS Fabrics is a discount fabric story located in Hawthorne CA. I have found the store full of fabric of different types. Each time you visit there the selection will be different. Prices are reasonable. The place is not the best kept up store. But well worth looking into for fabric.

Ive been going here literally for years. My mom is into designing and fashion, I always go with her. we love this place ... Being that it is the only reliable well priced fabric store in our city.

Great fabric store, one of the largest selection of high quality fabrics.The staff was extremely helpful. Unfortunately they didnt have the color we needed. They referred me to Joanns Fabric at Del Amo Mall before going downtown Los Angeles.I will definitely return for sewing projects in the future.

If you love good quality fabric and dont mind digging for treasures, this place is for you. Im from another state and only have JoAnns nearby. This place has wonderful fabric for clothing. I was able to buy 100% linen, cotton/linen twill, beautiful rayon at $2.99 per yard. You can by pieces by the pound. I had to mail 2 boxes back home. Even though the postage was $45, I still saved a ton of money. The woman who cut my fabric was wonderful, telling me the contents of each fabric. I will be back if Im in the area again.

Its like a fabric treasure hunt- you never know what you are going to find. Ive scored on some of the best fabric here. The workers are very well knowledged and seem to know where everything is at even though its super jam packed with odds and ends. Great prices and Ive even found fabrics that I couldnt find anywhere in the l.a garment district.

One of my fave fabric haunts. Never know what youll find. Fabric by the pound. Not great lighting but great prices. Set a limit before you go. It is easy to spend way too much here.

I went today. It is great because they have variety, but customer service is horrible, and some of the customers were rude. Hard to ask questions, and it was the grace of GOD I found what I was looking for.Asked for manager, and was told they were off. Asked for managers name and felt I had to twist an arm. I get around on a disability device due to a injury that causes pain. This store is impossible for a person in that kind of condition. Ignored a lot. No method of finding things so I truly lucked out I found what I needed.Went across to a 99cent store across from this one total difference in respect, and being treated with kindness, and understanding. Because of that, I didnt lose so much time.Whatshould of been a two trip tops, turned to be over twice that long, and because of it I missed a ride to a evening commitment .I had to come a long way, and it was not by car. That is the only reason I bought what I needed. Grr!

If you dont mind digging, this place is great. It is like a thrift store for fabric. I have been going here for about 12 years. Plenty of fabrics on bolts, but you may not be able to find every color. They have silks, organza, even upholstery fabric. Some fabrics by the pound, like jersey/knits. Lots of sparkly fabrics too

This place has everything that you could think of when it comes to sewing, fabrics, etc. Best thing is they sell scratch fabric if you want to practice sewing. No need to go downtown.

I used to go to SAS when I lived in Phoenix, AZ so learning there was one near me when I moved out here was exciting! I love taking my time, wandering around, and looking at the enormous selection of fabrics, notions, and odds and ends. I didnt really have anything in mind when I visited and I ended up leaving with thread, a couple yards of fun fabric, and a unicorn headband for my daughter LOL. The staff were friendly and didnt make me feel rushed when I had to think of how many yards I wanted.

They had the goodies at a fair price and the girs were a get help.

I have been coming here for 20 years. They used to have more fabrics for sale by weight which was wonderful for my high school sewing class, but now they have a wider selection of upscale fabrics and upholstery at quite fair prices. They have a wonderful selection of trims and notions at deep discounts as well. Give yourself time to really explore and dig around. It is like a warehouse with shelves more than a shop. All of the employees are lovely and happy to help...unless they are servicing a long line. If you have a project in mind, it is certainly worth looking here.

I was there just to pick up a few pieces of cloth basically for tables, so I did not need anything expensive and had a limited budget, so I pull material from one of the bins marked a specific price, when I got to the counter that was not the price and the girl behind the counter would not budge in fact she made me feel like I was lying to her about the price. Basically not the end of the world but I wonder how they can tell all there prices in there? Whatever just make sure you know what your taking up to them before all kinds of friction and stares start....

This is such a great place to find good prices on good fabrics. I got my fabric fro here to make me purse to carry around. This place also has a better selection than Walmart and better prices than Micheals Craft Store. But I am not trying to put hate on any of those places. I highly recommend this place then Walmart of Micheals because Im sure youll find what your looking for. :)

This store is one-stop shop you can get anything here that you usually would find downtown or other popular fabric stores. Staff is helpful, no bathroom, its a huge store, a variety to choice from.

Great selection of fabrics and materials, and the staff is very helpful. I found a cute striped fabric and a beautiful African print that I plan to make dresses out of.

If you need fabric, accessories for decor on your garment, zipper or thread this is the place to shop. I have been shopping at SAS since the 90s. I have introduced friends to SAS and they are happy their first trip to find everything they need for their project. Staff is careful in recommending pointers on projects also.

My mom loves this place. She can usually find the items she wants while getting lots of new ideas from other stock.
