Amazing buying experience! I am totally new the bike world, and Im glad that I came here to learn about the different bike models and get advice on what style/size bike I should get. Everyone here is super helpful and knowledgeable. The owner, Ben, is great and takes the time to chat with customers and understand their needs. One of the main guys that helped me was Sebastian, who really helped me understand the importance of the size bike to get.I couldnt be more happy with my purchase of my new Specialized bike! But I was even more satisfied with the service experience I received from here. Since buying my bike, Ive been back to get some additional accessories as well, which they helped with installing. Also, they are taking every precaution during this time to protect customers. They installed a sink to wash your hands before you enter the store, and ensure everyone (including employees) wears a mask while inside. Hats off to Cyclepath for taking initiative to keep their customers safe!

What happened to this place, older family that used to run it were good people. Whoever they gave the store too is a scammer. Had my cousin go in for a mountain bike to hit trails with me and my cousin being a new rider the guy sold him a road bike instead and told him it’s a trail bike. He must have been a used car salesman until he took over. These are your local Hayward buyers you treat like this and wonder why everyone in Hayward goes to Eden bikes in Castro valley. Good luck here

Great shopping experience. Sebastian (I think thats his name, I got his name from the receipt) took his time explaining the different bike styles and was very patient (specially with myself being new to the biking world). The store is taking strict and proactive measure to keep everyone safe, that does mean standing in line outside for some time, but its totally understandable. Sebastian was very attentive and helped my bother and I until we left the store. He was kind enough to help me mount our new bike mount. Well be here again for sure!

Like several others have said in their reviews, this is not a friendly local bike shop. Its not one of those fun bike shops with the super cool dudes that love to ride and share their passion and excitment. These guys are more of the buy something or GFTO sorta folks. I understand not wanting to give anything away for free, but if you see someone struggling to get their bike in a car in tears because you treated them like a wallet instead of a person... it wouldnt kill you to go outside and lend a kind hand. It really doesnt cost you anything. I hope someone reads these reviews and recognizes the pattern. Your customer service sucks.

Welcome to Psychopath! My experience mirrors countless others. The fem guy in back, Mr. Insignificant, is a complete douche! Hes condescending, rude, and arrogant. How much $$ has this guy steered right back out the door only to be spent at a friendly neighboring shop? If he is Management, owner needs to dump this guy. He is literally sending customers right down the block Times are changing fast Mr. Bicycle shop guy, youre gonna need a B plan, Amazon is going to steamroll you right into bankruptcy. Today was my first visit to Cyclepath and I will never return.Honestly, there are several very good bike shops in the area. One of which I had just come from where I was treated fairly and courteously by the very knowledgeable owner. He didnt have the parts I needed, but happily told me where I could find them, spoke to me like an equal, and shared quite a bit of knowledge. Even though he didnt get my business today, he will definitely get my business very soon. He earned it. Avoid Cyclepath at all cost.

Charged $100 to assemble a 95% completed bike cuz they have to make sure everything is good and tuned up! Okay, came back and there’s a bent spoke and problem with the beads on the tires so they didn’t properly inflate. Really! what happened to the tuned up? Why didn’t someone call to advise on options? Why was the seat not all the way up as requested and on the work order? I knew their service was terrible but wanted to give them another chance and being close to the crib but think twice about going there!!! Not helpful at all, no one even cared to see how it fit.

I walked in the next day to make the purchase, that person wasnt there and the price was up 150 dollars, I waited til the next day when the same person was there and he said that he didnt remember me...lol...He tried to sell me on the deal from the day before... crazy.

Just went in for some work on an old trek road bike I converted into a fixed gear. Needed a good amount of work and they had everything I needed in store. I had to modify the frame myself but they upgraded chainring, rear gear, new chain and bottom bracket. Labor was reasonable around 40$ and part prices were average and close to online pricing. The sales staff and mechanic was helpful and knowledgeable as to what gearing would work well together and helped explain how it would affect my ride. I ended up picking up a saddle that was on sale too. I’ve been there a few times and haven’t had a bad experience yet, not too sure what the deal is with the other reviews. The shop even just lets people (many times kids) just walk in and use tools to make adjustments themselves. Seen it a few times when I was there. Even though I didn’t get a discount, they politely declined and I wasn’t’ sour about it. It never hurts to ask being a local city employee and all. This shop has a big inventory and even a “track” inside the store to test out the bikes. 5 stars from me I will forsure be back.

