Honestly- the service is wonderful. Its the policies that suck. Alicia is wonderful. She really listened. And then told me what the unfortunate procedure is that she has to follow. Its not like they have a choice. They have to do what the big boss, Sears, says to do.She was kind and understanding. And yes I still had to wait a long time, since they are understaffed. But when it was my turn, she made me feel taken care of.I also spoke to another guy at the counter before Alicia came back in from helping someone else- and he was very polite in telling me Alicia would be back to help me soon.All of these 4 stars are for the over-worked staff.Zero stars for sears for understaffing and having horrific policies and hurdles. However, the Sears store has the same exact problem.Waiting room is clean and spacious, cable tv, but uncomfortable futons.

Horrible Sales Associate. I was parked in Southland Mall parking lot in front of the Sears Auto Center. This individual decided to tap my window and tell me that if I park here again, he will have me towed. Mind you, Im in my car, resting, and minding my own business. I then called Sears Auto Center who told me they needed a name in order for me to make a complaint. I went back to this individual, who was sitting in a White Honda Civic with a handicap license plate. He refused to give me his name after I ask multiple times. I then pushed in his mirror, which is able to bend. He then went into his trunk and pulled out a tie down strap. He came towards me like to threatened me, then proceeded towards my car. He then stop because I told him I will call 911 for his behavior. This associate needs to get fired for his behavior and action.

I had a great experience. Not only they done work 3 times faster than they estimated. But they dealt with a car that couldnt start. Its a BMW, that will not even start if detecting new battery, and should be reprogrammed, they did that. Impressive. The quote I got wasnt the best deal on the market. 30 percent more than pep boys. HOWEVER, I went to pep boys first that day and I had to go somwhere else!

I went to Sear Auto Center Hayward because I had a light on that said check Air Pressure. This female Associate came out A. and interrupted the technician who was checking my tires and started checking them with him. She tells me The tread number is a 3 so you need 4 new tires and legally we cant even rotate your tires at a 3. So I choose the tires I wanted and ask how long it would take? She responds 2 hours! I asked about that amount of time and she says at least I didnt say 5 hours! On the paper work she gave me she wrote Promised to be finished at 6 PM, blatant lie! I found out later that your tires are not considered legally worn until the Tread number is at 2!So 2 hours past and another male Associate comes into the customers waiting room, which was dirty, had no air conditioner and the furniture was dirty & uncomfortable with only one electrical outlet!So this guy J comes out after 2 hours and tells me we only had 2 tires so Im going to go get 2 more for you. They didnt check to see if they had the product to do the job? I could have come back another day! Long Story short (1) I was there from 1:49 - to - 5:00pm (2) I was lied to from the time I pulled in (3) It was 90 degrees and no air in the waiting room, but the air was blowing in the front room where the workers were.The technician that worked on my car did a good job (two stars for him) although this is not about him but about the associates that took the order and the Customer service! 4 hours to get 4 tires put on and balanced? 1 hour per tire?Im very upset about this!!! I have a warranty on my tires so yes, I will go there if I have a problem. This is my experience, maybe it wont happen to you? Maybe?

I use to have all of my vehicles serviced at Sears Auto Service. I absolutely will never patronize their business again! First and foremost, It is like winning the lotto if they answer the phone. I could never get through, and it doesnt matter what time you call. I recently made a complaint about the terrible service with the corporate office, and they had the store manager of 4 days to call me back. The only thing he could tell me is he had only been working for four days, and he is the only one answering the phone. He never mentioned that he would work on the issue but only kept saying, Im the only one here answering the phones. Very disappointed!

Update: This situation only got worse. The manager agreed to switch the warranteed battery if I provided a video of the smoking/bubbling battery,which was takenand I have on my phone. Then he calls back and say he will no longer honor that and says he will have to have a mechanic look at the battery, which is unheard of. I provided a receipt from the mechanic that rebuilt my transmission showing the alternator was good since that was also brought to question. I also purchased a new Interstate battery from Costco due to this issue. The Interstate battery does not have the same symptoms. Still the manager refused to replace it. Original review:I took a 90 mins round trip drive to get a defective battery replaced since the local store I purchased the battery from is now closed down. I got to the store and was told the battery wasnt in stock but might be on Wednesday, at 3pm. I asked for a refund. I was refused, which was not a problem. The problem is my car is ready for pick up today, but I have no battery. Because the original battery is defective and the store doesnt have my battery or alternative battery in stock my options are 1) Pay to have my vehicle towed home and wait for the battery. Which would be another 90 min trip 2)Pay the mechanic shop storage to keep my car there longer until the battery is ready, which still will require another 90 min trip for battery pick up. 3) Purchase another battery elsewhere. The store rep. said he could talk to a sister store but has to first wait til Wednesday at 3pm to see if the battery comes in first. I asked if he could just call the store today to get the replace, explaining 1 and 2. He said no. Each suggestion I made was no. There was no accommodation made to help out, and I am super easy going. Instead it was waot til end of day Wednesday to possibly, maybe have a battery and make another 90 minute trip, which requires me missing 180 of work, at a minimum this week, plus w.e additional I will have to pay for tow or storage. All the way around from the defective battery, to the service there was no concern about the inconvenience caused or any care to try to accommodate even slightly based on my circumstances.

