Nice and clean store .. staff is very helpful and ask you at the entrance if you need any help . I went 1st time and dont know the store but rep helped for my need . Provided all required info and comparing with similar products. Prices are also better and comparable with other similar sports goods stores. Lots of parking in front of the store.
I Like this Big 5 it is in a convenient location. It is nicely stalked. They have fast service and good tennis shoe deals! They usually keep some nice sports equiptment and every kind sports items you can think up. Good for camping, fishing, skating and more!

Very clean store nice associates. I came here for a fishing license update/duplicate with my correct address. Not only did they help me update my address in the system but they also got me a new printed copy of my fishing license. Very happy!
Its been a long time since I last went to a Big 5 store. This one in Hayward is a little on the small side, but they had what I was looking for. Unfortunately, the didnt have enough of them, so they checked at other stores. Very helpful. And very knowledgeable about their products.

I have to say, I have been shopping at Big 5 stores since my childhood. What you will typically find a a Big5 (especially when there is a sale) is a good price on decent to good sporting gear. This Hayward store does not disappoint. Generally helpful staff (which is harder to find these days). In a nutshell its a value sporting goods store.

Unfortunately they have terrible customer service at this location. One greeting from one out of 3 people up front and no extra effort to help incoming customers.
The store did a first-rate experience. Was time being in the essence, they got a young child back on the football field with his cleats and record time.
I always like coming to this Big 5 in Hayward. Plenty of parking there has been this young man name Sam he been there for while now . I think he manager now not sure. He great helpful very nice. Well as his customer service skills. Thats a plus for me.

Excellent service! The manager named Sam is super helpful & knowledgeable on the equipment. I purchased 4 pairs of rollerskates here for a decent price, & I will order high-end wheels online. The rollerskates are the Roller Derby high ankle kind & they feel amazzzing. Before looking online for better wheels I will check out this store one more time...if they dont have an item in stock they will order for you. Dont bother going to the one in San Lorenzo...the excellent service you get here makes it worth the trip.

Went in to browse to know whats available when I need it and Ive found that and more! They have a nice pair of velvet pant and a range of weight sets. I recommend getting a weight vest .... They have that too😉.
Unfortunately I cant give it a 5star but it is as good a Big 5 as any that I can remember. What I most like about the store here is that all the employees that they hire are friendly and very supportive. I walk out often thinking more about the conversation than I do the product . Its a small store so their limited but with what they do have and the service, its a great place to stop by.

This place is really good only coz of the customer service. Never have i walked in here and not got any help. I in fact didnt get what i was looking for during my last trip but the associate who helped me kept looking till the very last minute. I found that so professional. Plus its a very well organized store. Prices are always reasonable too esp coz i always look out for their coupons and save them.

Yeah I went to buy a gun here in the gun was missing pieces they said theyd order one for me and have it in and it would let me know in a week they never did I called back and they dont have no record of it so I wouldnt buy anything from this store

This Big 5 I loved. The woman (I dont remember her name now)was SUPER polite, informative, and helpful. She made useful suggestions. I didnt buy anything because they didnt have the size I I needed but I would definitely shop here again.

Much better organized and better customer service than previously. Good deals too.Well it was -must be a Downtown Hayward thing.Opens an hour late just like the Ace hardware store close by. This unbisness like practice runs rampant in Downtown Haystack...city officials need to take note. Especially if taxpayer money is ised for any form of subsidy.
Best place to go for sporting goods. Though many of their items are overpriced I mainly buy their oxygen which is cheaper and will help me catch my breath in case I have an asthma attack. Sport oxygen is cheaper than hospital oxygen, rescue inhalers, and Advair. Five stars for selling a life saving item for asthma patients and senior citizens that require oxygen.

Plenty of parking in the back. I always come here when the wells fargo lot next door is packed. That being said newish Big 5 store, products are neat and in place a fine selection of cool camping gear, cheap shoes, footballs etc... dont forget to grab a flyer in the very front for the best deals. Customer service can be hit or miss.
Went to buy some ammo for my 30-06 to go out to Livermore gun club to shoot,always seem to have what I need when dropping by for supplies . Easy access to parking lot
Worst customer service. Went in to get football gear ask for help and they just look at each other and pointed towards the wall were everything was and keep talking to each other and then they wonder why they get replace by self checkout machines.

My wife and I have a home for missionaries(basically people who either are instructors or medical services)... It was a pleasure to receive assistance from a tall young man(forgive me for forgetting his name)..to assist my professor friend into getting a new pair of shoes before he is to go to China... Big 5 never have many shoes for women. Never can find Colemans river sandals. Only mens. Lousy service too.