If you see a one star review, we must be talking about the rude Asian manager for sure.I was building up my road bike for the first time. Not sure about the internal routing and the shifter installation. Went there with my bike for help. And this Asian manager told me something like this: it costs about $200 to $300 to help me install everything in about two weeks. Adjusting the derallieur alone is about 40 or 50.... We are busy so we only pick valuable customers to service. I dont think you will be OK with the labor cost judging from your bike. There will be unknown problems so the labor cost may be even higher. So I went back home and watched some YouTube tutorial videos and get the job done. Next day, I went to the store again to buy the tyre lever. That Asian manager asked me how about the bike project. I said everything is done. He never said a word to me after that.

Yep, the Asian guy (Mgr). I was recently there and noticed a condescending attitude right off, no hello, no welcome, no thanks,. More like whadya want ?I remembered this guy from years ago talk about leaving an impression?Since he wasnt doing anything and there werent any customers I asked if they could do a few minor items he said we can schedule it in a few days...meanwhile no customers in the store?Nicely, I asked can you do it now? In a chastising voice he replies nope all kinds of bikes we have to get done by tomorrow yet no one working on bikes? Then the all-star said in a condescending voice as to educate you know your not the only customer (this coming from a kid was interesting, ha ha) while standing around gnawing on pizza on the sales floor, shooting the sht with a fellow worker who seemed to be ignoring him more interested in trying to get some work done. Its like back in the days when computers first came out and the I.T. guys were cocky cause they knew you couldnt go to anyone-else for repairs to get your work done w/out their help? Because of their crap attitude we all learned how to fix our own computers and quite frankly dont need them.Got news for ya pal theres nothing like all the competition around your store fact is most of us can take about 45 minutes refresher course and do everything you can without that attitude, grief and save the money just for the sport of it!!!!Who needs to buy anything in your store we can get anything you sell delivered to our doorstep in two days w/out the attitude and spending 20 minutes to find parking??Folks go to Castro Valley, Pleasanton and anywhere else. Obviously judging by these reviews Cyclepaths dont have an interest in earning your business. (except the two other guys there)I will say the two other individuals in the store were nice and helpful but you get the impression the other guy has the hammer on them.If you agree your experience with mine, give a thumbs up so we cn let others know!

What can I say except professionalism and serious expertise are what you get here! My Story: I went to some big box stores and thought I would get a good bike....both broke within a week. At the last break - the seat falling as the fastener broke - I decided to go to a real Bike Shop. I looked up bike shops on Google Maps and found this one - not too far from my house. I went in and a young man came to my assistance...summed me up, got me a bike that was priced right, and met my needs (trying to use my commute as my gym. Me: 49 and out of shape). What a great experience. If you want a professional to help you then this is the place to shop. You will not be disappointed.

As far as Im concerned maybe other people have just had bad luck, but each time I go there I feel close to 0% of pressure (maybe thats considered bad customer service?) I went in there a month ago and a guy asked me if there was anything I was looking for and I told him I was looking for mtb gloves. He directed me to the selection and informed me on the different types, their purpose and even which ones he recommended. From that he also asked if there was a particular color I wanted and he went out of this way and checked the inventory for the color. A couple of days ago I went in to get new tires and this time with a different staff, again, no pressure, I told him what I was interested in and he helped me thoroughly. Got my tires and am very pleased with their service as well as their knowledge. Going there tomorrow to get my friends bike tuned up.P.S. I think they prefer if you ask them for help with the intention of actually having a question since its probably frustrating trying to figure out which of the infinite amount of things a person might want. I doubt theyll get upset, but I think its always best to go them with a purpose otherwise just let them do their job working on the bikes (that pretty much applies to most bike stores)