I came in on a Monday to buy a diehard car battery and explained my car to them and the size of the battery. The man then told me they were out of stock and to come back Wednesday. Sure, no problem. I came back on Wednesday to find out they had the diehard in a smaller size than I needed. I was told this is the correct battery for this car as it falls in the right category 24F. So, I purchased it and noticed the terminals were on the opposite side of the battery and I had to turn it around backwards to install it. That and the battery was was too small to fit the factory support mount and the tray. Unhappy with the cost I spent and the improper fitments I returned it. After research I found that duralast batteries from auto zone are made from the same company as Diehard... they were a bit cheaper with the correct terminals and size!! Fit perfectly! Great performance CCA 750 which beats the CCA 700 diehard.

Sears used to be great, but now it is just horrible service now. I made a 2pm appointment online the week before. I came in and dropped off my car for a Fuel saver package. I shopped around the mall for an hour and 45 minutes. I came back and my car is still in parking lot. I went and complained that I had an appointment, and they said I had one car in front of me. So I went in the waiting room and took a short nap for 30 min. Before I took my nap, I saw that they were servicing all these A&E Carpet factory vehicles. I hope that my car would be done by then, but no! I woke up and asked about my car, and they still havent touched my car!!! Its been over 2 and a 1/2 hours now; for an oil change. They were also ignoring other customers service as well. Because one guys car was there before me. They were pretty much servicing these factory vehicles because they were paying more money. I asked for my damn keys back. The manager didnt even care or try to fix the situation. Wasted my whole time. No thank you. I will never go here again and I will never recommend this business to my people. I would only recommend this to my worst enemy.

They need to hire more people. Theres always a big line, and it takes 4 to 5 hours to get a an oil change. Not to mention, the staff should get some customer service training.

I usually recommend Sears Auto Centers, they typically have great costumer service. However, this site is far from being at par. They were way off the time they indicated that it would take and were unwillingly to unapologetic to longer wait. They actually gave an attitude when I stated that the time frame they gave me was passed long ago. I understand places can receive unexpected traffic but you should not quote a time frame if you cannot oblige to it and then be rude to a unsatisfy customer.

Made an appt to use this service this past weekend...having a 2000.00 shock and brake service done...but after reading these reviews...i never went in...this is obviously a place that doesnt care about their customers and Im all about service when Im spending thousands of dollars. Hopefully...management will see this post and not issue another canned insincere response... but take action to improve customer experiences once they see its now costing them money.

Seriously man! Ive been trying to call once every 5 minutes for the last 30 minutes, and Im either put on hold without any sort of greet, or simply hung up on. Sometimes they hang up right away, sometimes its after like 4 minutes. No courtesy what so ever, to even bother to explain why theyre backed up, or just to simply say theyre delayed. I dont think Im ever coming back to this place if thats how they treat their customers over the phone!

The efficiency of the clerks are very bad. I was 1st in line but still waited over 20 minutes before they were able to help me. I purchased a battery over 3 months ago, but it doesnt hold a charge so I took it in for checkup. Because they didnt install it for me so they asked me to bring the battery back. They could have told me this when I called the store before I went in. I then requested the manager, Jay, to help me. His attitude was even worse. I am a mild tempered person, but his bad attitude got me angry. He later refused to serve me because I told him that I was going to file a complaint against him. Up to this point, Ive always purchased all my batteries at this time. From now on, I will not go back to this store again. I strongly recommend everyone not to go to this store. It looks like I am not the only one who has had a bad experience with this store. I just found out there are many other customer complains against this store.

I wasnt going to write a review but management and customers need to know what I experienced.Im a retired Navy Chief (Mechanic) of 22 years. I also supervised a jet engine repair, test, ship and receiving business after retiring from the Navy for 14 years. Im qualified to write this review.Observations: Unqualified personnel operating balance equipment. Shop floor is filthy, especially around the balance machine. When brought to the attention of the supervisor or manager on duty the response was hes new. Unacceptable response for any supervisor or manager, there should never be personnel operating equipment they are not qualified for. This is a Safety issue for both the equipment operator and for the customer driving the vehicle. Also, during my first visit I noticed a woman walking through the shop with open towed shoes. Since when is that acceptable in a shop environment.I brought 4 new tires to be installed and balanced on my truck. (Amazon shipped them to me instead of this location thats how I got here). After the installation my truck shook so bad it was unbelievable... I actually thought there may have been a problem with the tires themselves... It was that bad.I brought the truck back as soon as I got back from my vacation. (A week later) The same manager was on duty and yes the same tech was assigned the job of re-balancing. As the tires were removed from the truck I noticed gross amounts or weights on the wheels in all 4 corners. Fortunately there was an older mechanic there that also noticed all the weight in the wrong places.The new mechanic had no business operating equipment he didnt know how to operate or balance tires with weight in that manner. Keep in mind this is a week later. (How many other customer tires has he attempted to balance). Even after being instructed not to put weights opposite of each other and how to operate the machine, he was going to do it again. I stopped him and asked the qualified mechanic to assist him. Then again the new mechanic not paying attention and working in a filthy environment rolled a tire over weights with glue on them and they stuck to the tire. He began to proceed with the balancing and I had to stop him again to inform him he was balancing in the weight that was stuck to the tire.If there is a training program here it is not taken serious. Who qualified the New Tech to operate this machinery alone? Does he and management fully understand the Safety issues, not to mention the tire and component wear associated with the condition? Its irresponsible.There needs to be a site visit from someone who gives a you know what so Management can get a handle on the issues and not continue to provide service to customers like this.

Service was completed an hour after the time they stated it would be. No big deal. They tried to help me get a special kind of transmission fluid which caused them to run behind. However, after purchasing 2 new tires I started to hear a very strange noise coming from my passenger side. Opened the hub cap to find two lug nuts fall off.

I made an appointment for 10:00a for an oil change. My friend took my car in for me since I had to work and my car has just now been taken in to be service at 1:10p. I do not understand the point of making an appointment just to have to sit for 3 hours to be serviced. This by far is the worst service I have ever received and it’s unfortunate my friend was trying to help me out and he has to wait for all of this. It literally makes no sense to even book an appointment then on top of that, wait an estimated 45m for the service to be complete. A 4 hour process when I made a 10:00am appt. Wow! Absolutely ridiculous... do not take your cars here! If I can give this location negative stars I would !

I would give it zero star if I could. This place is terrible at customer service, the manager disrespects customers and tells one lie after another to cover up their poor management. I went there for wheel alignment and brake fluid change. Knowing how busy they are at weekend, I made appointments three weeks ahead. The day of appointment, I was told that they could only do wheel alignment and was offered a new appointment next day (Sunday) to get the rest work done. Next morning I came back to the place, dropped off my car, and was told that the break service would be done in 1-2 hours. After waiting for 90 minutes, I called and was told that the technician hasn’t started working on my car. Even worse, 10 minutes later, I got a call that they would not work on my car that day at all.Jacady, the manager didn’t bother to explain why or offer solutions. He was rude at the phone and hang up on me. When I went back to the office and asked why, the manager made up excuses: Lie #1: there were 10 customers who needed wheel alignment before me, and technician could not get to my car. The truth was my appointment was at 10 am, that was the first appointment of the day. Lie #2: Jacady then said there were 5 appointments at 10 am. Well, even that I would be the 5th in line at worst. Lie #3: Jacady said he started working at 11 and didn’t know what’s happening at the back. The fact is that I saw him at 10 when I checked in. Lie #4: Jacady said brake services take 3 hours, so they needed to service customers who needed wheel alignment first. This is totally unacceptable, if people can jump in line WITHOUT appointments and came AFTER me, what’s the point of appointment?After this experience, I have no trust in this place. If customers are treated with no respect and integrity, I can’t image how other employees are being treated and how they would produce quality work to fix cars. Stay away from this place.

Unprofessional and apathetic, avoid at all costs.They overbook repairs due to walk-in customers which cause oil changes and other quick maintenance services to run 4-5+ hours from point of drop off, even with an appointment. They will upsell you and will do anything to avoid warranty repair work. Find a mom and pop shop and support good business.

Very very very slow service. It took me 3 hours to do a pre pirchase inspection. The staff wont care about customers unless you go amd speak to them. They didnt even know many customers were waiting at the checkout desk, when they were only sitting in the lounge room talking.

Very bad, use a 17 yuan discount to change the car oil, after the change said to charge 40 yuan. And you have to wait for 2 hours to make an appointment. You cant think of a big company as a lie.
